Chapter Nineteen: Marcus

The meeting is done and the three of us have figured out a plan of action. I walk out of Aro office and go to find Leandra in the library, but she is not in her usual places. I sigh and then walk to her room in hopes that she was there to get dressed. Felix comes around the corner and he looks at me with a calm face.

"Have you seen Leandra, Felix?" I ask him before he walks away.

"The last time I saw her was in the library with Demetri. The two were talking about something very intently," Felix says. I nod and walk in search of Demetri, only to find him in front of Leandra's bedroom door. He is leaning against it like a little predator waiting for its prey to come out of hiding. My mind goes blank as I rush over and push him into the wall.

"What have you done to her?!" I growl. Demetri is no longer smiling and his eyes are cast down.

"Nothing out the ordinary, just a little teasing of her being a virgin," Demetri says. I grip his neck tighter and growl more. The sound of a door unlocking and opening a little makes me drop him and spin around. Leandra is hiding behind the door and she looks like a scared small girl.

"Lea," I whisper. She looks at me and then recoils when her eyes fall upon Demetri. "Leave us, Demetri."

"Yes, master," Demetri says and walks away. I slowly step to the door and reach out to Leandra. She flinches back into the room, allowing me to enter and lock the door behind me. I lean against the closed door and look at the woman I love dearly that seems to be scared of something. My mind suddenly goes back to the scar and wondering as to how she got that scar.

"Marcus, please," Leandra whimpers. My heart aches and I rush to hold her in my arms. She is shaking with fear and my anger begins to boil with the wanting to make Demetri hurt my little lioness.

"Tell me what is wrong, Lea, I am here for you," I say softly and sweetly. Leandra holds me close to her and I try to fight the urge to kiss her body to make her feel better.

"Nothing, it is just the past coming to haunt me is all," Leandra says. I nuzzle her hair with my nose and take in her beautiful rose scent. My sweet lioness it scared and I am not sure as to why.

"Please tell me what I can do to fix it and make you feel better," I plea. Leandra looks at me with her best smile.

"It is in the past now, I am fine," Leandra says. I kiss the top of her head and then her forehead. She runs her hands up my chest and leaves them on my breasts. We remain like this until she steps back and smiles widely. "Come, we have some things to discuss now that you are out of the meeting."

"Lea, we can wait a little longer on that if you want," I say with a raised brow.

"Nonsense, we need to keep you on track otherwise you will fall behind your brothers on your paperwork. I just got everything organised and you only have a few more things to do, unless this meeting has caused more," Leandra says and she turns to walk to the door. I quickly grab her hand and pull her to face me.

"Lea, my love, please tell me what happened," I beg once more.

"Demetri reminded me of my human life. It was not the best life, but it made me as strong as I am now. It is nothing for you to worry about, I am tough and can take care of myself," Leandra says. She caresses my face with one of her hands and she smiles lovingly at me. "I love you for making sure that I am safe and okay."

I kiss her hand and hold it to my heart. we remain like this for a moment and then go to my office to get started on our work.
