Chapter Twenty: Leandra
I am going through some some of the paperwork Marcus had to sign and I organise them into who they are to go to. It takes me a moment to realise that there is someone watching me. I turn to see Demetri standing by the door with a wicked grin on his face. Quickly, I turn back around and I try my hardest to ignore him,
"Leandra, you look beautiful standing here doing your little duty. How about you take me up on my offer and come do your duty in my bed?" Demetri says, as he gets closer and closer to me slowly. There is a low growl from somewhere and we both turn to see Marcus standing at the door.
"Get away from Leandra right now," Marcus growls. Demetri blinks in shock and then bows while moving away from me. Marcus holds me close to him and he protectively looks me over. Demetri bows to him before scurrying away like a scared dog. I smile at the scene and then turn to Marcus to see he is really not happy.
"Master?" I ask, knowing my place before everyone. Before Marcus can answer, Caius walks over with an odd look on his face.
"What could you two be doing over here alone and to have Marcus so upset?" Caius chuckles. I laugh and move to stand at Marcus' side. Caius looks at us with a big smile on his face. "On another note, we have someone here demanding to see Leandra."
"Someone here to see me? Really?" I ask with a raised brow.
"Yes, this is someone I would like not to mess with," Caius says. Marcus and I follow Caius to the throne room and there a someone standing in the middle of the room with their back to us. I stepped into the room slowly, to see if i figure out who the person is. The moment I look at the guest, it is like looking into a mirror and I smile widely.
"Myra," I say. My twin sister smiles and opens her arms out to me. Myra and I are fraternal twins and we were close as kids. She was my protector form the bullies after one of them put the scar on my face. Where I have light brown hair naturally, she has dirty blonde. Our skin is tan still, but when we were humans, Myra had the green eyes and I had the blue eyes. Now, she has black hair with blonde and red highlights.
"Lea, still as beautiful as mama," Myra says with a big smile. She is the oldest of us by four minutes and she always called herself the older sister. Myra reaches up to touch my scar with a hint of sadness in her eyes. "Why did you not come and get me after your turned and after grandma died?"
"We were missing and I was not sure where you were," I say. Myra wraps her arms around me to give me a big hug. I hold her close to feel that she is here and alive, in a sense. Myra lets me go and she looks at Marcus and Caius.
"Lea, would you care to introduce us?" Myra asks with a smile. I smile and run over to pull Marcus over. He smiles while putting an arm around my shoulder.
"Myra, this is Marcus Volturi. Master, meet my twin sister," I say. Marcus nods his head and extends his hand to Myra.
"A pleasure to meet you," Marcus says. Myra nods her head before taking his hand lightly. "Leandra never mentioned she had a sister, a twin sister to be exact."
"Lea was never one to boast she has a sister. Growing up she was really shy," Myra says with her wicked smile. If I could blush, I would be right now and I look up at Marcus through my lashes. He is smiling at me while moving his arm down to wrap around my waist.
"She was that way when she first came here. But, to what do we owe the pleasure of your visit?" Marcus chuckles.
"I came for my sister so we can go home," Myra says. I blink in surprise with the look on her face and see that she really wants to take me away from here.
"Myra, I cannot leave here because I owe my service to them. They spare my life after all that I did," I say softly.
"You need to come home because I have found her," Myra says. I stiffen for a moment at the news and try to hold in my excitement for a moment.
"Where is she?" I ask quickly. Myra motions to the door and I notice a little face hiding behind one of the pillars looking at me with baby blue eyes. My frozen heart aches for a moment when the face moves from behind the pillar to let me see my little girl looking as beautiful as the day I lost her.
"Mama?" the little girl asks.
"Hello, my darling girl," I say with a big smile while walking over to her. My little girl runs over with a big smile and I scoop her up into my arms. "My beautiful Layla, my baby."
"I missed you, mama," my little girl says into my shoulder. I kiss her beautiful brown ringlets and then her olive colored cheeks. Her tears fall onto my shoulder as she twirls her little finger around my hair just like when she was a toddler. Myra walks over with a big smile and she gives me a hug.
"Thank you for finding her," I say. Marcus and Caius are standing in shock of hearing that Layla is mine. I put Layla down with her hand in mine and walk her over to Marcus and Caius. "Layla, tell these two gentlemen hello."
"Hello," Layla says with a big smile. Marcus looks up at me with wide eyes.
