Hey everyone! How is everything? This introduction is a little different. So as you might know I have been in school for over two months now. So far it's been waking up, school, home, homework, dinner and bed and I just celebrated my birthday a week ago. I feel so old! So I'm so sorry it took me so long to post this chapter. I've been drained of my energy everyday but I'm fighting. I plan on having next five to six chapters set in the past. So this is a test run I guess. Lastly I would like to say thanks for reading this story up until now. You don't know how happy I feel so Thank you very much. So let chapter 9 begin now!
Chapter 9: In the past: May
Tiroza was a beautiful and a very powerful country. But also the birth place of May. The country very similar to Italy but in a different universe. A country filled with rich culture, history and people. But famous for their roses and food. The land alive and green with tall trees, grass fields and fresh air. The royal palace was white and gold shining with the sun light. Large gardens surrounding the large castle.
"Princess! Princess May please stop running." Yelled a maid running after a young little girl no older than six, with the brightest pair of blue eyes and long chocolate-brown hair ,running to the garden.
"But I want to see him." Yelled back the young princess with a happy smile playing on her lips. "Alex is here."
May ran through the gates of the garden to her best friend. But then May found herself on the ground."Watch where you're going will you." Said an annoyed voice.
"Don't be so mean to her." A soft voice said helping May. May got up patting the dirt of her red dress. "Thanks Alex!" May smiled.
"What are you doing here Dew?" Asked May looking at the green haired boy. "It's Drew for the last time. My mum wanted to talk to your mum so she brought me with her." Explained the green haired little boy looking annoyed.
"Sorry Drew!" May smiled taking both Drew's and Alex's hand into her small hands."Come on I want to show you something!". Pulling the young boys to the pavilion in middle of the garden.
Once under the pavilion May let go of the boys hands, cupped her hands together and saying something under her breath. A minute later a small blue and red flame appeared in her hands. It was small but you could feel the heat radiating from the small flame. A soft wind passed and the flame started to change shape. First it was a butterfly, a bird, a horse and lastly a rose. May held the flaming rose in her hand with a proud look on her face.
"Isn't it so pretty! I'm starting to get my powers!" May beamed at her friends spinning the rose around. They were both dumbfounded. They knew that she was getting her powers but already has some control on it so fast was amazing.
"My mum told me that you're coming over to my house. Are you?" Asked Alex moving closer to May."Ye..." May started to say but got cut off. "No. She's coming over to my house! Did you forget that your dad told you." Drew said glancing at Alex. You could see that the two boys had a little rivalry between them and sparks were flying.
"Oh yeah! I forgot!" May said loudly remembering what her father said. Drew rolled his eyes at the little girl but looked at her with soft eyes.
A stronger wind blew and a little spark fell on May's soft skin make her cry a little. "Are you okay?!" Jumped Drew taking her hand into his looking over it carefully."Be careful when you're playing with fire May. You might burn yourself." Warned Alex. "I will. I promise!" May said with tearful eyes. Alex whipped away her tears softly.
"May! Where are you?" Called a female voice. "Mum!" Cried my running over to her mum and hugged her. "Are you ready to go?" Asked Caroline. May nod. "Let's go then. Come on boys!"
Few years later
The palace was glowing red, yellow and orange with clouds of heavy smoke coming out. A dark shadow running away from the palace not looking back but had a winning smirk on their face as they heard the screams of the people inside.
"Mum! Dad! Max! someone, please help me!" May yelled at the top of her voice coughing each time and crying. She was now eleven. Her long hair burned and was now neck height. She got up and ran down the hallway avoiding the fire and smoke. The ceiling falling down behind her.
She kept on running until she hit a dead-end at the end of the long hall. May span around quickly and she noticed that she was blocked by the flames with nowhere to run. Was she going to die here? Who did this? Will someone find her and save her? Was her family safe? Those were the questions on her mind.
May continued to coughing and began to feel light-headed. What she couldn't see was a piece of plaster falling from the ceiling and fell on top of her making her lose her consciousness. A hand reached out from the flames trying to grab her.
"Get away from her!" Yelled Norman running towards his daughter. Running through the flames and carrying his daughter away from the fire and back to their family. "May!" Yelled Max crying for his elder sister hugging her.
May's P.O.V
I felt my head is spinning and something wet is running down my face slowly and my skin feels too warm. I tried to open my eyes but they felt like they're made of lead so I kept them closed. I don't know what have happened to me or where am I.
"May, come on dear. Wake up!" I heard my mum yelled. I tried to open my eyes again and I managed to this time. I saw my family's faces crying, looking down at me.
"Thank God you're okay!" My dad cried hugging me tightly. I smiled weakly hugging him back. I opened my mouth to speak but nothing came out, just hot air. I lost my voice. Maybe it was the smoke. I put my hand on the left side of my face and felt something wet.
I took my hand away from my face and looked at my hand. They were red. It was my blood. I looked at my mum, dad and brother horrified. Tears streaming down my cheeks like a river. I didn't know what happened but I all knew that is was somehow because of me and I felt terrible.
"Don't cry May. Everything will be fine." Max smiled patting me on the head. "You need to rest. You went through a lot." He was right because I felt myself being washed over by sleep and fell asleep.
The next day I woke up to find myself in a small room. I tried to call for someone but again nothing came out. Not a word or even a sound. I began panicking looking around, trying to figure out where I was.
The door opened and my mum and dad stepped into the room. They looked happy seeing me awake and well... Alive. To be honest me too. But they looked sad somehow.
"Morning princess." Said my dad patting me on the head. His hand was big and warm. I'm overjoyed to see that they were fine. So I gave them a big smile and hugged them tightly.
"May listen. I know you'll be frightened about what we are going to say but you'll have to leave Tiroza and this world." My mum said beginning to cry.
What!? Why!? Did I do something so bad that I have to leave the world. Does that mean I'm going to get killed? Why are they doing this? I kept on asking those questions and my head began to spin again.
My dad noticed this and said, "May,it's not what you think. You did nothing wrong. Someone is after you and want to use you for bad things. We're only doing this to protect you. It breaks our heart but it's the right thing to do for you." holding my hand.
My mum and dad explained more about what was happening. The fire and what is going to happen. So it turns out I'm going to another place called 'Earth'. It is a parallel universe to ours. They don't use magic or our kind of technology because they were a few hundred years behind our development, and so was the four princess from the other countries. So Dawn,Leaf,Misty and Pam are or going to be in the same shoes as I am. But I only met them all once or twice so I hope we will get along.
"And don't worry May. Drew will be traveling to Earth aswell." My dad said. Drew? Who's that? An uncle I've never met? But that name sounds familiar, but on the other hand Drew was a popular name for guys in Tiroza. Why can't Alex come instead?
A few days later
May had fully recovered from the fire incident and was ready to leave her beloved country, its people and her dear family. But she knew it was probably for the best. If she doesn't leave, more disasters might happen and people's lives might be ruined and she would never forgive herself for that.
They were walking to the castle's garden. There, the portal that May needs so she can travel to Earth. The garden was almost untouched. The grass was still a lush green, roses still so beautiful with their soft yet bright colour petals and birds singing in the fruit trees behind the water fountain.
The portal was under the pavilion. The floor of the pavilion, they were tiled with cream coloured tiles and five different colours, green, red, blue, yellow and purple. Caroline recited a spell and warm light shot out of the pavilion's floor. The portal was open.
"Be careful May. Remember to eat all of your meals, brush your teeth, wear clean clothes, don't cause trouble and don't forget..." Caroline started to say but couldn't continue because she started to cry for her daughter.
"Mum, please don't cry. I'll be alright I promise." May said, her voice breaking trying to hold back her own tears but managed to hold it and hugged her mum comforting her trying to tell her she's going to be alright.
" Remember that we love you okay. Even if we're not there with you, our love and spirit are alway with you." Norman reminded May hugging his little girl before she leaves him for who knows how long.
May said nothing to Max but they didn't need it. They knew that they would see each other. They hugged each other tightly, tears streaming down their cheeks not wanting to let go of their sibling. Max let go first and nod at May, reassuring his big sister.
"Thanks Max." May smiled through her tear. Turning to the portal, stepping forward and turning to look at her family one last time.
Her family gave her one last time. May then took a deep breath, stepped into the portal and closing her eyes remembering them. When she opened her eyes she was in an apartment. A girl with midnight blue hair stepped out of a room to the right.
" Hi I'm Dawn! You're May right?" Dawn asked. So with that May knew she was not in her home country anymore but excited to start a new life with the three other girls she still have to meet, not counting Dawn.
So chapter 9 is finished. I hope this chapter is up to your liking and I think I might write the next few chapters like this. Please tell me if I should continue writing the girls past or should I move on with the story. Please remember to review. It would make me really happy and thank you for reading this chapter and see you in the next one. Bye!
