Chapter 7

It was now the end of the school day and it was time for the guys to drop Katie home. They were outside the building waiting for Katie with their bookbags since they had gotten out early because the seniors were taking ACT'S and since they were freshman they got early dismissal.

All of them were waiting patiently except for one person.

James.

"Where is Katie? It's 4:13 already and the weather man said it would starting raining at 4:20 and I just got my hair done I can't have it ruined because of the rain!" James said impatiently.

James was freaking out because he had just gotten his hair done from the barber fifteen minutes before they came to school to pick up Katie and the weather man said it would start raining at 4:20 so that was practically the end of the world according to him.

Typical James freaking out over his hair.

"Calm down James, Katie's math class probably just ran five to six minutes late and she's getting her stuff right now. She'll be here" Kendall said trying to calm James down to get him to stop freaking out.

"How can I? This took a good half an hour to make perfect and I can't have the rain spoil it because of Katie's LATENESS!" James yelled out.

Kendall rolled his eyes at that.

"He's freaking out over his hair literally as much a girl would freak out over her hair that she had just gotten styled from the salon like half an hour ago which she can't have destroyed from the rain. That's James for yeah" Kendall thought annoyingly.

Yes he loved James but seriously the guy needs to stop obsessing over his hair 24/7.

Like literally.

"Hey!" Katie called out from the top of the stairs that led into the front doors of the school.

The guys whipped their heads to where the voice came from and saw Katie standing on the stairs with her bag already.

Katie rushed down the stairs and joined them.

"I'm ready!" She said cheerfully.

"Where have you been missy? You were supposed to meet us here at 4:10 and now it's 4:17!" James said with an angry face on.

"I'm sorry but my math class went a few extra minutes and why are you so grouchy?" Katie asked wondering what was up with James.

"Ignore James he's just grumpy because he doesn't want to get his hair messed up by the rain which took almost a full half an hour to get perfect" Kendall whispered to Katie in her ear so James wouldn't hear and get angry.

"Ah got it. Stop it then Mr. Grumpy Pants" Katie said in response to Kendall and then mockingly to James.

James got annoyed at that comment and Kendall and Katie laughed at it but then stiffed their laughter when James caught them.

"Okay all seriousness now let's walk you home Katie" Kendall now said being in full serious mode now.

The others nodded and they all started walking down the street from the school.

Katie's house wasn't far it was just five blocks away from the school.

They were all walking when suddenly something small and wet hit the back of James neck.

James felt it and put his hand to the back of his neck to feel what it was.

It was a rain drop.

The boys saw James looking puzzled and asked why.

"What's wrong dude?" Carlos asked wondering what was up.

James didn't say anything and was looking at his hands observing the water.

"NO NO NO NO!" James screamed.

"Dude What's wrong?" Logan also asked alarmed at James who was now freaking out.

"Water fell on me and now my hairstyle is going to get ruined!" James said freaking out.

"James it was just two drops your hair is going to be fine" Kendall said as always trying to calm down James whenever he had a hair freak out.

They all looked up towards the sky and saw rain started to pour.

And the bad news was none of them brought umbrellas.

This was going to be tough.

"Nobody brought umbrellas How am I going to save my wonderful hair from this horrendous rain?" James asked upset.

James was really upset right now.

He closed his eyes and stuck both of his arms out and suddenly the most unbelievable thing happened.

The rain started falling around them. James controlled the rain and he made it flow around them making all of them completely dry and saving his perfect hair.

James didn't see what he was doing but the guys and Katie surely did.

"Dude I can't believe this" Carlos said in wonderment.

"I know yeah" Logan said also in astonishment.

"J-J-James I think you might want to open your eyes now" Kendall told James who was stunned at what he did.

Katie honestly had no words.

"Why? What happened?" James asked nonchalantly.

"Just open your eyes and look" Kendall told him.

James nodded at him and opened his eyes.

He looked around himself and the guys and he was stunned.

He controlled the way the rain flowed. Everything else was getting wet except for the five of them. It was like they were in a bubble that protected you from the rain.

"Dude Did I just make the rain flow around us?" James asked them.

"Yes dude apparently you did" Logan said explaining the obvious to all of them.

"THIS. . . . . . .IS . . . . . .AWESOME! I'll never have to bring an umbrella ever again and now my hair will stay perfect in rainy weather!" James screamed excitedly.

He was really happy right now. He could control the rain and water basically.

But since James put his arms down his powers stopped and the rain started falling on them again.

"Ah I'm getting wet again James put your arms back out!" Katie yelled at him. Katie was wearing a new t-shirt that her mom had bought her on Saturday and she didn't want it to get ruined because of this weather.

James nodded and put his arms back out. He channeled his energy in and the rain started falling around them again.

"Good I'm better now" Katie said relieved that her shirt was fine now.

"So I'm going to have to walk like this the whole way?" James asked with his arms out.

"You'll have too then since it looks like when you put them down your powers stop and the rain falls on us" Logan said explaining it.

"But it's just like two more blocks you'll make it" Kendall said reassuring him.

"Okay it's fine then let's go" James said and they all continued walking.

They all reached Katie's house in less then five minutes. Katie had told them that her house was brick with burgundy on it and Kendall figured out which one it was that was really close to school.

"Here we are! See you guys tomorrow!" Katie said cheerfully and kissed all of them on the cheek and then ran up the sidewalk to the front door.

She turned around and waved at the guys and then disappeared inside.

Logan POV

After we had dropped Katie off we all said our 'goodbyes' and then walked to our houses.

I walked in the front door and slammed myself on the couch in the living room.

I grabbed the remote from the table and turned on the Tv. I wanted to relax for a bit and unwind before I had to start making dinner.

Then the weirdest thing happened. I felt a draft. I looked around the living room and saw a window was opened. But the problem was I didn't want to get up and close the window nor did I did I want to walk upstairs to my bedroom and grab a sweater to wear.

"I wish the wind would just go the other direction away from here" I thought to myself with a sigh and closed my eyes.

I was concentrating on what I could do about this and with putting both of my arms straight out in front of me and channeling all of my energy in, I pushed the wind out the other direction through the window.

I opened my eyes and saw that I didn't feel cold anymore. I looked again at the window and saw the wind currents were flowing outside

"Woh did I just control the wind and make it flow the other direction?" I thought to myself astounded at that.

After all of them relaxed for a few hours the guys and Katie joining them had decided to meet up the ice rink to play some hockey.

Everybody packed their stuff and headed to the ice rink.

The boys all walked in through the gate and went and sat on the bench to put their skates on since they already had their jerseys on and there sticks were ready. Katie went and sat up in the bleachers and waited till they were ready to start.

"Ready! Let's play some hockey!" Carlos said pumped up. They all skated on to the ice and decided the teams.

Kendall and Carlos versus James and Logan.

"All right let's go!" Logan said pumped up and ready.

"WAIT A SECOND!" Katie yelled out from the bleachers.

Katie was tired of always being the one to watch them play and decided that she wanted to play.

Katie ran down the bleachers and went to the gate that led you to inside the actual rink.

The guys all skated to Katie to ask what was the problem.

"What's the problem Katie?" Kendall asked her.

"I want to play today. I'm tired of watching you guys play I want to play" Katie said.

"Sure of course Katie you can play. But you don't have any skates though" James told her.

"I can still play even if I don't have skates" Katie said hoping that she could still play.

"Sorry baby sister but you can't play without skates. You'll just have to watch us" Kendall said feeling a bit upset for Katie.

"It's fine I understand" Katie said feeling defeated and then turned around and went back to the bleachers and sat in her usual spot.

Kendall felt upset about Katie. She really wanted to play but she didn't have skates.

They all skated back towards the center of the ice and got ready to start.

"Okay first team to get 5, wins. Got it?" Logan said explaining to them the score.

"Yup got it Let's go!" Carlos said getting pumped up.

Katie was upset watching them play. She wanted to play so badly.

But she had no skates. It sucked.

"I wish I could play somehow" She thought to herself and closed her eyes.

Channeling in all of her energy she put her arms out and and icy winds flew out and went toward the rink and landed all onto the ice. The whole design of the ice changed. She manipulated the ice and now when she isn't wearing skates she can go out and skate in shoes and it'll work perfectly.

Katie opened her eyes and saw the design of the ice changed.

"Did I just change the design of the ice?" Katie asked herself.

Katie ran down the bleachers again and then walked onto the ice. She started skating perfectly fine just like a person with skates would.

The guys saw Katie skating perfectly without skates and were surprised.

They paused their game and skated to Katie.

"Katie how are skating without skates? That's amazing!" Kendall asked Katie.

"I don't know how but when I was sitting and being upset I channeled my energy and ice winds came out of my hands and landed onto the ice. It changed the whole design of the ice. I ended up manipulating the design of the ice and now when I'm without skates I can skate perfectly with my shoes on just like a person with skates could" Katie said explaining how she was skating with shoes on.

"That's amazing Katie! Now you can play!" Carlos said excitedly.

"Your on my team Katie! Let's go!" Kendall said to Katie and Katie followed Kendall to the center of the ice.

"Now un pause" James said and un paused the game and they continued with Katie being on Kendall's team.

After fifteen minutes Kendall's team had won. Katie was really good at hockey then James and Carlos expected her to be.
