...Version one...

A small boy, barely one year old climbed a steep cliff. The boy giggled slightly as he climbed to the highest part of the small mountain, standing on top a large rock, and looking over his conquered land. Laughing slightly, the boy turned around, to see a large, white plated Beowolf already jumping for him. His eyes shot open in fear, as he jumped as fast as he could out of the way. He fell face first, gaining a large bump on his head.

The Beowolf pounced again, going straight at him. Fear welled within his eyes as he outstretched his hand. "Stop!" he yelled, cowering down as much as he could. Slowly, the boy opened his eyes, and stared at the Beowolf, which was simply not moving, in the exact same position as it was when he had yelled. Looking at his hand, the boy saw a bright, almost black fire-like Aura, that seemed to give a comfortable feel to it.

...Version one Version 1..

Suddenly, an older man burst out from behind the Beowolf, crushing it instantly. "Jaune are you okay!" he shouted, worried about his son. The boy, now identified as Jaune, nodded, before looking at his hand. "Dad?" he asked, "What's this?" pointing to the small black fire around his hand.

His father smiled widely, before adopting a inquisitive look on his face. "I believe that's your Aura son, the power of our soul that protects us. Wonder why it's black, doesn't seem to have any evil qualities." the father of the boy wondered aloud. Jaune pouted, "Does this mean I have to be evil?" he questioned, feeling like his dream of becoming a hero might be vanquished with his own true self.

The older Arc just smiled, "Not really. Having a black Aura garners some suspicion, but with a radiance like that, your either strong enough to resist it, or you have some sort of super-awesome ability that turns it white, or something." he shrugged. Jaune worked hard to process what his dad had said, before jumping up excitedly. "Ohh! I think I stopped the Beowolf from killing me!" The older Arc raised an eye, "Could you do it on that one there?" he asked, pointing to a younger Bowolf that jumped out of the woods.

Jaune smiled, before trying to focus the black flame. "Follow me!" he ordered. Slowly, the beowolf walked towards the two, sitting down quietly between the two, and panting with it's non-existent tongue. The older Arc whistled, "I think we're going to have to start your training soon."

Jaune managed to come home with a small army of Grimm that day, almost gave his mother a heart attack.

...Time Skip...

It had been over ten years since that day, and Jaune's training had come along nicely. At first it was simply some light exercises, and taking control over some nearby Grimm, but the last two years had been a massive training curve. His father turned doing pushups into stopping attacks that could crush Ursa, and turned taking over a single Beowolf into taking complete control over a pack, all in different places, an Ursa, and raising their defenses drastically by growing plates in key areas.

They had only found he could do that last after three years, and his father had hounded him to do so ever since. He also learned he could passively make them grow faster by hooking up his Aura into their body, so even after they turned sentient he could still completely control them.

Yes, Grimm turned sentient after a certain age, a well known, but not very accepted fact. That is, until he convinced a Goliath herd to turn around to show it, and made a Beowolf bark in Morris Code, even though he didn't understand it himself.

Unfortunately, he also had proven himself quite the scientist, so he was given the 'new' titles, 'Professor of Grimm', and 'Head of Grimm research'.

You should probably listen to the instructions. his mind notified him.

"Do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path, or you will die. You will be monitored and graded for the duration of your initiation. But our instructors will not intervene. You will find an abandon temple at the end of the path containing several relics. Each pair mush choose one and return to the top of the cliff. You will guard that item, as well as your standing, and we will grade you appropriately. Are there any questions?" he asked. No hands went up.

"Good. Now, take your positions." Seconds later, plenty of time for us to get into position, the plates we were standing on started firing us off, one by one. Presumably so they wouldn't hit each other in the air.

I feel like I'm forgetting something... Jaune thought, before remembering. "Who wants to be partners with me!" he yelled, breaking his crouched position. A hand went up, from a red-head he remembered being named Pyrrha. "Got it!" he yelled.

That settled, Jaune settled back into his crouched form. Making two beautiful black wings behind him, and flapping them once he was in the air.

...Time Skip...

Jaune stared at his two options, one of which he could take care of by himself, though it would exhaust him. The Giant Nevermore would be more useful, being relatively undamaged, it's powerful ranged attacks, and it's ability to fly. The Death Stalker was overall stronger, and had massive strength, and he could easily heal all of it's disabilities, but then he would have to rely on his allies on the way back, which he had no problem with, but would be an unnecessary risk.

Making a split second decision, Jaune sprinted towards the Nevermore, "Everyone, take down the Death Stalker, I'll take down the Nevermore!" he shouted.

The Giant Nevermore launched its feathers at the young man, who simply snatched one out of the air and turned it into two large, black wings, and dodged the rest. Filling both wings with Aura, he flapped them both, hurling himself at the Nevermore.

Hitting the Nevermore like a rocket, Jaune forced himself to the front of it's face. Reaching out with his Aura, Jaune forced it into the Nevermore's eyes and mouth. Taking the over the Nevermore's mind, he found that it was about to become truly sentient. It wouldn't become smart enough to truly rebel, but he figured it would be smart to make it dependent on his power soon.

It only took about five seconds, but it took almost eighty percent of his power, so he decently couldn't do another soon. I suppose I'll have to rely on my allies. "I'm done! Can't really help you with the King Taijitu though! Got our ride out of here though! We're going in style!"

Version one Version 2...

The Beowolf stayed, and, after a while, they boy commanded again. "Stand up?" the Beowolf did. The child smiled, wandering off to the woods, intending on capturing more Grimm.

He managed to capture fifteen before he fell asleep in the middle of the woods, his small pack of Beowolves and Ursa guarding his unconscious form.

...Time Skip...

It had been almost ten years now, not that young Jaune knew that, and he had managed quite the impressive feat. Having a standing army of over five hundred lesser Grimm, and almost a hundred mid-level Grimm. Above all of those, who could easily be replaced within a month, he had gained a powerful ally. A single, Goliath, who had decided to join his cause, being boosted by his power, though not much of it, in return for a bit more protection.

Over the years he had found many awesome effects and side-powers his ability had. First of all, it let him take control of Grimm, a small portion at one time would allow him to control any of the weaker Grimm for what was easily his entire lifespan. By doing this he could shove out their natural energy source, the very planet around them, and supplement it with his own Aura. It made them require his power, which is why he used it for his elite guard, but constantly took a small bit of it, which was why he only used it for his elite guard. The third power it granted him was similar, and something he had only learned recently.

The power to speak to greater Grimm.

By flowing his Aura into his voice, which was also the easiest way to command his Grimm army, he could make himself understood by creatures of Grimm, and by doing the same to his ears he could understand them.

The fourth power his ability granted him was ability to instantly increase a Grimm's power by using his Aura, using this method he had made a small, rat-like Grimm most considered nothing but a pest into a sword capable of cutting through anything he had ever found, even Goliath armor, though it wasn't long enough to truly hurt them. It was even capable of self repair!

With both of the these powers, Jaune had quickly made all his clothing and armor into it, his plate mail, which could, and often would, walk around when he wasn't wearing it, and his chainmail which he always wore, and didn't seem to mind staying still when he took it off to bathe.

Lastly, his fifth power allowed him to create Grimm, though they were very weak, and very expensive. It allowed him to create his 'spy network' as he liked to call it, that could tell him things from miles away.

It was because of that that he knew about the Hunters that were cutting their marry way through his army of Grimm. He couldn't fault them for it, he supposed, since most Grimm attacked humans, but it was still mean. Quickly, Jaune ran over to the older group, hoping he could keep the majority of his army and get directions to his birthplace.

When he got to the four, he ran up to them, "Stop! Stop!" he yelled, before a large, round object hit him in his stomach. "Opf!" He was knocked back almost ten feet, but was protected from any actual harm by his Aura. Growling slightly, Jaune stood back up, "It's not nice to hit someone!" he yelled.

The four stopped, seeing as the lesser Grimm made a circle around them, and the human-like figure was standing before them. "I-I-is that a-a g-g-gr-Grimm l-Lord!" one shouted, in obvious fear. Jaune noticed she was a girl. "What's a Grimm Lord?" he asked. The four stared at him, guard still up, and their leader, a man wearing a bright red outfit with brown hair. "A Grimm Lord is an Ancient Grimm with a human-like shape, they are said to be extremely powerful and controlling the creatures of Grimm." he explained, his spear and shield ready for an oncoming attack.

Jaune thought for a few seconds. "Well, my Aura's special ability does allow me to control Grimm, I'm a human." he explained, happy to find another human after so long. The red man smiled nervously, "I see... so are you can control Grimm. Is there a reason you are so close to Atlas?" he asked. Jaune looked at him questioningly, "What's Atlas?" he asked.

The red clothed man sighed, "I think we're going to have to bring him in." he told his team, before turning back to Jaune, "Preferably without the army of Grimm." Jaune pouted, before brightening up "Can we ride on Gary?" he asked. The red clothed man was afraid to ask, but did anyway, "Who's Gary?" he asked, winching slightly at the question.

Jaune smiled, "Gary is my Goliath friend!" he happily explained.

...Time Skip...

Jaune, and his team of rescuers-ish, stood in front of Gerneral Ironwood. He looked down upon them from his desk, judging Jaune's worth. Slowly, he leaned over, rubbing his temples, "So, explain to me why four of my best hunters, going out on a simple Search and Destroy mission barely out of range of our support cameras and fire found a large army of Grimm, led by a young boy who claims to be able to control Grimm, and displays the ability. You, of course, suspected that he was a Grimm Lord, but still decided to, despite the risk, bring him into the middle of Atlas, bringing a Goliath with you." he scowled.

Turning to Jaune, his voice remaining firm, but not angry, "Do you have a name?" he asked. Jaune nodded. "Jaune." he smiled. General Ironwood sighed, "and a last name?" he asked, trying his hardest to both make sure he wasn't looking at a Grimm Lord and not insult the human survivor with an incredibly powerful Semblance. Jaune nodded again, "Arc."

The five hunters sighed, all thinking one thing. This is going to be a lot of paperwork.

Ironwood sighed, "Do you remember how old you were when you ran away?" he asked. Jaune frowned, "I didn't run away...I got lost." he trailed off, "I think I was six at the time." Ironwood nodded, "and your current age?" he asked. Jaune frowned, "What day is it?" he asked. Ironwood smiled "June 15th." he answered sharply. Jaune paled, "My birthday was three days ago! I forgot to celebrate it!" he cried.

Ironwood scowled his 'professor scowl', reigning Jaune back in. Jaune chuckled nervously, "Oh... and um... what year is it?" he asked. Ironwood sighed, "It's XXXX." Jaune paled again, "It's been over ten years!" he yelled, rolling on the ground like a spoiled kid who didn't get what he wanted. Ironwood gave his 'professor scowl' again, and Jaune straightened up. "I'm...uhh..." he trailed off briefly, doing simple math on his fingers, "Seventeen!" he answered proudly.

Ironwood, having confirmed that this was indeed Jaune Arc, still alive, sighed. A lot of paperwork.

"My secretary will lead you out." he sighed, dismissing them. Jaune frowned, "But girls have cooties!"

...Time Skip...

After a month of tearful reunions, and the cursed 'school', and learning that, after ten, girls no longer had cootie, Jaune was on his own feet. Mentally and maturely speaking, he was still drastically socially stunted, which probably would have happened anyway.

Right now, Jaune was helping a small red-cloaked girl up after some strange explosion. "Hi, I'm Ruby." she introduced herself. Jaune smiled awkwardly, "I'm Jaune."

...Version one Version 3...

It had been almost ten years since that day, and Grimm's insanity was slowly working it's way through Jaune's mind. It had eaten most of his childhood memories away, and he was left with the feeling that he needed to go to Vale, but no reason as to why. He had an army of almost five hundred mid-class Grimm, almost a thousand lesser Grimm, and an almost infinite number of rat-like Grimm, who had no combat use, but were skilled at finding him food.

He had seven hundred Beowolves, three hundred without armor, and four hundred with plates. He knew the lesser Grimm were hard to spot, so he had also almost fifty sentient Beowolves with no armor or offensive spikes, but high enough intelligence to do assassination. The Great Mother had also gifted him five hundred Nevermores, ranging in size from about a single bird length to his own size, with little to no armor. They were his eyes in the skies, letting him move objects without being spotted and giving him the ability to survey his land, The Great Mother's land easily, to help him wipe the filthy humans off the Earth.

The Great Mother had also gifted him with Ursa recently. They weren't as easy to control as Beowolves, nor as agile or fast, but they were much better for taking damage, and were great pack-animals. He hadn't done many experiments with them yet, and only had about two hundred lesser Grimm, and only forty-nine mid-class Grimm.

Along those, The Great Mother had given him many presents, most of them a boon with his Aura, or some more powerful Grimm. He currently had about fifty Greater Grimm. Going in order, first was a Giant Nevermore, who was called, roughly translated from Grimm, Steve, who had ten other Giant Nevermore that he spoke for. Second was The Beowolf Elder, an ancient Beowolf almost covered in armor, about half-way to becoming a Grimm Lord, though he didn't have enough power to oppose a hunter, much less actively threaten them, as of yet. His name, roughly translated, was Henry, and he spoke for ten other Ancient Beowolves. The third was an Ursa, who had many cuts in his armor, he had spikes across his back, and both his legs and belly were completely protected, he was easily three times the size of a normal Ursa, though he was missing one eye. He had no name, and merely went by Papa, he spoke for twenty Ancient Ursa.

After that, Jaune's followers got more powerful, and useful.

First, was Ea, an ancient Grimm who ate the Aura of anyone that touched it, except it's user. It could also release a powerful poison that could kill almost any living thing, once they got infected. Luckily, or unluckily, the poison was made of microscopic Grimm, so it wouldn't affect him. Along with it came Jaune's armor, an Ancient Grimm similarly capable of eating Aura, and Dust, but would not touch his own. It was a mail shirt that went by the name Beowolf, though he didn't know why. The Great Mother had also given him a shield named El Cid. It could make fire hot enough to melt stone, and anything else he tried it upon, from it's dragon-like mouth. The Swan coat, made from black, swan-like feathers that could stop any attack he had had. Lastly, The Great Mother had given him a small necklace called The Necklace of Harmonia, which slowed his ageing, allowing him to live longer, and brought him great fortune over everything he did, and empowered him slightly when he wore it.

After all of those, he believed the greatest gift The Great Mother gave him was the one in front of him.

A single herd of Goliaths, eleven of them, that would follow his every command. The Great Mother told him how each Goliath was worth three normal Hunters, and one super-hunter. Eleven of them just proved how much The Great Mother cared for him. All told, his Greater Grimm was about the power of Beacon Academy, a place The Great Mother wanted desperately to destroy.

Today, The Great Mother introduced him to her last present for the year, except his own doings.

...Version one Version 3 Version one...

His first thought, was of how beautiful she was. A true Grimm Lord, under his command until the die. She had pitch black hair, and a smile that would make him believe she was human. She wore a pure white dress, probably made out of some ancient Grimm breed for the exact purpose, and no shoes. The female Grimm Lord smiled at him, "I shall be under your command, Adam." she smiled.

Jaune was confused, as far as he knew, The Great Mother had never given him a name, and he had long since forgotten his original. "Adam?" he asked. The female Grimm nodded, "Adam, for The Great Mother wishes you to restart the human race." she smiled, as if she hadn't just mentioned genocide in a casual manor.

Jaune, now called Adam, nodded, "The Great Mother's will shall be done." The female Grimm Lord smiled. "My name is Eve. Now, let us plan the destruction of Vale, King of Earth." she smiled, skipping away.

...Version one Version 3 Version two...

His first though, was that there were seven of them. Seven fellow humans, each equipped with similar weapons and armor, all made from Ancient Grimm, all of it older than he himself.

The Great Mother had given him a simple task, in it's basic form. Kill every human other than each other, and recreate the human race. The orange haired girl had called the black haired man, apparently they had known each other since before their memories cut off. Which was reasonable, as The Great Mother might have decided to raise the two together, perhaps they complemented each other. The red haired girl, wearing the full outfit of Death Artifacts, named Eve, was also raised with another, a blond haired girl, her sister apparently, name Pandora.

The Red haired girl, named Litith, seemed to take special interest in him. Slowly, the eight of them began to plan the destruction of the Four Kingdoms, and take back their land. As the eight Divine Rulers of Earth planned, a man named Ozpin had an ill premonition.

...Version two...

He had existed since before current human civilization. He had been a mere Beowolf when the Gimm had been introduced. In fact, he even remembered the start of Vale, the day humanity split, and the first time he ever killed a man. He had tasted great.

Though it had been countless eons since them, or at least five thousand years, the man still acted in his disguise. Every time he killed a human, he would pretend to be one, or strike from behind, or even live an entire life, and orchestrate tens or hundreds, sometimes even thousands of deaths, of food, just so he could taste human flesh. It had been almost a thousand years since he had done something like that though, so Jaune, Lord of Grimm Lords, decided to live another life again.

He decided to go to Vale, as a Hunter this time, since Yang, Lord of Ursa, had told him of how fun it was. He enrolled in the best school, sure he could go through any Aura test by releasing one of his tricks, perhaps saying he had a large amount, maybe a 'defensive Semblance'.

He had made it through every test, using his cunning, honed to a fine edge by millennia of plans, and his intelligence, carefully grown since times long forgotten.

Quickly, once he had passed every test, and took the place of a criminal, having just gotten a fake ID enrolling as a student, he bought every history book and weapon's manual he could find, acting like an enthusiast. He quickly found that men had recently, to him at least, rediscovered The Crystal, calling it Dust this time. Very well, he thought to himself, I can play along.

He had made it to this 'Beacon' rather easily, a floating device, called an airship, taking them there without hassle. It was almost as advance as his own 'airship', he chuckled to himself. It was once he had landed, however, he found a problem.

For, huddled in the bushes, near the side of campus, where absolutely nothing could hear, were the Grimm Lord of Beowolves, and the Grimm Lord of Nevermore, were having a hushed conversation.

"You dolt! What you exposed one of us!" Weiss whispered. Ruby sighed, them whispered back, "I didn't know you were going to be here!" she whispered aggressively. Slowly Jaune walked upon them, "Please tell me there's not any more." he asked calmly. The two jumped, and stared at him. "Jaune! What are you doing here!" they both yelled. The Lord of Grimm Lords shushed them both, "I've been out of the loop for too long, and decided to get back in, and the first thing I see when arriving to my destination is two Grimm Lords arguing, so, if you please, tell me there are no more her." Jaune explained.

"I'm afraid that's not the case, it seems like we're all here." Lie Ren, Lord of King Taijitu, said from behind him.

...Time Skip...

...Version two Version 1...

Jaune sighed, "So, what's the game plan?" he asked. Ruby answered first, "Get through a single life together, and go our separate ways again, I guess. Perhaps take down Vale before one of us is put in actual danger" she shrugged. "Same." everyone echoed. Jaune sighed again, "We should probably bring down civilization withing the next few hundred years. Anyone else grow some basic villages so we don't have to make sure one survives and stalk them until they can defend themselves?" Jaune asked. Everyone shook their head, "Nope."

...Version two Version 2...

Jaune sighed, "So, what's the game plan?" he asked. Ruby answered first, "I was thinking perhaps end this meaningless bloodshed, and find a proper place in Vale. It's not something we've done in almost fifteen thousand years, and I want to see if we can make an actual utopia using our power and knowledge this time." she smiled wistfully. Jaune shrugged, "Anyone got a problem with that?" he asked. The six remaining Grimm Lords shrugged nonchalantly, and Jaune sighed yet again, "Very well, do a lifetime of being Super Hunters, reveal we're Grimm Lords, if they reject us, we kill all of the four current kingdoms. If they don't we carve out a nice little home for a few thousand years. Anyone got any problems with this plan, speak now or hold your peace."

Nobody spoke. Ruby jumped up, "Alright!"
