I switched this chapter the current chapter 1. Go back and read it if you haven't.
Challenge: to make a necromancer in Rosario Vampire. This can be done with an OC, or by giving Tsukene control over necrotic powers. I have the examples of the White, Gray, and Black, paths below. (Feel free to not have to use the names I give, as I didn't spend much time on it.)
Powers: Control over undead creatures, the power to sense necromantic energies, and the power to make more of varying strengths. This is used differently in the different paths (a good necromancer who seeks to help the dead and living would not enslave the soul of a dyeing person inside their corpse, while his evil equivalent would, if he wanted to.) the White path does not raise the dead, except in defense, while the Grey and Black paths do. The Gray path allows the most abilities, but they are not as strong, or as long lasting (As a evil Necromancer may choose to be a Lich with more power, and white necromancer may choose to resurrect oneself.)
All necromancers can empower undead by touch, though inefficient, blood, though harmful to both sides, and other rituals. This can range from giving the undead their actual strength, to multiplying their physical power.
Necromancers are able to defy death by permanently giving up a part of their power to raise their corpse, the more power and skill the higher the resurrection. (A beginning necromancer can only unlock their own strength, while a powerful one can create a healing body. This ability can even turn the user into any type of undead, including vampires, and all their subspecies.)
Due to being magical in nature, Necromancers often have extremely high amounts of power, and are usually a bigger threat than what they are ranked as.
Limits:
A human body: As a Necromancer gets their power from a type of magic with no physical benefits, a human who practices it does not have a stronger body than a normal human, no matter how strong they are. They can learn other types of magic, but it is not as powerful as it would be otherwise.
Due to having a fundamentally human body, Necromancers are treated as humans until they die and turn into a Lich. For this reason, admitting to being a necromancer is often punished worse than being a normal human. This is only increased due to their control over undead.
Due to their connection with death, Necromancers often have seemingly suicidal tendencies, and other death related mental disorders, such as a drive to be undead, or to cut off their arms and legs and replace them with undead limbs. Some Necromancers spend their entire lives preparing to become undead because of this obsession.
... White Path...
I, Louis Skull, sat in a chair surrounded by monsters. In front of me especially, was a S-class monster, the leader of the High School Disciplinary Committee, what's his name, it was sad really, considering I probably have just as much power as he does, if not the body. Okay, I did not show any signs of being a yokai, they aren't suppose to either!
I sighed as the guy did some rant, trying to convince me that all my friends were being tortured, granted, I would have fallen for it and spilled everything if I couldn't sense Moka behind me. Since most species couldn't sense it, it is a very little known fact that necromantic energy can be used to find undead very easily. Since there was never any real need to make one, as only a few races could sense it.
Still, it allowed me to have a calm mind about this.
After a few seconds of logical thought, I was able to find a few other undead, and, by reversing the skill, find out that I was surrounded by the entirety of the Disciplinary Committee, and my friends. Sadly, even though Moka's true form could beat most of the club, it was either all of them, or their leader. I could probably take care of the leader, but I would have a lot of trouble, and might need help.
Similarly, I could probably keep the actual club st bay, but I wouldn't be able to beat them, and might need to rope in Kurumu or Mizore. Still, they wanted to make sure he wasn't human, right? Maybe he can prove he isn't going to do anything and they'll let me go.
Unlikely, but it's worth a shot.
As I was still thinking, the leader of the Disciplinary Committee started on his evil speech. "We have all the evidence. The testimonies of your fellows all point to you being a human." he explained, a dark smile, ever so small, on his face. He made a small fire in his hand, showing several interviews, sound and all, with the person getting interviewed having a small black box in front of their eyes, one that did nothing to hide who they were.
It was really annoying, but before I could call it out, he started talking again.
"Including the ones you call friends." he explained, his smirk going wider. The fire changed to Kurumu, sitting modestly, surprisingly, in a single chair. "Are you really going to tell me you don't believe your friend is a human?" asked some mysterious voice. Kurumu leaned forward, clearly upset, "Of course I don't believe it!" the voice adapted rather well, "Tell me, what makes you so certain?" he asked.
Kurumu leaned back, a questioning look on her face, "Well, for one thing a human being can never even get into Yokai Academy." she explained. a valid, but flawed point. "Very well, then surly you must know what kind of monster he is, correct?" the voice asked, changing methods yet again. Kurumu thought for a moment. No! Don't use logic! I yelled in my mind. "No, I don't." she eventually admitted. The voice, seeing an opening, tried to confirm it, "You've never seen it then?" he asked, "Not once, right?" he forced out, deeming it safe enough to play his forceful card.
This is very complex for something made up on the spot. Does he always interrogate his violators in own head?
Kurumu gave up, "Well, it's just-"
Suddenly, the fire changed again, this time to Mizore. "But that's the school rule, we're not suppose to reveal our monster identities without a good reason." Mizore suddenly spoke. I, personally, was starting to get slightly annoyed by this round about method, so I looked to try to change his fire spell without him noticing. I don't think I can do anything about the square reality, shifting Illusions.
"Yes, your certainly right about that," answered a new voice, this one defiantly female. I think I saw that one in the line that arrested me. How many people does he have in his head? I wondered. "Well, then it just means that Louis is really good about obeying the rules. "Well," the voice admitted, "I suppose that's one possibility. But not turning into your monster form even after your good friends are in serious trouble? Come on, do you really buy that?" she asked, leaning just over Mizore's shoulder, forcing her to lean away.
"Just what are you trying to say?" Mizore asked coldly. The other girl smiled "Well I'm saying that your friend is a cowardly spineless, lily-licking excuse for a man!" the girl smiled.
"Ouch." I accidentally said out loud. "I didn't know sublimity wasn't appreciated here." The head of the Disciplinary Committee huffed, probably annoyed by my lack of reaction.
Mizore had said something, which I dearly hope was suppose to be an objection, but I didn't hear it. I did hear that it ended with "not a-"
When the fire changed again, I was finally able to mess with fire's spell, but I didn't immediately interfere.
The fire switched to Moka sitting in the middle of a bright light. "We know, everything." a new voice claimed, once again male.
"No!" I screamed, "My obsession with Lolita is out!" I said, my face switching to one of horror. Every face turned to me, staring at me. I chuckled nervously, "I mean... uhh. noo, my... uhh... my search history." I finished lamely. Granted, if they saw how many dead people I searched, it would probably be seen as weird as well.
"We know you've been sucking his blood." the voice from the flame continued, though the spell was starting to wave because of it's maker's split attention. "Vampires. They love human blood, don't they?" he newly revealed 'cliche evil guy' asked. "Therefor, logic dictates he's a human!" the guy accused. Or a Necromancer, zombie, if the vampire's weird, orc, or any real hot-blooded monster. I was starting to tire of this.
Using my magic I took control of the spell, making it change into a very funny version of the fake interview. "No! Your wrong!" Moka violently objected. "I suck his blood because it's tasty!" The interviewer, scowled down at her, and, raising up a glass of water, set it down on the table dramatically. "That's not all, I've done my homework, water is a vampire's weakness." he smiled sadistically. "That's right... That's exactly what's in this glass! Pure water!" he explained.
As the light of the spell was about to end, a sudden sound of a door opening was heard.
"Your friends are going to wind up like those poor fellows over there." the head of the Disciplinary Committee explained. I really need to learn this guy's name. The guy snapped, and suddenly the three members of Moka/Kurumu's fanclub appeared, heavily beaten. "These three have been very cooperative. They told me all about that little fight they had with you. 'Louis Skull is so weak it was like fighting a human, we kept beating on him and beating on him and he never once tried to break his transformation.'" He quoted. I used defensive magic so I didn't have any injuries. They didn't notice that! "It's time to fess up," he commanded, an evil smile blatantly apparent on his face. "Just tell us the truth, unless you want Moka to end up lie those three."
Suddenly, a loud yell came over the room, one that the Disciplinary Committee head meant to sound like a scream of pain. I made it a loud scream of "Esquiador Gin Kick!" I did some minor water magic to make an exaggerated sweat drop go down my head. "Holy Crap! You mean those interviews were actually happening! I sat here so blandly because I thought it was just a spell! I'm actually a Wizard, and have a very human like body!"
The man in front of me looked around quickly, but seemed to except what happened, after sending someone off to investigate. "You claim to be a Wizard, do you have anything to back this up?" he asked. I sighed, "Yes, but I'm going to have to use my arms for this." I resigned. The guy in front of me motioned my guards away, before motioning me forward. Slowly I walked towards the three on the ground, and, using a healing spell I found in thee library, healed them of most of their injuries.
"Louis Skull has revealed his monster form against school rules. Punish him!" the guy commanded.
"Oh come on!" This is why I don't do combat! I'm still a human anyway!
...Grey Path...
"So all I have to do is show some supernatural power a human can't have, right?" I, Tsukune Aono asked. The monster in front of me nodded. "You could also simply go into your monster form, but that would work as well."
Since I was able to sense death energy, though not life, I was able to tell that Moka was not actually being tortured, but I still needed to clear my name. While my body may be human, my power is Death itself, so I count as a yokai, officially, A-class. Unofficially, S-class. As my human body is the only thing separating me from being a S-class, I was ranked as a powerful A-class, and my actual power was ranked D through A, though we could probably become powerful enough to rank S-class none have ever gotten that far.
As I had a controlling type ability, with the power of an S-class behind it, I was able to take control of the entire room, if given the chance. Because I knew this, and the Disciplinary Committee did not, I had created this scenario, slowly leaking out Death energy until I had almost every undead, and dead in the room under my control, from there I had spread out a Charm spell, similar to Kurumu's, and took over everyone here under a A rank, and half of those.
Since I had done this slowly, and without there knowledge, and had not activated it yet, the actual members had did not know I had done this. Originally I had done this as a safety precaution, in case they attacked me, but I think I could use it to prove I'm not a human, and make them know it would not be wise to attack me.
Nodding to myself, I slowly got up, making sure to not act in any suddenly way, I got up and stood in the middle of the room, and started to sing. "Calling all the monsters! Calling all the monsters!" I sung in a low voice, making the uppity human song sound slightly creepy, and ended each sentence with a powerful charm spell, which activated all the spells in the monsters I already had under my control.
"Calling all the-calling all the monsters" I made a different voice sing beside me, a actual girl this time, who had red hair, this one a zombie. I had several others step besides us, forming a diamond formation behind us. I made several other monsters sing the song, so I could concentrate on the actual performance.
Adding in some seemingly random combinations of both undead and living, in random patterns, dancing around me and several others in a large circle. I started organizing how the song would go, and how much power I would need for it. Since I couldn't take over that many high-class monsters, I concentrated on the lower level ones, using the B-class and the A-class as the dancers around me, and meat-shields. When I was done organizing everything, eventually deciding to use about half my power in the performance, in case I needed to fight afterwards, I stepped back into the song.
"Gonna get your body shaken, wishin you could just awaken." I sung, myself and several high-class monsters advancing through the crowd "Here we go!" some of ten of them sung at the same time. It sounded surprisingly good.
"We're commin to get cha!" the ones surrounding me sung, as I slid on the air about a tenth of an inch above the ground, tapping the illusions that kept Moka, Kurumu, and Mizore out of my sight. "Tonight all the monsters gonna dance." I sung, a mocking smirk on my face. Taking the hand of Moka, I put a bit of necrotic energy into her body, gently pushing her body to say the right words for the song and similarly push to get her body into the right positions for the song.
I did the same, though with a Charm spell based on sight, to Kurumu and Mizore in the next two verses.
Finally, I made an illusion of Gin wearing a sombrero and a Esquiador outfit. I'm not sure why, but it seemed to fit rather nicely.
"I'm warning you! I'm warning you! I'm warning you!" every voice sung at once, all them members of the Newspaper Club slid together against each others backs, one per sentence.
Moka and I, as well as quite a few of the undead in the room sung the next verse. "We might just bite underneath the moonlight! More fun if you right! I-i-I'm already shaken! I'm warning you! I'm warning you!" each sentence was executed with a small slide forward, while each word was executed with a step in a circle like manor. "I'm warning you! I'm warning you"!
Now I had Kurumu and Esquiador Gin slid in front of the left side of the room, while Mizore and the undead red-head with a Bō staff, and Moka and I took the front.
The two of us leaned forward slightly, "I'm warning you! I'm warning you! Gonna get body shaken, wishen you could just awaken." I sung, taking opposite registers. A loud choirs of monsters sung the next line "Here we go!" Pushing our hands downwards, I cast a fire spell through everyone but Mizore, who single-handedly took the ice spell to cover the floor, due to her innate powers with it.
Holding hands with Moka, I flooded my body with a basic defense spell and had Moka jump back with nearly her full strength, causing both of us to land in the center of the crowd. Another small spell and we were dancing "Tonight all the monsters gonna dance, I'm comin to get ya!" I pointed across the crowd, sending a small amount of fire in random directions.
"Tonight all the monsters gonna dance! Comin to get cha! If. your always dreamin. why I hear ya screamin! Tonight all the monsters gonna dance." We sung, the monsters under us doing dances hinting at what they were, though I, myself didn't know many of them, giving them the subconscious order made my power seem all the greater. "Comin to get ya, coming to get cha!" they sung, this time without my full control. I wonder when they'll realize they could easily escape now?
I let myself drop, falling into the crowd and let all the girls sing, and started dropping the power of the spells, very slowly, until it similar to perfecting a song when singing karaoke.
"Calling all- Calling all the monsters! You are painted red, gettin inside your head. (Head! Head!) Like a day require, playin with fira! (Fira! Fire~)" Now was the hard part. Pulling a trick straight out of fairy tails, I used a wind spell to deepen my own voice. "Get your body shaken, wishing you could just awaken!" I sung. Once again, everyone started singing again, hiding my own voice inside a stream of others. ""Tonight all the monsters gonna dance! (Da~a~ance~) Get cha! Tonight all the monster gonna dance! We're comin to get cha! If your only dreamin why I hear you screamin! Tonight all the monsters gonna dance! (Coming to get ya, coming to get cha)! eah! Eaah! Eeaah!"
Freezing the crowd briefly, I realized them from the remnants of the two spells.
The head of the Disciplinary Committee growled. "Let him go." he commanded. I smiled, "Okay, does anyone want to do a second song!" I asked, a layer of charm magic going through to make them speak their mind. "Keep it PG-13 people!"
"Do you wanna build a snowman!"
"Let it go!"
"1000 Fists!"
"What does the fox say!"
"Roar!"
"No!"
"Necromancer!"
"Rise against!"
"Me against the world!"
I gathered all the sweat on my face, though I hadn't done much, into one large drop on my face. "Well, I guess we've got time. Stations people!"
...Black Path...
In front of me, Insert Name Here, was the great vampire, Alucard. Obviously I stood no chance, and would preferably have this great monster as my lord until I stabbed him in the back and killed him, thus taking his place.
Unfortunately I couldn't do that, as Alucard was currently trying to kill him because he had helped his girlfriend Moka. Just goes to show you, you can't help anyone in this world. I thought dejectedly. Still, the small amount of Vampire blood I had in my system let me use Moka's own powers, and would turn me into a vampire if I could keep alive a few more years, and that would give me an extra life. Can't win all of them.
Still, I could clearly see a glaring weakness to the great vampire. His murders. Yes, a physiology condition caused by regret could probably keep him from attacking, but I don't that would work. What I meant, was the actual people who he killed, many of which had apparently vowed to kill him, or see his death.
In short, he had a massive amount of dead that wanted him dead. I could easily fulfill their desires, if they had their help.
"Do you see that, Mikogami?" I asked. The Lich nodded. "I follow the White Path though, so I can't use them to help." he explained, nodding sagely. I felt a disturbing amount of hypocrisy in that moment. Probably because of how he uses the living. The three vampires around us exchanged glances.
"Alucard has a massive amount of ghosts haunting him, but Mikogami can't use that because he follows the White Path, which helps the dead seek peace, but not harm or control anything." their faces turned grim when they heard this, and I felt another smirk grace my lips. "Since I follow the Black Path, however, I could give them a portion of my power and, after multiplying it by their hatred, they should be able to do some massive damage to him." I finished. Moka smirked, "Trying to depress us with a new way to win, your a depressing guy, you know that?" she asked.
I had to laugh at that.
Summoning my scythe, a powerful necromancer spell, that summoned a staff for the White Path, a sword for the Grey Path, and, quite obviously, a scythe for the Black Path, I started commanding the ghosts. "Those who are dead, rise from your graves! Those who were killed, kill your murderer! Those who were killed, seek revenge!" I commanded. For a brief moment, I could feel their emotions, their hatred, their power gritting, grinding against me. The reason one turned from the Black Path.
Then, suddenly, the feeling stopped. The pain was gone, simply stopping what threatened to consume me. The most dangerous thing to a Necroancer.
The ghosts started at once, tearing large trenches into Alucards flesh, as others went deeper, driving down to find his true self, and drag that to the beyond. I can help with that. I thought. Multiplying my power through the ghosts and my scythe, I cast my strongest attack spell. "Rot, decay, O undead flesh, and show your true self!" The two took all of my power, but the effect was worth it. The second spell, though not directly attacking the flesh, forced Alucard into his true body, a small, relatively speaking, vampire. Without all the extra living flesh, the ghosts, given power by the first spell could attack Alucard directly.
This opened up anther option though. As Alucard's body was attackable by both the flesh and soul, he had to withstand damage to his physical body. "Kill him, would you?" I asked the four around me, "I think I'm done for this fight."
...Death...
This was entertainment! Creating Vampires so long ago had been a great idea, but even better were his Necromancers. Seeing the two combine, with the unpredictable power of a human, and the strength of a Vampire, boosted up with the power of Death itself, it made for great entertainment.
"Am I to believe you created Necromancers for entertainment, not to kill everything!" asked the powerful vampire in front of him, Alucard, "Doesn't Death have a scythe?" he asked.
Death cried fake tears, "Why do people just assume I want to kill everything? It's because I'm white isn't it! And yes, I have a scythe. it's just not out at the moment."
Random Sentence!: Preview of Death.
