Welcome to the second chapter of this short story! Hope you enjoyed the journey, because this will likely never be touched again. If anyone has any questions about the logic of this story, the answer is Kingdom Hearts. Any other questions, feel free to ask.

Hope you enjoy.

13 years later, Anna's wish for a friend would come true, yet not in the way she would have expected. It all began when she (as well as the entire Kingdom) learned that Elsa had ice powers! Anna had been scared, but not for herself, but for her sister, who fled into the night. Not wanting to leave her sister out in exile, Anna took it upon herself to bring her sister back.

Along the way, Anna met a grumpy ice harvester, Kristoff and his reindeer Sven. As if that wasn't odd enough, they also picked up a living snowman created by Elsa herself.

Eventually Anna was able to reach Elsa and tell her about what Elsa had done. She set off an eternal winter everywhere. Naturally Elsa didn't take to kindly to this and over come by Anna's persistence and her own fear, Elsa had accidently frozen Anna's heart.

Now, hours later, Anna could feel the ice penetrating her entire body, each heartbeat spreading the ice, one beat closer to death.

The blizzard was howling, raging in the night as Anna trudged along the frozen waters of the fjord. She was cold as ice, her hair turned white. All because her sister struck her heart with ice. There was nothing she could do to stop it, save for an act of true love, one she hoped she cold still find, if only she had more time.

Alas time was not something that she had. After returning to Arendelle she sought out her Fiancé Hans Westergard of the Southern Isles who had charmed the Naïve young princess into marrying him just like that. It was everything.

Then, when Anna attempted to kiss him and put an end to the horrendous nightmare, in hopes of the very least moving on with her life, even if it meant never seeing her elder sister again. It wasn't what Anna would have wanted, but after thirteen years of a broken heart and her failure at being able to bring Elsa home. But Hans revealed to her his true nature and left Anna to die.

But hoped seemed to come at the twigs of Olaf, who found Anna and managed to get her outside of the castle. Why you ask? To find Kristoff, who just might prove to be the salvation Anna sought.

"Kristoff!" she called out with every once of will. Alas it was soft, her breath drained from the ice and cold.

In response, the blizzard died. Anna shivered in pain, but was able to force her eyes forward. In the distance, she could see her valiant pungent Reindeer King. "Kristoff?" she whispered hardly able to believe it. One foot after the other, she continued towards him. But they were far from each other and Anna wasn't sure if she could make it to him.

However, something caught the corner of her eye. Turning her head, what Anna saw made her heart stop dead, and not from the ice that was in her heart.

Some yards away, but much closer than Kristoff was, was Elsa. Elsa? What was she doing here? The last Anna had seen of her was when she set a giant ice golem on her and Kristoff back at her castle on the north mountain. But that wasn't the worst part. She was kneeling on the ice, looking like she was crying, as a vengeful Hans stalked toward her a sword in his hand. Anna had no doubt in her mind as to what he was going to do to her.

Anna turned her head back to her front to see Kristoff still running towards her, much closer than before, but much farther than she was to Elsa.

Anna realized that she only had time to go to one of them. If she ran to Kristoff, a man she had only known for a few days, she might be able to save herself with a kiss of true love. Yet she hadn't known Kristoff long, and there wasn't a guarantee that the kiss would work. This was not a fairy tale. This was real life.

On the other hand, Anna was just close enough that if she went towards Elsa, there might be a chance to save her. That would guarantee Anna's own heart would freeze, but if she were to die knowing it saved her sisters life, then it would be better living knowing that she had cost Elsa hers!

Tears leaked in her eyes as she gazed at Kristoff, her last hope for a moment longer, before turning towards Elsa and with the last of her strength, raced towards Han's

Elsa remained motionless on the ice, not hearing the sound of footsteps approaching her. All she could feel was the emptiness in her heart. Anna… Her dear, sweet Anna. She was gone. Gran Pabby had warned her that fear would be her enemy, and now, thirteen years later, Elsa saw the truth in his words.

If only she didn't have these powers. All they brought was pain and death. That first night, she had frozen Anna's head and her parents had barely been able to save her. Then again, only hours before now, Elsa's deepest fear had come true. Anna's heart was frozen and instead of helping, Elsa had forced her sister away.

Elsa didn't know why she asked a complete stranger (though Hans was as far as Elsa knew, the only person who seemed to care about Anna now.) to care for someone that should have been her responsibility, but the response she got was far worse.

"She was cold her hair turned white. Your sister is dead!" Hans had told her. The words struck deeply into Elsa's heart. Anna was dead. With that knowledge, knowing that Anna had died by her hand, left Elsa saddened and defeated. She fell to the ground in agony, and as the blizzard dissipated, Elsa's will to live faded with it.

Anna. Anna! Elsa opened her mouth to scream her denial, but the word never left her lips as someone behind her shouted the words desperate to escape.

"NO!"

"NO!" Anna cried as she turned to face Han's raising an arm to defend herself against the steel blade that sought to cut through her. It didn't matter. Anna knew that she was dead either way, but she had to stop Hans before he killed Elsa.

Then a heartbeat passed and just a moment before the steel touched her skin, Anna felt the ice flood her body, freezing every nerve muscle and vein in her body, just as she knew it would. Her last breath left her body, and Anna felt her heart stop in death. She was free at last.

"Anna."

Anna opened her eyes. To her surprise, she was in an ice cavern. Yet it was warm and bright, not cold and dark, as she had expected death to be like. Heck she didn't under stand how she continued to 'be'. Death was not at all what she expected it to be. She thought she would be an angel, surrounded by clouds. Yet, she was still a human dressed in the exact same clothes as she had been wearing when she died and she was still as pink fleshy and beautiful as she was before she had been frozen!

What were the odds?

Anna took another look at her surroundings. She seemed to be in a cave, a large one at that. How did she get here. In fact, how could she get here? There didn't seem to be any openings in the cave for her to get in, let alone out. Yet, this all seemed so familiar. It was like something out of a dream.

"Anna."

Anna jumped, startled by the sound of the voice. She looked around, yet there was no one around. Scratch that, no one could be in this room. Anna saw no way out, so there was no way that someone could even get in. yet here she was.

"Hey. Can you hear me?" she called out, hoping that whoever it was that had said her name could hear here and hopefully help her find a way out of this cave.

All of a sudden, Anna felt something in her chest. It startled her, almost knocking her over, but before she could even think to calm her heart down from the sudden shock, a burst of light emanated from her upper regions.

"Wh-what?!" Ana cried her hands reaching up to cover the light coming out of her, but just as they reached up, a ball of light suddenly popped out of her, gently landing in her hands. Anna stared at the orb for a moment, before a distant memory came to her.

"I heard your voice… It cut through the darkness around me." A voice said as a small orb of light floated down to her. Anna extended her hands allowing the orb to rest in her arms. It felt so warm and for a moment, she didn't feel so alone. Maybe this orb could help her find a way back to her home and her family. It certainly couldn't hurt.

"All alone I followed the sound, into a sea of light, and found myself here, with you," the orb said to her.

Anna nodded, smiling at the orb. She had called out for help and above anything else, it had come to her when she need it most "You gave me something back when I needed it most; A second chance." The orb told her.

Anna looked at the orb confused. She had no idea what he was talking about, but he seemed grateful "I did?" she asked. All she had done was call out for help, there was nothing special about that.

"But" the voice turned sad "now I have to go back to sleep again.". It sounded regretful and scared, as if 'going to sleep' was something new and frightening, a tri into the deepest darkest unknown. Anna didn't know what that was like, but she knew what it was like to be scared. She didn't want this thing to feel like that. She wanted to help it if she could.

Anna frowned staring at the orb with pity and sorrow "are you sad?" she asked wishing she could do something to help this small light that as seemed desperate for an escape as she was.

The voice turned hopeful "would you mind, if I stayed here, with you?" It asked,

What was left of the child was indeed scared and he had believed that he would have died after what had happened to him. Maybe he had and this was indeed death before he was lost forever. Maybe his mind was making all of it up in order to cope with the pain he had been feeling. All he knew was that he felt scared and didn't want to be alone.

This little girl, whoever she was, she had saved him. He felt happy, something that he hadn't felt in a very long time. He wanted to stay with this girl for as long as he could. He didn't want to feel afraid, or be alone any more. Could she help him?

Anna smiled. How could she turn away this newfound friend when it needed her? As a princess she needed to help out anyone that she could. She needed his help too, if they were going to get out of this cave. "Sure, if it will make you feel better." She said smiling wide at the orb

"Thank you." The orb said, before it went and entered Anna's chest, sending waves of warmth throughout Anna's body. She closed her eyes and smiled enjoying this feeling. She had helped someone and even maybe, had made a new friend to help her in a time of need.

"It's you." she whispered, staring in awe at the light in her hands. She remembered that dream. All this time she thought that's what it had been and yet, on the edge of death, it came to her yet again.

The orb was silent for a moment, before speaking. "You once gave me a second chance for survival. You gave me a home when no one wanted me; you let me live life more than I ever thought possible."

Anna smiled, realizing he must have meant everything that happened to her. Every attempt to get Elsa to come out and play, every misadventure. Every day she spent alone, this little guy was right there beside her every step of the way, even if she had never realized it.

"Now it is time to return the favor." The orb told Anna "Gran Pabby was right when he said that an act of true love will thaw a frozen heart."

Anna tilted her head and looked at her companion in confusion. "How are you going to help me do that?" She asked, gesturing to the icy walls that surrounded them "I mean, we are kind of trapped in this ice cave. And last time I checked, outside, I was an Annascicle." Despite the terrible implication, Anna giggled.

The orb gently bounced in Anna's hands, before he began to speak again. "Anna," if Anna thought an orb could sound amused, this would be the time. "You helped me live by allowing me refuge in your heart. By giving up mine, I could help yours beat again. You wouldn't be alone anymore."

Anna's face fell, before realizing the meaning of the orbs words. "wait you mean you'll…" she trailed off, not able to continue her sentence.

The orb's silence was all the confirmation she needed. "No!" she cried. She gave her life for Elsa, she couldn't let someone die so that she could live. "There has to be another way!" Anna began rambling desperately trying to talk sense into the little ball of light.

The ball shook violently, as if it was shaking its head no. "Anna. My body is nothing but bones, my heart is nothing but dust. Only my mind, my soul remains, here with you, in limbo. If I stay here, you'll remain trapped, forever separated from those you love. If I help you escape, I'll move on to a better place, while you return home to a family that loves you."

Anna's eyes began to shine with tears. "I…."

A moment later, the orb began to shine brighter and brighter, until Anna had to cover her eyes from the light until warmth surrounded her.

At last, they were both free.

The first thing Anna she felt was warmth spreading across her body, as the ice that surrounded her dissipated into the air. The second thing she felt was her heart beating a mile a minute. The third thing she felt was the warm air she brought into her lungs as she took in a breath.

Anna shuddered as the air filled her body, her eyes falling downward as her limbs fell to her side.

The first thing she noticed? Elsa's head lifting up to meet her gaze. She had been kneeling. Why had she been… Oh. That's right. Anna had thrown herself in front of Han's before he could hurt Elsa. So why was she suddenly unfrozen. It didn't matter. She was alive, and so was Elsa.

Teal met ice as a large smile reached both of the royal sisters lips. "Anna." Elsa breathed before standing up and embracing Anna. Anna responded in kind, the love of both sisters radiating off one another in waves.

"Oh Elsa." Anna breathed, before Elsa pulled away and placed a hand on her cheek, feeling the warm skin underneath her fingers. "You sacrificed yourself for me?" she asked, tears of joy threatening to fall.

Anna's eyes widened. She had been given a second chance. The spirit within her had given up his very existence to ensure that Anna would be standing here today with Elsa.

But instead of explaining to Elsa of the events that she had gone through, she said three little words that meant so much to her. For an act of true love will thaw a frozen heart.

"I love you."

As Anna said those words, the ghost that remained by her side for all these years smiled as the two sisters were reunited. He gave her one last look, before blissfully fading into the afterlife.

Thats the end! Like I said, I didn't want to delete it, and I wanted to have closure with this fic, so hopefully everyone is satisfied. This is likely the last frozen related story to be written by me, outside of the still unfinished Frozen Judgment. If you enjoyed this, check out my other stories, my profile, and vote on my poll.
