Time flew since Kikyo tried to kill Kagome; She was reminiscing how everything got so far… it took years for her parents to finally forgive each other for all the damage.

Kagome suffered a lot at the expense of Kikyo controlling her husband, being diagnosed with bulimia and depression. The lasting effects, were still apart of Kagome, even today when things seemed better. Kagome and Inuyasha decided to seek Therapy, it was an opportunity to get professional help.
There was a lot at stake for the couple; the immense love they had was not enough. They had to commit to each to work out the past, live with the consequences. One of the first sessions the couple attended was rough.

It took Kagome 3 sessions, before she told Inuyasha that she had bulimia and depression, because of everything that happened. Inuyasha was shocked, of course he knew his wife struggled, but not to that extent. A part of Inuyasha blamed myself, and the debate whether of it could have been avoided, is still in discussion.
While they are currently in a good place, they also struggle as a team when making decisions.

Kagome told Inuyasha, that she was only considering getting back together on two conditions. He had to go to couples counseling with her, and he would never make her any promises.

Hesitantly Inuyasha gave her his word. He was disappointed, because in all of the damage caused, he knew it would be hard getting her trust back, if he ever could.

Sango is always with Kagome, keeping an eye on her, watching her stress levels. Ensuring Kagome takes her medication. Kagome would never be alone again, she lost her privacy because of her illness.
Kikyo was lost to the wind, no one ever heard from her; there was a tenseness because of the lack of news on her whereabouts. There was nothing that could be done, Sesshomaru had been hunting her down, and every time he got close, she disappeared. She's playing a game with Sesshomaru and unfortunately for him, she is winning.
The family doubts she will return to Japan or US, but they have eyes and ears waiting to see if she is stupid enough to return. Five years she has been underground, no one has been or heard from her, not her family or her friends. Sesshomaru suspects that someone is helping Kikyo stay underground, but can't figure out who.
