So, yeah, it's been a while. I had a hard time getting this one finished. I really wanted to bring more of the wrestling into the story. So, I hope it's not horrible.
Bad Case of the Wyatt's
"Skyler, thanks for joining us," Mark Cerrano greeted as the diva entered his make-shift office that he shared with Jane Geddes just hours from the beginning of Hell in the Cell PPV.
"No problem," she answered as she shook his hand and accepted the hug from Jane. She took a seat in the chair that Mark gestured toward. "So, what's up? Hopefully there is another title opportunity for me in the near future," she teased.
Both members of Talent relations chuckled. "In due time," Mark promised as he looked through his paperwork. "Actually, with the rivalry between Punk, Ryback, and Heyman dying down – the writers are planning on starting up another feud with the Wyatt's."
"Should be interesting," Skye confirmed. "Will I be a part of that as well?"
"Yes," Jane answered with a smile. "The fans have really loved your involvement in your brother's feuds, plus it really gives more attention to the divas and what they are capable of doing. So, the writers wanted to continue that success by trying get you more involved with the storyline with the Wyatt's."
"In doing so," Mark continued. "We're planning on inserting you into a possible romantic storyline."
Skye chuckled, "It's been a while since I had one of those."
Her last storyline relationship had been with the Miz back in early 2011 which ended in an on-screen photo scandal when naked photos of Skyler Grace were leaked on the internet. Even though Miz never admitted to being the one that had leaked the photos, the damage had really damaged Skyler's reputation and Miz dumped her in front of the RAW crowd after stating that her misfortunes were not good for his career.
"Please tell me it's going to be Rowan because that fuzzy red beard of his is so hot," she stated jokingly.
The two Talent Relations execs shared a laugh. "Actually," Jane stated. "In the midst of this rivalry with the Wyatt's with Daniel Bryan thrown in, the writers wanted to include the Shield with the hopes of a rivalry between those three and your brother happening in the near future."
"Obviously, things are still up in the air, but the writers are interested in a love storyline with you and a member of the Shield."
Skye sat up straighter the moment the SHIELD had been mentioned. The possibility of getting to have an onscreen storyline with Joe was very exciting "I'm totally game for that! So, how are the writers going to go about getting a relationship going with Joe and me?"
"Well," Mark spoke up with a hesitant smile. "It hasn't exactly been decided that Roman Reigns will be the SHIELD member that you'll be having the onscreen love angle with."
That halted any further excitement that Skye could possibly feel. Say what now? With a slight chuckle, she choked out, "Why wouldn't it be Roman? The chemistry is obviously already there and it's not like it'll be that hard to pretend."
"Well, you are such a diverse character," Jane explained boastfully. "You honestly could mesh well with any of them." Then she added, "Nothing has been decided as of right now, so it's still all up in the air."
Mark nodded, "We realize that with your personal relationship with Joe that it would be uncomfortable having an on-screen relationship with Jon or Colby, but creative are really interested in the possibilities with this storyline. It can really boost your career even more. Besides it is just acting and I know that you are capable of making it work. Do you understand?"
Slowly and reluctantly, Skye nodded. "Yeah, sure, I understand." Gearing off the topic of her potentially having to make out with either Colby or Jonny, she questioned, "So, when will all of this start?"
"Tomorrow night on Raw," Mark responded as he slid some papers across the table. "Your brother will be facing Ryback one last time in a Street Fight match. The Wyatt's will come out and attack. Bray will have a stare down with you and immediately becoming fixated. You'll find the story mapped all out in the script," he stated indicating the pile of papers now in her hands. "On Smackdown, Bray will cut a promo explaining his sudden fascination with you."
"You have any other questions," Jane inquired as Skye's eyes skimmed over the words that were typed upon the paper in front of her.
Her eyes lifted as her head swayed side to side, "No, I think this all sounds very exciting with the small exception of me having to possibly make out with one of my boyfriend's best friends. Especially in front of said boyfriend – I mean awkward." This comment earned a few chuckles from the other two occupants of the room and the meeting came to a close.
Mark stood followed by Jane then Skye and the latter shook each of the Talent Relations' hands then after a quick departing goodbye she stepped out.
Minutes later, she located Joe, Jon, and Colby warming up for their matches in tonight's Pay-Per-View. "Hey fellas," she greeted, hopping up onto a large equipment box so that they continue on with the pre-match routine.
Joe made his way over after fixing his tactical vest and placed a kiss against her cheek. "Hey beautiful," he murmured. His eyes fell upon the script in her hands. "How'd the meeting go with Mark and Jane?"
"Pretty good," she stated with a simple nod. "Apparently after my brother ends his feud with Ryback, he'll get into it with the Wyatt's and I'll be prominent focal point in the feud."
"That sounds cool," Seth commented. "What's the story angle?"
"Well, apparently Bray will have me confused as the reincarnation of his Sister Abigail who has been brainwashed by CM Punk," she revealed with a slight chuckle.
"Sounds crazy as hell," Dean declared with a perturbed look.
"Yeah, it sounds like it's going to be," Skye agreed with a tight smile which Joe picked up on unsurprisingly.
"Anything else happen in the meeting," he questioned with a raised brow. "I mean are you going to lock lips with one of them?"
She made a face and snorted, "No!" Shaking her head, she sighed, "But there was more to the meeting than just about the upcoming Wyatt feud." This gained both Colby and Jon's attention as well with the latter stopping midway through wrapping his wrists with tape.
"Out with it," Joe beckoned and she hesitated eyeing him cautiously.
"Well, I don't know if all of you have been told this, but after the feud with the Wyatt's dies down, the three of you will soon begin a feud with my brother too."
"Kick ass," Jon hooted. "I've been waiting for the opportunity to get my hands on Punk again." He shared a fist bump with Seth who nodded enthusiastically
Joe merely shook his head at the two of them before focusing his attention on Skye again. "And," Joe prodded sensing there was more.
"I'll be included of course," she continued smoothly. "Along the way I'll be put into a romantic angle."
This revelation made Joe laugh. "That's all? I thought you'd be excited about having a romantic storyline with me, babe."
"I would be if..." she trailed off and then gave him a sheepish smile. "You were the one that they were hooking me up with."
That wiped the smile off his face instantaneously. "What's that mean? Just who is it that's going to be in the romantic angle with you?"
Her eyes skimmed over to where Jon and Colby were standing looking dumbfounded. When her gaze indicated that it could be either oneof them, Jon scrunched his nose and responded with an, "Ew."
"Thanks," Skye retorted mockingly while he countered with "You know what I mean." She rolled her eyes.
"They can't be serious," Colby insisted with his own mild form of discomfort of the idea upon his face.
"Apparently, I'm so diverse that I'm compatible with any one of you," she added unhelpfully. "Their words not mine." Her eyes returned to Joe who was now standing there quietly as he digested the information. "Hey," she spoke up, regaining his attention. "Nothing has been decided and you better believe that I will be campaigning my ass off to make sure that the Shield member is you."
Seth came over and clapped the Samoan on the shoulder. "If anybody is going to make that happen, it'll definitely be your woman, big guy."
"Yeah," Jon piped up. "Even I can't out argue her."
"But, hey, we'll at least be in a storyline together," Skye pointed out happily. "Maybe I can talk creative into letting me get triple-powerbombed by you three or hey even speared."
"Why did all of that sound really sexual," Jon pondered thoughtfully.
"Gross," Skye groaned as she swatted at the Ohioan's shoulder. "I mean really, Jonny, did you really have to go there."
He smirked, "Just look who you're talking to, sweetheart."
For that, Skye could only roll her eyes yet again, but found that she was more concerned that Joe still had yet to say anything after she had revealed to them what Mark and Jane had told her. When Joe didn't even make a threatening remark at Jon for his comment or even acknowledge it with any sort of action, she flashed a worried look over at Colby who immediately caught on.
The two-toned wrestler cleared his throat, "Yo, Jon, let's let the couple have a moment alone, yeah?"
When the two other members of the faction made themselves scarce, Skye hopped off the large box, leaving the script behind, and grabbed at his hands which were messing aimlessly at his gloves. "Hey, you okay?"
He scoffed. "The WWE writers could actually be considering having my girlfriend making out with one of my good buddies... You can't be seriously asking me if I'm okay with that."
She released a sigh, "Joe, they haven't decided anything yet. Even if it does end up happening that way, it's just acting. It's not like I'm going to enjoy it. I mean those two jokers are like brothers to me."
"Acting or not, professional or not, I'll still have to witness you kissing one of them," he pointed out as he swiped a hand over his face. "Just think if the roles were reversed and I had to kiss another diva..."
The image of that actually happening made her grimace. "Yeah, I see your point. I'm pretty sure there isn't a door fashioned to the point of preventing me from killing a bitch."
That earned her a chuckle from her boyfriend and his body seemed to relax a bit.
With a small, relieved smile, she wrapped her arms around his waist, "Let's not think about any of that. Just focus on how we're going to be sharing the same ring again. Our first time had been so brief, but to think I could be more involved in the matches and like I said earlier perhaps be the recipient of a few of those moves that you three make so famous."
"Not a chance," he declared with a shake of his head. "As much as I enjoy having my head between those sexy legs of yours..." His grey-contact eyes gleamed with desire "Especially draped over my shoulder. I'm not into power-bombing you to the mat."
"Then the spear," she declared, grinning. "If Trish can be speared by Edge, I can handle it too."
Prying her arms from around him, he shook his head, "Babe, do you realize how hard it would be to perform that move on you?"
"You wouldn't be using the force you do with other guys," she pointed out with a chuckle and tacked on, "I trust you. Come imagine the crowd reception!"
"Not happening," he persisted, firmly. "I just can't, Skye. I don't want the other guys doing any of their finishers either especially Colby." He was obviously speaking of Colby's "Curb Stomp".
"I think you lack faith in my selling abilities," she pouted slightly offended. "I can and have taken hard hits before, Joe. Maybe not in this era of wrestling, but I can take it. I'm not some weak little girl."
"It's not that I don't think you're tough enough, baby girl," he quickly assured. "You're the toughest, most badass woman on this roster," he cleared with a presence of proudness in his tone. He swallowed and cleared his throat. "If something were to go wrong, if one of us were to slip up..." His face seemed to pale a bit which made her heart ache a bit at his intense concern.
"Hey," she whispered gently. "There's no point in discussing all of this now. We don't know what the writers have planned. I'm just thinking of all of the possibilities and you know how I'm always trying to find ways to bring more excitement to the Diva's division. I mean I've been given so many opportunities and the fans are eating it up! I just want to keep getting that same momentum, you know?"
"I know you do," he told her, pulling her back against his body. "I'll consider it, but no promises."
"Thank you," she replied, pressing the side of her head against his chest. "So, maybe you aren't keen on spearing me inside the ring, but what about outside the ring..." She grinned when she felt his chest rumble. "Perhaps you'd be into spearing me inside the hotel room later tonight?" Her arms snaked around his waist, her hands lowering to his posterior region and gave it a nice squeeze.
He grunted. "Hmm, you better not start anything, baby girl. Especially when you know you can't finish it."
"Fine, fine," she relented, removing her hands from that glorious ass of his. "You are on the top of the card. I guess you can spear me later."
"I'll even power-bomb you too if you'd like," he mentioned with a grin.
Pulling back, her eyes brightened. "Really!?" she questioned excitedly as she began bouncing up and down.
"You're weird," he commented, shaking his head. "What am I going to do with you?"
"I can think of a few things," she admitted naughtily as she pulled her hands up to slide up and down his vest-clad chest.
"Walk away, now," he ordered, gently pushing her away causing her arms to drop to her sides. "Or Colby is going to go into that Triple-Threat match without his tag partner."
"You are so easy," she snickered.
"Kiss me and get that fine ass out of here."
With a dramatic sigh, she held her arms open and soon she was wrapped up into his strong arms, feeling the dampness of his skin on his biceps from the water he had just dowsed his head with just before her arrival. "Good luck out there. Go win back those titles."
"I will certainly try," he chuckled and pulled her upward to her to her tip-toes so they share a slow and sweet kiss before pulling back. He dropped another kiss to her temple and released her. "Catch up with you later. Love you."
"Right back at you, big guy," she smiled. With a slight wave, she watched as he headed in the direction Jon and Colby had left earlier in and turned around to head to the Diva's locker room.
October 28th, 2013 Monday Night Raw
As she cheered on the outside of the ring, Skyler watched as her brother put Ryback into the Anaconda Vice causing the beefy wrestler to tap out, ending their scheduled Street Fight.
When Ryback cleared the ring, she joined her brother in his celebration and grabbed his other hand when the ref declared him the winner yet again, two nights in a row.
Then lights went dark and she suddenly felt her brother's presence standing protectively in front of her as her eyes tried to adjust to the darkness.
Moments later, a solitary light appeared from what looked to be the direction of the stage. She knew exactly who had arrived – The Wyatt family had been busy already tonight. Not only were Rowan and Harper in a match, but the trio had also taken care of Daniel Bryan earlier.
"Get out of the ring," Punk ordered as the trio approached with Wyatt at the helm, lantern in hand.
She does so reluctantly and backed away, feeling for the ropes blindly with her hands before finding them and climbing down. She didn't want to seem too useless so she quickly crouched down and began rifling underneath the ring for something that her brother could use to defend himself.
When her fingers wrapped around a kendo stick, she jerked it out and then stood. "Punk," she called out quickly. She faintly saw his form appear at the ropes. She made sure that he got the kendo stick before backing away when the Wyatt's had gotten closer to the ring.
Once the lights were back on, Skye found herself blinking and staring across the ring at the sadistic trio.
Within minutes Harper and Rowan (still clad in the sheep mask) entered the ring and was struck by kendo stick hits from her brother before the number game became too much for Punk to handle.
She made a motion to enter the ring to help him out, but was held back by the ref who obviously was looking out for her well-being.
As she stared up into the ring where Wyatt's henchmen had her brother backed into the corner and pummeling him with punches and kicks. "Let me go," she shouted at the ref, shoving him with all of her might.
In the ring, Harper had sent a huge kick to Punk's face sending her brother's body to the mat.
She rushed around and hopped onto the apron, ducking under the bottom rope intending to crawl over to her brother's beat up form, but paused midway when she stared across the other side of the ring when Bray had entered.
Their eyes locked and she felt absolute fear fill her body while Bray seemed to fall into a trance.
"Abigail," he gasped in disbelief.
She stared at him in shocked confusion before a hand wrapped around her ankle, pulling her from the ring and out of harm. The ref tugged her away while Bray's eyes continued to watch her slack jawed and fixated.
"I really don't like the look that Bray's giving Skyler Grace right now," Jerry King commented eerily.
"Yeah, what was that about," Michael Cole agreed.
"Well, it can't be good," JBL pointed out. "Though her brother has a bit more to worry about at the present moment," he added.
Inside the ring, Harper and Rowan pulled Punk up to his feet holding him up for sacrifice for their leader.
While she was held at bay by the ref, Bray's intense gaze left her form to glare at her brother who began to struggle in Harper and Rowan's hold. "What have done with her," the Eater of Worlds bellowed before slapping Punk across the face. With a wicked grin, he cackled. "I've been waiting for this."
Even with blood trickling from wound in his hairline, Punk glowered amidst the pain and jerked forward to head-butt Bray, sending the man staggering backward. The sudden movement distracted the other two and he quickly threw a few punches and kicks at Harper and Rowan before turning and being clothes-lined by the former.
Wyatt held a hand to the bridge of his nose and released a maniacal laugh before approaching Punk's fallen form again.
Skyler could only watch in horror as the man pulled her brother up, his body arched backward and his head cradled by Bray's gloved hand, readying him for his Sister Abigail finisher.
Bray's eyes locked onto hers again and stood frozen as the man shouted, "This is for you, sister!" With that, he kissed Punk's forehead and jerked his body around, sending her brother face first into the mat.
Wyatt dropped to his knees at Punk's fallen body with his arms raised up and declared, "The devil made me do it." His cackling ceased and his gaze returned to hers before the room when black again.
On Smackdown, Skyler Grace could be found watching as Bray Wyatt put Darren Young into his finisher then executed it effortlessly. The Wyatt patriarch laughed maniacally before dropping to his knees at the fallen forms of the Primetime Players.
Swallowing, she felt the chills fill her body when Wyatt stared into the camera and shouted, "I'm coming for you, sister."
Suddenly the screen went black and she nearly jumped out of her skin when a hand touched her shoulder. She jerked around to find the Bella's staring at her in concern.
"Are you okay," Nikki questioned, gently.
"You don't look so hot," Brie pointed out as she retracted her hand from her shoulder.
"I'm fine," Skyler found herself saying automatically with a tight smile.
The twins didn't look convinced. "Are you sure that you're up for our match tonight," Nikki asked, reminding her of their 4 diva tag match along with Natalya against AJ, Tamina, Alicia, and Summer Rae.
"Girls," Skyler reiterated. "I'm FINE."
The twins nodded slowly. "We'll see you out there."
After bidding them farewell, the twins left the diva standing there by her lonesome once more.
"I'm good," she whispered as she shook her shoulders trying to rid herself of the uneasy feeling that had engulfed her when those demonic eyes of Bray Wyatt pierced through the screen.
She didn't have the safety of her brother to rely on since he was still recovering from the Wyatt beating a few nights prior.
Swallowing, she released a shuddering breath before deciding it was time for her to push all of this Wyatt business to the back of her mind and focus on her upcoming match.
Slowly, she walked away from the monitor and soon found herself walking aimlessly down a hallway. After a few minutes, she stopped and glanced around, realizing she had veered off course and was no longer heading toward the gorilla. In fact, she wasn't sure just where she was.
When her eyes took in her surroundings, she saw that she in a long corridor that had very little lighting and worse a lack of other people milling about. Yep, this was definitely not where she wanted to be.
Running her fingers through her hair, she tried to steady her breathing as she spun around to go back the way she came. The place was eerie and she refused to stay there any longer.
As she quickened her steps, she halted when she got the sudden feeling that she was being followed. Glancing over her shoulder, she quickly saw that no one was in sight, but that didn't keep her standing there. She hurried onward.
"Abigail," the name seemed to echo somewhere far away, but yet felt so close. It wasn't loud, but it so close.
She didn't know where it was coming from nor was she planning on finding out. Her steps quickened to a very brisk walk when she heard the name being called out again.
She felt the fear seem to shake her down to her core as tried to quicken her pace more, rounding a corner all while looking behind her for a member of the Wyatt's.
She screamed out when she collided with something solid. She bounced backward, landing hard on her ass on the floor below. She crawled backwards quickly before lifting her gaze upward finding the three stares coming from another trio – the Shield. She found herself relaxing immediately. Even though they were just as lethal and intimidating, they were less scary to the eye.
"Walk much," Seth Rollin joked, still glistening with sweat from his tag match with the sandy haired man to his left.
Skyler paid him no mind as she glanced behind her, ignoring the offered hand of Roman Reigns. When she didn't see or hear any trace of a Wyatt, she released a soft sigh of relief.
"Well," Dean drawled. "Isn't this an interesting sight..."
This regained her attention and glared up at the trio before swatting away Roman's hand as she scrambled to her feet.
Dean smirked, "You look like you're running from a ghost, sweetheart."
"Why do you care," she retorted, trying to steady her voice. The last thing she wanted was to look weak in front of the Hounds of Justice.
"What part of my statement indicated that I cared," he countered with narrowed eyes.
Skyler went to make a snappy remark back when a noise behind her caused her to jerk around, stumbling backward in fright where the three men were standing causing her crash against one of them.
It wasn't until she felt two hands grab each her by the sides of her arms did she glance back meeting nothing but chest. Her eyes moved upward into the steel eyes belonging to the silent Roman Reigns.
"What's got you spooked, baby girl," he questioned lowly, not easing his grip even a little bit.
She wrenched herself from his hold, "Don't touch me!" He held his hands up defensively and scowled.
"Easy there," Seth stated calmly when the Samoan's form seemed to tense in aggravation. His eyes gazed at the woman who was now glaring at his large stable mate. "It might be a good idea if you just mosey on..."
"Gladly," she snapped, turning on her heel and storming away.
"What the hell was that about," Seth asked as the other two men watch as the diva disappeared around the corner.
"She's a woman. Enough said. Let's go. We have better things to worry about," Dean commented in disinterest. He slapped the Powerhouse on the back. "Let's go big guy."
Roman stared deep in thought in the direction that the fiery Skyler Grace had disappeared in before shaking his head, "Let's head out."
A half hour later found Skyler inside the ring going one-on-one with Tamina. Even though she tried her hardest to keep her mind on the match, she kept getting the same unsettling feeling that something was going to happen and it was causing Tamina to get the upper hand.
While the Bella's and Natalya cheered on the apron in her corner, she quickly ducked under an oncoming clothesline and jumped up, executing a swift dropkick sending the daughter of Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka to the mat.
As she readied herself to finish her off, the lights went out and everything causing the match to stop. Her breathing stopped and soon the lights were back on. She glanced quickly around the ring expecting the inevitable arrival of the Wyatt's, but didn't see them.
Then she saw movement on the stage and her eyes finally sought them out. They were just standing there. Even though they were so far away, she could feel their eyes on her.
Swallowing, she backed away and turned around to flee, but was quickly met by a huge boot from Tamina sending her crashing to the mat.
As she clutched her mouth, Tamina went for the cover, but Nikki broke it up before the ref could get to the count of 2.
The distraction managed to give Skyler enough time to crawl over to her corner for tag to Brie.
When she rolled out of the front of the ring, with her back against the steel steps, her eyes were on the Wyatt's still standing there.
Bray took a few steps forward and she found herself clambering to her feet in fright.
"Skye," Natalya called out to her friend who had stumbled over the steps and was heading backward toward the announce table as the three men continued making their way toward the ring.
"What the hell are they doing here," Michael Cole asked in alarm. "And what do they want with Skyler Grace?"
"I don't know, Michael, but Skyler doesn't look like she wants to find out," JBL observed.
As the commentator's just sat there, she moved past their table toward the timekeeper's area where there was a break in the barrier into the crowd.
By this time the Wyatt's were bypassing the action in the ring where AJ was now fighting Natalya. With the exception of the two divas in the ring, the others were watching the action outside the ring as well wondering what on earth was going on.
Skyler found herself amongst the fans and watched as her pursuers halted. Bray gazed at her, grinning ear to ear. "Come back to be, sister," he called out her, beckoning her forward.
With her eyes wide in alarm, she quickly turned around and jogged through crowd to get as far away from Bray Wyatt as she could.
Thoughts? How was the insertion of Skye is the Wyatt/Punk storyline so far? Is it believable? Interesting? Let me know! Thanks!
