Chapter 13: Episode 13

"I got us a whole bunch of crabs!" exclaimed Kosaka, returning to the table with, indeed, plates that were stacked full of crab legs.

"Geez, you're embarrassing us," Hinata groaned around a mouthful of rice. Just when she was enjoying her meals served at the hot springs buffet, the clown had to show up with his loudness.

"Why did he have to come with us?" Mao wondered with dismay.

"Well, I had an extra pass, so why not?" Akise said.

"Even so…" pouted Mao.

"By the way, whatcha got there, Detective Junior?" inquired Hinata, bringing attention to the small notebook that Akise had been writing in for some time. "Writing your own diary?"

"I suppose you can say that."

"Haha! I've been writing my own diary too!" Kosaka said. He proudly held up his Smartphone and a thumbs-up.

Hinata executed the proper reaction of making a face and giving out a baffled "Huh?"

"This is my Kosaka King Diary where I record all of my brilliant moments!" he explained.

"What's up with that?" Mao muttered.

"What're you, an elementary student?" Hinata remarked dryly.

"What? No, I'm not!"

The girls then took notice of the apparent status title that flashed on the phone's screen. Akise glanced at it and said, "It's a rented post. You get ranked by the number of posts you put on."

Hinata sighed again. "Honestly, what's up with you guys? You're both just copying Yukiyori."

"Now that you mention it, I wonder how she's doing," mused Akise, his lips flattening to match the thoughtful look in his eyes.

"Maybe she's dead," Kosaka said offhandedly.

The dishes on the table suddenly clattered when Hinata abruptly stood up with her hands slamming on top of the table. This aroused surprise from the other three, but there was a mask of indifference on the girl's face.

"Wh-what is it?" Kosaka said.

"I'm going for seconds," Hinata said nonchalantly before departing.

"Ah, Hinata," Mao said concernedly. And then she shrieked.

"What is it now?" Kosaka cried out.

"Hinata just referred Amano-san by her first name!"
