Chapter 3- The Elite's Burning Rose
"W-what's going on!" she held onto to Tyler, oblivious to his frozen stature as they were both trapped within one of the many rings of fire.
"Are you serious?! We're going to be roasted alive!" Shouted Troy, shielding his nose from the smoke that began rising from the fire. The deep hollow laughter only continued through the many screams of fear and panic the students were releasing.
"Stay back Lucario!" Ordered Russell towards the steel type who tried intercepting through the fire for it's trainer, but it held back, pondering through it's thoughts in a hurry and trying to piece together a rescue plan.
Celeste remained still within the ring of fire she was trapped in, solely staring up at the white cloaked figure at the center top of the gates, her head had shifted down towards the side, her eyes slowly closing with a tiny smirk formed on the right corner of her lips, "Hmph".
"This is really bothersome". the blue haired girl sighed, she slipped her guitar case off, holding it in her hands which she used to swing aside, blowing the flames away for a quick second, a quick second she had used to pass through the flaming ring without trouble, safely away from it.
"Ngh…." Rose rummaged through her pokeballs, pulling a gray colored one covered with tiny rhinestones, she held it out towards the fire, still shielding herself from the harsh flames along with Tyler, "C-carbink! I need you !" a bright ray of light shot out, revealing the mineral based pokemon who cooed towards it's trainer.
"W-what are you doing?!" shouted Tyler, glancing over at her which became a hassle through the rising smoke. She shot her hand up towards the sky, "Now! Use stone edge around the entire field!" she coughed from the smoke entering through her mouth.
It cooed along with it's trainer's orders, the gems surrounding its body had begun glowing, it spun rapidly in mid air, shooting down and piercing itself into the ground releasing the same light from it's stones onto the grassy surface. The lights had slithered across the entire area, forming themselves into tiny streaks of rays which had raced through the rings of fire, giant pillars of stones shot out in there place, glowing a magnificent blue which had destroyed the inferno rings.
They all dropped to there knees, gasping to the fresh air that was blowing away the ashy smell, "Well well….." the clapping from the cloaked figure had echoed throughout, ringing through each of their ears in a cringing manner.
"...wasn't that fun?" it chuckled with a hollow tone, Troy's and Russell's anger had reached it's peak, "Argh! Who the hell are you?!" growled both males in synch, holding a fist up towards the cloaked figure.
"Who am I?" a hand reached out from under the cloak, grabbing it's left shoulder and stopping, "...Why…..I am the hottest trainer in the entire academy, quite possibly in the entire world...I am the flame prince…..". He pulled his white cloak off, revealing himself to the entire crowd with a fiery leer, "...better yet known as the Elite's Burning Rose".
The Flames embracing the gates had exploded, fading away into smoke and leaving the golden gates of the school still in tact. "W-whoa…" mumbled several of the students now looking up towards the Elite member. He was tall, intimidating, with hypnotic royal blue eyes that countered the flaming red color from the fire under his command, his hair was hazel toned, being combed from the sides and back and left spiked from the front. Even his outfit was an intimidating factor towards all of them, complimenting his light tan skin and perfectly sculpted build, he wore a black chrome tux with a white rose in the front pocket, a white vest, a black onyx button up shirt that was loosely unbuttoned from the front, followed by a loose tie hanging around his collar, he had a white belt, revealing the white belt buckle symbol shaped like a flame in the center, his shoes had white cross symbols on the fronts of them.
"Elite's...Burning Rose?" mumbled Celeste, staring intensely at the all too familiar colorful stone being used as an earring in his left ear.
He looked down at the white rose in his front pocket with a tiny devious snigger, pulling it out and holding it up to his nose, breathing in it's toxic aroma, his eyes settled downwards, shooting an unexpected devilish grin towards the female audience who swooned for him. "It's a pleasure to see so many fresh and old faces".
He pulled the flower away from his face, revealing it being ignited into flames by unknown causes. A skin crawling roar had rung through the air belonging to the fire breathing lizard pokemon he owned, Charizard. It soared down from above the skies, stopping behind it's trainer in mid air and releasing a flame through it's nostrils. They all became curious towards the fire type's mysterious chest plate, silver and engraved with heavy inscriptions, in the center of it all was the exact same colored stone the Elite boy had.
"Humph!" he jumped off the gates tip, striking the floor with a perfect landing, his charizard following right behind, also landing with a ground rumbling stomp. "My name is Hector, I am the Elites Rose title holder, but over my course of reigning as the fire specialist, I have earned my fair title of the Flame prince, or by other's, the Burning Rose". He walked over to Rosebella, handing her the rose he held previously, she was stunned to find that it was no longer white, but instead a bloody fiery color.
"So you're one of the Elites…..you're one of the trainers I must defeat in order to be the best out there…..correct?" Everyone turned to Troy, stunned by his sudden tone of voice and words.
Hector nodded, unaffected by the blonde haired boy's behavior, "Correct, Defeat me and I'll willingly hand over my title as the Rose to you, however, if you wish to become the champion of the Elites, you will not only have to defeat me, but defeat my other three allies, only then will you be worthy enough to go face to face with the Champion herself, Luciana". He circled around Troy, holding a devious and playful smirk as he examined the trainer.
He stopped, facing the opposite direction while touching shoulders with Troy, "I must warn you though…...the Elites are for those who are willing to sacrifice everything in their power to become the best…...do you have what it takes?" his voice was hushed and cold, waves of nonstop chills ran down the blonde's back, but he avoided them, keeping a tough front to the Burning Rose Elite.
"I have nothing to sacrifice, but I sure as hell have the heart and soul to defeat the Elites, that's more than enough for me". They stared into each others eyes, having an intense stare off which had thrown the others off, suddenly making them anxious.
He chuckled for a quick second, stopping as he shoved his hands into his pockets, "I'm afraid a heart and soul aren't enough to get you on an Elite's level, you have much to learn about the path towards being the best amongst the world". his words and voice remained within Troy's mind, he didn't respond back, merely keeping a blank expression and allowing Hector to walk away.
"Wait…" he turned his head, looking back to see Russell blocking the Elite members path, his arm stretched out in front of Hectors chest. He no longer held that playful goofy expression, but rather a serious and somewhat intimidating aura surrounded him, he stared into Hectors eye with his single one, a tiny spark ignited between the two, a factor noticed by all.
"What". he responded back, waiting patiently for what Russell had to say, everyone watched with anxiety, unable to keep up with the intense atmosphere suddenly happening around.
"My goal in life is to find the strongest trainers in the world….and battle them, to defeat them, if the Elites are considered the strongest in the world, then I have found my path towards starting it, I will take you on, along with every other one of your members, and one by one, you'll all face defeat in my eye, so be prepared….for when we meet on opposite ends of the battlefield". Hector remained quiet, still piercing into Russell's single orange colored eye, a tiny curve appeared on the right end of his lip, he closed his eyes, laughing quietly to Russell's words, amused yet fired up to them.
"I'll be looking forward to it, I've been wondering when the day would come where a trainer makes my heart race during a battle….perhaps it could be you….or". He shifted his eyes over to Troy whose hands had balled up into fists, "...You….my hopes have risen up for you two, don't disappoint me". he brushed past Russell, then by Tyler where he stopped for a bit, keeping his head facing forward, "...Maybe even you.." he whispered, chuckling softly for only Tyler's ears to hear, yet he wasn't responsive to the Elite's action in any way, rather ignoring it as Hector left.
"Seems like things will be more interesting than I expected". Celeste chuckled, throwing her arms carelessly in the air to stretch, making her way far from the group of students. She followed the path back into the woods, unaware of the snoozing boy resting on top of one of the tree's branches, the light had moved in between the branches, hitting him in the face directly which had caused him to open his eyes, revealing the emerald green color within them.
"Mnm.." he mumbled, sitting up as he rubbed his eyes, parting his mouth open to release a loud yawn and arch his back to crack it. He slid his hand over his wavy hazel colored hair, making sure it was still kept into it's right comb over, several emerald color streaks were revealed. He turned over on the branch, letting his legs hang out as he jumped off, landing safely on the ground, he was above six feet, a well toned body and an envious golden brown skin shade.
"Hm?" He looked back towards the forest entrance, noticing Celeste's figure disappearing in the depths, "What the…." he kept staring, trying to figure out what just happened, blinking a couple of times to make sure he was awake, and then shaking his head repeatedly.
"Help!" his eyes shot open at the crying tone, everyone's attention was now directed at him, making him fear for a second that he was the center of attention.
"What's that?!" someone in the crowd shouted, he looked back once more, watching as a tiny bright light descended from within the forest, Hector's attention was now directed towards the same spot. A figure had rushed past him, leaving only a trail of dust behind, students gasped and began whispering when an Arcanine had appeared before them, both the glasses wearing boy and the brunette with blue colored eyes were on top of the fire type, holding an injured Leo in between their bodies.
"Mamo!" they looked back again, watching as a Mamoswine followed after, carrying Flygon on it's back, Hector rushed over to the two students, staring at Leo's injured figure with piercing cold eyes.
"What happened?" he then looked up at the two of them, they shrugged, biting their lips with hesitant looks.
"W-we don't know…..we found him injured in the forest, cradled in his Flygon's arms".
"This is bad...he needs medical attention, so does his Flygon…..you two, what are your names?" They pointed at themselves, questioning if the Elite was referring to them, he nodded.
Harvey quickly became hesitant, looking away instantly as he lowly mumbled his name out.
"I'm Harvey".
"I'm Eira".
"Harvey, Eira, I need you two to come with me, come". his charizard flew over, now having the responsibility of carrying Flygon on it's back with Hector as well, Eira called back her ice type, hanging on tight with Harvey as they were ready to take off once more.
"I'm afraid our orientation time has been interrupted at the moment, for now, I guess I'll have to have somebody else step in for me". Hector gave a quick wave to the group of students, taking off into the air, Arcanines figure had disappeared, running at incredible speed to keep up with Charizard's flight, following the Elite within the school.
"What could have happened?" Whimpered Rosebella, frightened by the way Leo and his pokemon were left.
"Those wounds…..they definitely weren't from a human….but a pokemon". muttered Leo, staring intensely at the ground as he pondered through his thoughts.
"You're quite the observant one". he was startled by the sudden tone of laughter, prompting him to jump back and take notice of the short male now standing beside him, a large grin plastered on his face as he kept his head facing forward. Leo looked down at the young boy, taking notice of his light brown colored skin tone, his wild untamed orange and red colored hair mixed with black streaks, when he turned up to face him he saw the dark purple color within his eyes, nearly becoming a hollow black.
*Why does this kid seem familiar?* he thought, still examining the young kid closely.
"My names Leonard, nice to meet you". he held his hand out, using the other to hold onto his Larvesta which he was carrying. The green eyed boy stopped, remaining quiet when Leonard introduced himself, "...Funny…...I'm Leonardo…..". he took the boy's hand, "But you can call me Leo". they both answered at the same time unknowingly, there eyes growing huge as they stared at each other in silence.
"A couple of Leo's…..you know the game will be intense". their heads snapped over to the blue haired girl, she brushed past them, leaving a trail of low devious giggles behind.
"What's that supposed to mean?" asked Leonard, sharpening his green eyes onto the bluenette, she stopped in her tracks, turning her head back with a blank expression, "When one life meets another life...something new is born". Her words stuck to them like a song, prompting them to watch as she made her way from the group.
"Those words….they were the same words a former champion told me in the past….but why is it such a blur?" sighed the orange haired boy, combing his hair in distress as he tried to remember who the person was.
"Look!" their conversation was cut short when heads turned towards the golden gates, they parted wide, allowing the two figures to cross through over to them. She was accompanied by Zero, both of them carelessly brushing off the many gawking expressions and looks of admiration they were receiving from the students.
"Welcome everybody, to Champions Academy, this is the golden gate to your new path in the pokemon world, My name is Luciana, and this is my right hand man, Zero".
"Hold on….you're the Luciana? As in the champion?" Pointed Troy, everyone's jaws dropped, she nodded with calmness, acknowledging everyone's expressions.
"Yes, I am also stepping in for my peer, Hector, I believe he has kept you all waiting way too long, please follow me". She led the path back in through the gates, the entire group of students followed close behind her and Zero.
"I can't believe it…...so she's the champion". muttered Rosebella, stumbling to the side as she lost track of her direction, she bumped into another figure, feeling a pair of hands slither around her petite waist and hold her, she released a tiny yelp, freezing on the spot immediately.
"Rose?" the other three males stopped as well, turning back to see Rose's stone like stature, the boy standing behind her seemed unaffected by her awkward behavior, a rather devilish smile curved onto his lips.
"Seems we meet again Rosebella". she quickly pulled herself away, standing face to face with him, more over his chest, "Blake". she whispered, gazing into his big round teal green eyes. He was extremely handsome, more that it was actually an intimidating factor towards the rest of the boys. He had auburn colored medium length hair, his fringe was combed into a windswept style. He wasn't as tall as the rest, but still tall enough to surpass Rose. He had a lean figure, with many freckles on his nasal bridge and cheeks, an aspect that had gained him the hearts of many girls who walked by.
"You know him?" Asked Tyler, curious about the unbelievably good looking male. She nodded to his question, hiding her hands behind her back and averting the gaze of blakes charming eyes. "Blake used to be my rival back in the Kalos region….we both aspire to become Master performers".
He nodded, "I will become the first Kalos King to break the system, I will show them that beauty and grace does not only come from the mind of a female". Luciana's ears perked up, she stopped in her tracks, snapping her head back and scouting directly towards the group, mostly towards Rosebella and Blake.
"Performers…." she mumbled, making her way back to them with Zero rushing behind her, worrying over what the Champion was now thinking.
"You two". they were shocked to find her standing before them now, a graceful smile crossing over her lips as she stared down at both teens.
"You two are performers?" they looked at one another and nodded, she closed her eyes and took in a deep breath.
"What's wrong?" questioned Russell, now getting confused along with everyone else. Zero sighed, crossing his arms together as he nudged his head over to the Champion.
"Luciana is a huge fan of Tripokalons and Contest battles, it's sort of a hobby and pet peeve of hers, it seems she has taken an interest in you two now".
"I want you to perform, right now, in front of everybody". she grabbed both of there hands, remaining calm and mature yet revealing her excitement to them.
"Both of us? " She nodded furiously, staring at them with eyes they couldn't refuse.
(Eira/Hector/Luis/Harvey)
"It's a good thing you brought him here right after finding this boy, his injuries are critical and it seems he has suffered several second degree burns, a few broken ribs, and a fractured arm, his open wounds were in need of stitches as well, approximately 50". Nurse Joy frowned as she examined Luis's body on the patient bed, he was bandaged from head to toe, his arm was covered in a cast while his wounds were closed with stitches, his breaths were being analyzed one by one through the oxygen mask he was wearing, a nauseating sight for Eira who couldn't stand to stare any longer.
"What about Flygon?" Hector questioned, looking through the double sided glass, staring at Flygon's resting figure on the bed, it was also bandaged all around.
"Flygon suffered massive damage as well, it has slipped into a deep coma at the moment, suffering brutal internal damage and several broken bones including a fracture wing, it will take quite a while for it to revert back into perfect health". Eira's body cringed to the Nurse's description, she was feeling more and more uncomfortable, something both Harvey and Hector had noticed.
"I just…" Nurse joy started, but she stopped as she continued staring at his unconscious body, sighing and closing her eyes, "...I can't believe someone would do such a thing, to use a pokemon's attack against a human is cruel, they have to be heartless to do such a thing".
"But….What kind of pokemon could inflict this much damage? A fire type maybe?" She flinched at both Hector's and Harvey's tone of voices, "No". They looked at one another, surprised at their similar action.
"Why do you say that?" Asked the pink haired woman.
Harvey practically glared at Luis's burns, "Fire pokemon inflict damage beyond irreversible, this wasn't a fire type, it was something else".
Eira crossed her arms, staring at him with an unsure look, "How can you be so positive?"
"Because….I specialize with fire pokemon, it is my job to know everything about fire and what it can do, the damage, the power, the types, I live to be one with the flames". Hector's eyes had settled over onto Harvey, his face more than serious.
"All in all, I have a pretty good idea of what type had attacked him".
"Who?" Asked Hector.
"This was the work of a dragon pokemon".
(Michael)
"What does the Frontier's Joker want with us?" he followed Michael from behind, looking over at the feminine tanned looking raven haired boy walking alongside him, his hair was spiky from all over and was kept untamed, several cyan colored streaks ran across his hair, he was then met with his sky blue toned eyes, only receiving a shrug from lean bodied boy.
"Ngh…" he muttered with annoyance, brushing his own midnight black colored hair, letting them fall back to it's medium length. He settled his light emerald based eyes onto Michael's back, acknowledging that the frontier was taller than him. He scratched his cheeks, letting his pale skin trace the line of his finger turning red.
"Hey, what's the big idea here, Why are we following you?" asked the blue eyed femboy, refusing to go any further and stopping.
Michael stopped, turning back to face both males who suddenly seemed a bit nervous from the frontier's heavy and frightening aura, "You're Mark and Rika, correct?" they looked at one another, nodding at him, he turned his back to them once more, shoving his hands into his pockets and continuing his way down the hall.
"Then I'm not mistaken, keep following me and all your questions will be answered".
(Champion's Stadium)
"How did we end up here"? Leonardo took his seat on one of the chairs, not minding that Leonard sat beside him, cradling his larvesta in his arms.
"It should be rather interesting, two performers, one stage, only one can stand out and make themselves the true star". They turned to the side, frightened by the blue haired girls sudden appearance, she had her legs and arms crossed, setting her guitar case on the floor carefully.
"W-where…..h-how….nevermind". Sighed Leonardo, closing his green eyes and waving the bluenette's action off.
"The names Mercy by the way, and no I'm not a ghost". they looked at one another, then at Mercy who still kept her gaze towards the stadium.
"Welcome to Champions Academy!" She had appeared on the rising pole centered on the field, holding a mic in her hand while Zero waited patiently beside her.
"Things haven't exactly been going as planned, such as this, but I feel you'll all find that what's in store for you is a bigger shocker than all of this, so as way to kick off the start of a new year, let's enjoy a stunning performance!".
Everyone's attention was now directed onto Blake and Rosebella, both teens who were basking in the crowds cheers and applause, a natural habit for both. They had pulled out a pokeball each, ready to throw them up into the air when a loud voice came over the speaker.
"Hm?" Luciana's smirk widened upon recognizing the voice, Zero shook his head in angst, also recognizing the voice.
"What the…" Tyler, Troy, and Russell had looked around, also trying to find the source of the voice along with everyone else. Celeste's figure was resting at the top of the stadiums walls, her legs hanging out as she watched with yet another amused look.
She giggled over the speakers, "Performances are a way to kick off a fabulous show, but a battle is the way to give it that glamorous edge!" A giant twister appeared in the middle of the field, swerving with specks of dazzling lights that had created a beautiful aurora rainfall over the stadium, the entire crowd was left in awe.
Zero's frown had slowly turned upwards into a sly smirk, "Who better to appear but the Princess of show herself".
"I figured she would reveal herself, well, at least my day is being spent in a pretty satisfying manner". Luciana chuckled, crossing her legs while she remained seated on her throne.
"I've never seen anything like this…" muttered Troy, losing his thought of consciousness to the beautiful sight, Russell and Tyler had already given in, staring widely at the beautiful light show.
"Who are you?" Shouted Blake and Rosebella together, an uninviting tone was behind their words, angry at the sudden interruption.
"Me?" she giggled once more, the pink wind was blown away, revealing a tiny, naturally long haired brunette standing in place, she had purple streaks running down her bangless head. Her eyes were a hypnotic sight, not even Blake's mysterious colored ones could compare to them, with the sun striking directly into the iris's they seemed as if they were staring into a hollow ice glacier, so powerful, yet so stunning. She was like a genuine porcelain doll, gentle, frail, but beautiful, an aspect Rosebella found intimidating and threatening.
They quickly took notice of the white dress coat she was wearing, it was just like the one Luciana was wearing, her gold tie shined under the light, hitting them harshly in the faces. The gold device strapped to her right arm was also a curious factor to their thoughts, all of them wondering what it was.
"She's an Elite". Troy's eyes narrowed down onto the small female, a Phanpy was by her side, growling towards both Rose and Blake in a challenging manner.
"You asked who I am?" she looked into Blakes eyes, he could feel the electricity between them, "Well you're about to find out". she aimed her right arm towards him, the gold device strapped to it had lit up.
