Olivia smiled at Fitz as he allowed his teammates to jostle him rather roughly onto their shoulders. He had stolen the ball just in time to stop the opposing team from scoring a goal that would've tied their scores and sent the game into overtime. Thanks to him, the Georgetown Men's Soccer Team was headed to the NCAA championship. She watched them run around the field with him on their shoulders, whooping and cheering his name. She smiled at him when his eyes landed on her. He asked them to put him down and they did, clapping him on the back as he walked away from them. He looked delicious in his navy uniform, sweat slicking his hair back and glistening on his face.
"How'd I do?" he asked when he reached her, lifting his jersey to wipe his face.
"Amazing! I'm so proud of you!" She shrieked when he lifted her off her feet and spun her around. She cupped his face, grinning at him as he put her down. He leaned down and pressed his lips to hers. She smiled against his mouth. "I can't believe my boyfriend's a big college soccer star."
"I am baby." He slipped his hands into the back pockets of her jeggings. "Wanna be my groupie?"
"Hey Fitz! Heads up!" Fitz looked away from her just in time to catch the game ball. He smiled at his team, all whooping and whistling.
"I don't deserve the game ball." He tossed it to a tall black guy at the front of the crowd. "That definitely goes to Harrison. He scored the last goal."
Olivia smiled as Harrison tossed it back. "Nah man. You saved our asses on that last play. It's all yours."
"You did us proud, Grant." Fitz smiled at his coach then looked down at Olivia.
"You want this?" He handed her the ball.
"Will you autograph it for me?" She smiled at him.
"Later." He pressed a kiss to her cheek, squeezing her against him.
"Are you really not going to introduce us to the lady, baby boy?" asked a tall, dark-haired guy with an English accent. Fitz smirked. Being one of the youngest guys on the team, and one of the only ones without facial hair, he had earned a nickname he couldn't wait to grow out of.
Fitz smiled at Olivia then at his teammates. "Boys, this is my girlfriend Olivia. She's a George Washington alum but we're not gonna hold that against her."
Olivia smirked at him. "Hold it against me all you want. I'm a proud Colonial."
"Those are fighting words in Bulldog country!" someone shouted from the back of the crowd of players.
Fitz laughed, giving Olivia's waist a squeeze. "Be nice, guys."
"Let's hit the showers, fellas." The coach turned to Olivia and smiled politely. "It was nice meeting you. You're always welcome at any of the games. Just don't wear any of that Colonial crap."
Olivia laughed. "It was nice to meet you too. Next game I'll be sure to be in blue and buff."
The team said their goodbyes then headed for the locker room, leaving Fitz and Olivia alone in front of the stands. Fans milled around them, headed for the parking lot. Fitz smiled as he held her against him. "Hi."
"Hi." Olivia smiled, wrapping her arms around his neck. "I must really like you to hug you when you're all sweaty."
He smiled at her, leaning down to kiss her lips. "You like me period."
"I suppose." She giggled against his lips. "You really need a shower, though."
"We could go to your place and take one together."
"I have to go to the gym then I'm having dinner with Abby. If we share a shower, I'll never make it." He smiled and nodded, knowing it was true.
"I guess I'll shower and go celebrate with the team. I'd rather be with you though." He gave her a sad face.
She smirked. Those eyes made her putty in his hands. "Stop it, Fitzgerald. I'm not gonna cancel my plans for you."
He shrugged, giving her a cute little frown. "Fine. I just want you to know you're very mean."
"I'll make it up to you. I promise." She pinched his cheeks, something only she could get away with doing. "Wanna walk me to my car?"
They held hands as they headed for the now mostly empty parking lot. They made it to Olivia's white Audi. She turned and smiled at Fitz. "Wanna see something?"
He lifted his eyebrows and looked at her quizzically, smirking a little. "Depends on what it is."
His eyes widened when she pulled her long-sleeved white shirt up a little, exposing her belly button then glanced around before unzipping her jeans. She pulled them down just enough to reveal the waistband of his banana boxers. She smiled at the shocked look on his face. "You said they were lucky, so I didn't want to take any chances."
"Oh my God." He couldn't say anything else. He just stared at her before advancing on her, pushing her back into the car.
Olivia placed one hand on his chest and wagged her index finger in his face. "No, no, no. Go shower then go party. We are not doing this."
Fitz gave her his sad face but she wouldn't budge. He finally frowned at her. "Fine. But I'm not gonna kiss you goodbye since you're being mean."
"Fine. Brat." She smirked when he turned to leave, reaching out to give his butt a smack. He looked back at her in surprise. "I love you."
He grinned at her. "I love you too, Livvie."
Olivia fixed her pants and got into her car then watched him head into the locker room. She drove to her apartment to change for the gym.
In the locker room, Fitz undressed and headed for the communal shower, already full of guys. They all grinned as he walked in. He smirked at them. "Alright, assholes. Let's do this."
"Where the hell did you meet a woman like that?" Harrison asked.
"The park," Fitz answered.
"So how old is she?" someone else asked.
"Thirty."
"Baby boy's got himself a cougar!" Stephen shouted.
"Does she have any friends?" Harrison asked. "Hell, is she thinking about breaking up with you? I could do some things with that ass!"
"That's my girlfriend, asshole!" Fitz shot him a look and they guys whistled.
"As a breast man, I found hers to be exceptional. The best ones are just big enough to fill up your hand, but still small enough that you can really grip 'em." Stephen sneered at Fitz. "They were pretty perky. Are they real? As an expert, I'm guessing they are."
"You're about to be an expert in getting your ass kicked," Fitz replied with a frown.
"Uh-oh, baby boy's in love!" someone shouted from the end of the row.
Someone asked, "So have y'all done it yet? I heard cougars are wild in bed."
"We have and that's all I'm gonna say about it," Fitz answered. He might have talked but Olivia meant too much for him to do that. She wasn't just some hookup. She was his girl.
"How chivalrous," Stephen joked. They left the showers and dressed in their team sweats then went to a local bar to celebrate.

"Do you have a bottle of wine I could borrow? I think I'm gonna pop over to Leo's." Olivia smirked at Abby as they parked in front of Olivia's apartment. They'd just finished dinner and Abby's evening apparently wasn't over despite the fact that it was nearly 11:30.
"I might have a bottle." They got out of the car and headed for the glass front doors where the doorman, Morris, let them in with a smile and a tip of his hat. "So you and Leo? I didn't think you two were still dating."
"We're not. He's insufferably arrogant. And I'm apparently a pain in the ass." Abby smirked as they got on the elevator. "But when we get drunk enough, we can tolerate each other enough to have fun. Plus I need a date for the Christmas party or I'm gonna get stuck with David Rosen on my ass all night."
Olivia laughed. David Rosen had become so enamored with Abby that she had to turn his business over to Olivia. Abby had turned him down a dozen times but he didn't seem to understand the concept of rejection. He thought Abby was just playing hard to get. "You've gotta hand it to the guy, he's persistent if nothing else."
"Infections are persistent, too, Liv." They laughed as they got off the elevator on her floor. They walked down the hall to her apartment and Olivia unlocked the door.
"So you're bringing Leo. Is that like a step in the right direction for you two?" They walked into her apartment and Abby flipped on the light switch.
"Well we—" She stopped short, her eyes fixed on Olivia's couch. Olivia turned from where she was hanging up her coat to look at her questioningly. Abby was still looking at the couch and Olivia looked too. Fitz sprawled the length of it, sleeping peacefully, a book splayed on his bare chest. Abby finally looked away from him to her best friend. "Who's that?"
Olivia blushed. "That's Fitz. Come in the kitchen so we don't wake him up."
She turned to head into the kitchen, grinning to herself. Of course, he'd come to her place after hanging out with her friends so he could see her. He was too cute. In the kitchen, Abby smirked at her. "So you're shopping in the junior's department now, Liv?"
Olivia returned her smirk. "It's not like that. He's…"
"Oh my god, you love him!" Olivia shushed her and she lowered her voice. "I can't believe you're dating someone so young! He's like 20!"
"Nineteen, actually." They both turned to look at the doorway. Fitz stood before them, his hair wild from sleep, his sweatpants hanging low on his hips. He gave Olivia a smile as he walked over, his bare feet slapping on the granite floor, yawning as he approached. He wrapped his arms around her waist, leaning over to rest his chin in the curve where her neck and shoulder met. Olivia turned her head to smile at him.
"Hi, sleepy head." She kissed the corner of his mouth.
"Hi." He smiled at Abby. "Hi. I'm Fitz."
"I'm Abby." She gave him a crooked smile, like she was holding back a laugh. "Nice to meet you."
"You too." He looked down at Olivia.
She kissed the corner of his mouth again. "Did you have fun with your friends?"
"Yeah. But I decided to cut the night short." He nuzzled her cheek. "I missed you."
Olivia blushed, reaching up to pinch his cheek. "What am I gonna do with you?"
"I like what you've been doing so far." He nuzzled her cheek until she turned so he could kiss her lips. Olivia giggled like a schoolgirl when he bit her bottom lip and wouldn't let go.
"You two are gonna make me sick." They stopped their canoodling, remembering Abby's presence.
Fitz smiled. "I'm gonna go to bed so you two can have a proper conversation about me."
Olivia laughed. "I'll be there in a bit."
He gave her one more kiss then headed to her bedroom. Abby waited for the sound of the door shutting before she looked back at Olivia. "Where did you find him? On what planet do nineteen-year-olds look like that?"
Olivia smiled as she shrugged. "We met in the park. He is cute, isn't he?"
"Cute? He looks like a Calvin Klein model! Does he have a brother? How old is his dad?"
Olivia laughed. "He doesn't have a brother and his dad is dead, Abby."
"What about his friends? Are they hot?" Olivia blinked at her. "What? Like you're the only one allowed to have a boy toy."
"He's not a boy toy. He's...special." She couldn't stop the toothy grin from spreading across her face. "He's seriously the sweetest thing, Abby. He makes me grilled cheese sandwiches and leaves little notes hidden everywhere for me to find. He sings to me! And he likes to sleep with his head in my lap while I'm working, just because he wants to be around me. He—"
"Liv, you're gushing." Abby smirked.
Olivia shrugged. "He just makes me… Ugh! I can't describe it."
"Can I have my wine so I can leave? You're making me nauseas." Abby shook her head. "Thanks for falling in love. Now I have to find someone else to be a bitter, cynical old maid with."
"I'm still cynical."
Abby smirked. "How can you be cynical with him wandering around looking at you like that? He worships you, Liv. It's a little upsetting, honestly."
Olivia was about to answer when Fitz's voice interrupted her. "Hey Liv!"
"Yeah?" Abby rolled her eyes at the way Olivia's eyes glazed over as she stared in the direction from which his voice had come. It seemed the young man mystified her best friend even in absence.
"Will you make me a sandwich?"
Olivia smirked, not wanting to consent to making him a sandwich in front of Abby. "What do you want on it?"
"That chicken from last night," he replied. "And can you toast the bread? And only put the Miracle Whip on one side?"
"Are you gonna burp him too?" Abby grinned evilly as she took a seat at Olivia's island.
Olivia smirked and pulled the bottle of wine Abby wanted from the refrigerator. "Here's your wine. Leave."
Abby laughed. "I think I'll stay a minute. Can I have a sandwich too?"
"I hate you so much." She went to the refrigerator to get the chicken cold cuts and Miracle Whip. "Fitz do you want me to heat up the chicken?"
Abby giggled in her hand and Olivia threw her a look. Fitz replied, "No. Cold is fine."
Olivia put his bread in the toaster then turned to look at Abby. "Why are you still here? Isn't Leo waiting on you?"
Abby shook her head. "No. I haven't texted him. I'm just gonna show up like I usually do."
"You don't ever worry that there'll be some other woman there?"
Abby shrugged. "There hasn't been so far. But if there was, I wouldn't be mad."
Olivia shrugged as Fitz's bread popped in the toaster. She turned and took it out of the toaster, placing it on a plate. "I don't understand."
"I don't either, Liv." Abby's phone buzzed in her purse and she pulled it out. "Speaking of the devil."
"What did he say?" Olivia spread Miracle Whip on one piece of toast then closed the jar. Abby read his text.
"He can't sleep. He wants to watch The Office." Abby smirked. "Now that he wants me to come over, I sort of don't want to come over."
"Right because if you go over there, he might think you like him like him." Olivia smirked at her best friend.
"At least he's got big boy hair, unlike Harry Styles in there."
Olivia frowned. "Who's Harry Styles?"
"The cute one from One Direction." Olivia blinked at her. Abby typed on her phone for a moment then showed Olivia a picture of Harry.
She hated to admit it but he and Fitz did have very similar hair, although Fitz's hair was quite a bit longer than Harry's. It was down to his shoulders, officially the same length as Olivia's springy curls. Harry was even wearing a headband. "Oh my god, my boyfriend has boy band hair…"
"He's your boyfriend?" Abby's eyes widened.
Olivia smirked. "No. He's the plumber. I just let him sleep in my bed because he did such a good job cleaning out my pipes."
It was Abby's turn to smirk. "I bet he did…"
"I'm officially kicking you out, Abigail. Get your booze and go." Abby laughed as she grabbed her wine bottle and hopped off her stool. Olivia walked her to the door with a smirk. "Tell Leo I said hey."
Abby smirked back. "Tell Harry not to stay up too late. Tomorrow is a school day."
Olivia laughed as she shut the door on Abby. She went back to the kitchen and picked up the plate with Fitz's sandwich on it then took it to her bedroom. She smiled at him as he sat with his back against the headboard, reading intently. She placed his sandwich on the nightstand then changed into her pajamas and cleaned off her makeup. He was still reading when she returned from the bathroom after washing her face. She climbed into bed with him. "What are you reading?"
"Poetry for lit class." He handed her the book. "I don't like it."
She read through some of the pieces. "You don't like it? These are beautiful poems."
"Maybe I'm just not a poetry person. None of it has a point. It's just words that sound nice together."
"You can't read everything looking for a point. Poetry points aren't explicit." Fitz smiled as he watched her read intently. He moved to lay between her legs and rest his head on her chest.
He wrapped her legs around his waist, tilting his head back to smile at her. "Read to me."
"All the girls you've ever loved, I think I loved them too.
Interlude for the grand sonata.
Every mouth you've ever kissed
was just practice.
All the bodies you've ever undressed
and ploughed into
were preparing you for me.
I don't mind tasting them in the
memory of your mouth.
They were a long hallway,
a door half-open,
a single suitcase still on the conveyor belt.
Was it a long journey?
Did it take you long to find me?
You're here now,
welcome home." She ran her hands through his hair. "That's beautiful."
He smiled up at her. "You're beautiful."
"And you're too lazy to read to yourself," she replied, wrinkling her nose as she smiled back at him.
"I think I like it better when you read to me." He held his sandwich up for her to bite. She took a bite then went on reading.
"Come with every wound and every woman you've ever loved;
every lie you've ever told
and whatever it is that keeps you up at night.
Every mouth you've punched in,
all the blood you've ever tasted.
Come with every enemy you've ever made
and all the family you've ever buried
and every dirty thing you've ever done;
every drink that's burnt your throat
and every morning you've woken with nothing and no one.
Come with all your loss, your regrets, sins, memories, black outs, secrets.
I've never seen anything more beautiful than you."
She was halfway through the book when she realized he was asleep. She took the plate off his stomach and set it on the nightstand then nudged him gently. He sat up sleepily so she could lie down then turned over and resumed laying on top of her, his head on her shoulder.

Olivia moved quietly around her bedroom, not wanting to wake Fitz. It was 7:45 and he didn't have class until 11. She, on the other hand, had to be at work by 8:30. She slipped on a navy Diane Von Furstenberg wrap dress. She grabbed her white gold Movado watch from the dresser and tried unsuccessfully to fasten it herself. She frowned when she realized she would need help. She walked over to the bed and looked at Fitz's peaceful sleeping face. She hated to wake him, especially after keeping him up so late the night before, but she needed his help. She gave him a gentle nudge and he rolled onto his side. His eyes fluttered but didn't open.
"Fitz," she whispered, her lips close to his ear. His lips immediately began to search for hers and she smiled at him. She placed her finger against them and his eyes fluttered open.
He gave her a sleepy smile and yawned, "Good morning."
"Good morning." She held out her watch to him. "Can you fasten this?"
She watched as he sat up, the sheets falling off his bare chest. He fastened her watch onto her tiny wrist then pulled her down on his lap. He kissed her chin, mindful of her claret colored lipstick. "Why are you leaving so early?"
"I have to get to work." She ran her fingers through his sleep-tousled hair.
"Were you gonna leave without telling me bye?" He lay his head on her shoulder and yawned.
"I was gonna give you a kiss but I didn't want to wake you." She stroked his stubbly cheek.
"I can't believe you have to leave so early. I haven't been up at this time since high school."
Olivia smirked. "I love how you say that like it was so long ago."
His teeth grazed her neck. "Haven't you learned your lesson about teasing me yet? Do I need to teach you again?"
She's received quite a few spankings—all of which she'd enjoyed thoroughly—for teasing him, and while another lesson would have been delightful, she needed to go. She turned to smile sweetly at him. "I've learned. I'm sorry."
"You don't look sorry." She was impressed by how quickly he turned her over on his knee. Agility was something else he had over men her age. His hand pressed firmly on her lower back, holding her on his thighs.
"Fitz. We can't. Not right now. I've gotta leave in a few minutes." She couldn't help the way her breath hitched when his hand ran over the swell of her backside. He gave her one slap, just hard enough to sting and start a fire in her core, then removed his hand so she could stand.
"You'll get the rest later on. That's a promise." He stood and went to the bathroom.
Olivia smirked at his back as she slipped on her powder pink Kate spade ankle strap pumps. She went to her dresser and brushed her hair back into place then went to her closet to get her coat. She texted Quinn to pick up coffee for them then grabbed her ivory cape coat. She put it on and grabbed her powder pink Kate Spade Beau bag—an indulgence she hadn't been able to deny herself—then went back into her bedroom. She wondered where Fitz was after finding the bathroom empty. She went to the kitchen and smiled at the sight of him starting her Keurig and placing her travel cup underneath it the spout. She leaned against the doorframe, practically swooning as he went to the refrigerator. He returned to the counter a moment later with a cinnamon raisin bagel to put in the toaster. She couldn't help snapping his picture to send to Abby. He wore only plaid pajama pants, hanging dangerously low on his waist, and his hair was still wild from sleep.
Olivia tiptoed to him and wrapped her arms around his waist. "Have I told you lately that you're the sweetest thing in the world?"
He reached back to squeeze her hip. "You might've mentioned it."
She laughed as she nuzzled his shoulder blade. "So what are you doing today?"
"I've got class at 11 then tutoring."
"You're in tutoring?"
"I'm a tutor," he replied proudly. "I tutor this girl Amanda in calculus once a week. She's a hopeless case but the money's good. Her folks are loaded."
Olivia wondered what Amanda looked like, and just how hopeless she really was. Though she would never admit it, she'd faked dimwittedness once or twice to get a cute guy's help in school. She could certainly see doing it for someone as handsome as Fitz. "Is she an engineering major too?"
"I don't know." He shrugged. "I didn't ask. I don't really like talking to her. She just stares at me with these big dumb eyes."
Olivia sensed that "big dumb eyes" to Fitz were goo goo eyes to Amanda. She tried to maintain a straight face. "Is she nice?"
He shrugged again as her bagel popped out of the toaster. "She might be. I don't know. I don't talk to her any more than teaching her."
"Hmm." She took her bagel and tore off a piece.
"What?"
She shook her head. "Nothing."
Fitz frowned at her. "It's something. You made that sound you make when something's bothering you."
"I said it's nothing." She moved to get her coffee but he blocked her path.
"Liv…"
She sighed. "It's silly and I really don't want to talk about it."
"What?" He blinked at her, realizing what was wrong. "You're worried about Amanda? Is that it Liv?"
Olivia looked at her shoes, chewing her bottom lip. "I just… She's your age and I'm…not. And sometimes I worry…"
He stepped closer, taking her face in his hands. "Worry what?"
"That you're going to realize there are girls who are younger and firmer and more fun than me and you'll leave me. And I feel silly for feeling this way, especially since you've never given me reason to doubt you. I just…"
"Olivia…" She shook her head, looking down at her shoes. Fitz held her face more firmly, staring at her with a frown. "Olivia…"
She shook her head again. "It's fine. I'm being ridiculous."
"Olivia." Finally she lifted her eyes to look at him and her face softened. Fitz smiled. "There you are."
He leaned close and gave her the gentlest kiss she'd ever experienced. The tenderness of his hands and lips made her heart ache. She realized just how hard she'd fallen for him. "There is nothing in the world that could make me stop being crazy about you. Don't ever forget that."
She smiled and he traced it with his thumbs, looking at her just so. She tilted her head, looking at him the way he always looked at her then reached up to pinch his cheek. "You made me late for work."
He pulled her closer, pressing them back into the counter. "I can make you later if you want."
"No thank you, mister." After giving her her coffee and a kiss, Fitz sent her off to work, grinning at her as she walked down the hallway then going back to her bed. He loved that her sheets smelled like her, so sweetly feminine as opposed to the smell of weed and Axe that permeated everything in the frat house.

*two weeks later*
Olivia smiled at the sound of the doorbell. It was 8 o'clock. Fitz was right on time. Unfortunately, she was running 20 minutes behind. She answered the door, wearing only a sheer black half-slip and her underwear. Fitz grinned. "Damn, Liv."
"Don't even." She smirked at him. "I'm running twenty minutes late and I don't even know what I'm going to wear."
Fitz smiled as he walked inside. He kissed her forehead. "I'm gonna pour you a glass of wine."
Olivia held him close for a moment, just breathing in his clean scent. "Bless you."
He went to the kitchen and she went to her bedroom. She looked through everything and vetoed it. She was on her second pass through of her party dresses when Fitz entered. He wrapped his arm around her waist and kissed the crown of her head. She took the wine from him gratefully. "I can't choose."
Fitz looked around her closet. "You have too many clothes."
Olivia laughed. "That's not even possible."
He picked out a purple long-sleeved A-line Victoria Beckham dress with a geometric pattern that she'd bought on a whim. She had never worn it, having forgotten it among her other party dresses that she rarely wore because she did so little partying. "What about this?"
She considered it for a moment then took it from him. "You're a lifesaver."
"I'm pretty cute too." He watched as she removed her slip since she wouldn't need it then pulled the dress over her head. He zipped it quickly, holding her wine. She paired it with black pumps and a black clutch. Olivia stopped to study herself in the mirror. Fitz appeared behind her. "You look beautiful."
"I look like a teenybopper," she replied, examining the dress's flouncy skirt doubtfully.
"I don't know what a teenybopper is, but you don't look like one. You look perfect Livvie." He smiled at her until she smiled back. "Are you ready to go?"
"I suppose." She turned and fixed his red bowtie. He wore a simple black suit with a white shirt, and black loafers. "You look handsome."
He had even left off his headband to look more mature for her work crowd. "I had to clean up to go out with the most beautiful girl in the world."
Olivia pinched his cheek. They left her apartment and headed to her office where the party was in full swing. Olivia looked at him seriously as they walked in. "I'm gonna tell you this ahead of time: my partner Jake is an asshole. His whole career is nepotism at its finest because his dad owns the company. He's going to be snide and sarcastic and you should completely ignore him."
"I can do that." He looked around the crowd, wondering which one was Jake. Olivia held his hand as they made their way to Abby, who stood with a tall, dark-haired man.
"Liv you're here!" Abby exclaimed, enveloping Olivia in a hug. "I've been stuck with Leo for way too long."
"I wouldn't even be here if you didn't ask me so shut up," Leo said. He smiled as he moved to hug Olivia. He looked at Fitz over the top of her head. "Who's this?"
"This is my boyfriend, Fitz Grant." She smiled as she looked up at him.
"Boyfriend?" Olivia's smile faltered at the sound of Jake's voice. He smirked at he approached them. He looked at Olivia. "Liv, when did you get a boyfriend?"
"About two months ago," Olivia replied evenly. She loathed Jake and his entitled attitude. Fitz's hand pressed into her lower back comfortingly as she locked eyes with a guy he assumed was Jake. The guy was taller than him, and clearly older than both he and Olivia if his thinning hair was any indicator. She looked up at him with a smile. "This is Fitz Grant. Fitz, this is my partner Jake Ballard."
The two men shook hands, eyeing each other politely. Fitz said, "Nice to meet you."
"You too." Jake smirked. "You look really young. What are you like, 22?"
"Nineteen," Fitz replied. He frowned when Jake's eyebrows shot up.
Jake looked back at Olivia. "I didn't really peg you for a cougar, Liv. But it's nice to finally know why you never let me take you out."
Olivia blinked at him. "Don't you have somewhere else to go and be repulsive?"
"Shouldn't you be getting your date home? Tomorrow's a school day, after all."
Fitz bristled. "Hey man, why don't you chill out?"
Jake turned to him. "Or what? You're gonna beat me up at recess?"
Olivia stepped between the two men. "Cut the shit, Jake. Go somewhere else and be an ass."
Jake smirked at her and Fitz. "Cute. Cougar protecting the cub."
He turned and stalked away. Olivia turned to look at Fitz. "What did I tell you?"
"I hate that guy," he replied, still frowning. Olivia lifted the corners of his mouth until he gave her a real smile.
"Come on, Fitz. I'm gonna take you for your first beer," Leo offered with a smile.
Fitz smirked as Leo's hand clasped his shoulder. "First... Right."
As soon as they were out of earshot, Olivia's assistant, Quinn, raced over with the other twenty-something interns Adnan and James. Quinn exclaimed, "Oh. My. God. Where did you find him?"
"The park," Olivia answered, smirking at them.
"He's so pretty I could cry," Adnan gushed.
Abby concurred, "You wouldn't think something that young would look so good in a suit."
"Where do guys that hot even come from?" James asked. "I feel like there's some random farm in Idaho where they're bred like puppies and every 18 years they release like a dozen around the country just to torture us."
Olivia smirked at them. "He's coming back, so can you all please stop drooling like schoolgirls?"
"No promises," James replied.
Fitz smiled at Olivia as he wrapped his arm around her waist. She looked at the glass in his hand. "Aren't you a little young for scotch?"
"No one's ever too young for scotch," Leo interjected. He grinned. "I like this kid. He's funny."
Olivia smirked at Fitz. "Is that true? Are you funny?"
"I suppose I am. I always make you laugh." He gave her a cheeky grin.
Olivia pinched his cheek. "You think you're so cute."
"I must be. You're always kissing me." Olivia laughed and Fitz pinched her cheek.
"Didn't I tell you they were obnoxious?" Abby asked, nudging James.
He smirked. "They're obnoxiously cute and I'm so happy for them and not at all jealous."
"Not at all," Adnan agreed.

Fitz frowned as he looked down at Olivia. "That guy is staring really hard at you."
"What guy?" She looked around and her eyes landed on David Rosen. She smirked as she looked at Fitz. "That's David Rosen. He's the most awful person on the planet. He's worse than Jake."
"I find that incredibly hard to believe," Fitz replied.
Olivia frowned as David approached. She looked at Fitz seriously. "Go away."
His eyebrows shot up. "What?"
"He's horrible and he's going to be mean to you and I'm going to rip his throat out. So go away." She gave him a soft look. "Please."
"No. I'm not gonna leave you alone with him if he's worse than Jake."
Before Olivia could argue, David was before them, grinning icily. "Hello Olivia. Taking a break from butchering novels?"
"Taking a break from being a hack?" Olivia shot back, fixing him with an evil grin of her own.
David smirked at her then looked at Fitz. "Oh I see why you aren't at home stirring your cauldron. You're babysitting tonight."
Olivia bristled but quickly regained her composure. "David, this is Fitz Grant. Fitz, this is David Rosen."
David extended his hand. "Nice to meet you. I'd ask if you read my book, but you're not old enough to read, are you?"
Fitz smirked as he shook his hand. "I did read your book, actually. It's charming in a trite, rambling, musings of a narcissist way."
Olivia laughed. David didn't. He clenched his jaw. "And what is it you do that allows you to critique my work?"
"He's in education," Olivia replied before Fitz could answer.
Fitz gave her a confused frown then looked back at David. "I'm a sophomore at Georgetown. Are you implying I need some prestigious occupation to know your prose is elementary at best? It was a good plot. It's just a shame you didn't tell it with the eloquence it deserved."
David turned and indignantly stalked away. Olivia smiled at Fitz. "Wow. I've never actually gotten him to leave me alone before. You're good."
Fitz smirked. "I guess I am for a guy in education."
Olivia frowned. She hadn't meant for him to take offense. "I was trying to… I didn't want to give him any ammunition."
Fitz frowned. "Because the fact that I'm a college student is so embarrassing?"
"That's not what I meant."
"Well what did you mean?"
"That David's a jerk and I didn't want him to offend you."
"So you decided to offend me yourself."
"I just…"
Fitz rolled his eyes when she couldn't come up with anything to justify it. "You know the funny thing is, he didn't even react when I corrected you. So maybe it isn't him who has the problem with me being a student."
"I don't have a problem with it. I just didn't want someone like David Rosen to know. He's a huge gossip and—"
"God forbid anyone know the big, famous Olivia Pope is slumming with some frat boy." He stuffed his hands in his pockets. "I think it's time I left. Call me when you grow up a little."
Olivia watched him stalk out of the party toward the elevators. James appeared at her side. "You aren't really gonna let him leave like that, are you?"
"Not a chance." She hurried after him and hit the elevator button just as the doors snapped shut. Luckily, they opened and she was able to get on, despite the way Fitz glared at her. She waited for the doors to shut then looked at him. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have handled that the way I did. It's just…"
"Just what?" He gave her a hard look, not wanting to hear any more of her excuses.
Olivia bit her bottom lip. "It's just that I care for you…a lot. You're the most important person in my life. Sometimes I can't believe how much I love you. And I didn't want him to hurt your feelings. I didn't say the right thing and I'm sorry."
Fitz's face softened when he realized how sorry she was. "Liv you can't just jump the gun like that. I'm a big boy—some might even say an adult—and I can handle myself."
"I know." She stepped closer and wrapped her arms around him, laying her head on his chest. "But you're my sweet baby and I don't want anybody messing with you."
Fitz smirked at the top of her head. "I thought we agreed you couldn't call me that in public."
Olivia looked up at him with a smile. "It's just us in here."
"Good point." He turned her around and pressed her back into the wall, leaning down to kiss her. Olivia wrapped her arms around his neck, fingering the wispy curls at the nape of his neck. Fitz lifted her off her feet, wrapping her legs around her waist. His hands slipped under her dress and clasped her waist. Fitz moved his lips to her neck, sucking on the spot that made her legs grip him tighter as her hips started rocking against him.
She tugged on his hair desperately when his teeth sunk into her collarbone. Her head fell back and she moaned his name in a way that made him instantly rock hard against her core. He rocked his hips against hers, groaning against her neck as he pushed her dress up further to get to her breasts.
The elevator dinged and they both jumped, turning to see James standing before them. He gave a wide-eyed smirk. "Um, I'll just take the other one."
He stepped back and let the doors shut. Olivia looked at Fitz for a moment then laughed. After a moment, after his brain regained control of his blood supply, Fitz laughed too.
A/N: The poems used in this story were by Warsan Shire. The first one is called "Welcome Home." I don't think the second one has a title. Don't forget to review!
