A/N: So I'm back once again with these two. I love them so much. I get to be so fluffy with them that I can't stand it. A lot of people are wanting a full story but I don't have an angle on it that's a little more complex than their age difference. I'll let y'all know if I find one.

Olivia had just turned on the perfect music when Fitz rang the doorbell. She found herself grinning, almost skipping, to the door. She opened it and her grin widened as he stood before her, holding a bouquet of red tulips in one hand and a brown paper bag of Chinese food in the others.

"Hi," she chirped, taking the bag of food.

"Hi." Fitz smiled as he stepped inside and shut the door behind him. He stood before her, expecting a kiss, but instead found himself staring back at her as she looked at him questioningly. "What?"

Olivia smirked. "Just checking out your man bun. It's…cute."

Fitz self-consciously reached for his bun. "Well my hair's so long I've gotta do something with it."

"You just never struck me as a bun kind of guy. I like it, really." She reached out to caress his face, scratching his beard.

Fitz smirked. "I don't believe you."

Olivia set the food on the coffee table then went to wrap her arms around him. "I do. I promise. You look like that guy I like."

"What guy?"

"That singer, the Irish one with the long, dark hair. The one you took me to see last month."

Fitz smirked. "Oh. Hozier. I guess I'll take that as a compliment."

Olivia laughed. "I know you don't like him, but he's hot."

Fitz finally wrapped his arms around her, leaning down to kiss her lips. "I don't dislike him. I just kind of want to punch him."

After his concert at Georgetown, the singer had stayed behind briefly to sign autographs and take pictures. He had given Olivia an autograph and a picture, complimenting her on her "beautiful" smile and "heavenly" perfume. Olivia had gotten real kick out of his flirtation. Fitz hadn't, quickly pulling Olivia away.

"So jealous," Olivia teased with a smile as he followed her to the couch and sat down.

"He was trying to steal my girl. I wasn't just gonna stand there and let him." He pulled her onto his lap and kissed her. "Happy Valentine's Day, Livvie."

"I was wondering when you'd say it. You're a bad boyfriend, Fitzgerald." She smiled, holding his face. "Where's my present?"

"In the car," he replied. "I haven't decided if you've been sweet enough to get it."

Olivia smirked. "Go get my present while I get dinner on the table."

"And if I don't?" he asked with a smirk of his own.

He smiled in surprise when Olivia toppled him backward on the couch. She gave a dark smile. "I'll hurt you."

"I'll go get it but I think I'd still like for you to hurt me," he replied. Olivia climbed off him, swatting his butt when he stood. He smiled then headed outside to his car to retrieve her present. Inside, Olivia managed to get her fireplace lit by herself—something she'd never done before—then put their food on plates and set them on the coffee table. She was uncorking the wine when Fitz reappeared holding a shoe box.

"You bought me shoes?" Olivia was prepared to be horrified as she and Fitz had very different taste.

"Something like that. Open the box." He set the box on her lap and she jumped when it moved.

She took the lid off the box and gasped when a tiny puppy popped its head out. "Oh my god! It's so cute!"

"It's a teacup poodle. The guys at the house said girls love purse dogs." He smiled at how pleased she was.

Olivia lifted the dog out of the box. It could sit in the cupped palms of her hands. "What's her name?"

Fitz shrugged as he sat next to her on the couch, watching the puppy nuzzle Olivia's neck. "She doesn't have one. I've been calling her "asshole" cause she chewed up one of my favorite loafers."

Olivia laughed as the puppy sniffed at the wine of her lips. "You didn't mean it, did you? You were only playing, weren't you?"

"She's house-broken and everything Liv," Fitz replied. "The shelter wasn't sure how old she is. They said she might be about 8 weeks but it's hard to say because she's so little."

Olivia nodded as she set the puppy on a throw pillow. The little cinnamon-colored dog lay on the pillow and promptly drifted off to sleep. "So what's she like?"

He smiled. "The shelter people called her "the Duchess" because she seems to think she's royalty. She won't walk on a leash. She prefers to be carried. She only eats wet food. She refuses dry food, and she'll refuse wet food if she can have people food. She's sort of a dog version of you. She's allergic to seafood. She loves red wine. She loves having her picture taken. And she's cute as a button."

"I think I like Duchess." Olivia smiled as the dog awoke and looked around. "It looks like she already knows it's her name."

Fitz smiled. "So where's my present?"

Olivia reached beneath the coffee table and pulled out a box wrapped in shiny gold paper. She set it in his lap and smiled. "You wouldn't believe how hard it was to find."

Fitz unwrapped the box and opened it. He looked up at Olivia with a frown. "What is it?"

Olivia thought her eyes would bulge out of her head. "It's a Nintendo 64. Have you seriously never seen one?"

Fitz laughed. "Of course I have. My cousins had one when I was little. But by the time I was old enough for video games, they had an Xbox. And I got a GameBoy Advance since I didn't have anyone to play with."

Olivia laughed as she reached out to pinch his cheek. "My poor baby. I'll play with you."

Fitz grinned mischievously. "I hope so."

Olivia laughed, watching him set down the box. "Stop being a bad boy and eat."

He raised his eyebrows. "I can eat like a good boy. I'll even chew slowly."

"You're awful," she laughed.

Fitz sat back against the headboard, wondering what was taking Olivia so long in the bathroom. "Livvie, you're gonna end up naked regardless of what you're in there putting on so you might as well come out."

"I'm almost done," she called back then asked a moment later, "Did I ever tell you how I got into George Washington University?"

"I don't think so," he replied.

"Oh. Well then this should be really fun. Cover your eyes."

Fitz smiled as he covered his eyes with his hands. "All covered, which is the opposite of what I'm hoping you are."

Olivia grinned as she stepped into the room. "Okay. You can open them."

Fitz opened his eyes and his jaw went slack. Olivia stood before him, grinning proudly, in her Colonials cheerleader uniform. She had even pulled her hair back in a ponytail. She twirled around, flouncing the short blue skirt. "Can you believe it still fits?"

"I can't believe you never told me you were a cheerleader, Liv. That was definitely something that needed to be discussed." Fitz couldn't make himself stop smiling.

Olivia cocked an eyebrow at him. "So do you wanna talk about my cheerleading days or do you wanna have some fun with this uniform?"

"That depends on whether or not you and any of the other cheerleaders ever had any fun with those uniforms."

Olivia smirked as she climbed onto the bed. "Unfortunately my door didn't swing that way until grad school. But that's a story for a different time."

Fitz grinned as she straddled him. "So what should we talk about?"

"Well I'm failing math and I really need someone to take my final for me. And I heard you're good at math. So could you," she ran her fingertip over his bottom lip, "help me out?"

Fitz smiled, his hands creeping beneath her skirt. "I don't know. That sounds really risky. You've gotta make it worth my while."

He watched with a smile as she rolled onto her back and reached under her skirt to remove her pink lace thong. She held the flimsy garment up before his eyes. "Will these cover it?"

He took the panties and stuffed them in his pocket. "Definitely."

Olivia grinned as she moved to straddle him.

*one week later*

Fitz smiled as he unlocked Olivia's door and stepped inside. "Liv?"

"I'm in the kitchen," she replied.

He walked into the kitchen and was surprised to find her cooing at a little boy straddling her hip. He smirked. "Did you trade the dog for a baby?"

Olivia laughed. "No. Her Majesty is napping on my bed. This is Nicholas. My co-worker Edison and his wife needed a date night, and I needed someone to handle David Rosen's business for me. I've gotta say, I got off easy."

Fitz smiled as he walked over to her to take the little boy off her hip so she could stir his microwavable mac and cheese. "Hey little man. I'm Fitz. Can you say Fitz?"

"Fish," Nicholas replied.

Fitz laughed. "Close enough."

The little boy pointed his chubby index finger at Olivia. "Lib!"

"That's right." Olivia pinched his cheek and handed him his Bubble Guppies sippy cup. She carried his lunch into the living room with Fitz following her. They sat on the couch and Fitz set Nicholas on his feet in front of the table so he could eat. Olivia yawned as she tucked her legs underneath her and lay her head on Fitz's chest. He smiled as he pulled her closer and kissed the crown of her head.

"Are you sleepy?" he asked.

"Yeah." She yawned. "Nicholas is an attachment sleeper so I have to wait until he's tired before I can sleep."

"What's an attachment sleeper?"

Olivia smirked. "Some new age parenting thing where the parents and kids bond through mutual activities. There's attachment sleeping, eating, reading, etc."

"So in theory the more things you do with your kid, the more they like you?"

Olivia nodded. "That's the idea."

Fitz snorted then smiled as he looked down at Nicholas. The little boy's mass of dark curls were held back from his face by a navy blue headband that matched his navy one-piece. "Have you ever thought about it?"

Olivia shrugged. "Sometimes. But I'm a firm believer in timing."

"What does that mean?"

"When the time is right, I'll know it."

Fitz nodded. "That's very philosophical of you."

Nicholas turned to them, holding up his yellow plastic spoon. "Spoon!"

"That's right!" Olivia smiled. "Where's your cup?"

Nicholas put down the spoon and picked up his cup. "Cup!"

He leaned down and picked Nicholas up, holding the little boy up in the air. The toddler laughed, displaying his four teeth. "Hey bud, where are the rest of your teeth?"

The baby only grinned, reaching for Fitz's bun. Fitz stood the little boy up on his knees. "How old are you?"

"One!" he announced proudly, holding up his index finger.

Fitz looked at Olivia. "He should have more teeth than that, shouldn't he?"

"He's got back teeth, and some stubs." She leaned over to tickle his chin. "Smile, Nicky!"

The little boy broke into a grin and Fitz could see the teeth poking through his gums.

A few hours later, a desperate need for something cold to soothe Nicholas's gums sent them to the local grocery store. Olivia scowled at the pharmacist. "We need something to make him stop crying. He won't stop."

She looked around for Fitz and couldn't see him but could still hear Nicholas's miserable whining.

The pharmacist gave her an understanding look. "He's too young for anything I can give you besides Baby Ora-jel."

Olivia shook her head. "He won't take it."

"Ma'am, have you tried putting him to sleep?"

She barely held herself back from punching him in the face. "If I could get him to sleep, we wouldn't be here."

"Hey Liv, I think I fixed it." Olivia looked in the direction of Fitz's voice and her eyes widened at the sight of Nicholas contently gumming on a frozen carrot. Olivia walked away from the counter, shooting the pharmacist a look.

"How'd you know?"

Fitz shrugged. "Well when my joints are inflamed, I ice them. I figured it was the same logic."

She looked down at Nicholas and he smiled, the carrot between his teeth, the back up at Fitz. "I don't think I've ever loved you so much."

Fitz grinned. "I'm a hell of a catch, aren't I?"

A bag of carrots in tow, they left the store and headed back to Olivia's place, where Fitz convinced her that she needed sleep more than Nicholas. She dozed off for a few hours and awoke to find Fitz attempting to teach Nicholas to kick a soccer ball. She stood in the doorway watching him talk softly to the tot who didn't have the coordination to kick the ball, barely being able to lift one leg and remain upright, but Fitz's persistent encouragement made her smile nonetheless. He finally realized his attempts were futile and sat on the floor opposite Nicholas then rolled the ball to him. Nicholas smiled and sat down to roll it back, catching on to this game much quicker. Olivia watched them roll the ball for a few minutes before Nicholas yawned. He stood and walked over to Fitz, his little arms outstretched.

"I guess it's bedtime, little man," Fitz murmured, standing up with Nicholas in his arms and turning in the direction of the kitchen. "Do you want some milk?"

"Cup," Nicholas replied, laying his head on Fitz's shoulder.

Olivia followed them to the kitchen, watching as Fitz microwaved the milk. She smiled at him as she leaned against the counter. "Have you ever thought about it?"

"If by thought about it you mean did I take every possible precaution to not get anyone pregnant, then yes. I thought about it all the time." He laughed. "But I've never actually thought about being a parent. I''s always been about how expensive diapers are, and how you can't party when you've got a kid to support, and how my girlfriend at the time was a psycho."

Olivia nodded. "I always thought about how the guy I was with was still a child himself, and how I didn't have time to raise two babies. And how my dad left when I was 5 and I haven't seen him since."

Fitz frowned as the microwave beeped. "Your dad left you? I'm sorry."

Olivia shrugged, taking Nicholas, now drifting in and out of sleep, so Fitz could put the top on his cup and put the milk away. "I don't even remember him. Like I don't know what he looks like. I could pass him on the street every day and not know it was him. And I wonder if it's the same for me. I wonder if he could forget my face the way I forgot his. I wonder if it bothers him like it bothers me. And I don't want to take the chance of that happening to my kid."

"I think he remembers you. A kid isn't just something you forget. I mean, you don't spend nine months dreaming of a face just to forget it." He handed her the cup. Nicholas spit out his pacifier and took the cup.

Olivia smiled as they left the kitchen. "I think you're right. I hope you're right, anyway. It's more comforting for you to be right."

She handed off the baby then went into the bathroom to shower. When she came out for a moment to pin up her hair, he was pacing back and forth before the window, bouncing Nicholas gently and singing softl. She smiled, recognizing the song. "I don't want clever conversation/ I never want to work that hard/ I just want someone that I can talk to/ I want you just the way you are."

"I need to know that you will always be/ The same old someone that I knew/ What will it take till you believe in me/ The way that I believe in you?" she sang as she pulled her hair up before the mirror.

Fitz smiled at her. "I said I love you and that's forever/ And this I promise from the heart/ I could not love you any better."

Olivia smiled as she joined him. "I love you just the way you are."

"So what about us?" Fitz asked as he got into bed.

Olivia shook her head. "We can't have babies until we're married. And we can't get married until you're at least in grad school, or old enough to drink at the very youngest."

"So 3 to 5 years. I can do that."

Again Olivia shook her head as she undressed for her shower. "Well we can't have babies as soon as we get married. We've got to be newlyweds for a while before we become boring old parents asking co-workers to babysit so we can have dinner at Cocina Superior."

"And I wanna go to Europe for at least one summer. I mean, we could do that with a kid, but I think we'd have more fun without one."

Olivia laughed. "We could go one summer pre-kid, and then one summer post-kid to tell the difference."

"Sounds like a plan to me." Fitz grinned.

Olivia smiled back. "I can't wait to grow up with you."

When she emerged from the shower, she found them both asleep beneath the soft light of the long rectangular lamp above the heabboard. She smiled at them, both snoring gently. She watched their eyes flutter, both apparently dreaming. She climbed into bed and gingerly took Nicholas's cup, replacing it with his pacifier. She couldn't help hesitating for a moment as she reached to turn off the light above the headboard.

A/N: The song Fitz and Olivia sang is "Just the Way You Are" by Billy Joel. Don't forget to review! XOXOXO
