Chapter 21

Kagome's Point of view

"Miko don't move." Sesshomaru's deep baritone voice commanded slowly growing cold with each word.

"Why? What's wrong Sessho?" I asked worriedly.

"Sessho? HAHAHA! What's wrong youki? Afraid I will hurt my worthless reincarntation?" A voice that always grates on my nerves spoke up.

"Kikyo. What are you-

"Hush you know why I'm here so don't waste your breathe. You don't have much more of it after all." Kikyo smirked

My teeth gritted and Sessh hid his aura meaning he was close to pulsing it but didn't want to. Shippo groaned.

"Miss Kikyo this again really?" Shippo whined.

"Kit watch your tone." Sessh warned losing his patience.

Kikyo notched an arrow and prepared to fire. Auras were being flexed around me making it hard to concentrate but I was able to pull through and made her arrow go to high to hit any of us. I felt an aura burst out and soon after felt warmth from my nose. I touched under my nose and my hand came away red with blood.

"Oh terrific!" I muttered before letting my own aura out completely and it flexed dangerously around my focus. Kikyo.

"Kikyo is there a different reason besides InuYasha and your soul you hate me for?" I growled out.

Kikyo just laughed "Like what you worthless copy?"

I smirked gleefully as she pushed that final button. I may not hate her but I am tired of being compared to her by InuYasha, I am tired of being second place, second preferred. My aura burst around me and my power surrounded me.

"KAGOOOMMMEEE!" Sesshomaru yelled worriedly.

"Lord Sesshomaru it's okay! It's momma's abilities not Kikyo's" I heard Shippo declare and smiled.

THIS ENDS NOW KIKYO. NO LONGER WILL YOUR SOUL BE TORMENTED BUT PUT TO REST!

Kagura's Point of view

I watched the confrontation with a small cheeky smile before flying off and kidnapping the little human girl. Lord Sesshomaru is going to hate me forever. This is the second time I have had to do this.

"Tch. One of these days Naraku will not have slaves to do his dirty work, and from what I have seen today that day is soon." I spoke to myself.

I looked down and saw I was already over the demon Lord's pack. I took a deep breathe and swept down before laughing evilly. The little imp looked around frightened, but the two-headed dragon looked right up at me and growled. The girl looked up and yelled in alarm.

"Master Jaken! Look up!" She yelled at the imp, who looked up and gripped the staff in his hands tighter.

I landed and grabbed the feather from the air, and when the girl tried to hide behind the dragon I couldn't help but to smile inwardly. Using the wind I sped around the dragon and grabbed her, jumped into the air and landed on my giant feather. She was screaming until I pinched the ridge of her neck.

Holding her tightly I whispered "I am very sorry little one. I didn't want to do this again, I wouldn't have either if Naraku didn't have my heart."

She whimpered in her sleep as if in understanding. I flew slowly so as to not get her sick, nor to get her to Naraku any faster then necessary.

'She looks like the miko a great deal. Almost as if they are family I would say.' I thought to myself. 'They are both innocent enough and hold the same amount of wonder.'

When I saw the dark miasma of Naraku I physically shivered and held back a gag. Oh how I wish the air here was not so stagnant. It is just so wrong. So incredibly wrong, I just wish that we could have fresh air whenever we moved to another place for him to hide. But of course I don't ever get a say.

"Kagura, Naraku is waiting for the girl." A small empty voice called out to me from the ground.

"Ok Kanna, I'm going." I rolled my eyes to keep up appearances.

"Kagura what is wrong?" She whispered.

"Nothing Kanna. Just hate being here, you know that." I answered, loosening my grip on the little girl in my arms.

I kept walking until I was outside Naraku's little 'throne' room... if you could call it that. I wanted nothing more than to turn around and keep this innocent girl from his grasp.

"Come in Kagura." His voice called out to me.

I resisted the urge to crinkle my nose in disgust and walked in, vaguely tightening my grip as if I could protect her.

Naraku's Point of view

I felt Kagura enter the barrier only those under my control could enter and smirked as I felt the pure presence with her. So she succeeded in getting the girl from Sesshomaru, good. I heard Kanna and Kagura talking lowly, meaning they were inside and on their way. I smirked as I overheard the conversation.

"Kagura, Naraku is waiting for the girl." A small empty voice spoke to Kagura.

"Ok Kanna, I'm going." I heard Kagura say.

"Kagura what is wrong?" Kanna whispered.

"Nothing Kanna. Just hate being here, you know that." Kagura answered as they finally were outside my door.

"Come in Kagura." I voice called out to Kagura.

I smirked as I saw the faint amount of disgust that she was unable to hide. She was good at this game, but I was better.

"I brought the girl as you wanted me to." She growled lowly.

"So I see. Now I want you to go back out and inform the miko and dog as to what has happened to the girl but I want the miko in response." He smugly declared.

"What do you mean Naraku?" She snapped.

"In return for the little girl, I get the miko. But we will not give the girl instead they will get the slayer's brother ready to slay from the neko to the inuyouki." I smirked.

Her eyes widened and she very gently set the girl on a cot close to me. She nodded solemnly and walked out as I stared at the girl.

'She looks a lot like the miko. I could use this as leverage, I do believe.' I thought calmly.

Naraku so help me, you know this was not the deal you and I made. Free me!

'It will never happen Onigumo, you know that.' I responded already knowing it wasn't going to be a fun conversation.

Your plan won't work. You have yet to be able to kill that group, you will not succeed in getting the miko from the demon Lord and you know that. So STOP trying! You will lose to the miko you seek to weaken. A instinct from a miko like that is like the instinct of a demoness that is a mother and you know that!
