chapter 23:

Naraku's POV:

Those sad, simpering idiots thought they had bested me. HA! They couldn't best me without everyone in their group and then some. But it isn't like i couldn't assort them all. Infact, maybe i should… No, i must wait for my plan to reach it's end before i do such a thing.

Naraku, this wasn't our agreement. You said you'd get me Kikyo in exchange for being a host body. I don't see Kikyo anywhere! I see Sesshomaru's human ward. What is wrong with you!

Onigumo. Shut up. i mean it. Or I'll kill you.

That's were you're wrong hotshot. To kill me, you'd have to kill yourself. So ha!

At least grow up.

I hate it when he's right. But sadly it's true. To kill him, I'd to kill myself and then he might be able to gain control of his body again, fully healed and go after Kikyo, to make her his own.

I am grown. I have the burns of it remember?!

Oh dear Kami shut up Onigumo.

Whatever.

Oh great now he's going to pout. Just what i need. Stirring gets my attention and i look down to see Sesshomaru's human ward waking. I smirked. Good.

Rin's POV

The last thing Rin remembers was telling Master Jaken to look up and see one of those mean ladies that keeps kidnapping Rin and hiding behind Ah-Un… Wait. The mean lady with red eyes had grabbed Rin. Then everything went black when Rin was screaming. Where is Rin? Why is it hard for Rin to breathe? Is it that bad man? Oh Kami please don't let Rin be with him again.

"Lord Sesshomaru?" Rin said, hoping.

"Kukukuku not in the slightest girl." a dark familiar voice answered Rin.

'Oh No! Rin's stuck with the bad man!' Rin thought trying not to get scared.

"Lord Sesshomaru and Lady Kagome will save Rin!" Rin declared sitting up and moving as far as Rin could from the bad man with red eyes.

"Can you not speak right girl?" he asked Rin, false concern filling his creepy eyes.

"Rin doesn't know what you mean. Rin doesn't want to either." Rin declared, lifting Rin's head proudly like Rin had seen Lady Kagome do before when facing Lord Sesshomaru's brother when he was getting out of hand.

He raised an eyebrow and leaned against the wall, closing his eyes. Rin thought she could escape while he was like that so Rin got up and walked to the shoji screen and opened it only to see Kohaku again with his chained weapon raised and ready for attack.

"Master. The girl was trying to leave." Kohaku's voice was empty and hallow and it confused Rin.

Rin remembers his voice not being empty. and what's worse is his voice is more empty than that of Lord Sesshomaru's. What's going on?

"Thank you Kohaku. You may go." the mean man responded opening his eyes, but they said that he already knew what Rin was trying to do.

Shippo's POV

Suddenly Kikyo started to crumble into a pile of dirt. Momma was doing it! She was freeing Kikyo's soul from it's corrupted shell. Hopefully now Kikyo will be able to rest in peace. As all she wanted was to set Kikyo free, so she could rest in peace. When all that left was ashes, a blue ball flew straight at momma and she would have fallen to the ground if otou-san hadn't caught her and her close. Momma's eyes were closed and her breathing shallow but her heart beat was strong as ever. Even her aura grew. Jacilia, the only other fox demon i have met since my birth parents were killed by the Thunder Brothers , was curious. Tamana just looked cold like otou-san used to. Though otou-san pulled it off better. Kilala looked at me and mewed. I nodded and pet her. Finally momma woke up and I heard otou-san give an almost inaudible sigh of relief.

"Shippo?" momma called.

I walked over to her "Yes momma?"

She smiled and suddenly was up and chasing me. I ran only fast enough to evade her until she somehow cut me of and tackled me, tickling me. I squealed and laughed.

"Momma…. Momma let go…Momma stop… it tickles." i squealed.

She tickled me for another few seconds before picking me up and tossing me in the air and catching me. She was smiling the whole time, out of the corner of my eye i saw otou-san giving a small smile, hardly visible. Tamana and Jacilia couldn't see it as they were behind him.

"Kagome what was that about?" Otou-san asked finally

"Kikyo had taken part of my soul. When i put her to rest it returned to where it belongs." She answered.

i saw him blink before giving a small nod. He grabbed momma and Jacilia got on Ah-Un, Tamana just huffed and rolled his eyes. Kilala took off first, then Ah-Un with Jacilia, then Tamana, finally otou-san with momma and myself. When we got back to the camp InuBaka, Miroku, Sango, Jaken were all knocked out. It took all of the youki, everybody but momma, to realize who was mistake. But that was because momma noticed almost as soon as otou-san's feet touched the ground. She started panicking.

"Kagome what is it?" Jacilia asked her.

"Ah-Un, wake Jaken up now!" she told him.

Otou-san grabbed her shoulders before he himself realized at the same time i did.

"Rin." He called, his eyes narrowed.

Me, however, I was helping momma look ever possible close before she picked up Jaken and threw him into a tree. He woke up raging until he saw us and he cowered away from Lord Sesshomaru, and momma. He knows something. i hope Rin was okay. i really do.
