Loud Christmas music blasted through the crowded conference room as all the employees of Beene Public Relations gathered for the annual Christmas party.
Olivia wore a red sequined minidress and gold pumps, her hair coiffed in perfect curls. She was a woman on a mission, her lips painted her most sultry shade of crimson. She milled around the party, chatting with her fellow PR agents, only stopping her mingling when she spotted him.
Fitz was the epitome of tall, dark, and handsome, with perfect whiskey-colored curls and icy blue eyes. Olivia had never been one for lust, but it jumped double dutch in her veins as she walked to where he flanked the bar. She smiled. "Remember me?"
His mouth opened, revealing perfect white teeth, as his ears tinged scarlet. "I've been meaning to talk to you."
Olivia shook her head. "I should slap you. After you fixed my computer, I was sure you would ask me to lunch. But you didn't and broke my heart. How will you fix it?"
He blushed harder. "I didn't think you'd say yes. You're way out of my league. What would a girl like you want with a computer geek?"
"A kiss for starters." She pointed at the mistletoe hanging from the light fixture above them.
"A kiss before a first date?"
Olivia smiled. "Stranger things have definitely happened in this place."
Fitz smiled as he removed his hands from his pockets to place them on her delicate waist. Their kiss was much shorter than either would have liked, but the whooping of several employees made them reluctantly part lips. Olivia smiled as she wiped her lipstick off his mouth. "Now you definitely have to ask me out."
"Lunch tomorrow?"
Olivia giggled. "I was thinking breakfast."
Fitz's eyebrows shot up when he realized what she meant. "I'll get your coat."
