Hello there!
Wow! Updates three days in a row! Can I be the first one to say wow? This hasn't happened on any of my stories since the peak of my writing, which was back in 2012/2013. Yay for inspiration! I can't believe how well this is going... Thank you soooo much to all of my readers! An extra special thank you to the reviewers. I wouldn't be updating like I am without you!
Reminders: I sometimes get confused between all of the versions of Winx (original, 4Kids, Nickelodeon, and Rai). No plots/characters/transformations/etc from the second half of season 5 and later will be included. I am aware there is now a Mythix transformation in the show - the Mythix transformation in this story was created before, therefore, it has no relation. I haven't watched Winx in a very long time, so some of my knowledge might be rusty. Please correct if you see anything wrong. Question: I read somewhere that the Dragon Flame was transferred from Daphne to Bloom once Bloom was born. I am not too sure if that is true, can someone confirm? Either way, in this story, Daphne was the keeper of the Dragon Flame until the moment Bloom was sent to Earth. To protect the Flame and her sister, Daphne sent both away. Thank you.
Disclaimer: I do not own Winx Club.
Enjoy the chapter!
The Obvious Wishes
Bloom felt better being surrounded by the hustle and bustle of downtown Magix. All of the people moving from one destination to a new one brought calmness to her – which was the opposite of what it usually did.
Usually, the city was too busy for her to find any calm. Of course, the city was the host of many memories from the Winx Club, which brought her happiness every time she visited. Bloom remembered clearly the first time she really connected with her girls. It was the first night of school and they had all decided to go for pizza. Bloom being Bloom, she ran into the Trix.
A faint smile ghosted across Bloom's face.
Her friends had come to rescue her. Even when they didn't really know her, they had been there for her.
Bloom wished that was still the case.
Her smile fell as she thought of her current predicament.
Her heart hurt. It felt as if a piece was torn off and burned every minute that passed.
She lost everything important to her. The losses kept repeating in her head.
Her powers.
Her birth family.
Her adoptive family.
Her friends.
Her life.
How had to world become this way?
Bloom didn't want to live in this world. It was for too cruel and far too confusing. Nothing made sense. Nothing was right. Nothing was how it was supposed to be.
Fear haunted Bloom. The princess didn't even know half of it. She had a feeling she had only brushed the surface of what was going on in this new world. Did she really know what had happened to her friends? What about her family? What about her powers – what were they like? Did she really know the true extent of her wish?
She really didn't want to know.
Bloom was miserable. Her life had no meaning.
Well, at least no meaning that she had found yet.
Before, she was saving lives and helping people find happiness.
Now?
All she could think of was that she was some sort of wedding planner? Maybe?
Bloom didn't even know that. She only really knew that she was helping with some sort of wedding, as her mother had claimed she was extremely busy with that.
The princess was used to being an important part of society. She had a great support system and she knew where she fit in with the world. She understood the worlds around her and she felt content.
All of that was missing in this new life. She wasn't important, she didn't have any supports, she didn't know who she was and where she fit, she didn't understand anything, and she most definitely didn't feel content.
That wasn't completely true. Bloom did have her brother, but it was hard. Bloom felt a connection, but she was still scared. She was apprehensive. She didn't want to trust somebody she didn't know. She just wanted her life back.
Was the alternate Bloom in pain too? Did that alternate Bloom feel like she was missing something in life, or was she content with not making change in the universe?
Honestly, Bloom wasn't sure. How could she be? It sounded like she was a completely different person in this world. She didn't know the first thing about herself.
She knew nothing.
Once again, that wasn't completely true.
Bloom did know that the alternate Bloom wasn't the Crown Princess of Domino. The alternate Bloom never left Domino. She didn't live on Earth. She never tasted Vanessa's amazing chocolate chip cookies. The alternate Bloom had younger siblings. She had powers over the white flame. She never went to Alfea, but was still close with Mrs. Faragonda. She knew Aisha, but only as her brother's future wife. She never met the Winx Club. Apparently, she knew Krystal in this life.
Her life was confusing. She wished there was a book of all information on herself. She needed to study.
Well, that wasn't exactly true. Again.
Bloom didn't plan on staying in this world. Dragon, no. She would give anything to leave. She needed to get back home. She couldn't stay in a world where Aisha was dead, her adoptive family didn't know her, and she lost her friendship. What was she supposed to do? Forget her old life and move on? Was she expected to just accept this new life!?
She couldn't do that. She wouldn't do that. She would find a way back home.
Until then, she just had to stay distracted. She couldn't let her mind dance with possibilities.
What if she was forced to stay in this new world?
All alone.
Forever.
Until the end.
No. She shook her head, sending those thought to the back of her mind. She locked the away. She refused to think about that very real possibility.
She couldn't think about it.
She had to focus.
Bloom didn't want to think about the pain she was in. She didn't want to think about poor Aisha. She didn't want to think about her friends. She didn't want to think about everything she had lost. It was too painful.
It was painful for nothing.
It was useless to get caught up in something that happened in an alternate reality. She would be going home eventually.
Well, at least she hoped so.
Bloom really didn't want to think about being stuck here forever. She really didn't want to think about the pain this new world brought.
She just had to stay strong. She had to believe she would be going home. That would be the only way to make it through this hell.
"Hey, miss! It looks like you need something to do!" Bloom was broken from her thoughts by the loud shouting of a magazine vendor. He was waving a copy of a rolled up magazine. "Galaxy Gossip – only a few units! Just for you, miss!" The man waved Bloom over. Hesitantly, she changed her course of walking down the street and began heading towards the vendor. "I'll give you half off! Just for you!"
"How nice – thank you," the princess said hastily. She reached the cart, which was surrounded by people mulling over the latest garbage articles. One thing was not different in this world – the magazines would be full of made up stories painting poor people however the media wanted them to look. It was the same everywhere – both Earth, Magix, and across the universe.
At least it would be something to do.
"Two units and the latest copy of Galaxy Gossip will be all yours! This deal is just for yo-"
"Just for me," Bloom finished, fighting the urge to roll her eyes at the cheesy salesman. She fished in her pocket for some spare change. "Thank you." She pulled out two units and handed it to the man. "Here you are." He passed her the large magazine.
"Thank you, miss! You have a nice da – wait! Don't I know you? I swear I just read an article on you!" Bloom shifted uneasily.
"Oh, well – uh-"
"Domino! Princess of Domino! Princess Krystal's friend!" The vendor pulled out a different magazine titled Magixfeed.
"Well, I guess, bu-"
"HERE!" Bloom was shoved the copy of the second magazine. "Take this! It's free! Just for you!" The princess growled internally.
"Thanks." She imagined punching him square in the face and calling out 'just for you!' The thought made her smile.
"No problem!" Before the obnoxious vendor could open his mouth again, she was speedily walking towards a coffee bar.
She needed to keep busy. She couldn't think about –
And, just like that, she was thinking about all of the things she was trying to avoid.
Aisha's blood everywhere. Her broken face, staring up at her. Her brown eyes, empty of life. They were void of everything, yet Bloom couldn't pull away from them. Her death not only trapped Aisha – it also trapped Bloom.
Bloom shook her head, trying to erase the images of Aisha.
She should have been there.
She should have gone to Alfea.
She should have met the girls.
She should have founded the Winx Club.
She should have been a friend to Aisha.
She should have saved her.
She should have.
Bloom rubbed her head and focused all of her energy into figuring out which coffee she wanted.
The princess swore she never spent so much energy figuring out what she really wanted.
Did she want to maple foam with the black coffee? Maybe she should add some sugar? Or milk? Wait, was cream better?
No.
That's not what she should be asking. She should be asking if maple is even what she wants! Did she?
No.
Too Canadian for her Californian taste buds.
Ooo, the had orange foam. Orange foam? What did they mean by orange foam? Did that mean the foam was flavored orange? Or was it orange colored? It mattered. Who the heck would want their coffee paired with an orange colored foam?
Wait.
Who the heck would want their coffee paired with anything flavored orange anyways? Nope! She wasn't going to go with orange.
What else did she see? Ah, yes, they had some vanilla flavored shot. She loved vanilla. Although, wasn't vanilla more of a winter flavor?
What went well in summer? Maybe she should go with orange?
Would it help if she asked the worker if that stupid foam was flavored or if it was colored?
But wait, would cream even go with that?
Forget it. It was getting stupid.
Bloom turned to leave, but the next thing on the menu caught her attention.
Mocha flavored coffee.
The princess smiled. Finally, something that sounded decent!
Wait.
Wasn't all coffee mocha flavored? Or was everything coffee flavored? Was that such a thing? Coffee flavored coffee? Mocha sounded so much better. She liked mocha. Mocha was –
Once again, images flashed across her eyes.
Bloom could see her mocha eyes. This time, they were filled with life. She was dancing around their dorm room at Alfea, with Musa tagging along behind her. They held hands and spun together, laughing loudly. Aisha's mocha eyes danced with her – they were dancing with joy. Aisha was happy.
Nick, trying his best to hold the sheer pain inside. His cyan blue eyes conveyed all of the agony he had been through and continued to go through. Bloom could see the pain. She could feel the pain. It was almost as if it was rolling off of him in waves. Tears spilled down his cheeks as he described how he found Aisha – her mocha eyes unseeing.
Bloom saw Aisha's eyes again, but, this time, how Nick last saw them.
No life.
Unseeing.
Broken.
Sad.
Clouded.
Dead.
Bloom jolted again, gripping the counter tightly.
Nope. Not mocha coffee.
Actually, she wasn't really in a coffee mood after all.
Bloom left the shop quickly, egger to gasp for some fresh air.
What was happening to her?
All she could see was death. All she could feel was pain. Even when she was ridiculously obsessed with coffee and when she was only focused of figuring out how orange the orange foam would be, she couldn't escape it.
She couldn't escape the horrors of this new world.
Would she ever? Would she even spend another moment that she wouldn't feel the guilt of not being there for Aisha? Would she ever escape the consumption of regret?
She needed to get back home. She needed to have Aisha in her arms. She needed to leave this alternate world.
She needed to get back home.
Until then, she had to survive. She had to distract herself.
Bloom hastily flipped open this first magazine in her hands, Galaxy Gossip. She quickly scanned the table of contents, looking for anything that would interest her.
She had to distract herself. She had to stay focused.
12 ways to wear your hair for summer! Page 4.
Latest fashion from Ciel. Page 5.
Marry, kiss, or kill? Page 7.
Celebrities doing things. Page 8.
Sweet, sweet melodies of Melody. Page 10.
Bloom's eyes froze on the headline.
Melody.
Her heart began hammering in her chest once again.
Musa.
Musa was from Melody. Could this be about her? Oh, please, Dragon, let it be about her!
She flipped the magazine open to page 10 quicker than she had ever opened any magazine before in her whole life.
There, on the page, two beautiful women looked up at her. They looked almost identical; the only way to tell the difference between the two of them was the ages of both women. One was visibly older than the other, yet she still looked youthful. They each had pale complexions, deep blue eyes, and shiny hair.
Musa.
Bloom's heart leaped to her throat. Suddenly, it was hard for her to breath again. Her eyes eagerly scanned the page.
She looked almost identical to what Bloom knew her as. Her hair was extremely long, reaching past her waist. The top layer of her blue hair was pulled into two twisted buns at the top of her head, giving the impression that she had cat ears. Her makeup was sharp – she had long, dark, and full lashes, bright red lipstick, smoky eyes, as well as an airbrushed face. She wore a blood red halter crop top, revealing many moving tattoos along her ribs. Jean shorts hung low on her hips, revealing another black tattoo on her right hip. A cold expression was on her face, yet she seemed to attract attention due to her looks.
The woman standing beside Musa looked very similar to her. Her dark black hair hung in curls, falling along her shoulders. Her makeup was extremely light, but it was obvious there was lots on her, but it was done to look natural. She wore a moonlight silver dress, covered in sparkling gems.
Who was she?
Bloom's eyes scanned the title.
Matlin and Musa of Melody are still secretive about their failed galaxy tour.
Bloom's eyebrows pulled together as she read the short article.
Just last month, the infamous relationship of the mother and daughter duo from Melody went up in flames. Their galaxy wide tour, Strong, was cut short, leaving millions across the dimension upset. Refunds were given, but no statement was made from either of the stars.
Recently, Musa was spotted at the Melody Music Jam Festival, but would not comment on the present situation.
A close family friend claimed that Musa had "recently discovered the reason behind the divorce of her parents, which…" caused a rip in the relationship between father, mother, and daughter. As many readers will know, Matlin and Ho-Boe, once the galaxy's favorite lovers, broke their marriage for unknown reasons three months ago.
Will these two stars ever get back together? Will it ever be released as to why the most successful stars of Melody split? Stay tuned to Galaxy Gossip for more information.
The magazine dropped from Bloom's grasp. The other magazine she held, the one with the apparent article about her, also clattered to the ground. Her eyes stared unmoving at the Galaxy Gossip magazine.
Musa was famous? She had a music career?
Even more shocking – her mother was still alive.
Bloom swallowed hard.
How was her mother still alive? She was dead! Bloom not being sent to Earth would not have changed that!
Unless…
Musa had wished for her mother to be kept alive.
What if, in this world, all of their wishes came true?
No.
That didn't make sense. It couldn't be.
Why wouldn't the rest of the Winx be in this alternate world too?
Bloom grabbed the two magazines from the ground, and lit them on fire. Focusing on the courtyard of Domino, she lit a small fire. Even though she had just discovered this use of her powers, it felt like she had managed to travel through the fire many, many times.
She felt the familiar tug on her hand and she let herself get transported from Magix to Domino. She felt her feet touch down on the stone landing right outside the palace doors. Like earlier, her planet was fast asleep. There were no lights coming from the castle windows, except for one. Bloom thought back to which room that light belonged to.
Hers.
Bloom smiled. Nick must be waiting up for her.
The princess began heading towards her room and her waiting brother. She had lots to talk to him about.
Even thought Bloom didn't think it made sense, her mind was quickly putting together the puzzle pieces.
Stella wished for her parents to never have suffered a divorce, Tecna wished for her family and Timmy to get along, Musa wished that her mother never died, Aisha had wished for Nabu to come back to life, and Flora wished that she could have saved her younger sister's life.
Where were her friends now? What were her friends doing in this alternate world?
Stella was married to an older man, Queen of Solaria, and a mother of a child.
Tecna was a brilliant student, who had finished her studies at Alfea, and is continuing her work in research and the pink college. She was also dating Timmy in this world.
Musa was apparently famous. She was touring with her mother, which was obviously still alive, but had a fallout with her whole family.
Aisha was engaged to her younger brother, but died from her adventure to Shadow Haunt.
Flora? Bloom wasn't too sure about her flower friend. She didn't really know if she wanted to find out. All Bloom knew about Flora was that she had dropped out of Alfea a few years ago due to family issues.
Bloom felt that some of these wishes had come true in this world as well. Could it be possible that she was living in a world where the Winx Club wishes were a reality?
It made sense that all wished had come true. It was almost obvious to Bloom that at least some wishes had come true.
Musa had wished that her mother never died – in this world, her mother was still alive.
Tecna wanted Timmy and her family to get along – in this world, she was still dating Timmy and seemed much more content with her life.
But that was where the obviousness ended. How did Stella wishing for her parents to stay together result in her getting married to an older man, becoming Queen, and being a mother? How did Aisha wishing for her love result in her getting engaged to Nick and dying?
Bloom rounded the corner to her room, her hand clutching her forehead. Her head was pounding from the long and confusing day. She needed to sleep.
Bloom felt defeated. She wasn't sure what this world was. She wasn't sure what she was living in and what she was dealing with.
Her life was broken. She was in a world where nothing was the same and nothing made sense.
All she knew was that she needed to get home.
"Bloom!?" Bloom's head snapped to the new voice and she felt her heart jump to her throat.
That was not Nick.
"What are you doing here?" The princess was engulfed in a hug, the scent of mint hit her nose, just as the blonde strands tickled her face. "What are you doing here!?"
Why was she there?!
And there we have it! Hopefully you all don't mind that this chapter was a little different. I really wanted to portray Bloom's mental state right now. She's running on really low sleep and has had an extremely stressful day. I would be a little wonky if I was in her shoes! Plus, she's doing anything to keep her mind distracted. That's why this chapter is all over the place and she's obsessing over coffee!
Also, sorry for the shorter chapter. I aim to keep my chapters around 3000 words (which this one was), but it still seemed a little short when compared to chapter 10!
Now, some questions for you all! Who do you think is in Bloom's room!? It isn't Nick and Bloom doesn't seem too pleased to see this person. Any correct guesses will get a preview for chapter 12 *wink* (the preview will only apply to those reviewers with an account and for those that review before chapter 12 is posted. Sorry!)
