Quinntana Fanfiction: Now and Forever
Chapter 10: The Only Gift I Want
Sorry that it's been a while but I was waiting until it got closer to Christmas. Anyways, here's a little something to say that I am thankful for those readers out there who take time to read my fanfic. Love you all! And don't forget to tell me your thoughts! :D
Santana grabs the cheeseburgers to their table and joins them.
"What are you doing? Aren't you still working?" says Rachel.
"Relax. Jane let me on break" says Santana.
"So. What did you guys do today?" continues Santana.
"Oh, not much. Just lots and lots of shopping" said Quinn.
"Did you get anything for me?" asks Santana.
"Nope. Not yet anyway" said Quinn.
"But why not?" asks Santana, pouting a little.
"Because its a surprise. Plus, even if I got you something, you'll probably go snooping around and find it" said Quinn.
"She's right" says Rachel. Santana just glares at her.
"Look. Don't worry. You'll find it Christmas morning" said Quinn.
"But what about my gift?" asks Quinn.
"Oh. Pssh. Yeah. I got it covered" lied Santana. She still hasnt gotten anything. She was gonna go shopping after she finished work.
"She's lying" said Rachel.
"Sheesh Rachel. Thanks. Look. Don't worry about it" said Santana.
"Mhmm. You don't have to get me anything" said Quinn as she finished up eating her fries.
"Yes I do. Because you're getting me something. Its only fair that I get something back" said Santana.
"Aww. I guess you're right" said Quinn.
"But Rachel can forget about her gift" said Santana.
"Excuse me?" asked Rachel.
"You heard me" said Santana.
"Don't worry. I already got your gift" said Quinn.
"Babe. I thought you were on my side" said Santana.
"But shes my ride home" said Quinn and chuckled as Santana pouted. Quinn leaned over and gave her pouted lips a kiss.
"We should probably start going now" said Rachel as she moved to get up. She paid Santana for the meal and both Rachel and Quinn left. Santana gathered the cash and cleaned up the table. She moved to the register and put in the cash.
"How'd it go" asked Jane.
"As usual. Rachel being annoying" said Santana.
"You have a few hours left. Are you gonna go straight home after?" asked Jane.
"I was gonna go and buy Quinn her Christmas present. Why?" said Santana.
"I was gonna ask if you wanted to come and get a few drinks with some of the other workers. Since its our last day before vacation" said Jane.
"Thanks for the invite but Id rather not. I don't want to do anything stupid before Christmas" said Santana.
"Its fine. I can give you a ride to the mall though" said Jane.
"Really? Thanks" said Santana.
"No problem" said Jane as she goes back to work.
Rachel dropped Quinn home and helped her up with her shopping bags.
"Thanks Rachel" said Quinn.
"No big deal. Thanks for joining me" with that said, Rachel said goodbye and left. Quinn went into her bedroom and changed into more comfortable clothes. She bought gift boxes, wrap, labels and tape the day before. She moved the coffee table to the side and layed everything out in the middle of the living room. She grabbed a sharpie and started writing the labels. She then grabbed the clothes one by one and started wrapping them.
"That's it" said Jane as she finished cleaning a table from the last customers.
"Finally" said Santana. They put everything away and locked up. The others said they would meet Jane at the bar after she drops Santana off at the mall. They got into Jane's Honda out front and made their way to the mall. Thankfully traffic wasn't that bad and they got there in no time.
"Thanks" said Santana.
"Have fun" said Jane and drove off.
Santana entered and made her way to the map of the mall. She scanned through the store names and found what she was looking for. She started walking deeper into the mall and entered the store. Santana did a little research of her own to see which best fit Quinn and wasn't too expensive. Quinn was taking a nap the other day when her mind went back to the time at the park. She immediately grabbed the laptop and started searching. Santana told the guy at the front what she wanted.
"Sorry. We just ran out of that one" said the guy.
"What? You've got to be kidding me" said Santana.
"Don't worry. A new stock of those will be coming in early in the morning tomorrow. We can deliver it to your house immediately" said the guy.
"Oh my God. Thank you. You're a life saver" said Santana.
"No problem. Just fill out this sheet" said the guy as he handed Santana a clipboard.
"Okay" said Santana. There were barely anybody in the store. There were a few other customers but the other employees had them covered. Santana took a seat in one of the chairs against the side wall nearby. The guy leaned against the counter.
"So, is this for you?" asked the guy.
"Uh, no. Its for my Wife" said Santana, smiling at the thought.
"Your Wife?" asked the guy, surprised.
"Do you have a problem with that?" asked Santana.
"Oh. No, no. I think its cool" said the guy, smiling. The guy was kinda young. Younger than her by a few years. He seemed like the type of guy that would do anything for people he cares about.
"I think I filled out everything" said Santana, handing the clipboard back.
"Yeah. Okay. Great. I'll make sure to get it delivered tomorrow morning" said the guy.
"Thanks" said Santana.
"So, your Wife likes taking pictures? Whats her name?" asked the guy, trying to make small talk. Obviously because he was bored but Santana didn't mind.
"Her name is Quinn. I noticed not too long ago. We would walk through the park and she would stop to take pictures of anything. Her phone is filled up and I thought it would be nice to get her an actual camera for her little hobby" said Santana. The first night she noticed was the night Rachel proposed to Brittany. Then she noticed that Quinn would take pictures when no one was looking. She would take pictures privately and practically anywhere. At the park or at home. Just random silly things. But what Quinn didn't know was that Santana already knew.
"That's nice of you" said the guy as Santana pays for it, not bothered by the cost.
"Yeah. But she thinks I don't know that photography is her hobby so she wont be expecting this" said Santana.
"Yeah. Its a fun hobby. I own that camera myself. Its really good. One of my favorites. Shes gonna love it" says the guy.
"Thanks. Well, I better get going. Shes waiting for me to get home" said Santana.
"Oh, yeah. Sure. Well if you need anything or if something is wrong, come by and I'll help you" said the guy.
"Sure. Will do. Whats your name?" asked Santana.
"Stan. Whats yours?" he asked.
"Santana" she said.
"Well, nice meeting you Santana" says Stan as he shakes her hand.
"You too Stan" says Santana as she lets go.
"Happy Holidays" says Stan as she walked out, waving goodbye. It was getting late and the stores in the mall started to close. Thankfully the subway was right next to the mall. Unfortunately, Santana brain farted and forgot which route to take back home. She tried to look at the board with all the routes and numbers but suddenly got frustrated and gave up. She didn't want to call Quinn and the others to worry them. She would ask others for directions but the subway was empty. Santana suddenly jumped at the sound of her phone going off. She pulled it out and didn't recognize the number. But she chose to answer it anyway.
"Hello?" she asked.
"Santana? Hey. This is Stan. I got your number from the form you filled out. But you forgot to fill out the back side of it" said Stan.
"Oh, sorry. I'm on my way back right now" said Santana as she walked back up to the mall.
Santana entered the store again and found Stan waiting for her.
"Sorry. Its nothing much but rules are rules" said Stan handing the clipboard back.
"Nah. Its fine" says Santana as she quickly fills out the rest and gives it back.
"Thanks" said Stan.
"Hey. This might be a little weird but do you have a car?" asked Santana. She couldn't believe she was asking this from someone she just met. But he seemed like a pretty nice guy.
"Yeah. Why?" asked Stan.
"Can I get a ride home? My friend dropped me off earlier but I forgot which subway route to take back" said Santana, feeling embarrassed.
"Uh. Sure. I guess. Let me just lock up" says Stan as he gathers his things and follows Santana towards the front. Santana steps out while Stan turns off the lights. He proceeds to locking the front door and starts to walk towards the parking lot.
"So where do you live?" asked Stan.
"Near Central Park. You can just drop me off there" said Santana.
"Okay" said Stan as they got to his car. It was a small Toyota but he kept it clean. They got in and Stan drove out of the lot.
"So, whats your Wife like?" asked Stan.
Santana immediately started describing Quinn and their past. She talked about how they went to high school together and was in Glee club. Or the way that she looks and what happened at their wedding. Santana was so engaged in the conversation, she didn't realize that she had 5 missed calls from Quinn.
"No, I haven't heard from her. Last I saw her was when I dropped her off at the mall" said Jane.
"Okay. Thanks. Goodnight" says Quinn as she hangs up the phone. Where could she be and why wasn't she answering, Quinn thought.
Stan dropped Santana off near the middle of Central Park like she'd ask. She was tired but she slowly made her way to her apartment. She walked up and opened the door. She switched the light switch on and was startled to see Quinn on the couch, staring at her.
"Where were you?" asked Quinn.
"Shopping" said Santana.
"Why didn't you call and tell me that. I was getting worried" said Quinn as she got up and hugged Santana.
"I was buying your gift. I wanted it to be a surprise" said Santana as they pulled apart.
"Babe. The only gift I want, is you" said Quinn.
