Quinntana Fanfiction: Now and Forever
Chapter 11: Someone Special
Santana woke up to the blaring ringtone of her cell phone. She hurriedly grabbed her phone and tried to lower down the volume. She turns to her side to check if Quinn was still sleeping. But Quinn wasn't there. Before she could figure out where she went, Santana finally answered the phone.
"Hello?" answered Santana.
"Hey Santana. Its Stan again. Your camera came in and I was the one making deliveries this morning. I am currently downstairs" said Stan.
"Oh, Hey Stan! Yeah. Just give me a minute and I'll be downstairs" said Santana.
"Okay. No problem. No need to rush" said Stan.
"Okay, bye" said Santana. She hung up the phone and put on a robe. She was too lazy to get dressed up. She got up, washed her face, then headed out downstairs.
When she pushed open the door that lead to the parking lot, she saw Stan leaning against a truck, holding a box.
"Delivery for Ms. Santana Lopez" said Stan as he handed the box with a piece of paper on top and a pen.
"Thanks" said Santana as she signs the papers.
"There you go. I hope Quinn really enjoys it" said Stan, smiling genuinely.
"Yeah. I know she will. Perfect timing though. She's not home right now" said Santana.
"Well, I try to do my best" said Stan, acting cocky. He noticed Santana shiver a little.
"You should probably go back in. Its cold out" said Stan as he gets back into the truck.
"Yeah, thanks again" said Santana.
"You're welcome. See you later. Merry Christmas Eve!" said Stan as he waved and drove off.
Santana hurriedly made her way back upstairs. She opens the delivery box and is met with the actual box of the camera. She looks for the wrapping paper and tape. Once she found them, she carefully wraps the box. When she finished, she hid the camera inside of their guest room's closet.
"She'll never look there" said Santana. She goes back into the living room to clean up all the evidence of what she just did. She notices that everyone else's gifts were under the mini fake Christmas tree they set up two weeks ago. As she zones out, she starts to think about what Quinn was getting her. "It could be anything" she thought.
Earlier this morning...
The blonde woke up and was thankful that Santana was still fast asleep. She got dressed and headed out the door as fast as she could. She drove to the closest pound. Making sure everything looked fine, she locked up the car and walked in. A lady in a red collared shirt approached her.
"Hello, my name is Karen. How may help you?" asked the lady.
"Hi, my name is Quinn. I was actually hoping to adopt a puppy" said Quinn.
"Oh, sure. We have a bunch. Please follow me to the back" said Karen.
Quinn followed Karen through these double doors and they were suddenly surrounded by cages full of cats and dogs. Karen walked a little further in and made a left turn.
"Here are all of the puppies we have" said Karen as she gestured towards the wall.
Quinn slowly walked down the isle. She played with a few of them. Most of the puppies were playful and happy to see someone. A lot of them approached her and wagged their tail. But none of them seemed right. She then made her way further down the isle when this one puppy caught her eye. It was a Labrador Retriever. Its fur was almost an off white color. Both of its eyes were closed and it was laying down. She stared at it and it peeked one eye open. When it realized that Quinn was looking at it, the puppy closed its eye shut as fast as it could. Quinn smiled at the action. This little puppy was pretending to be asleep. Quinn hid on the side of its cage and waited for it to peek again. When it did, Quinn popped up and scared it. It jumped and whined. Quinn laughed and the puppy barked as if it was saying "Okay. We're even." It got up and started to lick Quinn's fingers.
"I definitely want this one" said Quinn.
"Okay. Just follow me to the front to fill out some paper work" said Karen.
"Is it possible to pick it up tomorrow morning?" asked Quinn as she filled out the papers.
"Yes you can. Many people are picking their animals up tomorrow anyway. They adopt animals and give them as presents. Who are you gonna give this pup to?" asked Karen.
"I'm gonna give it to my Wife. Her name is Santana" said Quinn.
"Wait. Santana Lopez?" asked Karen, suddenly remembering why Quinn's name sounded so familiar.
"Uh. Yeah. How do you know her?" asked Quinn.
"Santana comes here all the time and plays with the dogs. She would play with them and feed them and take care of them" said Karen.
"Really? So this is where she's been disappearing to. I had no idea she even came here. I found out a couple months ago about her love for dogs" said Quinn.
"Yeah. She never told anybody. She even threatened us to not say anything" said Karen.
"Yup. That's my Santana" said Quinn.
"Don't worry. You picked the right puppy. I was hesitant to give it to you not knowing who you were. Its been her favorite ever since it came in last month. But now I know who you are, so I'm glad to give it up" said Karen.
"Great! I'm glad I picked the right one then. Well, I better go and grab some breakfast for her" said Quinn.
"Yeah. See you tomorrow. Merry Christmas Eve, Quinn" said Karen.
"Merry Christmas Eve Karen" said Quinn as she walked out. She got into her car and went to go buy breakfast for her and Santana.
Santana decided to hide and wait for Quinn to come back. She piled pillows on the bed and put a blanket over it so it would look like she was still in bed. She decided to hide in the bathroom. Putting down the toilet seat cover, she sat down and started a game of Minion Rush on her phone.
Quinn stopped by a cafe and ordered pancakes, bacon and eggs. She couldn't help herself so she took out a bacon strip and ate it before she started driving. She realized that she needed to buy supplies for the puppy, so she made a quick stop to the pet store. She asked an employee for assist and the employee helped her out with everything. From the most ideal dog food to the cutest collar. She paid for everything and drove back to the loft. As she drove, she thought about what Santana could have possibly got her. Quinn never asked or hinted for anything. She wanted to make it hard for San so she could see what she would come up with. Once she parked, she made her way upstairs, food in hand. But leaving all the dog supplies in the car.
Santana heard the loft door open and stopped the game as she stood up and got prepared. Quinn made her way to the kitchen and put the food on the counter. Noticing that it was still quiet, Quinn walked down the hallway to check if Santana was awake yet.
"San. Babe. Wake up" said Quinn as she nudged the blanket. She pulled the blanket back and found no body, but pillows in its place.
"Where did she go?" asked Quinn. She searched the closet and under the bed. She made her way out into the hallway.
"Boo!" yelled Santana as she jumped out of the bathroom.
"Ahh! San!" said Quinn as she jumped, her heart beating a million times faster.
"You freaking scared me!" continued Quinn as she started whacking Santana on her shoulder.
Santana was breathless from laughing too much.
"I'm sorr-" Santana bursted out laughing in the middle of her sentence.
Quinn was mad. "Fine. No breakfast for you then."
"Aww, Babe. I'm really sorry. Please, I need my food" said Santana, pouting. Quinn rolled her eyes as Santana started peppering her face with kisses.
"Fine." said Quinn. They both made their way to the kitchen and brought everything out. As they ate, Quinn knew the one question Santana was dying to ask.
"Where did you go?" asked Santana, pushing her food around as she waited for an answer.
"I went to buy breakfast." said Quinn. Technically, she wasn't lying. She just left part of it out.
"It doesn't take that long to buy breakfast, Q." said Santana, calling Quinn out.
"Fine. I was getting your gift" said Quinn.
"I knew it. But even if I really want to know, you're not gonna tell me right?" asked Santana.
"Of course not. And don't go searching for it either. You'll get it tomorrow morning." said Quinn.
"Fine. But just so you know, you're making me feel like a little kid again" said Santana, grinning.
"You are" said Quinn, beaming back.
Soon after they finished breakfast, they put on a Christmas playlist and cleaned around the house. The other gleeks were coming over during brunch tomorrow morning to celebrate Christmas Day together.
Santana was sweeping the floor and Quinn was mopping her trail when Ariana Grande's "Last Christmas" played on the speakers.
"I hate that I remember. I wish I could forget" sang Quinn, using the mop as a microphone.
"What you did last December, you left my heart a mess" sang Santana, following Quinn's lead, using the broom.
"Girl, you blew it. How could you do it, do it..." continued Quinn.
The beat dropped and Santana walked across the living room, dragging the broom along as if she was performing on stage.
"Last Christmas, I gave you my heart. But the very next day you gave it away" sang Santana as she looked back at Quinn, winking and smiling.
"This year, to save me from tears, I'll give it to someone special..." sang Quinn, following Santana. Santana twirled in place with the broom but ended up slipping and falling on a part Quinn just mopped. Quinn laughed and stuck out her hand to help Santana back up. Santana grabbed her hand and yanked her down to the floor with her.
Quinn fell into Santana's body. They giggled while the song continued to play. As the laughter died down, they leaned into each other and kissed.
Its times like these where they both loved each other the most. Where they can be themselves around each other. Where they can just play around and be happy. Its times like these where they know they gave their heart to someone special.
