Flashback...

Upon hearing Keiko's answer, Mai finally turned her phone off. She and Yuri then rushed out of the apartment and were off to meet up with Keiko and Michiru. Unknown to Mai and Yuri, a figure suddenly materialized in the corner of the room saying, "Soon."

Yuri dropped Mai off at the train station. Before going though, she made sure that Mai met up with Michiru and Keiko and the three of them managed to ride the correct train without any problems. Her vigilance in watching Mai might be over kill for other people, but considering the fact that Mai was quite danger prone, she wasn't taking any chances. Yuri also gave Mai some last minute instructions as they were leaving the house, which were mostly about Mai taking care of herself and to call once they reach the resort, or if there was any sign of trouble. Yuri repeated these instructions to Mai once they reached the train station, if anyone were to look, they would think that Yuri was sending her child off to some place. But when her actions are commented on, she'll bite anyone's head off and say that she's still too young to be a mother.

Back at SPR...

Both Lin and Naru arrived at the office during the early hours of the morning. Naru was in his office just about to finish the file he was currently working on, when he noticed the time on the clock. He realized that his brunette assistant was already an hour late. He was about to reach for his phone to call Yuri and ask where they were, when he remembered that he gave Mai permission to have three days' worth of leave.

Lin, who was just about to knock on Naru's door, sensed the air start to thicken in front of Naru's office door and realized that Naru was in a dark mood. He decided to retreat to his office knowing that Naru would snap at anyone who bothered him. He wasn't going to risk his live when the only thing or rather person who could pacify the young man is currently out of the office. And true to Lin's thoughts, Naru did snap at three poor souls. Honestly speaking, even Gene wasn't in the office trying to annoy Naru.

Yuri just arrived in the office, after dropping Mai off with her friends. As she opened the door, she was met with three people cowering in a corner of the office. Said people were none other than Yasuhara, Bou-san and Ayako. Gene, who would normally appear and greet the members of SPR and join their shenanigans which always irritate Naru, was nowhere to be found.

Yuri raised a brow at the sight, but when she turned around and saw Naru's office. She was met with a dark ominous aura permeating through his door, which in turn made her blink and feel wary. Though she was curious about what happened, she decided to ask Lin instead. As much as she liked to tease Naru, she wasn't that suicidal.

She knocked on Lin's door and without waiting for a response she opened the door and entered. She the raised an eyebrow towards Lin, once his attention was on her, "So, do I even want to know what happened?" She asked.

Lin sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose, "Let's just say that Naru's currently experiencing tea withdrawal." Though after answering, he muttered under his breath, "Rather than tea withdrawal, I think his suffering from Mai withdrawal."

Yuri was able to hear what Lin said and just blinked, "Alright, but that still doesn't explain why Yasu, Bou-san and Ayako are cowering in a corner."

Lin just stared at Yuri. Yuri being Yuri just stared right back at Lin. Lin's brow twitched and gave a long suffering sigh, "Well you see..."

Flashback...

SPR's door slammed open with Bou-san shouting, "Mai, would you be a dear and bring me some iced coffee." He then stopped at the door, when he noticed Mai wasn't around, but before he could say anything Ayako shoved him out of the way.

"Stop blocking the door way you stupid monk." Ayako jibed at the monk."

Bou-san turned towards Ayako and said, "Who are you calling stupid you old hag!"

"Who are you calling an old hag, you stupid monk", Ayako screamed, while hitting Bou-san on the head with her purse.

Bou-san covered his head with his hand, "Hey, stop it woman. What do you even have inside that purse of yours?"

Yasu then started saying, "Oh, Bou-san how could you do this to me. How could you break my heart? Mai my sweet, help me with this broken heart of mine." Yasu stopped with his dramatics and had a curious look on his face and asked the two, "Hey, do guys know where Mai is?" This made the two stop what they were doing.

Lin hearing the commotion in the receiving area was about to come out of his office to tell them to keep quiet, when Naru's office door slammed open and out came the devil incarnate himself. At the same time, the three of them remembered about Mai being on vacation. They gulped knowing that they were in for a world of pain.

Lin not wanting to get involved just decided to remain in his office. The only things heard from the office space, were the shouts and plea for help by three poor souls.

...Flashback

"If you want to know what Naru did to the three of them, you either ask them or Naru." Lin stated with finality in his tone. Showing how much the Chinese man didn't want to get involve in their office drama.

After hearing Lin's explanation, Yuri had Cheshire grin on her face. She then started teasing Lin, "Who would have thought? The mighty and fearless Lin would be hiding in his office."

Lin taking the teasing on hand answered, "A wise man knows when to choose his battles."

Yuri laughed and said, "Fair enough, if that's what makes you sleep at night. Which reminds me, aside from those three, what happened to John and Masako?"

Lin answered, while going back to his work, "Hara-san is currently shooting for her show and John is helping out in the Church."

"Hmm, well lucky them I guess. My next question would be where is our personal Casper, the friendly ghost?" Yuri asked curiously.

Lin shrugged his shoulders and said, "If you're looking for Gene, I haven't seen him since this morning"

"Did someone call my name", Gene asked, materializing into Lin's office.

Yuri just smirked at him and said, "Hiding, weren't you?"

Gene just harrumphed and said, "I didn't want to die, thank you very much"

Lin and Yuri shared a look and soon enough they both raised a brow at Gene. Noticing the looks sent his way, "What? Why are you looking at me like that?"

"You do know that you're already dead, right?" Yuri commented.

Gene looked at her like a fish gaping out of the water. "Hehe, right, I am dead. I forgot about that." He answered sheepishly.

Yuri was about to comment but in the end decided not to. Gene then asked, "Do you guys know what Naru did to the others, I was about to ask them but when they saw me they just ran out of the door screaming bloody murder."

Yuri just stared at Gene, and then shook her head not even bothering to comment on what Gene had just said. She then turned to Lin, "As much as I want to see Nolly suffering, we have a client coming in and it wouldn't do if he scared them. I'm going to make some tea; Mai taught me how to do it."

Lin just nodded, also deciding to ignore Gene. Gene just blinked when he realized that the two were ignoring him. "Hey, did I say something wrong." He asked no one in particular, but he was only answered by silence.

Yuri finished making the tea. She delivered Lin's first, while ignoring Gene who was sulking in Lin's office with Lin glaring at him. Yuri then proceeded to give Naru his tea. She entered Naru's office and placed the tea on his desk.

Naru glared at her and Yuri glared back at him. "Mai isn't here, so just deal with my tea until she gets back. We have a client coming in a few minutes so start fixing yourself."

Naru picked the cup and took a sip, his eyes widened the moment he tasted the tea. He looked at Yuri as if she grew a head. "If you think I'm doing this for you, think again. I'm only doing this because Mai asked me to. Oh, before I forget, I managed to find a solution to Mai's problems with her abilities."

Back with Mai and her friends...

While travelling, the girls talked about many things. Which included topics ranging from school related things to their crushes and with Mai getting teased about Yuri's overprotectiveness. All three of them finally fell asleep, after the excitement for their vacation dwindled down. They didn't notice the same figure appearing again, saying "Soon." before vanishing out of sight. Mai and the rest of the team did not realize that things were about to become worse and Mai was heading straight to it.
