Vapid Sorrows chapter 3

I bet you guys are wondering how this all came about, believing in vampires in a world that only sees them as folklore and myth. Well lets take a break of catching up and go back further to a time I met my parents for the first time- kinda.

"MOM! DAD!" Amy stops from running as looks at the empty front of the house. Air was still as Amy frowned looking around.

"Amy, get inside now" She hears her Auntie at the door. She goes inside and sees Valley sitting on the couch.

"Was mom and dad here? I heard them" Amy looked at her Auntie & Uncle.

They looked at each others for a moment "We have to talk"

From that night, our lives changed. The people in the Shadows were real and not my paranoid imagination. Even though was unclear why I could see them if I was not one of them. They killed our parents. I think deep down we knew something out of the normal happened to our parents cause when they told us about vampires we didn't doubt them. We were supposedly part of a long line of vampire hunters. Our parents were too, until they became the hunted.

It changed me more than it did Amy. She still went out and did normal things teenagers do. Even when I hit my teens I was withdrawn. I had a small group of friends and I mean small. People thought I was weird cause of it. My aunt & uncle blamed them for how I turned out. Would encourage me to go out and still have a life, they were safe but just preparing myself & Amy for a day we would need to defend ourselves or another. All I wanted to do was to keep learning how to fight and about vampires. I guess it became an obsession. Why? I really don't know. I know wouldn't bring back the parents I never knew.

I was the first to kill one. I never did like the guy and I knew why. Amy had become distant from the idea of being a vampire hunter and wanted to be a teen. She would always tell me to get a real life before shutting the door on me when I try get her to practice with me. You'd think she was the youngest of us at the time with how she was acting. Plus, she had a boyfriend. At least that was my aunt and uncle's excuse.

But least go back to the boyfriend thing. It was Amy's first, so of course she was head over heels for him. Naturally my sister, aunt & uncle figured I just hated him cause he was "taking your sister away" with Amy being with him a lot. That wasn't it. His thoughts her blurry but something wasn't right, until last night of the school year.

He had showed up to pick her up for the end of school party. He was different from times before. I couldn't help but stare at him. Amy was so excited to see him since he had been sick for days. He looked like death.

But it did motivate her more to start training again. She didn't like the feeling of being helpless. And most likely cause was her little sister who saved her ass when should be the other way around.

That was only the beginning. But little did I know, my sister was playing me like her first boyfriend did her. I was never truly honest with her on why he was even working her. I told her he never said but that was a lie. I know she would have done the same with me. Our biggest challenge came on my night of prom. Was a night Amy & I remained each other's only family alive.

I'll stop there, now lets go back to catching up to the events of vampires in my town and place of home.

Valley sat by her window looking out at the darkness. She avoided going out as much as possible. Even with blood suckers in the house it still felt like the safest place. But what was their plan? Matt & Seth claim they were once friends with them Randy and have been tracking them down, why they are here. Valley calls bullshit although she hasn't seen anything yet in their thoughts but its not something she can just turn on and see peoples thoughts. She will admit though, she has been trying with my Amy. See what she is thinking in bringing any vampires in their once vampire free home.

"Hey, where are you?"

Valley snaps out of her thoughts and sees Jeff sitting by her legs with one hand on her thigh. She stared at him, her enemy that she has found comfort in for the past few weeks. He is one of them yet he is keeping her mind occupied from them. They pretty much stay on her room to themselves if they don't go out in the night to the movies or just for a walk. But just the mere remembrance of him being a vampire has her step back from going into intimacy. Jeff knew that but never stopped him from holding her at night & Valley never pushed him away.

"Sorry, just dazed out. Didn't even hear you come in" She looks back out. What confused her more than ever is why is it he keeps the pain away. If she is gone out of the house for too long she starts to get stomach pains and headaches again. But as soon as she is back in his presence it is gone. "Where did you go?"

He chuckles as he gets up and heads to her bathroom. She watches him as smiles a bit. But looks down as her smile fades. He went to feed. Killed an innocent soul so he could live, but why is she not upset when it came to the thought of him killing.

"come here" she was once again snapped out of her thoughts as he swipes her up and heads to her bed "sun is rising" he lays her down and goes for a kiss "means I get you" moves his kisses to her neck and back to her lips.

She knows it's getting bad, her starting to take on his sleeping habits. She should be out during the day and enjoy it while she can. "I think Seth is right, we need to do something to keep her on her toes. We've let her relax for far to long. She's feisty and I like that" Roman smirked

"She is, she has gotten so dull since mellowing out. I like that feistiness she had. I mean c'mon, she left the window opened to burn Jeff" Seth howled with laughter.

"You just like the crazy ones" Matt laughed.

Amy looked at Randy who was sitting there in thought but seemed amused at the conversation happening. Before she could say anything he looks up at them "I think it's a plan. She is kinda fun to play with. Think it's time we have her remember we are here" he huffs with a smirk. "let us have some fun Roman. Soon, we just have to find something perfect. It has to be perfect"

"Remind me why we signed up to be on the so called good side" Seth said looking at Matt with his hands out "we are missing the real fun"
