Part sixteen: Hale

I feel pretty good. My body actually looks like an old banana, but it's fine.

Mike Piazza

I had never before noticed the beautiful harmony that was the unfettered human body. Hardly able to be called 'graceful', my body still felt magnificent as I ran away from the Troglodyte. The cat appeared out of the undergrowth and ran along silently beside me, running away from the mine. Towards home.

Back at the cabin, I got a second opinion from the tennis ball triangle. I grinned broadly at the aura representation I saw around me; strong and deep green with overtones of woodsmoke and g sandpaper. No turquoise – no; none. It looked as vibrant and healthy as I felt, and that was saying a lot. And around me, above and below; brilliant colors in smooth shafts of transparent light coming out of my head and bending gracefully to re-enter at my feet. My invisible magnetic force lines that I hated. Yet just now, I didn't even mind. I looked over the healthy whole of the picture.

Lady Vet had been right, it was rather lovely after all.
