The Midnight Society, Lilo, Stitch, Kubo, Suzie, Kimiko, were exploring the woods in Friendship, Maine where they saw Whipstaff Manor. They thought they would play hide and seek. Lilo decided to do the Eeny, Meeny, Miney, Moe bit to decide

"Eeny, meeny, miny, moe

Catch a tiger by the toe

If he hollers let him go

Eeny, meeny, miny, moe

My mother told me

To pick the very best one

And you are it," she said as she pointed to Kimiko.

"You'll have to count to 100 by fives, Kimmy," Suzie said.

"1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7-" Kimiko said as the others started to hide.

As Stitch was starting to hide, he heard something. Doreen started to creep into the cave where she ran into a woman writing.

"Novelist," Stitch whispered.

"Stitch, is something wrong?" Lilo asked.

"There's a lady writing," Doreen replied.

Lilo took a peak and recognized her as Julie Oriolo author of the "Oriolo Club" series. Lilo explained that the Oriolo Club was about a group of kids who found the supernatural and encountered ghosts.

"Ready or not, here I come!" shouted Kimiko as they started going into the room.

"Can I help you?" Julie asked.

"Well," Lilo answered, "my friends and I were playing hide and seek in here. You?"

"I usually come to this house to get inspiration for my books. Recently my son James has been reading 'Batman' comics, and it gave me the idea for my next book about vampires," Julie explained.

Meanwhile, Lord Hater and the Harbingers of Doom were finishing their music video, "Give Me All Your Turkey," which made King Dedede hungry. Then Royal Pain came in and had tracked down another Crystal Gem in Maine. Commander Peepers said, "Brilliant, ma'am. Darkrai would surely spread his nightmares this time."

Back at Whipstaff Manor, Kimiko found all the members hiding except for Lilo. She knew where she was; she decided to give her privacy so she could talk to Julie and get to know her better.

"As in Julie Oriolo, the horror novelist"?" Tucker asked.

"That's right, Tuck," Kimiko answered.

"I've read all her books," Suzie said. "Pops lets us read them just as long as it doesn't scare Mimi nor Nancy."

Inside the library, they met the others. "These must be your friends, Lilo," Julie suggested.

Lilo nodded. Julie looked at Tte Midnight Society and told them that they were just like the characters in her books. Gary was more like Gerald the magical leader, Betty Ann was like Brittany the weird hippie, Kiki was like Kyle the tomboy, Frank was like Fred the raging bad boy, Tucker was like Thad, Gerald's prank-loving brother, and Sam was like Sarah, the romantic whom Fred and Gerald had a crush on.

Julie was wondering if she could invite them for dinner since, and they said yes.

As they left, a small ghost appeared and was curious.

At the Oriolo house, they met her twin children, Bonnie and James. Julie started to stress out after looking at some bills.

"Our mom is having financial troubles," Bonnie explained. "Our landlord, Lionel Draman, told us if she doesn't pay the mortgage real soon, he'll take our home from us."

"Things have been real hard since our dad died in a car wreck," James continued.

"What happened?" Betty Ann asked.

"Daddy was finishing the night shift at Realty," James explained. "A tire got flat and a car got wrecked."

Then Lilo got the idea that they should make dinner for her. The others agreed.

Note: Julie Oriolo is named after Julie McWhirter, who voiced Casper in "Casper and the Angels," and Joe Oriolo, who helped create Casper.
