OCC: During the fishman island arc while Sanji is recovering from blood loss.
Broken
"How is he?"
"He's doing alright..." Chopper started before realizing who was now sitting next to him. "Ah! Shion you can't be in here right now Sanji is..."
"Asleep, I promise I'll leave before he wakes up." Shion said quietly, Chopper watched her stare at the Cook for a bit. His heart going out to his friend. He knew that she and Sanji had had...something...going on before the separation. He hadn't been sure exactly what but he had his suspicions. It had been a hit the ground running sort of thing when they'd reunited Chopper hadn't had time to think about how this whole situation had to be making them all feel.
"I think it's under control now, we found one other blood donor besides the one you brought in. But I'll be honest I'm concerned more about the physiological state of things then I am about the physical."
"He's broken isn't he Chopper?" Choppers heart tore at her tone.
"In a sense, yes. I'm not sure why and I'm afraid to force an investigation into the issue further. Who knows what memories he's blocked and what damage they could do if brought to the surface."
"Can he still be fixed?"
"I think so. Whatever it is that brought this on Sanji needs to work it out for himself. All we can really do is make sure he knows we're there for him. I'm going to keep trying all I can to help him but in the end it has to be his choice to conquer this."
Shion nodded. Leaning over she ran a hand through his hair and whispered. "I know you're stronger then this Cook so you better come back to us..ok?" she brushed her lips over first his forehead, then his cheek. "Please come back." She added in an even softer tone.
Chopper kept still and quiet, not totally sure Shion had meant for him to see this part of her visit. Wasn't sure it would even help but he allowed it anyway. After all who knew...maybe it would in some, odd, subconscious way. He let her sit a few moments more before finally pushing her out of the room.
Shion looked like she wanted to protest but followed his orders anyway. Chopper watched her go then returned to his patient, more determined then ever to heal this 'illness'. They needed Sanji, as a dear friend and a valuable member of the crew but Chopper knew at least one person now needed him even more then that. Even if she didn't know it yet.
