Authors note: Hey guys I am so, so, so very sorry but I'm gonna have to put this story on hold for a little while. Trust me I NEVER wanted to do this. The problem is that in the middle of the summer my laptop got a virus as I was scanning for a virus! Stupid irony induced life! I swear it's like some supernatural being just loves messing with my life! As a result I lost all my work and can't continue the story. I have no access to internet and no typing capability. I'm actually using a friend's computer right now to type this. I swear this will never happen again, I don't want to make an update be just an author's note. So I'm gonna add something here, it won't be long or very good but I feel horrible not being able to post an actual chapter for you guys who actually care about this story and want to read more. Once again i am so sorry, I'm still trying to get a new laptop but I don't know when that will be. That said I hope that this will never ever happen again. Um...Enjoy? :(

Darkness surrounded the eerily light street. Trash littered the sidewalk and clouds blocked the moonlight. Not a soul was out as Samantha walked along the strip. Shadows seemed to jump at her and she kept glancing at corners. The only sounds were the soft stamp of her shoes and the thundering beat in her chest. 'Somethings up, I've never been to this part of the city' she thought to herself. 'This just, doesn't feel right'. Feeling as though a hundred eyes where upon her she continued to walk vowing to herself not to look back, for she felt that if she did she would never feel the warmth of the sun again.

She passed by a cobwebbed car and looked inside. Holding her breath she held her hands to the driver's side window. No person was present inside the car and Samantha released her breath. Examining the interior she noticed something that did not belong. They keys were still in the ignition, and the doors were unlocked. 'This is not right. This is definitely not right!' A sudden noise behind her made her heart stop and without thinking she threw the door open and turned the ignition. Forgetting about the fact that this was someone else's car, forgetting about the fact that that noise might have been a person who could have helped her, forgetting the fact that she didn't even have a permit, and forgetting about how it almost seemed like someone wanted her to do this she slammed her foot on the gas. The wheels screeched, a sound that would have made her cringe if she had not been attempting to run, and the car speed off. The only thing on her mind was get away. Even with her inexperience she managed to cleanly curve high speed turns. After about five blocks, she stopped. Leaning back in her seat she breathed very deeply. "Don't worry we've covered up our tracks so they'll never catch us." The sound of the husky voice made Samantha freeze. She held her breath and dared to look around. On the building closest to her the door was slightly ajar and a golden light shown through. Taking the shallowest of breaths she had ever done she slowly, silently exited the car. Her right hand rose and rested above her silver Kitty belt. Hands steady she moved ever so slowly closer to the door.

When no sound emanated she dared to attempt an entry. Her left hand reached for the nob hesitating before touching the first finger to it. Headlights shown in her face from the street. Squinting she stared at the source. The pair of yellow orbs were shining brightly and getting bigger. The car was getting closer and picking up speed fast. Samantha turned on her heel and ran as fast as her legs could carry her. The city melted away into a field with a river running through it. Up ahead Samantha saw two bridges each leading to a different path. A groomed graceful alley cat stood guard at the bridge to her right and paced along the railing. When she glanced at the bridge to her left ragged rough looking bats flew out of the darkness. Samantha froze she didn't know which way to go. Looking behind her she noticed that the car was almost upon her. 'I have to move now!' She screamed at herself but her legs would not move. 'Come on come on!' Try and try as she might she could not will her legs to take even a single step. The cars sped faster in just a few seconds it would end her. A car horn sounded as she turned to stare into her death all hope lost in her eyes. Something very warm and hard slammed Samantha's side and knocked her to the ground. The car flew past.

The warmth on her side quickly went away. Dazed and confused Samantha looked around to find out what had hit her. As she looked around in the dark she was shocked to discover that the thing that had hit her was not a what, but a who. Standing atop a hill beside a willow tree with fuzzy white flowers stood the dark outline of a boy in a dark blue mask. As soon as she laid eyes on him he turned and ran. Samantha tried to step towards him but when she moved forward she began to fall into pitch black…
