Ginny woke up bright and early on the morning of her brother's wedding. She couldn't quite believe he and Fleur were getting married. Of all the people in the universe, they seemed the least suited, and here they were. Ginny went to go and shower, finding the bathroom to be busy. She was in her nightgown and waiting impatiently for the person busy to finish up.
Ron came out and then Ginny hurried in, showered, washed her hair and dressed into her golden number that Fleur had picked out for her and Gabrielle to wear. Gabrielle had been around a fair amount in the holidays, and Ginny was grateful her family had decided to stay in a hotel in the closest, biggest city so they could apparate if need be
As she pulled it on, she realized she couldn't do up all the buttons on her own. The bottom of the dress was sheer and yellow, and puffed a little, somewhat like a ballerina dress, but not quite the same extreme. The lightness of the fabric, when she twirled, made her feel like a ballerina. And the top half of the dress was beautiful too. It was somewhat of a halter neck, and it all glittered golden sequins, with a cut in the middle exposing just a little of her chest. She was surprised her mother had allowed this dress. But she had to admit Fleur had excellent taste!
There was a knock on the door and Ginny said, "Just a second!" She picked up her clothes and then opened the door. She blushed in surprise, "Oh Harry! Just the person I need!" He gaped at her and she had to say she loved the reaction. The effect was almost instantaneous. He garbled, "You look uh…um…" Ginny smiled and asked in a whisper, "Do you mind zipping me up? I can't seem to reach the buttons…"
She turned so that her back was to him, and she moved her hair to the front so that it wouldn't get in the way.
Harry mumbled under his breath, "Sure. You look beautiful." Ginny felt her insides squirm as she felt him trace his fingers up her back, while doing the buttons. She just about got out, "Thanks Harry. You're just being nice." Once he was done, she grabbed the bow and wrapped it around her midsection, "Do you mind? Sorry it's a bit of a process getting ready." Harry swiftly did the bow and he said, "I wasn't just being nice. I meant it."
Ginny sighed and then he did something unexpected and leant forward, kissing her shoulder. She closed her eyes and turned to face him, "Harry you said you wouldn't…" He grumbled, "You shouldn't make it so tempting." Ginny blushed furiously now as she stared into his green eyes. They had that same, hungry look in them that they didn't have the whole of the last year they were together. Maybe it's because they both knew Harry's departure was fast approaching.
Ginny whispered, "Feels strange, doesn't it, a wedding? Given everything that's going on?" Harry shrugged and replied, "Maybe that's the best reason to have it? Because of everything that's going on." Ginny nodded in agreement and Harry said suddenly, breaking out of his reverie, "You gave me both coins last night. I need to give you your one back! I'm just going to run and get it." Ginny nodded and waited for him.
Hermione came up the stairs and gasped, "Ginny! You look beautiful! Fleur has good taste." Ginny smiled, "Thanks Hermione. I'm afraid I won't look so pretty when Gabrielle is around. But I guess it will have to do." Hermione rolled her eyes and said seriously, "Ginny, don't talk like that! You look breathtaking." Ginny smiled at her friend in thanks and Harry came running down the stairs with her coin, "Hey Ginny! I'm just going to shower then be down."
Ginny nodded and hurried down to do her make-up. When she was done about twenty minutes later, Ginny came down to see the Delacour's already making a fuss of Fleur in the kitchen and Gabrielle was fawning over Harry- who was now dressed in a smart, black tux, his hair still as messy as ever. Gabrielle said, "'arry! I 'ave really meezed England! Even though it is cold a lot. Life vas a lot more interesting in your school than it was at mine!" Harry looked like he was slightly perplexed by it all and wasn't sure what to say. Ginny stared at the little girl, hoping she would get the message. As predicted, she looked far better in the tight, skinny bridesmaid outfit than Ginny now felt. She couldn't help but feel jealous over her long, silvery blonde hair which matched the dress perfectly.
Harry said suddenly, "Ginny! You look amazing!" Ginny smirked a little and said, "Thanks Harry, you helped me to dress, remember?" Harry grinned at her and Gabrielle looked positively mad. This made Ginny feel a little better as she winked at Harry. She greeted Fleur's mother and father, as well as her grandmother. Her mother said, "Oh! Ginny I barely recognized you! You look lovely." Ginny knew it was meant to be a compliment, but she couldn't help but feel a sting. She thanked Mrs Delacour and her mother ushered her and Harry out the house, "The cutlery needs to be set up! Could you two please help out?" Harry laughed, "I will, Mrs Weasley. I'm just waiting for Hermione to be done and then I'll join you, Ginny." Ginny nodded and headed outside.
She nodded and her and Harry walked towards the tent. Harry said with a grin, "There's no need to be jealous of Gabrielle, you know. She is only eleven." Ginny raised her eyebrows, "Was my expression that obvious?" she asked somewhat sarcastically. Harry chuckled and replied, "Well, it was mostly your comment about me helping you get dressed that gave it away." Ginny laughed as they reached the tent and found the cutlery.
The twins were busy flying some over with their wands to a table and George said, "Ah! The lovebirds. You guys have a look at that table over there. That's how Fleur wants the layout." Fred asked casually, "Lovebirds, George? I thought they had broken up?" There was silence that lingered in the air and George smirked, "Yeah, but then there was a little incident in a bedroom upstairs yesterday according our dear brother Ron."
The twins looked at them pointedly and Harry mumbled to Ginny, "Let's get going with these plates then." George chuckled, "Avoiding the question are we, Harry? Or should I call you 'arry like Fleur and Gabrielle?" Ginny rolled her eyes and began un-stacking the plates. There were at least ten round tables and then the rectangular bridal table.
Ginny and Harry worked in silence because Fred and George were trying to entertain each other by seeing who could set a table quickest. When they finished a table Ginny asked Harry, "Do you know when you guys will be leaving?" Harry shook his head and then levitated some more plates over to another table, "Nope. We've barely had time to plan, thanks to your mom trying to distract us." That's when her mother waltzed in, with non other than Aunt Muriel at her side, "Ginny! Ginny Aunt Muriel is trying to find her place! Please help her out?"
Ginny nodded and walked up to her aunt, "Hey Aunt Muriel! How are you doing?" She said with a shrug, "I'm alive and well and I suppose that's as best as I can be!" She turned and saw Harry, who smiled at her nervously. Her granny raised her eyebrows in surprise, "And this is your beau, Harry Potter, I see?" Ginny sighed as Harry joined them and she said, "No Aunt Muriel, we've broken up." Muriel frowned at Harry and asked coldly, "My niece not good enough for you, Potter?" Harry seemed a bit perplexed, and Ginny turned to see Fred and George snickering in the background. She glared at them and they were canning themselves!
Harry stumbled over his words, "No ma'am. I just…I um…last year in school will be pretty busy and…" Muriel interrupted him, "Don't bother explaining yourself. My niece can do much better." Ginny refrained from glaring at her aunt and said, "I'm going to go and find your name tag." She grabbed her aunt and pulled her over to table three. Unfortunately she was sitting next to Ginny, which caused her to groan internally. Then she also saw Gabrielle's name placed beside Harry's. She sighed and shook her head, before sitting her aunt down. She yelled, "Fred, George! One of you come and keep Auntie Muriel company? I need to go and touch up." Aunt Muriel said loudly as Hermione walked in with Ron, "Go and lengthen that dress of yours, dear! It's far too short!" This had the twins doubling over in laughter. Ginny rolled her eyes and as she walked out she winked at Harry, who was chuckling himself.

Ginny walked down the isle, she could hardly believe that Bill of all people was marrying Fleur! It had all felt like a distant dream not so long ago. She remembered telling Bill he would find someone soon. She just hadn't dreamt it would be someone she knew. The idea made her smile as she walked down the isle, behind Gabrielle.
She heard her aunt comment again from the left, "Ginerva's dress! Far too short!" This caused Ginny to glance around and wink at Harry with a smirk. He grinned back at her as she reached the front and then she went to go and stand behind Bill. He was grinning from ear to ear as she approached, and he only had eyes for Fleur.
Fleur really did look stunning in a classic, white ball gown. The dress had just enough of a puff, so that she didn't look like a meringue cake and it actually flowed out nicely at the edges. It had a simple bodice with a bow cinching her midline. The real detail was in the white lace at the back of the dress, and the intricate buttons which tied it all together. She looked like a classic model.
Ginny couldn't help but feel a little happy about Fleur and Bill. If Bill could find someone in these dark times, Bill Weasley of all people, then it meant her and Harry still stood a chance in the future. As the minister was saying his part, Ginny couldn't help but stare at Harry. He was the only person he saw possible in her future. There was no-one else. She had adored him since she was eleven years old, and that puppy love had grown into something much more mature, and much more adult, and much fuller. She loved him completely now, in every way thinkable with all of his flaws. It made her grin to realize that he was watching her too. She averted her gaze briefly, but then it inevitably slid back to him. This caused her cheeks to blush. After all this time, he still had this effect on her. She supposed he always would.

When Bill and Fleur took the floor for the first dance, everyone cheered. Ron, surprisingly, offered his hand to Hermione. Hermione accepted gratefully. She somehow always managed to look beautiful, even in the most simplest of dresses. Harry surprised her by offering his hand to her, "Shall we?" Ginny laughed, "You really want to? In front of all of my brothers?" He grinned at her, "All the more reason."
Ginny chuckled and accepted his hand. She placed her arms around his neck and he placed his around her waist. It was a slow song.
And darling I will be loving you 'til we're 70
And baby my heart could still fall as hard at 23
And I'm thinking 'bout how people fall in love in mysterious ways
Maybe just the touch of a hand
Oh me I fall in love with you every single day
And I just wanna tell you I am
Ginny felt her eyes tearing up slowly and so she placed her head on Harry's shoulder. He rubbed her back gently and she couldn't help but sigh- out of both love and sadness. The lyrics of the song were really getting to her. They just fit perfectly.
So honey now
Take me into your loving arms
Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars
Place your head on my beating heart
I'm thinking out loud
Maybe we found love right where we are
Ginny did as the song said and placed her hand gently over Harry's heart. He gently kissed her cheek. They swayed around and she lifted her head so she could look into his green eyes. And how she seemed to be feeling seemed to be reflected back at her.
A/N: GUYS! Firstly I've finished university! Whoop Whoop! Wrote my last exam on Friday and couldn't be happier! Secondly…I'm sorry it has taken so long but that is the reason why! And I think this chapter will make up for it in length! In total, it's about three and a bit pages in length! I know I'm drawing it out slightly, the last Harry and Ginny moments together, but I find it necessary. It made me sad in the books that they didn't get an official goodbye. So this is it! Hope you guys love it!
AND on a side note! NINETY ONE followers guys! Wowser's! I cannot thank you all enough! So much love!
P.S: The song? Thinking out loud by Ed Sheeran in case you didn't know ;)
