Ginny walked towards the kitchens after they won the match. She felt the strange need to ask Dobby if he'd received any reply of her letter to Harry, or if he'd even managed to get it to Harry. She reached the painting with all the food on it and pressed the pear until it laughed. It opened for her and just as she was stepping inside, her pocket began burning!
She pulled it out of her pocket and almost dropped it because of its heat! She fumbled to pick it back up again and stared at the coin as it read: Ministry of Magic. Ginny gasped audibly and covered her mouth with her hand in surprise! They were breaking into the ministry! What for? She stared at the coin that was still read hot in her hand and decided to place it back in her robe pocket.

Dobby came running to her as she entered the portrait hole. He smiled at her widely and said excitedly Miss Weasley! So good to see you again. Congratulations on your most recent victory!" Ginny couldn't help but smile. He was so sweet. She whispered while all the house elves carried on with their work, "Thanks Dobby! Do you have anything for me?"

Dobby nodded eagerly and took her to the small closet of his that she was in last time. He handed her the letter and said gently, "Mr Potter suggests you read it on your own." Ginny hugged Dobby tightly and whispered, "Thank you! Thank you so much Dobby. This means so much to me. It truly does!" She was almost tearing up and Dobby whispered, "It's ok, Miss Weasley. It's ok."

He patted her back comfortingly and Ginny whispered, "How does he look?" Dobby sighed and shrugged, "Hard to tell, Miss. He seems fine…but Mr Potter is not one to show emotions easily." Ginny laughed lightly and murmured, "You're right. Sorry fro asking, Dobby." Dobby shrugged his shoulders and asked, "Can I get Miss Weasley anything?" Ginny smiled gratefully but politely declined, "Thanks Dobby, but I'm fine." Dobby nodded and then let her be.

Ginny turned on the light and opened the letter slowly. She inhaled sharply before reading:

Dear Ginny

Thank you for your letter. It really lifted my spirits. I've been feeling down stuck here…and I just want to get going and doing things! We have a plan in motion but we're just waiting for the right time to do so. Obviously I can't explain about it right now, but if you hear rumors…don't worry about us. I wish I could tell you everything. Really I do. I hate keeping these secrets from you…truly I do. But I have to remind myself that it's too risky for you to know anything.

In terms of the match, you've got this Gin! You're always so much better at a challenge than you think you are! If this letter gets to you by the time you've played the match, I'm betting you've won and now I can tell you that I told you so!

You didn't say anything about another guy and that makes me wonder…please don't hold back Ginny, from whatever you may feel. I won't ever hold that against you.

I hope you're doing well and that you're acing everything.

I still love you and I miss you everyday

Infinite love

Harry

Ginny sighed and stared at the parchment in her hands. She traced the letters he had written and closed her eyes for just a minute. She remembered how she took him to her room on his birthday and…Ginny shook herself out of her reverie. It did no good to think of those things. It just made the heartache worse. If only there was something she could do…

She pulled her coin out of her pocket that was still simmering. She frowned at it. The words confused her: Ministry of Magic… If they were there then they must be sneaking in. There was no way they could go there unnoticed. Ginny frowned and then it clicked and she whispered to herself, "Polyjuice potion…"

Ginny felt her heart thumping furiously in her chest. She was worried! They were in the ministry and this current moment and it was the most unsafe place for them to be! She bit her lip in worry, her mind swirling from the sudden panic swarming over her. There was a knock on the door that jolted her out of her thoughts.

Dobby entered and whispered, "Miss Weasley, are you ok?" Ginny nodded hurriedly and whispered, "Dobby, I worry that Harry is in trouble." Dobby's expression instantly turned worried, "Oh no!" he squeaked in a high-pitched tone. Ginny nodded and whispered, "I fear…he's in the Ministry of Magic as we speak." Dobby's eyes widened in surprise, "But Miss Weasley! That is the worst place…" Ginny nodded and she stared at the floor in front of her, "I know. It's the worst place he could be right now. He obviously needs something from there…"

Ginny was fighting back tears. Harry, Ron and Hermione were busy risking their lives and here she was sitting in the school kitchen doing what? Feeling sorry for herself. She scowled at her weakness and Dobby took her hands in his. He patted her hands and whispered, "Miss Weasley…I can go and convince Mr Potter that he shouldn't be there…" Ginny shook her head adamantly, "NO! I mean, no thanks Dobby. Trying to save his life right now will only get him into trouble I'm afraid. So please…don't."

The house elf nodded and grimaced, "So we just sit and wait?" he asked uncertainly. Ginny sighed and nodded, "Yeah. We sit and wait." Dobby frowned, not liking the idea as much as Ginny didn't. He said eventually after a long silence, "Maybe Dobby check on Mr Potter in about three hours or so? I can come and tell you he's ok…?" Ginny smiled at the elf's big, green eyes, "Thank you Dobby. That would mean a lot to me." She leant in and hugged the elf again.

She realized then that the elf was just as concerned for Harry, Ron and Hermione's lives as Ginny was. He had after all, tried to protect Harry from death in second year. He had the most contact with Harry other than anyone else she knew. It felt nice knowing someone else was just as concerned as her.

Ginny released Dobby and smiled at him gratefully, "Thanks Dobby," she whispered and meaning it. The elf forced a smile and said, "It's ok, Miss Weasley, to cry." She laughed at his words but knew that he was right. She hugged him again before whispering, "I better head back to the party…before they all wonder where I am." Dobby smiled sadly and whispered, "Ok Miss Weasley. I'll come to you when I've seen Mr Potter."
She thanked him and walked out of the broom cupboard. She walked through the kitchen and when she got to the portrait hole, she found all of the house elves watching her. She waved goodbye to Dobby and then headed back to Gryffindor Tower. She pierced her lips as she thought about. They were risking their lives to save the world and Ginny was doing what? Nothing! She was sitting here doing nothing and feeling sorry for herself!
As she walked back to the common room, Ginny contemplated what she could do to help Harry, Ron and Hermione so it would make her being here worthwhile. She had Harry's letter and the coin in her pocket and as she dawdled along, lost in thought, Ginny didn't noticed a tall, dark figure approaching her. She couldn't help but clutch onto her wand in her pocket out of reflex.

Then, she frowned and noticed it was Malfoy approaching. She bit the inside of her mouth, wondering what he was doing. He nodded at her and said pleasantly enough, "Good game, Weasley." Ginny's frown furrowed more and she snapped, "Excuse me?! What is with you lately?" Malfoy raised one blonde, pale eyebrow at her and commented disinterestedly, "Nothing…" Ginny persisted and pulled him to a halt, "No, it's not nothing Malfoy. You saved me from Carrow and then you compliment me? This is just not…normal."
Malfoy looked more pale and withdrawn than usual. He suddenly snapped at her and said fiercely, "You want me to be like usual, Weaslette? I don't mind. It doesn't bother me either way." Ginny frowned and she was about to say something when an all-too-familiar voice echoed over her, "Malfoy! Ah I see you've caught Weaselette. What has she been up to? Causing trouble I presume?"
Ginny turned around to see both Carrow's stalking towards her, a broad grin lighting up Amycus' dull features. Damnit! If she had just kept walking and not been bothered by Malfoy's comment…she wouldn't be in this mess! Malfoy chuckled and said darkly to Amycus, "Well actually, I was just about to take Weasley into this classroom for a little TLC." Alecto chuckled and beamed at her brother, "Oh, can't I have a chance to this, Amycus? It's not fair…you have her in your class all the time." Ginny stared at the woman like she was a lunatic! Did she actually do this for fun? Like causing immense pain to people was a sport?! Ginny looked at Malfoy, almost wanting his help.

Then another, dominant female voice echoed throughout the corridor. To Ginny's immense relief, she found Professor McGonagall at the end of the hallway. She was striding towards the other two with a look of pure determination on her face. She said in a brisk tone, "Alecto, what do you think you're doing?" Alecto's wand was out and pointed at Ginny, ready to strike. Ginny felt her heart pounding away in her chest and she hadn't realized it until now.

McGonagall reached them and Alecto glared at McGonagall with hatred in her eyes, "I was just lecturing them…p…professor!" It was almost laughable how scared this women was of Professor McGonagall's fierce gleam in her eyes. McGonagall huffed impatiently and muttered, "Need I remind the two of you that the three Unforgivable Curses are not permitted at Hogwarts under any circumstances…especially not to students who have done nothing but win a Quidditch match."

The two Professor's refused to look at her. Amycus wasn't as phased as he piped up, "As we were saying, Professor, we were just…" McGonagall barked at them, "LEAVE! I'm tired of your low-life excuses! Just LEAVE!" The two turned their backs and regretfully retreated from McGonagall.

Ginny sighed in relief and whispered, "Thank you, Professor. I…" The professor was shaking her head before Ginny was done, "It's quite alright, Miss Weasley. No need to say anything. I wonder if Mr Malfoy could accompany you to your dormitory. I would but I have an urgent meeting with the headmaster." Ginny nodded briefly, and unsurely as Malfoy reluctantly bowed his head and took Ginny up to her dormitory.
They walked in silence for few moments before Malfoy asked, "Why weren't you in your common room anyway? I thought you'd be celebrating?" Ginny stiffened and retorted, "It's none of your ruddy business, Malfoy. Shut it!" They fell silent again and when she finally reached her dormitory, she muttered, "Thanks," and watched him walk off without another word. Strange…very strange. She couldn't fathom his behavior. The change was throwing her off. But then Ginny shook herself and reminded herself: he's Voldemort's wingman. He can't be trusted.

And thirdly in response to certain reviewers:

Guest: Thank you yes my block is clear for now

Starrya47: Yes you are kind of right. Voldemort is getting into Ginny's head in a similar way that he did with Harry. It's mostly because of their connection through the Diary. He knows all of Ginny's strengths and weaknesses. It's not quite so direct though as it is with Harry and Ginny doesn't know what's happening.

Pablo: Thanks very much for taking so much of your time to read this story! It truly means a lot to me and thank you for your opinions and suggestions. They will definitely be taken into account. I still don't fully know about Ginny joining them because of the trace or when/if it will happen so there are still decisions to be made in the future of the story. but thank you so much for your time I truly appreciate it.
