It was the last day of April and Ginny paced her room anxiously. She needed to talk to Neville. She hadn't heard a word from him! And more importantly, she had a sickening feeling in her gut that Harry was planning to act soon. She didn't know what it was he was planning, but deep down in her bones she knew. She couldn't eat much these days because the tight knot of anxiety in her stomach wouldn't make room for lots of food.

Ginny sat down eventually and wrote a letter to Neville. She wrote untidily, her hands shaking:

Dear Neville

I hope you're ok? I haven't heard from you and I'm just checking in to see how you're doing? I miss you. I hate not being at school. Please say hi to everyone from me?
I just want you to know that I have a gut feeling that Harry, Ron and Hermione are planning on coming to the school soon. I don't know why but I can just sense it.

Please do me a favour and let me know when they're there? I know it might sound crazy, but I believe it with my every being. I reckon you should start getting people to fight and defend our school.

I'll see you soon

Ginny

She nodded in satisfaction and then used Pig to send off the letter. She collapsed on her bed in a heap and then huffed out a breath of air. She missed home, she missed school, and mostly she missed Harry. She hoped he was coming back and that her gut instinct was right, because she was willing to fight for what she missed so much.

On the second of May at around five in the evening, Ginny was busy making supper. Her mother had forgotten some ingredient or other for the dinner and so had gone back to the shops. Auntie Muriel was lying on her bed reading a book. Suddenly, two tall, red-headed figures appeared at the edge of the garden. Ginny frowned and placed down her knife, before she hurried to the end of the garden.

She stared at her brothers and whispered, "What's going on guys?" Fred and George were positively beaming. Fred chuckled, "I think you should tell her, George?" George shook his head and whispered, "No, Fred you discovered it!" Ginny was growing increasingly impatient and she scowled irritably at them before snapping, "Just tell me already!" She threw her hands up in the air in exasperation.

The twins cast a sidelong glance at each other and George chuckled, "Well the thing is, Gin, Fred just went to go and visit our darling brother, Bill." Fred smirked at her and chuckled, "Yeah! And when I got there, it turns out a certain Harry, Ron and Hermione have upped and left." Ginny grinned and nodded eagerly, "And?" she persisted. George grinned with a new found anticipation, "And I just heard from Lee via owl post. He says alarms have been triggered in Hogsmeade. There are reports that Harry, Ron and Hermione have been spotted!"

Ginny was practically bouncing on the balls of her feet now. She beamed broadly at them, "So? Are we going or what?" Fred nodded briefly, "Yes Gin, but I think you should tell mum where you are and that you're with us, so that she doesn't have heart failure when she sees you're gone!" Ginny sighed and George nodded, "He's right." She protested, "But if mum comes here she won't let me leave!" George said quickly, "Write her a note." Ginny nodded and then hurried in the house before they changed their minds about taking her with them. Aunt Muriel kept a notebook with a pen on the fridge. It was a magnetic one. Ginny quickly scribbled:

Dear Mum, Dad and Auntie Muriel

I have gone to Hogwarts to help Harry, Ron and Hermione. Don't panic! Fred and George are with me.

Ginny paused and turned to her brothers who had followed her inside, "How will they know where to find us in Hogwarts?" George replied, "Lee also said that people can get in through the Hogs Head. I guess we'll figure it out when we get there."

Ginny nodded and added:

We're getting in through the Hogs Head bar. I'm not sure how it works, but that's what Lee had conveyed to the twins. I'll see you soon. Please don't have a heart attack!

All of my love

Ginny

She signed it, and rushed to her room, grabbing her wand from her robes in her trunk. She hadn't used in wand in a long time. It would feel good to use it again. When she returned to the twins, she gave them a firm nod. They walked to end of the garden, before disappearing.

When they arrived in the Hogs Head, Aberforth ushered them inside. He was a blunt, and rather unfriendly character. He showed them to a portrait of a girl who was meant to be his sister. She was a lot younger than him at any rate, but that didn't matter right now. Fred, George and Ginny found themselves climbing into the portrait and Aberforth grunted, "Follow the tunnel to the end. Be wary when you get there. It's quite a dip down." Ginny turned around and asked him softly, "Did Harry Potter come through here?" Aberforth raised his eyebrows at Ginny and grunted, "You'll see soon enough."

Just before they were about to head down the tunnel, two more figures apparated into the bar. Ginny turned to see Lee Jordan and to her great surprise and dismay…Cho Chang. She stared in disbelief at the girl who had betrayed the D.A. Fred and George were greeting Lee with great enthusiasm. Cho walked over to her slowly before saying, "Hi Ginny. I'm ready to fight." Ginny appraised the girl with complete skepticism. She still didn't trust Cho, but she supposed they needed numbers. Ginny nodded briefly, and without saying a word, climbed back into the tunnel.

Ginny's heart was pounding as she hurried through the tunnel. The words "Harry is here! Harry is here!" echoed through her mind on a relentless loop! They had been doing so ever since the twins had delivered the news at Aunt Muriel's. She was gripping her wand and she was pleased she had worn sensible, comfortable clothing today.

Fred had his wand lit behind her, so they could just about see in front of them. The tunnel ceiling dipped lower and Ginny ducked her head, everyone else following suit. When she finally reached another portrait, she pushed it open. Ginny scanned the room and she heard shouts from below. When her eyes landed on their target, Ginny's heart sky-rocketed and she felt the adrenalin pump through her veins. He was a live and he was here!
Ginny stared at Harry for a moment that seemed to last forever and she was positively beaming. The relief of seeing him alive reverberated through her body and she could barely move her muscles. His face had lit up for a second, and then dropped the next. She frowned, a little confused at the sudden change in his demeanor. As she clambered down the ladder, she whispered hoarsely, "Hi Harry…"

It seemed as if her voice had gotten lodged in her throat. Ron, standing beside Harry, commented, "Six months she hasn't seen me and it's like I'm Frankie First year. I'm only her brother." Ginny couldn't help but stare at Harry, even though the room had gone fairly quiet. Seamus chuckled and replied to Ron, "She's got lots of those though, but only one Harry." This comment made Ginny blush like she hadn't in a long, long time. Then Harry whispered, "Hi there."
Harry's eyes hadn't left her since she'd walked into the room. She felt the force of his gaze was so strong that it made her weak at the knees. She wanted to go to him and hug him desperately- and never let go, but she somehow refrained. She knew if she let her emotions get the better of her, she wouldn't let go of Harry. That would be embarrassing, to say the least.

Then Ginny caught sight of Neville and gasped, "Neville! Are you alright?" He had a big, black bruise on his face just under his eye. She hugged him profusely and he hugged her back tightly, "I'm fine thanks, Gin. Carrow had us practice Crucio on first years today. I refused." Ginny nodded and stared at his tired features, "I'm sorry you had to go through that…" she whispered. She knew what it was like. She still had a bruise or two on her ribs from the Carrow's. As if reading her mind, Neville asked her quietly, "And you? How are your ribs?" Ginny shrugged and smiled, "They're working. I can walk again perfectly alright, as you can see." He grinned and sighed in relief, "Thank goodness for that."

Ginny felt eyes boring into her back and then she turned to see Harry staring at her exchange with Neville. She tried not to concern herself with him and then she saw a shock of blonde, curly hair out of her peripheral vision. Luna was standing there, looking a little tired, but otherwise seemingly fine. Ginny squealed in relief and hugged her friend firmly, "Luna! You had me so worried!" Luna sighed and pulled out of the hug, "I'm sorry, Ginny. I got hold up. I will explain later," she said in response to her questioning gaze.

There was a buzz of excitement happening around them and Neville yelled, "Everyone calm down! Alright Harry, we're ready to help you guys in whatever you need help with! Isn't that right?" There was a general agreement of, "Yes!" being shouted across the room. Harry seemed to sway on the balls of his feet for a moment and Neville frowned, "Harry, are you alright? Do you need a rest?"

Harry shook his head and Ginny suddenly realized what was going on. Voldemort must be trying to take control! Ginny hurried to Harry's side, unable to help herself, and squeezed Harry's hand. It was an automatic need to comfort him, like her actions were out of her control. He opened his eyes in a flash and then he turned to stare at her. Ginny smiled encouragingly. She was pleased when he didn't immediately remove his hand from hers. In fact, he seemed to clasp onto it harder, needing it for balance.

Harry took a moment before saying, "Well…we need to find something. It will help us finish…You-Know-Who." Ernie McMillan asked, "What is it?" Harry looked embarrassed as he replied, "We don't know." Neville frowned and questioned, "Where is it?" Harry glanced down at his feet, clearly unable to answer this either, "We don't know that either. I realize it's nothing to go on." Seamus commented, "It's nothing to go on."

Neville said eagerly, "Let us help you, Harry! We've been waiting for you to come so we can help fight! This is our chance!" Harry swayed unsteadily and Ginny squeezed his hand again as he closed his eyes. He seemed to be panicking. Harry turned to Ron and Hermione behind them, "What do we do?" he asked worriedly. Ron murmured, "They could help us, Harry. There's some Ravenclaw's among them. They might know where it is." Ron cast a sidelong glance at Ginny and then she hugged him, "Hey Ron. I've missed you." He chuckled, "Yeah, so much more than Harry it seems."
Ginny smiled, knowing he was just teasing her. Then Harry turned to face the crowd, "Right, we're looking for something belonging to one of the house founders. Something small and easily concealable. Something maybe belonging to Ravenclaw?" He looked at the Ravenclaw's in the crowd, including Cho. Ginny was happy to realize he didn't look at Cho in the same way Harry looked at her. Luna said into the silence, "Well, there's the Lost Diadem of Ravenclaw." She was standing beside Michael Corner and Cho. Cho rolled her eyes in a demeaning manner, "Yes, but Luna, the whole point is that it's lost. It's been missing for centuries now. There's no-one alive today who's seen it."

Ron murmured from behind her, "Oh bloody hell! Here we go!" Harry grimaced and said, "Well…does anyone know what it looks like?" Cho nodded eagerly and responded, "There's a statue of Rowena Ravenclaw in our tower. If you'd like, I can show you there, Harry?" Suddenly, an unanticipated frustration gripped Ginny. She had been watching the proceedings silently, without interrupting since she had arrived. But Ginny did not for one moment like the idea of Harry's ex-girlfriend accompanying him to the tower. She still did not fully trust Cho. Something inside Ginny snapped and she said firmly, "No! Luna can show Harry, wouldn't you Luna?" Luna beamed and nodded gratefully, "I would love to!"

Harry turned to look at Ginny after her sudden outburst. She hadn't meant to react so angrily, but she couldn't contain herself. However, Ginny noticed a smile playing on Harry's lips. She watched his eyes glint at her and then he turned to Luna, "Alright then, Luna lead the way. Neville…just come here a moment please?"

Harry beckoned Neville over to the side and Ginny heard him say, "Whatever you do, make sure Ginny doesn't leave this room." He glanced at her sideways and then stared at Neville, waiting for his answer. Neville gave a brief nod and whispered, "I'll do my best."

A/N: Hey all! Thanks so much for the positivity once again! And so begins the Battle of Hogwarts! I've been looking forward to writing this chapter because it means Harry and Ginny will finally be together again! I'm super happy with the way it turned out! These next few chapters might take me a while because I want to refer back to the book and make sure I get my facts straight! Anyway, please enjoy and let me know thoughts!
