I do not own PJO or A:TLA
Chapter 18
In the makeshift throne room aboard her air ship, Azula sat upon her golden throne. It was smaller and less magnificent than the palace at home, but the Fire Nation paraphernalia made it feel like home, however depressing it was.
The young princess was still not satisfied.
She tapped her long, perfect finger nails on the arm rest and furrowed her brow.
Something was off about that new boy that was traveling with her traitorous brother and the Avatar.
Unless she was crazy, he had bended two elements.
Two elements. In front of the current Avatar.
Back home, her father was busy. Preparing and plotting, but maybe this would be of enough importance to disturb him.
Slowly, she took out a parchment and spread it out on a desk off to the side. She picked up her pen and dipped it in the ink and began to write.
To Fire Lord Ozai
Dear Father,
As I write to you I am sailing on the outskirts of your great nation. Everything is running smoothly with the ship and the crew.
I came across my traitor brother and the Avatar the other day and I was very concerned about their new traveling companion.
He looked unlike a Water Tribe peasant or an Earth Kingdom dog and yet, he could bend both of these elements.
Yes, Father.
He could bend water and earth and the Avatar was with him.
That is why I write you this letter.
I will take care of him and the rest of the group before Sozin's comet arrives and our plans will go forward as we hoped.
Your daughter and faithful servant
Azula
"Guard!" She yelled and immediately a nervous guard appeared at the doorway.
"Y-yes? My Princess?"
"Bring me the fastest messenger hawk on the ship. I have news for the Fire Lord."
"Yes. I'll do it myself." He ducked out quickly and the door clanged shut.
Azula sat rigid in her throne and rubbed her temple with her perfectly manicured finger.
Her father would believe her. He would have to. He wasn't like those traitors Mai and Ty-Lee.
No, her father was the Fire Lord. If he couldn't be trusted, who could?
She had thought that about her girls... Before they stabbed her in the back and betrayed her. It was mutiny. They had probably been planning it behind her back this whole time and laughing at her.
They deserved their punishment. The Boiling Rock... They deserved it.
Didn't they?
She looked wildly around the room and looked at her rolled up parchment. The red Fire Nation insignia seemed to laugh at her itself.
Father wouldn't think she was crazy, she wasn't like her uncle or brother. No, she was just like her father. Just like him.
She made a grab for the letter and in a few seconds it was burning and the ashes were floating gently to her feet.
Her eyes darted to the door where she heard footsteps. Her crew was probably planning against her right now. Planning to make a fool of her and ruin her chances of proving to her father that she was capable and just like him.
The door opened and the guard peeked in again.
"Princess, I brought you the-"
Azula shot a ball of blue fire at him, knocking the door off it's hinges and smashing him into the wall behind. He crumpled unconscious to the floor without a sound.
The young princess tossed her bangs out of her face and turned to look at the Fire Nation flat that hung across the room.
She knew what they thought of her. She wouldn't let them.
She was in charge of who betrayed her today.
