Second, My little story is over 14,000 views! That's amazing! :D
Now, for this little chapter. These Little Chapters will just be short little tidbits of what the RWBY Boys would be like if they met the RWBY girls. Just funny, if maybe a little heartwarming, snipits of them together. Enjoy!
Ruben sat in the chair, staring into the ceiling light. The flickering annoyed him. He squinted, rubbing his eyelids as he groaned softly.
Why did he fight? He could have simply walked away. Could have walked away. But when they brought his family into the mix. Something with county lines and his mother's weight. That's when he tackled one of them. That's when the police got into the fray.
He heard the sound of boots squeaking against the tile. He hated these squeaky clean floors. They were annoying. Especially with clean boots. That sound would make his bones shake. Make his skin crawl.
"Sit next to him." The voice was that old orderly 'I am the law' voice. Probably the same one who cuffed Ruben. Sounded like him.
"OK. Thank you, sir." That wasn't the voice. It was high, it was sweet. Almost sickly cute. Like a cutesy anime girl in one of Yin's animes. Ruben glanced out of the corner of his eye, seeing this little girl sit beside him.
Her dark hair a few shades darker than the corset she wore. With red strings tying it together as red as the crimson cloak she adorned on her back.
She rocked in her seat from side to side, humming some song in her head. Her silver eyes glistening as she bobbed her head from side to side. A very slick sort of silver, one that Ruben would find in any sort of rifle casing.
Ruben pulled his coat closer to himself, trying to drown out the humming as he focused on his excuses.
"They ganged up on me."
Mhmmm. Hmmm. Hm. Hm. Hmmmm.
"They looked dangerous."
MhmHmmmm. Mhm. Hm. Hm. Hmm.
"It was either me or them."
Mhmm. Mhm. MHmm-
"Stop." The voice was clear, it was annoyed by the constant noise. It sounded as though he was reaching the breaking point of his sanity. Or his patience.
Maybe both.
Ruby glanced over at the boy, his graying goatee and the edge of his mutton chops peeking out of his pulled over hood. The dark red duster turned in her direction slightly, a single sharp silver eye appearing in the darkness of its hood. "Please."
"Sorry!" Ruby hopped up, raising her hands in the air as she leaned away in her seat. This man looked as though he might deserve to be here. With broad shoulders, thick arms, and a voice not unlike any hoodlum in the area. Deep and sorta menacing. Ruby laid her hands in her lap, keeping her eyes forward.
She couldn't get out of here sooner.
She glanced out the corners to see him resting his cheek on his fist.
"So..." Ruby rubbed the back of her head, eyes circling all around the hallway. Glancing over the tiles. Over the bright overhead lights. Before finally landing on the boy beside her. "Come here often?"
Ruby face palmed herself the moment she remembered that 'here' was the police department. She swore to move someplace far away once this was dealt with. This embarrassment would follow her to the end of her days, she was sure of it.
"Only when I get caught." Ruben smirked, leaning back in his seat as he pulled off his hood. He could count the times he's been here on both his hands. Maybe even his feet if he got technical. He turned towards Ruby, his lips still curled into that smile. "You?"
"Ohhh you know," Ruby waved it off, letting out a chuckle as she turned away. Her cheeks reddening at the embarrassment. "Property damage..."
"What did you do?" Ruben asked, more impressed than anything. This little girl? Who would come up to about his chin, who was as thin as a needle, caused property damage?
"I might have...caused some...collateral. Damage. It was messy." Ruby finished in a flash, not wanting to dwell too much on the subject. Ruben nodded, turning his eyes away for a brief moment as he rolled his shoulders back.
"Hey, listen," Ruben turned back to Ruby, his eyes squinting as he resting his elbows on his knees. "Sorry about the whole, 'Stop' thing. I'm just tired. Been here a while. Not really want to be here much longer."
"It's fine." Ruby said, flashing him a bright smile as she crossed her legs. She rested her intertwined hands on her knee, tilting her head to the side. "Makes sense. Don't worry about it."
"So," Ruben rotated his hand, his eyes bouncing around the room as he rolled the 'o'. "You like stuff?"
"I do." Ruby smiled, nodding her head as she rocked to and fro in her seat. Taking aside glances as she tried to avoid his dark silver eyes. Making her quiver in her seat and red in the cheeks. "Do you like stuff?"
"I like stuff."
"Then we agree." Ruby giggled, as she brushed some of her dark hair behind her ear. "We both like stuff."
"What kind of stuff?" Ruben shrugged, withholding a palm to the face. He must've been sounding like an idiot. Talking like a buffoon to such a cute girl.
"Oh, you know." Ruby waved at him, touching the tips of her fingers together as her eyes dropped to the floor. She let out a few 'ha's as she felt her hands shaking. "Books...cartoons...Weaponry-"
"What kind of weaponry?" Ruben asked, leaning in close as he felt his lips curl into a smile. Ruby smiled back, folding her hands together.
"All kinds. I've even made my own! A High Caliber Sniper Scythe. You know, if you're into that-"
"Do you use anything to counterweight the massive recoil? I imagine your shooting cartridges as long as my forearm." Ruben patted his forearm, chuckling. Ruby shook her head, her smile lighting up the room.
"I don't! I actually use the recoil to evade!" Ruby stated her hands gripping the sides of her chair. Ruben nodded his head, laughing softly to himself. He pulled off his hood, cracking his neck as he rotated it around his shoulders.
Ruby felt her eyes squint for a moment. This man was just a boy. Well, not a boy. He had a beard and graying hair. But instead of wrinkles and various stories of the good old days, he looked sort of...handsome?
Well, not handsome. He had a fair jaw and strong neck. A stare that would cut through any sort of iron or gold. With an odd piece of gentleness and sophistication that a cup of warm tea would coax out. With smooth cheeks, not flabby nor sunken in, with an ever-present scowl residing. Though, Ruby would like to see those lips curl to a smile.
"That I would like to see." Ruben mumbled, hearing Ruby giggle as she averted her eyes. Ruben slowly began rubbing his chin with his thumb. He glanced over at Ruby, her cute little button nose and warm smiles. Her lovely silver orbs and her quirky way of talking to people she met at the police department.
Ruben cleared his throat, his hands resting on his knees as he let out a sigh.
"Hey listen, maybe after this, we could-"
"Thorn! Your brother is here to get you." The intercom rudely interrupted, just as he wanted to ask the girl out on a date. Ruben lost his smile. Not was Yin here, but effectively stopped him from trying to talk to this girl. Which meant instead of getting a coffee or something, he was going to be dragged all over the city to help Yin find the guys who jumped him.
What a night yo be had.
"Oh...no." Ruben got up, glancing over at Ruby one last time. He waved, his hands retracting to his pockets. "I'll see you soon."
"Wait? Wha-"
"Knowing my brother," Ruben began walking away, shutting his eyes as he let out a groan. "I'll be back here in a minute."
