Chapter 6

Baljeet's POV

"Why would I be jealous? You can date who you want and quite frankly he can have you." Before I could say anything, Buford walked out the classroom and slammed the door after him; everything became blurry with tears after he left, "Well that was rude." I sniffled and sighed, wiping the tears from my eyes as I made my way for the cafeteria. I stood in the line and picked the chicken and rice with corn and I grabbed water, I made my way to our usual table, sitting on Ferb's left. They were talking about something but I couldn't really focus, Buford's words echoed in my head.

I sigh and tuned back in to Ferb's complaints about the textbooks lack of English history, "I mean not to be a prat but the United Kingdom is the whole reason America is even as civilized as it is." I rolled my eyes, "While I sort of agree, it was England's sufferable nature that made America revolt the way it did anyway, maybe if the English stopped acting like a bunch of snobby prats, we'd be together still." Ferb chuckled, "Touché my dear Yank." I smiled and took a bite of my food, frowning from the lack of seasoning. "Phineas, would you mind passing me the hot sauce?" He raised an eyebrow, "But Buford is way closer to it than I am."

I looked at Buford and he passed it to Phineas who with eyebrows raised handed it to me, "Thank you." He shrugged, "Uh, welcome? So is anyone going to the Homecoming Dance?" Isabella sighed dramatically, putting her hair into a ponytail, "I wouldn't even know what to wear; besides even if I did find something, no one asked me." She looked at Phineas who shrugged, "No one asked me either but I'm still going, I think we all should, dates or not I'm sure it'd be a blast!" Ferb grinned, "I think so too, although I'm pretty sure Baljeet is going to be the only one with a date." Everyone but Buford looked at me and I could feel my face getting hot, "Well its not like Chad asked me to go!" I felt arms wrap around me and a kiss on my cheek, "I haven't had a chance to ask yet, so what do you think baby boy? You, me, homecoming?"

I sneaked a glance a Buford as he put down his sandwich, frowning but not looking at me, I turn my eyes back to Chad and feeling my face warm up as I gave him a small smile, "Um, I don't see why not." He grinned and kissed me on the lips, "Awesome, I'll see you later babe." He wen t back to his table and seconds later they cheered, I turned back around to face my friends, all of whom were smiling, except Phineas who seemed distracted and Buford who looked annoyed. "Well, wasn't that romantic?" the table burst out laughing which made me blush even more.

Buford turned to Phineas and whispered something in his ear making Phineas look down, blush and giggle. Buford looked down for a spit second, his eyes going slightly wider and when he glanced at Phineas, he grinned, becoming slightly redder himself. From that point on, they were both more animated and involved with our conversation which piqued my curiosity, the bell rang and it was again time for classes, Isabella let her hair down, "Well I'm off to French, au revoir mon amies." Ferb was nowhere to be found and it was just Phineas, Buford and I.

Phineas smiled, "Well I'm off to art, see you guys later. Oh and play nice!" I was prepared to ask what he meant but noticed he was looking at Buford as he said this, the ex-bully smiled as he turned away, "Yeah, yeah, yeah, later dinner bell." Phineas punched him in the arm smiling and left, so now it was just me and Buford. However before I could even speak he just left towards his class, without walking me to my Calculus class, which he always does. I speed walk to catch up to the meat head and we walked in silence.

"So, anyone in mind for the dance? Who's caught your eye?" More silence, hmmm…there goes that conversation-"Its not you or Chad so why do you care?" Ouch, not like that hurt my feelings or anything. I try again, "I mean I was just curious! Besides I figured maybe you'd tell me away from the others." I wink in his direction but was instead met with an icy glare. We stop in front of my class, but before I could say anything he's already on the way to his. This is SO frustrating!
