Hello everyone. I do hope that you all had a marvelous Holiday Celebration. So I do hope you all enjoy this late appearing chapter. As a warning, I have merged two chapters together to create this one.
Disclaimer: Don't own Doctor Who or Sarah Jane characters!
Rose has just gotten into the bathtub when she hears the door to their bedroom close. Leaning back so that she is covered by the bubbles, she waits to see who is going to come through the bathroom door.
"Rose? You in the bathroom?" The Doctor calls out from their bedroom.
"In here, Doctor." Rose shouts in reply.
The bathroom door opens to reveal the Doctor, who is only wearing his trousers. His shirt and jacket had been discarded upon entering their bedroom. He continues his journey into the bathroom with a smile spreading across his face. He wasn't exactly sure how he would have found Rose after showing Luke to a room that the Tardis made for him.
"Having a bubble bath? Without me?" The Doctor jokes as he slowly walks towards the large tub.
"Aren't I entitled to some alone time?" Rose teases while her eyes roam over the Doctor's broad chest.
"Not on my Tardis." The Doctor says while slowly removing his trousers, socks, and trainers. "Sit up so that I may join you? Might even give you a massage while I'm back there."
Rose does as he asks and soon feels the Doctor's body come up behind hers. He brushes some of her blonde hair off her shoulders before he starts to massage the base of her neck.
"We will be needing to talk with Jack when he wakes." The Doctor says softly to Rose before placing a gentle kiss against her neck.
"Really? Why?" Rose hazily mumbles out.
"The Tardis seems to think that Jack sees Luke as some sort of threat."
"A threat? To who?"
"To himself and his relationship with Jenny. Or at least that is what the Tardis thinks."
"You, Doctor, seem to be forgetting just whose son he is. How did you react when Adam, Jack and Mickey joined us on the Tardis?" Rose giggles out as she finally puts two-and-two together on what the Tardis was trying to convey to the Doctor.
The Doctor lets out a soft growl before nipping at the skin of Rose's neck, while his hands leave her back to journey down towards the soft swell of Rose's stomach. But before his hands can go any farther south, a soft tapping echoes in from their bedroom.
"I think that we will have to finish this later." Rose groans out half in frustration and half in wanting need.
She gets out of the bathtub and reaches for her fuzzy pink and blue paisley colored robe. After tying a knot to keep the robe closed, she walks out of the bathroom while towel drying her hair.
'Can't seem to catch a break, my thief?'
'Oi! You keep your comments to yourself or I just might forget to take care of you.' thought the Doctor to the Tardis.
Suddenly the water to the tub turn ice cold and the Doctor climbs out of the bath tub. Grabbing his red and navy blue robe, the Doctor ties a knot to help keep his robe closed. Then he lets the water out of the tub, and heads out to their bedroom.
It is here that the Doctor sees Jack and Rose cuddling in the bed. The little boy's eyes are red and his cheeks look wet. As the Doctor moves closer to the bed, he notices that his son's body is shaking and this doesn't sit well with the Doctor.
"What's happened?" He asks Rose as he gently climbs up onto the bed.
"He's had a night terror." Rose replies as she gently runs one of her hands threw Jack's brown locks. "He won't tell me what it was about, though."
The Doctor lets out a soft sigh before reaching out with one had to brush the back of his knuckles against Jack's wet cheek. He lets his thumb brush away the built up tears that haven't left from underneath the boy's eyes.
"Hey Jack. You alright?" The Doctor softly asks his son, hoping that the boy would let slip what it was that frightened him.
Jack lets out a sniffle and shakes his head, but refuses to tell his father what he had dreamed. There was no way that Jack was going to tell. So instead Jack burrows himself further into his mother's side. With his eyes dropping shut, Jack feels each of his parents placing gentle kisses into his hair.
Once Jack has fallen asleep, both the Doctor and Rose decide that they too shall get some sleep.

It had been nine hours since everyone had gone to bed and eight hours since the Doctor woke up. Not wanting to wake up Rose or their son, the Doctor left the bedroom in search for something to keep him occupied. So here he was working in the console room, running several diagnostics, when the sound of feet shuffling on the grating gets his attention. Glancing up from the readings on the console, he sees Luke standing in the room while still wearing his borrowed pajama bottoms.
"Can we go visit mum today?" Luke asks shyly while picking at the bottom of his borrowed green plaid pajama top.
"Sure we can. We just have to wait till everyone else is awake and fed. Trust me, a hungry Rose is not a pleasant person to be around. Especially with this current pregnancy."
"Umm. Where is the kitchen?"
"Ahhh, yes. Give me a second, and I'll take you there."
The Doctor steps away from the console while trying to hide a worrying look from appearing on his face. From what the readings the Tardis gave him, the Doctor is wondering how to approach Rose about the pregnancy. Then with the readings on Jack, the Doctor is even more concerned with how much Time Lord Jack has in him.
"Doctor?" Luke says, wondering if the Doctor was prone to slip into bouts of frozenness.
"Right. Kitchen. Follow me." The Doctor replies, after having his attention brought back from his musings.
Being careful to show his new ward where the kitchen is, the Doctor leads Luke into the twisting halls of the Tardis. Luke and the Doctor make their way into the kitchen only to find Rose already making breakfast.
"Thought the Tardis might want a day off from cooking for us." Rose says, smiling at the Doctor before turning back towards the stove.
"That is nice of you." The Doctor replies as he comes up behind Rose. Placing his arms around her waist, the Doctor whispers into Rose's ear. "So what are you making?"
"Well, I have a mad craving for scrambled eggs with basil and cumin mixed in. Then I also have a craving for bananas, so do think you could make me a banana shake?" Rose asks before placing a kiss against the Doctor's cheek.
Rose knew that the Doctor is still feeling a bit guilty for not being there for her when she was pregnant with Jack. That is why she tells him about the cravings she has and watches with interest as the Doctor delighted in making whatever she wants.
"Of course I can, love."
The Doctor sets to work on making that banana shake for Rose while she finishes making breakfast. The Doctor wonders, if during her first pregnancy, if Rose had craved bananas as well.
'I missed the first one, but I'll be there all the way for this little one.' The Doctor thinks to himself.
Luke watches the interactions from the kitchen table as his mother's two friends work together on breakfast. He makes a wish to himself that he could be as lucky to find someone that he could "work" this well with. His thoughts are soon filled of Jenny and what kind of life Jenny and him could have together. This idea shocks Luke out of his thoughts and he notices that Rose is giving him smile.
"Luke. What would like for your breakfast?" Rose asks.
"Just cereal for me, thanks." Luke replies.
"Bananas!" A loud, boisterous voice screams from the doorway of the kitchen.
"Jack!" The Doctor calls out to his rambunctious son.
"But daddy! Bananas!" Jack replies as he hurries over to the kitchen table and then gives the Doctor a certain pout.
'Oh Rassilon. That must be the "pout" that Rose accuses me of giving her.' The Doctor thinks to himself.
"Jack! Down boy!" Jenny says suddenly as she walks into the kitchen. She still wearing the pajama's Rose had gotten her a month ago when Rose had Jenny decide on a date on which to celebrate her birthday.
"But Jenny. It's bananas! Bananas are yummy!" Jack shouts with excitement ringing in his voice.
"Alright. Enough about bananas, Jack. Breakfast is served." Rose says as she places a platter or normal looking scrambled eggs on the table. "Only your son would get excited about bananas, Doctor."
The family begins to tuck into their breakfast as they talk about their plans for the day. It is agreed that once breakfast is done and the dishes are cleaned that they would go visit Sarah Jane in the hospital.
~DW~
Standing outside of Sarah Jane's hospital room, Rose looks around nervously. It isn't as if she was afraid of hospitals, but ever since New Earth and the cat nuns, Rose still hasn't shaken off the feeling of mistrust. Then there is the growing feeling, deep in her belly, that has been bugging her since they landed in the storage cupboard on the second floor, east wing. As each minute passes, the feeling builds to the point where Rose is wondering if it is nausea or something else.
Jack is sitting on one of the chairs that are in the hallway, outside of the door, humming a little song to himself. He is trying hard not to fidget, but even with his hands tucked under his thighs and legs kicking Jack can't shake the feeling that something is wrong. Ever since they landed, Jack has been feeling as if things are not what they appear to be. Like if something is hiding in the shadows and yet hidden in plain sight. He tries to focus on what it could be that he scrunches his face in concentration.
Jenny, who is sitting next to Jack, has been staring at the far wall with a blank look on her face. Unlike Jack, Jenny hasn't noticed anything off when they landed. Her thoughts have been focused on the newest person aboard the Tardis. With Luke's arrival, Jenny has found herself paying more attention to what she is wearing or her body movements. Never before has she worried about things like this and this has Jenny worried.
Glancing over towards her two children, Rose feels a bubbling sensation in her belly and this causes her to rush off down the hall towards the bathroom.
Inside the room, the Doctor watches as Luke whispers his hello and concerns to a sleeping Sarah Jane. Having already scanned Sarah Jane with his sonic screwdriver, the Doctor can't help but feel useless. Never before has he seen one of his companions, even a former one, in this kind of situation.
"Doctor?" asks Luke, with a sadness creeping into his voice. "Who do you think did this to my Mum?"
"I honestly don't know, but whoever they are, they will be punished." The Doctor's voice has an edge to it with his eyes having gone black as he says the last word. "We best be going Luke. The sooner we take a look at the house the faster I can find who did this."
Luke nods his head and leans over to whisper his goodbye to Sarah Jane. The Doctor and Luke leave Sarah Jane's room only to discover that Rose has left Jenny and Jack alone in the hallway.
"Where's your mum?" The Doctor asks, looking at Jack more than Jenny.
So I left this chapter with a cliffhanger. It felt much better cutting it off here during this rewrite.
Reviews are loved and cherished.
