Hey everyone. I have finally returned from my R&R vacation and will hopefully get this story finished. The story is not dead, I assure you. This chapter was just another road block for me, as I had no idea of what to put because I do not want the spotlight to be on Amy. She is a main character, but she isn't the only one. Everyone deserves a spot in the limelight, even if they aren't main characters, and it's fun to switch from one person's situation to another. The only problem with that is figuring out what situation they are in and how to make it interesting for the readers (all of you) and to make them want to find out what will happen next.
Obviously the horror genre has been played with in many different situations. And it is the author's job to figure out how to make a horror genre exciting and suspenseful without having too many typical cliches to where the reader already knows what will happen and what the characters will do. But you can't have a character, like Batman, be out of character when readers know how he acts towards situations and people. It is damn near difficult to figure out what I want Batman to do whenever it's his turn in the spotlight because I don't want to rush the story, I'm having too much fun with it, so it is very challenging for me to have a scene and script ready for him.
I really hope this chapter turned out as good as I wanted it to be. I guess with all the writing I was doing my mind decided that it wanted a break and needed to recuperate ^_^
Thank you everyone for staying by and waiting if you have been doing that. I am doing fine and am now living in Florida! So yeah, a big part of my break was also because of that. I plan on getting started on the next chapter of my Skyrim story as well so hopefully I'll have that chapter up soon enough. For any new readers following this story, feel free to ask questions, write comments, question my sanity(Lord knows I've been doing that since I've started this story XD lolz)
Oh, I almost forgot.
I have seen Sister Location, I've watched Markiplier play it since I enjoy watching his videos, and that changes everything. FNAF 4 characters are not in this story, there are glimpses of them but they are not fully in this story because I am saving them for another story that will tie in with this one. The only question is, should I have FNAF 4 put with Sister Location in the same story or put them in separate stories, because as I said their is going to be a series of stories that are all tied together with this being the first part. Obviously there will be more surprises to come and I will do my best to keep my stories unpredictable.
Lk: The animatronic that attacked Batman was indeed Phantom Mangle.
The reason Balloon Boy dropped the grapple gun is because he swiped Batman's utility belt(the little bastard) and swapped Amy's phone with the grapple gun. In the next chapter you will see why he 'gave' it to her.
I am saving Springtrap for something special, can't tell what it is (: which is why you have not seen much of him. I don't want him appearing just yet until the time is right.
Protocol 9 is another secret of mine. No, the nightmare animatronics will not be showing up in this story. They are being saved for another story.
I'm sorry but no the funtime animatronics will not show up in this one ): It kills me that I can't fully add them in, but they will be fully presence in another story. And I can only imagine if they would or would not help Amy and Batman considering that they can talk, I guess it would depend on the situation.
GalaxyPest: I assume Purple Guy is inside Springtrap...or rather his dead body is stuck inside and his soul controls the suit. In chapter 9 there is a brief moment when Purple Guy makes an appearance, but he is not inside Springtrap. Purple Guy in this chapter is based off the mini-game you play when he destroys the animatronics. And the reason I did that is because in one video I watched where he destroys an animatronic he moves towards it in a very creepy fashion and I wanted to put it in here. Maybe I'll have him make a surprise appearance again (:
Enjoy the show!
How much time had gone by since Robin contacted him? Twenty, thirty minutes? Or maybe an hour?
Robin said he had something important to tell him and so far, he was nowhere to be seen. Batman began to worry that something bad might have happened to Robin, although he did not want to think the boy had possibly been killed by whatever animatronics remained in the city. He could wait no longer as he leapt off the roof of a tall building he had been waiting on, gliding through the cold and dark sky in search of Robin.
"Oracle, I need you to find Robin's location." he spoke while gliding through the night.
"I've been trying to do that for the past 45 minutes! He was on his way to your location before he just disappeared. I've tried contacting him, but he didn't answer and I thought it was just a malfunction or he didn't want to answer." she replied, doing her best to stay calm and not sound too worried and nervous.
"Send me Robin's coordinates before he disappeared." Bruce replied, also feeling a tinge of worry for Robin.
In seconds Oracle sent the coordinates for Bruce to locate, the Dark Knight gliding towards Robin's last location as fast as he could. Upon reaching the location Batman glided towards the roof of a medium-sized building, immediately doing a thermal sweep to see if there was any indication that Robin was still in the area or if there happened to be enemies. A few large vents that sat on the roof steadily let out heat that became large clouds of thick fog, covering parts of the roof which made it difficult to see anything.
BBZZZZZTT! BBZZZZZTT!
The sudden vibrating sound caught Batman's attention quickly as he searched for the cause of the vibration. His search left him to find a small rectangular device laying just a couple feet from where he was standing. The screen of the device was bright and displayed the name Nick, along with a green and red phone symbol beneath the name. /Amy's phone. But how did it get here?/ The last time Bruce had checked for Amy's location was shortly after Robin had begun making his way back to him, noting that Amy had been heading opposite of Robin, so there would be no possible way for her to come after Robin unless she turned around. So far, the theory almost explained his sudden disappearance and why her phone was here.
Then again, Amy was in no shape to make her way onto the roof or possibly take out Robin, let alone even know that Robin had been watching her. None of it made sense as he picked up the buzzing phone, staring at it to decide on whether or not to answer it. /Maybe he will give me some answers./ He lightly tapped the green phone symbol before holding the phone close to his face.
"Amy I'm sorry I got mad at you earlier! I'm just trying to not stress the fuck out while you're over there!" Nick's voice spoke loudly, having a tone of regret and frustration mixed together.
"Where is Amy?" Batman asked, having no patience to waste any more time than he needed.
Nick was confused for a moment, his mind registering that the voice did not belong to Amy. "Who is this and where the fuck is Amy?" he asked, clearly upset that Amy had not answered the phone.
Unfortunately, Bruce was starting to become frustrated. "This is Batman, and Amy is not here." he explained. "I found her phone on a roof. Do you know where she is?"
"No, I don't know where she is! We had an argument and she hung up on my ass!" Nick replied. "How come you don't know where she's at? Were you not watching her?"
Instead of answering, Bruce simply ended the call, not really in the mood to play 20 questions at the moment. Every scenario he could think of ran through his head, none of which seemed possible as he stared at Amy's phone. Was Amy telling the truth about everything or was it all just a lie to cover up a large secret that he knew nothing about. He couldn't rule out the possibility that it wasn't true, but he couldn't jump to conclusions without proper evidence. If Amy is- was not who she claimed to be, then just how truly dangerous was she? A chilling thought of Amy being the mastermind behind the animatronics would be a nightmare, especially if she were working with Ra's and Hugo Strange.
Holding tightly onto the phone, Batman left the roof, gliding off back to Freeze to have him watch the phone in case Nick called again. Unfortunately, this meant their was no other way to track Amy's current location, leaving him blind in the dark. However, a glimpse of a familiar figure laying on the ground below caught his eye, causing him to glide down towards the figure. Bruce had to admit that it was a bit disturbing to see the lifeless body of Jervis Tetch lying in a pool of his own blood as he walked over to the corpse. Bruce was careful as he knelt down and turned the corpse onto its back, giving him a clear view of the two open wounds that were responsible for his death.
"No. Amy is the one responsible for this." he said with hatred. No one deserves a death like this, no matter who they are or what they've done.
Bruce grabbed Jervis' arm as he lifted the body, carrying his body away on his shoulder without another word. He didn't care about the blood that was being smeared on his suit; all that mattered at this point was having to do something that he went against. He never wanted to have to resort to this as an option, but how else would he save Jervis? Another question floated in his mind as he steadily made his way back to Freeze; would this idea even work? Batman had his doubts, but until then he would have to wait to find out.
Then again, if the Lazarus Pits kept Ra's immortal for this long maybe there was a chance he could use it to bring back Jervis.
But why bring back a dangerous criminal such as Jervis? Batman couldn't explain it no matter how much he tried. It was quite hard to explain why; perhaps he just felt sorry Jervis received a death he did not deserve. After this whole situation was settled, as well as finding Robin and Amy, he would deal with her later. There was a strong possibility that he would have to send her to Arkham for what she has done, even if she wasn't from this world as she previously claimed.
Just moments after Amy had entered the subway, several Penguin thugs that had been stationed inside the subway long before Batman defeated their boss had returned after wandering off to find any suitable entertainment, completely unaware that anything had happened while they were gone. So far, everything seemed normal for the most part as they returned to their posts, patrolling the area for any intruders that made their way here. Each thug was armed with a gun, so in case an unexpected guest decided to drop in they would be quickly disposed of.
Unfortunately, if the unexpected guest could not be killed, then that would cause a problem.
Everything was silent and calm for the most part, making the moment peaceful while it lasted.
CRUNCH
It was loud enough for one thug to hear, causing him to investigate the noise with caution as he aimed his gun, ready for anything. What he wasn't ready for was the sight of a body that had half its skull and a torn stomach with intestines strewn about. The skull almost looked to be bitten in half. The thug was now on alert, ready to shoot anything that moved as he backed away from the body, his eyes frantically searching all around him for any hidden intruders that might be around. He saw nothing as he continued to back away, wanting to run and warn the others but afraid to do so at the same time.
Once he finally had the courage to turn around he saw no one else, leaving himself out in the open for an attack. Where did the others go? Were they pulling a joke on him? If it was a joke then they succeeded because he was on the verge of having a panic attack. "Haha! V-Very funny guys! Joke's o-ov-over!" the man shouted, trying to sound unafraid which did not work.
There was no response, however. Only silence accompanied by the cold wind.
"Guys? Guys! I'm not playing anymore, come out!" he said, becoming worried and anxious.
Still no response was given.
It had grown eerily quiet as the thug slowly began to make his way back to his spot, thinking the others must have found something- someone and were taking care of the intruder. Upon reaching his spot, he gave a quick look around and was relieved to see at least two of the guys still alive and patrolling their assigned areas. He wanted to tell them about the body he found, but then it wouldn't really matter anyways in this place. It was kill or be killed. Everyone understood that and accepted it; and he had secretly hated the guy to the point of killing him. However, what was frightening was the rumors of giant robot animals that were wandering around the city, killing anyone that happened across them. But they were in the subway with only one way in and out, as far as they knew, and it seemed to be the safest place at the moment.
He hadn't seen any killer robots so far, so maybe it was all just a hoax? Yeah, of course. A harmless joke to keep everyone on their toes. It was almost laughable until his thoughts went back to the mutilated body he found. Surely there was some explanation for what happened to the body; such as what could have caused the gruesome bite. The only thing that could've caused the mutilation was Killer Croc, but then he was known to fully consume whatever prey he caught instead of leaving the body almost fully intact without eating it.
What else could be responsible?
A sudden noise to the right caught the thug's attention as he quickly looked in the direction of where it came from. He stood along the walkway that over looked the subway, giving him a vantage point that allowed him to see almost everything; from what he could see was a very tall and misshapen figure. It stood just a few inches near one of the pillars supporting the crosswalk above it, half of its body was concealed by the pillar while the other half was just barely visible enough to see. There was something very wrong with the figure as he continued to stare, noticing that it was missing half its right arm and had mechanical features that were very noticeable.
"What the hell.." he muttered, unsure if what he was seeing was real.
Unfortunately, the figure disappeared in the blink of an eye, leaving no trace that it was ever there. The thug stared at the spot the figure had been standing for a moment, trying to think of a rational explanation for what he just saw. "Nerves. It's just my nerves. Been out here too damn long with no sleep. Fucking rumors got me seeing things." he said to himself with certainty.
"Hey Ray! You seen Alex from up there? I can't find him!" a thug patrolling below shouted, already in search of the missing comrade.
Ray was nearly startled by the voice, his finger on the trigger and ready to shoot before he recognized the voice and calmed down enough to respond. "No, Jac. Last I saw him he was checking out one of the train cars." In truth, Ray had no idea if Alex was in there or not.
He silently watched as Jac went to check the train cars to hopefully find Alex, standing in his spot for a few seconds before making his way down the stairs to join Jac in the search. Not that he was scared of being alone of course. Once Ray was near the train cars he began to look inside them as well, hearing Jac check the train car next to him as he cautiously exited the train car. He breathed a sigh of relief when he saw Jac standing across from him, still searching for Alex with a look of frustration.
"I swear to God if he I find him sleeping again I'll kick his teeth in." Jac said as he walked around, becoming impatient as he searched. He caught a glimpse of Ray searching as well, although it was hard to see him with the robot figure that stood behind him.
Wait a minute...
"Ray look out!" Jac shouted, aiming his gun as he pulled the trigger.
"What, Jac?" Ray replied as he turned around, only to feel his blood run cold.
Standing taller than him was the figure he saw earlier, now being able to see how terrifying it was up close and personal. The figure was a robot fox that looked like it had been engulfed in flames and had a fight with a chainsaw. What terrified Ray the most was the large mouth full of teeth, most of them covered in fresh blood as well as the robot's left hand. The fox stared down at Ray with its one white eye, mouth agape as it readied itself to attack as Ray could not find the will to run.
However, the fox would lose its chance to attack.
Ray didn't notice at first until he felt a strange warmth coming from his chest. He looked down at himself to see five bullet wounds in his chest, blood slowly oozing out from the wounds. He wanted scream, run, do something, but couldn't find the strength or will to move. Before he could register the pain, several more bullets were planted in his face this time, causing him to fall back as he now laid dead on the ground with his blood pooling underneath his body.
The fox stared down at the now dead body for several seconds before turning its attention at Jac who stood a couple feet away, keeping his gun aimed at the fox as his hands shook from fear. "Ray! RAY! GET UP!" he shouted, unaware that Ray was dead and merely thought he fainted.
The bullets hit, so why wasn't this thing going down? Jac began to back up as the Fox fully turned around and began to move towards him. He immediately started shooting at the fox as it began to run, quickly closing the distance between them. Just before the Fox was within inches of Jac it disappeared, leaving Jac alone as he prepared to use the gun as a shield to protect him from the attacking fox. He was very confused at what had just happened, unable to come up with a logical explanation for what he saw or why it happened.
"What the fuck is going on!" he shouted, searching around him, expecting to see the fox appear somewhere else. "Ray, get your ass up!"
When he didn't receive a reply, Jac let out an irritated groan and ran over to Ray, looking down at him to notice that he was dead from being shot at. Jac stared at Ray's body, unable to comprehend that he had killed Ray. Did he just hallucinate the fox, leading him to accidentally kill Ray instead? He was known to keep his cool in tough situations and never once had a problem, but now here he was hallucinating robots and killing off his own team. Was he beginning to lose sense of reality?
Jac had no time to answer that question.
A sudden pain erupted from his chest as a metal hand shot out, thick torrents of blood squirting out like a fountain before the hand was forcefully pulled back. He could already taste blood in his mouth as he stood there before letting out a bloodcurdling scream, his scream becoming louder as something strong severed his left arm. Jac looked in time to see a large mouth with sharp bloodstained teeth tear his arm away above the elbow, leaving nothing but a clear view of a broken bone jutting out from where the rest of his arm used to be with jagged flesh hanging around it.
He took two steps forward before falling to his knees, panicking as he found it difficult to breathe. Heavy footsteps were heard from behind, his blood freely poured out from his chest and arm as it soaked his clothes and the concrete floor beneath him. He felt himself being harshly shoved to the floor as something heavy was steadily pushed down on his back. Jac was crying at this point, wishing this was just nothing but a bad nightmare, however, it was as real as the pain he felt. Why was this happening to him! Suddenly, the pressure on his back lifted, giving him a sliver of hope that he could crawl away and survive.
STOMP
A large metal foot to the skull ended whatever hope Jac had.
Flesh, blood, skull fragments and brain matter now coated the floor as the fox vanished once more, leaving behind a bloody carnage as its only trace of evidence.
