Chapter 11

Amanda just stood there with her mouth a gape. Kurt's mother was standing in front her in her living room in her house. And if what she said was true then she is carrying her grandchild and she didn't look old enough to be grandmother . Amanda was at a loss of what to do. Mystique took a step forward, her yellow eyes focused on the girl in front of her speifcally her stomach.

"Big shock I know. But as you can see the resemblance between us is uncanny." said Mystique

"I'm sorry I don't know what to say. I never thought we'd meet, Kurt doesn't talk about you." replied Amanda

"Not surprising I have done some...questionable things in my life. Things I'm not very proud of." Mystique said sadly

"I can only imagine why, but why are you here? And what do you want?" asked Amanda.

"To confirm your relationship with my son. What do you see in him? " she asked causing Amanda to sigh

"This question again. I when I look at him, I don't see a mutant I don't see a demon. I don't see any of that, he's just like us."

"Hmph, you almost sound like Charles Xavier. But you know he's mutant too" said Mystique.

"I know, people hate what they don't understand. They're not making the attempt to understand, they are scared but I'm not." Amanda replied

"You're not?"

"No, if I was I would be doing what those bigots are doing right now."

Mystique just stared into the girls eyes. They were full of defiance, Mystique never came across anyone with those eyes. Human or mutant, she was starting to see why her son was so smitten with her.

"Alright, now I need to know are you pregnant?"the shapeshifting mutant questioned causing the girls eyes to widen

"You..k-know ab..about that?" Amanda stammered unconsciously putting a hand on her stomach.

"You are aren't you?" said Mystique seeing the girl tremble but nod none the less

"Well I'll be. I'm going be a grandmother never thought I'd see the day." Mystique chuckled. 'Destiny probably didn't see this coming'

"Is that all? You just wanted know if I pregnant?"

"That, and if you'll help me." answered Mystique getting a confused look from the human girl.

"Help you? Help you with what?" she asked

"To help me to reconcile with my son and adopted daughter. Kurt and Rogue."Mystique said simply

Amanda just stood there in disbelief Kurt's mother was asking for her help. She quickly shook off whatever look on she had on her face and took a seat on her couch then motioned for her to take across from her. Then Mystique began her explaination on her life, starting with Kurt's birth. Adopting Rogue a few years afterwards. Joining with Magneto and his brotherhood of mutants. Then being betrayed by him, then her advancement with her powers, her deal with Mesmero then being double crossed by him and her being turned to stone then her "death" and "resurrection" as one of Apocalypse's four horsemen. And finally being released from the ancient mutant's control. She left out what Magneto's expermintation to Kurt as she didn't want to remember it.

"That's it. Those events made me realize what I fool I've been. The things I did, the things I should have done for the both of them. Because of my actions, they won't talk to me and I don't blame them" Mystique said eyes full of sadness and regret struggling to hold back her tears.

Amanda could only look at her in sympathy . She's always had a great sense of perception. She could tell this woman was truly remorseful and only wanted to make amends for her past and reconnect with her son and daughter.

"I'll try to help you. "said Amanda causing the mutant to perk up

"Y-you will?"

"Yes, I believe everyone deserves a second chance. I'll try and talk to Kurt and hopefully for the sake of our baby he'll give you a chance and let you back into his life. "Amanda stated getting a sigh of relief from the shapeshifting mutant.

"Thank you, I know I'm asking a lot but one chance is all I need. "said Mystique

More would have been said if the two didn't hear a car pull up. Signalling that Amanda's parents had came home.

"That's my parents, you'd better get going, they like everyone else aren't big fans of mutants." said Amanda

"Alright, but you just remember I'll be nearby if you need me." Mystique relpied

"How?"

"I'm a shapeshifter I can disguse myself as anything Human, animal or another mutant and one other thing Amanda My real name is Raven, Raven Darkholme . " She said turning into a cat and rushing out the kitchen though the doggy door.

"Well that was interesting." muttered Amanda as her parents walk through the door.

"Mom, dad." she greeted as they came through the door

( With the X men)

The X men Cyclops, Jean Ice Man, Nightcrawler and Shadow Kat along with an unexpected tag along Tabitha AKA Boom Boom, were on the X jet currently en route to the jungle in the amazon to find a new mutant Professor X found with Cerbero. A female mutant by the name of Feral , a feline humanoid woman.

"We're almost there guys remember we don't want to spook her just talk to her." Jean said next to Cyclops who was the pilot's seat

"How do you know she won't attack us at first glance? " asked Shadow Kat

Ve don't Ve just need to let her know we come in peace." answered Kurt looking out the window absent mindedly

"He's right ever since that whole business with Apocalypse . A lot of mutants have been on edge." Jean said

"No doubt about that, and recently a major anti mutant movements have sprung up. What were they called Tabitha? The Friends Of Humanity ." Ice man said

"Yeah those guys, a bunch no neck no good radicals. I would love to blow them sky high." Boom Boom replied snapping her fingers to emphasize her point

At that point Kurt was worried. If this group was as radical as Boom Boom claimed then Amanda and the baby would be in even greater danger if the set their sights on him.

"Get set team, we're about to land." said Cyclops seeing the jungle up ahead.

Cyclop began to decend the X jet into an open clearing of the jungle. After making a quiet landing, the X men disembarked Jet.

"We should have brought Dr McCoy with us he'd love it here." said Shadow Kat observing the large trees

"Jean do sense any sign of Feral anywhere?" asked Cyclops while Jean began searching the mutant out with her mind. She and pointed west

"She's at the river, and I don't think we're the only ones after her. Someone else is here but I don't know who." said Jean

"We'd better get moving then. "replied Cyclops said taking the lead with the others following suit sans Kurt who was leaping on from tree branch to tree branch. Little did they know they were being watched by a pair of red eyes.

"Oh no foolish X men, this one is mine." spoke a smooth metallic voice
