Chapter 12
"Okay, so if we find this mutant what are we gonna say to her?" asked Ice Man
"I don't know Bobby, we'll just have to try our best to convince her of our intentions." answered Jean walking along side Cyclops.
"Yeah, we need to do this cautiously, we don't want spook her. So no sudden moves, or use of powers. That goes double for you Boom Boom. No fireworks" said Cyclops
Boom Boom just scowled at the X men leader in irritation.
"Kurt! You see anything up there?" Shadow cat called looking up
"No not yet, not so much as a whisker if she has any." Night crawler replied from above the trees
Suddenly he some loud noises come from the west of the jungle.
"Stay sharp team, we don't know who or what else is out here." said Cyclops as he kept moving forward.
Suddenly loud footsteps could be heard approaching fast.
"Night crawler what can you see?!" Cyclops asks
"Something big and fast is headed our way." said Night-crawler
Sure enough, the sounds got louder and louder until they stopped. Then a large mutant red skinned mutant with large ram like horns, he had shoulder length white hair and a large white beard, he also wore thick armor made of some alloy. He snorted as he stared at the X men
"So you're Xavier's kids huh? This will be easier then the boss said it would be." the mutant chuckled
"Who does he mean?" asked Iceman
"Who are you?" asked Cyclops
"Call me Aries, and you all are ROADKILL!" he yelled as he charged forth
"Scatter!" ordered Cyclops
The X men got out of the way fast as the massive mutant charged forth, Scott fired his optic blasts at the mutant found the had little effect.
"Ha, that tickles." said Aries swatting the X men leader away
Boom Boom tried her hand by letting off some of her yellow spheres all around the horned mutant and they exploded but did nothing but amuse the mutant.
"Is this guy related to the Juggernaut?" Iceman asked firing a few ice blasts at Aries getting the same result.
"Get ready kiddies, I'm about to teach you the meaning of pain!" shouted Aries
Aries pounded the ground creating a series of small earthquakes, taking the X men off their feet sans who Kurt ported away to the trees waiting for an opening, and sure enough he jumped on Aries's head hitting him with everything he had.
"Get off me pest!" Aries tried swatting Kurt away only for the elf to port away back to his team
"We should have brought Colossus." Kitty said
"Or Logan" Jean added
"I have a plan team, Night crawler, get on top of him. Ice man Ice his armor." Cyclops ordered
"Right." Ice Man said firing off
"Jean help Night crawler keep him off balance,"
"And me?" Boom Boom asked
"We're going to make large bang." Cyclops replied his visor glowing red while Boom Boom grinned
Jean used her telekinesis to try and lift the big mutant up. While she had come quite a long way with her powers in recent years but she still had some difficulty lifting objects larger than her with her mind, It wasn't easy but Jean managed to get the big mutant off his feet while Kurt jumped off.
Cyclops looked to Boom Boom who nodded, the blonde mutant created her spheres and threw them at the horned mutant, while Cyclops used his optic blast to detonate them into Aries torso damaging the body armor causing him to stumble to the ground.
"I actually felt that." Aries said laying on the ground frozen armor torn up
"You might feel this one too, Shadow Cat now!"
Shadow Cat grabbed his tail and phased him deep into ground, Ice Man used his powers to trap him a miniature sized glacier ring.
"And that's how you do that." Ice Man quipped
The X men gathered around the massive mutant. Ice Man, Cyclops and Boom Boom were all poised to use their powers in case he broke out.
"Playtime's over horn head. Who's your boss?! And why are you out here?!" Cyclops demand poised to use his optic blast
"I'd rather be in a lock up then squeal on my boss, I like breathing." Aries spat
"Well there's more than one way to get information. Jean if you would please."
"Gladly" Jean said using her powers to peer into Aries mind
Jean before should peer further she and the X men suddenly felt dizzy and disoriented all of a sudden. Waves of energy began to warp and twist the forest area.
"Oh man I feel like I'm gonna puke."Boom Boom groaned
"Stop the ride I wanna get off." Ice Man groused falling to his knees
Just then a woman in her early 30's came out from behind a tree, she had long green hair and she was wearing a short light green colored dress with matching boots and gloves, sticking her hand out.
"I had them on the ropes Vertigo." Aries said breaking free
"Sure you did." she replied sarcastically dissipating the waves.
"Who the heck are you?" asked Boom Boom
"The name's Vertigo kiddies, I'm a next level mutant and you're about to find out why."

Amanda was pulling up to her family's driveway after coming home from the library, though that was the excuse she made to her parents. In truth she stopped by the mansion on the way back to see her boyfriend and for her check up, only to find out he was away on a mission and wouldn't be back for a day or two.
' I hope he'll come back safely. I want our child to have a father." thought Amanda stepping out the car
She went to her door to find it was cracked open. Pushing the door open she found her living room a complete mess. Like someone had broken in; but hadn't taken anything.
"Mom! Dad!" Amanda called going in
She ran upstairs to their bedroom and found no trace of them. Just then her phone rang, picking it up she answered.
"Hello" Amanda said
("Hello Ms Sefton I am a Representative of the FOH aka the Friends Of Humanity. In case you're wondering yes we have your parents.") said deep menacing voice
"I've heard of you bigots. What do you want ransom? My family is not rich." she replied
"(We don't want money what we want is the X men known as Night-crawler your parents say you knew him.")
"I-I broke up with him a long time ago. I don't know where he is." she said lying about that last part
"(Well that's well and good, Humans and Mutants can't coexist but we want you to contact him regardless. Or you'll never seen your parents again")
Amanda gulped not saying a word continuing to listen
("We'll be watching your house very carefully Ms Sefton. It would be unwise to involve the police in this matter.")
"Are they alright?"
"(They're fine for now, how long they remain that way is up to you. Find the mutant and wait for our call.")
Amanda was about to reply until the line disconnected. She sat on the bed hands on her face totally distraught. Amanda took a deep breath.
"I can't go to the police and Kurt and his friends are away. But theres that other mutant group the brotherhood maybe I can go to them." Amanda said standing up.

End Notes: I wouldn't be surprised if anybody hasn't heard of the mutant Aries, He was never used in the cartoons and used only once or twice in the comics. He's like another Juggernaut with horns. Mystique and the Brotherhood ..well one of them anyway will have their time to shine. I'll leave you to guess who. Next chapter Feral and Mr Sinister makes their appearance and Amanda goes off to save her parents . R&R and leave suggestions please.
