Hey everyone! As always, I own nothing.

The wind whistled through the was gathered in the cemetery for Thalia's funeral. Annabeth could hear the whispers of the towns people.

"I heard she was attacked by an animal"

"Oh my…that poor girl."

Annabeth couldn't stop the tears from falling. If they'd only knew the truth. It was an animal that killed her, but not the image that their minds had created. As they begin to lower Thalia's casket into the ground, Annabeth starts to make her way toward the front. The rose in her hand beginning to grow heavier with every step.

"I'm going to miss you," Annabeth whispered. The rose slips from her fingers into Thalia's grave. Annabeth's heart shatters with the faint sound of the rose hitting the casket.

Annabeth wasn't sure how much time had gone past. Days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months. Every day a blur. She hadn't seen Percy in that time. "Good, if he was smart, he would have left the country." Annabeth looked to where his day light ring lay hidden.

"I hope you burn."

"Annabeth," my mother calls, "it's time for school!"

"Coming."

Annabeth grabs her jacket from the chair and proceeded down the stairs.

Percy P.O.V.

1797

The rain pelted the side of the house, wind howling with the force of a hurricane. The earth filled with a complete and utter sadness that humans all too well know. The death of a loved one is a heart shattering experience. For Percy it was the end of all that was good.

"Mom…please don't leave me," Percy pleaded. " You can't leave me, you mean everything to me."

His mother lay upon her death bed, each breath she takes growing shallower. Her once vibrant face fading. The laughter that had once filled the house seemed like a distant memory. Her skin now cold and the life slowly fading from her. Percy began to stroke his mothers hair, soft sobs started to wrack his body.

"I love you so much," Percy whispered.

The doctor rests his hand upon Percy's shoulder."I'm so sorry son. The plague has no mercy."

Soon his mother's breaths cease all together, along with his humanity.

As days bled into years (Any guesses?), Rachel and I tore through many villages. Not caring who or what we devoured along the way. This time we were in the small village of Albion. The lights dancing as the villagers celebrated another year of good crops.

"This shall be fun! Won't it darling?" Rachel gave me a wicked smile.

"You're with me aren't you love?" Percy replied.

Percy soon caught the sent of a human. One of the villagers daughters had begun making her way to a barn, which sat a ways away from the party. If only she knew just how big of a mistake she had made.

Soft whistling rose from the barn as the young women went about feeding the animals. It was an old tune one that Percy recognized. His mother used to sing that same song to him many years ago. Rage filled Percy at the memory of his mother came flooding to his mind. The young women was beautiful, with olive skin and dark brown hair. Her eyes were a chocolate brown, so innocent unaware of the horror she would soon witness.

The young women had just finished putting the feed away when she heard a noise from behind her. She turned around coming face to face with Percy's green eyes. The young women gave a shout of fright.

"My goodness sir, you startled me." The young women said, putting a hand over her heart.

"Forgive me miss…It was no intention of mine to scare such a beautiful women as you." Percy gave a smile to the young maiden. He could instantly see her guard begin to go down. These young maidens were always so foolish.

"Is there anything I could help you with?

Percy took a step closer to the beautiful girl. He looked right into her eyes and that was when the reality dawned on the poor maiden. The fear was lost in Percy's cold dead eyes. Rachel came out from where she was waiting.

"Why yes there is something." Rachel replied. Percy sank his fangs into the young women. Her screams were lost in the night.

Percy waited outside of Annabeth's house, night already upon them. He had had enough of Annabeth's game with his daylight ring. This was the night he was going to get it back. In a blink of an eye he was in her room. He observed her room. It was unlike any teenage girl's room he had ever seen. Instead of a One Direction poster on the wall, there a poster of the goddess Athena.

Percy's eyes went over to her bed. She was sleeping peacefully on her side, her breathing even. Percy could hear the steady beat of her heart. It felt like an eternity since he had seen her, he had forgotten how beautiful she truly was.

Percy began looking for his daylight ring, but with to no avail, he could not find it

.

"She's a smart one that girl." Percy smiled to himself. Time to wake the sleeping beauty. He gently laid next to his prey. He began to run his fingers along her face, noting how soft her features were with sleep. Soon enough her grey eyes opened. Percy expected to see rage in those grey orbs, but instead a terrible sadness shone from them.

"Why…why did you do it?," she asks her voice small, as if she were a child. In that moment, a glimpse of the old Percy tried to make its way through. In that moment, he wanted to comfort her. However, that moment was over as quickly as it had come. This is who he is, that old Percy is dead.

Percy gently began to stroke her cheek. "Because you, Annabeth Chase, are mine and she was in my way."
