CHRISTMAS UPDATE, ANYONE?

Chapter 6 - Challenge? Bring it on!

Morning came and the sun rose. Everyone gathered at the hall after practically being dragged down by their senseis or managers. Others weren't really morning persons at all.

At the dining table, everyone was interacting with each other. Almost as if they forgot that they were enemies. Almost.

If you could see and hear what they're doing you could definitely say; calling breakfast was a riot is an understatement.

On the right side of the table we've got Natsuki and Mitzi fighting over bacon; Tenshi scolding Ichigo to stop reading manga while in front of the food, even getting Masato to convince the otaku; A trio consisting of Ittoki, Tokiya and Cecil talking like they were long-lost brothers or something; And Lovely, Sanjo and Ryuuya discussing about business matters, though not that serious as A-Rise's director can still release moe.

Seated on the left side is a weird trio of Nanami, Ringo and Tomochika talking like sisters except their topic was girl stuff; Syo and Seika in a heated argument which started from pancakes and waffles and ended up going to petty, insignificant things; And don't even get me started on the little scene Ren and Yuki was making...

Ren was asking a lot of questions, and 'idiotic' ones might I add, to Yuki which just gave her more reasons to loathe him. "Would you like some pancakes, my Lady?" Ren asked with an aura of a true playboy, confident that he'll make her blush.

Yuki ignored him completely but there was a hint of annoyance in her face. The poor boy was shocked out of his mind, never before has he seen an expression like this to a girl he was hitting on. Clueless maybe, but never annoyed.

Nonetheless, he doesn't know the meaning of giving up. "Some waffles, perhaps?" He insisted, flashing his signature smile. Fed up with his moronic acts, Yuki decided to crush the idol's ego some more. She tilted a little bit to the opposite, where Seika was seated, and said, "Hey, Seika. Do you hear something?" Then returned to eating what's left on her plate. Perfectly aware that Seika at the moment was preoccupied.

Ren was staring in disbelief. The nerve of that girl to blatantly ignore an heir of the most influential financial business plus idol!

While Ren is still thinking of ways to woo Yuki, the noise slowly died down and voices turned into murmurs. Sanjo-san thought it would be the right time to announce the schedule for today. Ryuuya also knew this and tried to catch the attention of everyone by banging his hand at the table very loudly. "Listen up!"

Sanjo-san gave a curt nod and a gentle smile to Ryuuya. She then said, "All of you will be designated at the music room and will not be dismissed until said so. Your task will be: to showcase your talents to each other and to get to know each other a little better."

Some were ecstatic and others were choking on their food upon hearing 'get to know each other'. What's worse, it said 'better'.

"Once you're all done follow Ringo-sensei and Lovely-san to the music room," Ryuuya added.

Ringo and Lovely stood up and, one by one, so did the idols. All are very curious of the mysterious yet-to-be-known music room. The girls followed suite but the boys were goofing around in the back like a bunch of idiots. It somehow has an elementary field trip feel to it. Lovely, who was the one leading the lot, stopped in front of a two-door entrance. The door was white with elegant silver designs, mainly of music notes, scattered on it and the doorknob was made of copper. Everybody guessed that they've arrived at their destination since 'Music Room' was written just above the door in gold, cursive lettering.

Ringo opened the door and everyone can't help but gasp. No one had seen a music room this spacious and this luxurious.

There is a grand piano in the middle of the room with different instruments, that some of them know how to play, surrounding it on silver instrument racks. There were grand glass windows about four feet high, the border line encased with gold that had intricate carvings sketched on them. Pink velvet curtains draped over the glass windows. The carpet was pastel pink and bright yellow.

A chandelier filled with grandeur, imported especially from Great Britain, was located at the top of the piano. Velvet sofas placed at one corner of the room; there was even a refreshment corner at the other side complete with a refrigerator, a vendo machine, and classy glasses and tea cups that seem to be from Europe. Placed also to liven up the already alive room were ornamental flowers and some kind of Greek pillars to support vases probably worth eight million yen.

At the back of the room, there was an entrance to a balcony overlooking the ocean past the lush green trees of the forest.

They all walked in inside and once they were all settled, Lovely nudged Ringo, while giggling, to speak up.

"Ne, this is where you'll work today! Isn't it amazing?" Ringo said brightly, words dripping with excitement.

Both headed towards the door surreptitiously but failed miserably. Seika asked irritably "You're leaving us!?"

Ringo defended, "Not exactly!.. Uhh.. Tomo-chan's here!" He said this brilliantly like it only came to him a few seconds ago.

Lovely smiled. "That's our... Ai~" She stated, sending hearts and sparkles in the room. "May you have ai as you perform ai for each other. This will distribute ai to the two ai-full agencies. And of course, to you ai-lacking folks. Kudos! Ai~"

Lunar was staring at her as if she had three heads. Seriously, this time she'd gone way too overboard with her "ai"-quotes.

With this thought running inside their minds, a slam from the door was the sound they heard that snapped them out of their trance.

"Damn.." Seika mumbled under her breath though that was still the most superficial. You should've seen Yuki mouthing different profanities at the corner.

It took a while before it registered to their minds that they're not coming back nor will they let them out even if they plead. So, they're gonna have to talk to each other one way or another.

"C-can we start this, n-now?" Haruka stuttered, a little scared to take initiative.

"Okay!" Ittoki, Natsuki and Cecil said all at the same time. Taking their places at the middle if the room like getting ready for a performance.

Then, the rest also took their places. Nanami walked towards the piano and sat down.

Tokiya addressed Lunar to the side and asked, "If it's alright with you, we would like to show you our talents first." Sending a smile to everyone.

Mitzi nodded furiously, currently at loss with words. The same can be said to Tenshi and Ichigo but Ichi was always a girl with few words.

Nanami was all set and ready to play but before her delicate fingers could even touch one note, the door was slammed open. The cause of this interruption was a guy with reddish-orange/ tangerine hair and bright yellow eyes.

Starish became alarmed of his presence.

"You! .. It's you again!" Syo exclaimed, jabbering a finger at the man.
"What are you doing here?" Ittoki questioned.
"Who are you anyway?" Tokiya asked.
"How come you're here?" Masato queried.
"Why are you here?" Cecil enquired.

All of them were protecting Haruka from that man, they didn't want him to come close to her nor lay a single finger. Thus, Starish became a human barricade for Haruka.

The guy rolled his eyes, put his hands on his pocket and continued to walk nonchalantly inside with the boys eyeing his every move.

He stood beside Lunar and Tenshi just felt the need to announce, "This is our composer, Hayate." She felt it was rude to not introduce him to them. But she decided to not state his last name.

Jaws dropped and eyes widened. The boys, including Nanami and Tomochika, were standing there, dumbfounded. They never would have thought that the rude boy from the meeting could possibly be a composer. Lunar Fantasia's composer to boot!

Yuki put an elbow on Hayate's shoulder and a hand on her hip together with a smirk plastered on her face as if she was posing on a magazine cover.

"We don't want to see you perform by yourselves," Yuki said, making a super sweet smile whilst batting her eyelashes. She had to will herself not to break and begin puking, hoping someone would get her, immediately.

Seika was catching up and emitted a mishievous aura. She challenged, "I say, we duel."

Although they were big fans of Starish, Tenshi and Mitzi agreed to this plan. Plus, Ichigo remarked that this would be 'interesting', whatever that meant.

Hayate slowly walked towards the keyboard, since there's only one grand piano—which also means that he's okay with one of Yuki and Seika's hare-brained ideas.

Lunar and Starish shared the dance floor, half and half, and placed themselves like they would in a concert. As for Tomochika, she's got the best seats in the house, drinking tea while waiting for them to start.

"Think you can handle to lose?" Seika questioned, arrogance clearly invading her.
"In your dreams, Shijuuro. You never did lose to me." Syo replied.
"Well, today there's a 50% chance of us winning." Ichigo informed.
"Fifty goes to us. Hmm.. Yep, it's in the bag." Ittoki said, not really trying to offend but more of teasing Ichi-chan.
"'Don't speak like you're drawing ahead a conclusion.'" Tenshi quoted from her mentor in becoming lady-like.
"What does it mean?" Natsuki asked, having one of his blonde moments.
"It means: Don't speak finished." Yuki answered, rolling her eyes.
"Or you'll regret it." Tokiya added, learning from experience.
"Are we going to start this or not?" Ren whined impatiently.

Masato glanced at Haruka and she gave a thumbs up. Mitzi did the same, looking at Hayate with much enthusiasm but Hayate just nodded.

They were about to start when another interruption was made; "But how will Hayate-kun know Nanami-san's song?"

It was kind of funny actually. Hayate's last name is also Nanami but they didn't know that. It became some kind of inside joke for Lunar.

"Ooohh! That wouldn't be a problem at all! I listen to all of your songs and Hayate-kun only needs to hear it once." Mitzi exclaimed proudly. After realizing what she just said, she went red all over.

"Go on, then!" Tomochika shouted from her seat with matching claps. A smile forming her lips.

Haruka was staring and just after 5 notes, everyone knew the song. It was Starish's second debut song with Aijima Cecil; Maji Love 2000%.

Starish sung the song as is, also in Haruka's playing, but Lunar made some modifications. There were extra notes chipped in by Hayate and lyrics were changed by the girls.

Although it was changed, everything fell into place, perfectly. It's like the song never got changed or like, it was always meant to be that way.

Kind of makes you curious, right? These were some of the changes Lunar Fantasia did to the song:

Author Yuki: That's just about it for chapter 6! Sorry if it wasn't that good :/ .. But it's the holiday season though! Good news for us! :D

So, who do yah think won? :)

Oh and one more thing! We have an announcement for all our readers and otakus! But I'll give the honors to Seika for that one. ;) Seika, if you may?

Author Seika: So.. um yeah! Please don't throw flower pots at us! *begs for mercy* Anyways… The special announcement thingy is sort-of a contest. First three to answer ( and get it right) will get shout outs, I guess? Maybe something special as well (since it's the holidays and all). The Music Room mentioned in this chapter is actually based on a music room in another anime. Name that certain anime in your reviews!
