Chapter 15

Dimitri POV

I'm coming for you Rose. Hang in there for me. I thought quickly. As we headed into the maze to find Rose, Eddie bumped my shoulder.

"She is going to be okay. Rose has always been tough." Jesse says. "Even when Ralf, Mia, and I were giving her hell at school, she worried about Lissa, not herself. When you disappeared, she took off. All she said was that she had to set you free. She had to save your soul."

I remember how she had looked when I saw her in Russia. The look on her face, pure determination. When I was stalking her she only cared about saving me, and keeping Lissa safe. Not once did she worry about herself. Not until she was sure that Lissa and the others were safe.

"Rose is a very remarkable young woman. She praised you." Eddie said. "When you told her that you didn't love her anymore, she was devastated. Then when she showed up in here, the look on her face when you were taken, and after she got stung. It's scary when she makes up her mind to do something."

When I thought back to the way she acted in the house in Spokane I was the only one that she responded to. She had even growled at her mother to say back. No body recognized her, even Alberta.

As we waited for someone to come back and let us know what section she was in I sat down and contemplated everything. All the things I had watched her go through with Lissa and every time she put Lissa's needs first. According to everyone the day she turned 18 she told Lissa that for once she needed to come first.

The weeks between the attack on the school and when she found me in Russia. The last time I had visited her before she had attacked me to escape. She had gone into a trance as soon as she thought I was gone.

"WE FOUND HER! SECTION 7! GO NOW!" Ben said. "Go alert the others."

As soon as we were told Eddie, Jesse, and I took off. With the extensive training that Eddie and I did daily we arrived first.

"Damn, Dimitri, we should have made you guys runners." Minho said. "She wrote this on the wall. Does it make any sense to you?" he pointed at the wall near where she was laying.

'Third turn, far side, door. Semi-truck bay.' I shake my head.

Just as we were exiting the maze, Rose woke up and began to panic.

"NO! I have to find the door! She can't protect herself! I NEED TO GET TO HER! NOW!" she started clawing at everyone.

"ROSE!" I said, she didn't even respond to me. She fought her way free and took off again.

"ROSE! COME BACK!" Both Eddie and Jesse yelled.

"We need to follow her. She found something and only she can break that code written on the wall." Eddie says quickly. "It's the only way to figure out what she was onto before she collapsed. Rose knows what she is doing, we just have to trust her."

Taking off after her, I realized that she was headed back to Section 7. After letting the others know, I followed her as closely as I could. When I caught up to her in section 7 she was looking for something on the wall. She read it and took off again.

I finally caught up to her in front of a giant door. She seemed to be debating something internally. Something seemed to have finally clicked and she collapsed just as I got to her. I caught her just before she hit the ground.

Eddie and Jesse showed up next.

"She is exhausted, and needs to rest. We are going to stay here and let her explain when she wakes up." I say to them. "Gather everyone up here, we need to figure out what she has uncovered."

"Woah, I've never seen this before." Minho says coming to a stop. "I've run this maze every day for the past two years. This has never shown up. How did she know it was here?" he asks before realizing that she is passed out in my lap.

Minho POV

Holy Shanks, she is incredible. Rose solved the maze in the matter of being in the maze a handful of times. Dimitri looked different while holding her. When she had gone ridged on me, and told me to take her to Dimitri, I got worried about her. The way she suddenly growled at everyone to move. Her face as she stalked over to the gate faster than I've ever seen her move.

Just as Dimitri got to her and the doors started to close she darted into the maze. Watching him last night was hard. He was so worried about her that he couldn't stand still. Eddie and the Greenie stayed with him the entire time.

"Is she okay?" I asked him.

"Yes, she's just sleep deprived and exhausted." He responded. "We just need to wait for her to wake up. Knowing her and the way she works, she has already killed all the Grievers so there is no threat for us to stay out here for the night."

I was about to answer when she stirred and mumbled something.

"The code."

Looking at Dimitri he looked just as confused as the rest of us.

Before anyone could say anything, she jerks awake and sits up.

"What order do the sections open?"
