Rose laid passed out on Dimitri's lap. When she finally stirred, she mumbled something that no one caught. Finally, she jerked into a sitting position.

"The code. What order do the section open up?"

Chapter 16

Rose POV

"The order, Minho. What is it?" I ask fervently.

Someone's arms tighten around my waist as I move to sit up. Brushing it off quickly, I stood up. Walking over to the door, I located the keypad.

"Minho. Oder. Sections. Please." I growl. "We don't have time to waste."

"Uh, 7-1-5-2-6-4-8-3" he says quickly.

I punch it in and the door opens. Without missing a beat, I dart into the doorway not waiting for the others. It takes me a while to find the door, but I finally find it.

"Rose! Wait! Think this through." Eddie shouts.

"The only thing that matters right now, is Lissa. They put her in the other maze, and they are going to pay for it, Rose Hathaway style." I growl back. "She isn't safe. I am not there to protect her!"

Eddie stops, "wait, they put her in a maze? When?"

"How many days ago did Jesse come into the maze?"

"Three, why?"

"She was sent in two hours after Jesse came up in the box." I say quickly. "Her fear and confusion overwhelmed me. After I blocked most of it out, I slowly fed off of it to keep me going when I came into the maze. Eventually it wore off and I passed out. How long did it take to find me?"

"Five hours after the gates opened back up" Dimitri responded. "Two hours after we found you, we were almost out of the maze when you woke up screaming and clawing at everyone. I told them to let you go then followed you closely till you were at the door. You just stood there and then collapsed. You scared the living shuck out of me when that happened."

He looked like he was about to cry when he talked about it. Nodding I stroke his arm.

"I'm sorry. The only person I could think of was Lissa. I wasn't even thinking about myself or the effects of taking Lissa's darkness and fear." I say. "Look, we sand around and catch up on sob stories or we can go storm the place that they are hiding in."

"Let's do this. For Lissa."

I look straight at Eddie as the next words fly out of my mouth. "And Mason."

Not waiting for a response from him, I turn around and kick the door in. All the heads in the room turn to me.

"Where. Is. Vasilissa. Dragomir?" I grind out.

"If you value your lives you will tell her before she beats all you guys to a pulp. You have seen what she can do in 15 minutes to a trained fighter. Imagine what she can do to all of you. TELL HER NOW!" Jesse says.

They all scramble to get out of the way as I stalk toward the boss- b****. Just before I got to her, my mother and the Mob Boss stop me.

"This was a test, Rose. They needed to see what lengths you would go to in order to protect Lissa. All the things you have done since you thought that she was in trouble." My mother states.

"Look, you can either move yourselves or ill move you out of my way. That woman did this to all of us. Not you, no you were safe here watching! I saw you through Lissa, you didn't even try to get me, Eddie, Jesse, Minho, Newt, Adrian or anyone else out of there. No, you sat there and watched as we Banned Newt and Adrian to the maze!" I shout at all of them.

"Rose-" my dad started to say before I cut him off.

"Don't. I have had enough of you guys trying to justify what you are doing as something for 'the greater good.' I am tired of it. IT. STOPS. NOW!" I shout the last part.

"She's right, this all has to stop. We are not your test subjects." Eddie said.

Just as I was about to open my mouth to respond, I got sucked into Lissa.

She was surrounded by everyone in the other maze. Mason was there, so was Meredith, Mia, and Ralf. The confusion of not knowing what was going on threatened to take over again.

"Lissa?" Mason asked unsure.

She nods.

"What are you doing here? Where is Rose?" Mia asked half-heartedly. Almost gleeful that I wasn't there.

The want to slap that smirk off her face almost yanked me back, but there was something keeping me there. Her need to know what was going on.

"Come on Lissa, I'll make sure nothing happens to you the remainder of the time that we are in here." Mason says.

He holds out his had to her to help her up. She swayed slightly on her feet, Mason caught it. Quickly catching her before she could fall, he carried her to the main building in their maze. He sat her on the bed and studied her for a second.

"You need to feed. How long has it been?"

"No, I'm fine. I just need sleep." She says shaking her head.

Before she can say anything else he kneels in front of her and bares his neck.

"Do it, Lissa. Rose would kill me if I didn't take care of you." He barely had the words out of his mouth when she sank her teeth into his neck. Only taking a few pulls, she pulled away.

"Thank you, Mason." She says wiping her mouth with the back of her hand.

She stood up and helped mason onto the bed. He laid down and rested for a while. The effect of her bite was still in his system but it was wearing off. About half an hour later he walked out of the building good as new.

It was almost night and everyone was getting ready to settle down for the night. Lissa made sure that Mason drank plenty of water and got food into his system. By the time it was time to go to bed, he was fully recovered and Lissa relaxed a little bit.

Mason and Meredith made sure that Mia, Ralf, Lissa were settled in the most secure room of the building. Just as everyone was relaxed and drifting off, they were attacked.

Unlike our maze these were Strigoi. And they were after Lissa. By the time Lissa was aware of them being there, it was too late.

She got a good look at them before one of them knocked her our and effectively pushing me out of her head.

I woke up with a start.

"LISSA!" I started to fight everyone trying to hold me down. "NO! YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND I HAVE TO GET TO HER NOW! SHE IS IN DANGER AND IM THE ONLY ONE THAT CAN FIND AND SAVE HER!"

Everyone was trying to reason with me, but it wasn't working. Lissa needed me. She had used magic too much before she went into the maze and was still harboring. Focusing on her darkness, I felt it flow into me. They must have sensed the difference in me, because they let me go.

"What door leads to her maze?" I ground out.

"That one over there" my mom pointed to the door opposite the one we had come out of.

"Don't try to save me. Save them. They come first." I reminded the others. The humans looked confused, I didn't have time to explain it right now.

Rushing the door and forcing it open, I took off into the maze. I knew there were others following me, but I couldn't think of anyone other than Lissa right now. Her fear screamed through me. I knew exactly where they were within seconds. They were in Section 4. On the other side of the maze. Thinking quickly, I ran to the closest door.

I paused for a second calculating what door would bring me the closest to the section that the Strigoi were hiding in. It would be the door to my left. Mia and Ralf must have seen me because they rushed over.

"Rose, you have to save her! I know I pick on you guys all the time, but that's because I was jealous." Mia says, worry and regret were clear in her voice.

"That's what I'm doing. Then we are getting you guys out of here." I respond.

With that I take off to the door on my left and make quick work of running the inner section of the maze. My calculations were correct and I came out right in front of Section 4. Glancing quickly at the weapons belt that I still had on, I saw that I had a stake. Thank God.

I'm coming Lissa. I will save you, even if I die in the process.

The others gather on either side of me. Without missing a beat, we start walking head first into danger with me in the middle. I felt like some badass vigilante leader.

No matter the cost, Liss, you will come out alive.

We found their 'nest' rather quickly. Pulling out a throwing knife and my stake I got ready to fight the bastards that took Lissa. I am her avenging angel.

Nothing will stop me from protecting her. I saw a quick glimpse of what I looked like from Lissa's point and I smiled, I looked devastatingly dangerous.

Turning my attention to the one holding her, I launched into battle mode.
