Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter nor Devil May Cry

A/N: Yes, I know short chapter but I was feeling guilty about not updating in awhile so a short better is better than no chapter I suppose.

Not Even the First Day

The day just went on, dragged on in such a slow snail like pace, Nero has just about had it. Only that (small) childish curiosity has kept him at bay from flipping all kinds of shit, and even then he's not sure how long that will last. Everything was going fine after the attempted interrogation, nothing beyond what he deems ordinary in the crazy train ride.

No shit started going to hell in a hand basket after he got off the train, once again Ms. Wants-to-Know-Everything and Mr. Your-A-Vampire self-invited themselves into sharing his and Luna's ride to the (not better than Fortuna Castle but still just as amazing because he is not that petty) Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Of course the creepy horse looking things caught his attention like a kid discovering the weird side of the internet for the first (it's a compelling "must watch to the end" thing, even though what is seen can never be unseen). The throbbing in the back of his hand remains strangely absent, although logically speaking those things are clearly demonic in nature. It's completely befuddling.

"They are Threstals," Nero sits up; unknowingly he had tilted his head a fraction to the side. Luna had this look in her eye, it reminds him of Kyrie when she thinks of Credo nowadays.

It's at that point Ronald made himself, solemn in his expression. "Didn't figure you would be able to see them. 'Pose it shouldn't be surprising in these times."

"How many times do I have to tell you Ronald, there's nothing there! –"

"Come off it, you just want it to be nothing!"

"—because there is nothing there!"

"Oh please, you are so deep in –"

"Ron, that's enough you tactless arse!" And there it was, the slightest of a hitch in her voice that let Nero he has entered the danger zone, anyone within a three or more radius is subject verbal lashing. What puppy did he kill to deserve this?

"Lovely night, isn't it? Someone is missing this night…such lovely company that couldn't be here." Her eyes are wistfully looking at the empty spot next her. Nero had thought she had saved the spot for the red-haired chick they talked about earlier.

Wrong, it's wrong, wrong, wrong…deep down he can hear a nonexistent heart beat of someone who should be here. Who died?

"You are brave and have a big heart for those who deserve it, ambitious to some degree…Slytherin would welcome you to his house merely for your bloodline alone."

The hat whispers seductive in its tone. He is caught for a brief moment, seduced for a moment. However the mention of 'bloodline' breaks the spell, and he almost snarls wanting to tear off the cloth on his and rip it apart. This is his breaking point, he knows, but the image of a disappointed Kyrie stops him. Red hair and green eyes, he is too curious for his own good. And he remembers why he chose to come willing in the first place.

"Hmm, interesting I know just the place you. So conflicted, better be…HUFFLEPUFF!"

Review, please ^-^'

I will explain in more detail to you why I chose this house if you really want to know, other than I did leave a lot of clues in earlier chapters why Nero was placed in that house. I'm not lazy, just in a bit of a rush right. My apologies if this has more grammar and annoying typos than usual.
