Chapter 4- Breath of fear
"Come one we are going to be late for the recital", Heavenly said. "Don't worry we will make it on time", Phoebe assured, as she tried to get Sophia ready as fast as she could. The whole Halliwell family came for the recital. Heavenly was backstage waiting for her turn. "Next up a junior contemporary solo here's Heavenly with Sunshine", The recital announcer announced, as Heavenly walked on the stage. Heavenly danced with so amazing musicality and shown off her amazing technique as she nailed her turns. She was enjoying every moment on stage, when suddenly Heavenly froze. Heavenly stood there as and cried before she ran off the stage. "What happened?", Prue asked from her seat. "I'll be right back", Phoebe said as she made her way out of the hall. "It's alright sweetheart", Phoebe said, as she entered the dressing room where the kids there and a teacher was trying to comfort Heavenly. "It's alright baby", Phoebe comforted, as she took Heavenly in her arms. "I can't believe I forgot my solo I worked so hard", Heavenly sobbed. "It's alright mistakes happen and you still did great", Phoebe said. "No I didn't", Heavenly sobbed. "It's alright honey", Phoebe soothed. "No it's not'', Heavenly sobbed. "Heavenly you can do it again if you want we can try to squeeze in a space for you", The dance studio owner suggested, as she came into the dressing room. Heavenly just shook her head and continued to cry in Phoebe's arms. "Mistakes happens all the time there's no need to be ashamed... you still did an amazing job", Phoebe comforted. "That's right you did a great job", The studio owner added. Heavenly was so humiliated that she couldn't even make any eye contact. "Heavenly come on you have five more numbers you have to pull yourself together", Phoebe said. Heavenly nodded, as she tried to calm down, as she was given some water to drink. After the recital was over Heavenly insisted that they went home quickly because she still felt humiliated. As the Halliwells went home they all tried to cheer Heavenly up with no success, so Phoebe and Cole tucked her in bed, with the hope that she would feel better the next day. "What I don't understand is how she forgot that dance because she knew that dance", Paige said. "And the way she just suddenly stopped like she saw something that terrified her", Prue added. "She had the look of horror on her face... what did she see that terrified her so much?", Piper asked. "I don't know...but hopefully she is able to move on from this event", Cole said, as everyone nodded in agreement.
"Amira you naughty girl", A demon stated. "What did I do this time Jermaine?", Amira asked, with a smile. "I heard you attacked the child of a charmed one", Jermaine said. "I wouldn't say I attacked her I simply left my mark on her", Amira stated. "If the charmed ones find out you were behind this they won't hesitate to kill you". "All they think is Heavenly forgot her dance and ran off the stage that's normal with children her age", Amira stated. "They aren't stupid when your spell comes into full force they'll find out that it's demonic and it will be traced back to you", Jermaine. "By then it would be too late and spell would have destroyed that little brat... you all should be praising I am the only one that has figured a plan to destroy her". "Let's not get too ahead of ourselves here we have to wait and see if your fairy dust will work on her", Jermaine stated. "You can mock me all you want but it is still stands that I am the only one that is about to get her killed", Amira stated, as Jermaine rolled his eyes. "Well we would have to wait and see if you'll succeed with your plan". "Not only will I succeed but with my success I will be able to move up and finally be at the level I deserve", Amira said.
"Are you excited to go out with Andy?", Phoebe asked, she and Prue were in Prue's room as Prue got ready. "Yeah even though it's been a while...I was thinking maybe if I could take Heavenly along... she has been so upset and anxious lately", Prue said. "Yeah it's so strange I have done everything I can to lighten her mood with no success", Phoebe shared. "Maybe she needs to speak to a therapist", Prue reasoned. "I thought about that but a part of me feels that this is supernatural", Phoebe said. "Why do think that?", Prue asked. "She forgets her solo and now she has suddenly become anxious and insecure..something doesn't add up and I even spoke to her dance teacher and she explained to me that it's normal for children to be upset and embarrassed when they forget their solo...but Heavenly is acting like she's losing her mind", Phoebe explained. "Maybe it is due to her past abuse experiences", Prue reasoned. "No forgetting a solo doesn't connect with that and plus she was still able to finish the recital and she was alright yes she wanted to us to go home immediately but she was fine...but lately she has been acting strange", Phoebe shared. "I think you're maybe it is supernatural but don't worry we will get to the bottom of this but for now is it alright if I take her with me?", Prue asked. "Yeah I'm fine with it I think it will be good for her to leave the house for a while", Phoebe said. "alright let's go ask her", Prue said, as they made their to Heavenly's room. "Hey baby how are you doing?", Phoebe asked as she and Prue entered the room. "Good", Heavenly said. "How would you like to go out with Andy and I?", Prue asked. "Where?", Heavenly asked. "To dinner", Prue replied. "I don't know if I want to I don't feel so good", Heavenly said. "How are you feeling?", Phoebe asked, even though she could feel Heavenly's anxiety. "My stomach hurts.. and I feel a little scared", Heavenly said. "What's scaring you is there anything that's threatening you?", Phoebe asked. "No.. but I just don't feel safe", Heavenly said, as Phoebe took Heavenly in her arms. "It's alright baby you're safe no one will harm you", Phoebe soothed, as she rocked her back and forth, while Prue rubbed Heavenly's back. After a little while Heavenly was able to be calm down. "How are you feeling now?", Prue asked. "Better". "Would you like to come with Andy and I?", Prue asked. Heavenly shook her head. "That's alright just try to get some rest you are going to be alright... Phoebe I have to get going", Prue said. "Alright have a great date", Phoebe said. "Thank you bye", Prue said, as she kissed Heavenly on the forehead before exiting.
A couple weeks had passed and Heavenly would have random tantrums and episodes. "This has to be demonic", Paige commented. "Heavenly what happened that day you forgot your solo?", Phoebe asked, as tears fell down her eyes. Heavenly she just hugged her knees and continued to cry. "Heavenly a problem shared is a problem solved", Piper said. "I'm scared and I don't know why", Heavenly sobbed. "Ok what do you remember from that day?", Cole asked. "You don't have to be scared you're safe here and nothing is going to happen to you", Prue assured. "That day... everything was going well but then I saw something", Heavenly shared. "What did you see?", Paige asked. "It was horrible", Heavenly sobbed. "It's alright baby", Phoebe said, as she was about coming to hold Heavenly. "DON'T COME ANY CLOSER", Heavenly hollered. "Heavenly I won't hurt you", Phoebe said, as more tears fell down her eyes. "What's wrong with her hands", Paige took notice, as every saw Heavenly's hand were covered in icicles. "I think her powers are going haywire", Piper reasoned. "Try and calm down sweetie you're safe here", Cole assured. "STAND BACK... LEAVE ME ALONE", Heavenly screamed, as she suddenly got up and ran out of her room before anyone could react. "Oh My God", Phoebe exclaimed, as everyone ran after Heavenly. Heavenly ran downstairs as she screamed hysterically. "I HATE YOU LEAVE ME ALONE YOU'RE EVIL", Heavenly screamed. At this point all the sisters were in tears. "Just try to hold her before she hurts herself", Prue said to Cole. "Heavenly look at me it's alright you're safe", Cole said. "LEAVE ME ALONE YOU'RE EVIL", Heavenly screamed, as she was looking all around her as if she could see something everyone else weren't able to see. Phoebe just sobbed, as she didn't know what was wrong with her daughter. "MOMMY DADDY SAVE ME I'M SCARED PLEASE". Cole just managed to grab Heavenly, as she kicked and punched. "STOP LEAVE ME". "It's alright daddy's here you're alright", Cole said trying to keep his voice calm and soft. "Leave me alone", Heavenly said her voice was now a whisper. "It's ok baby you're safe in my arms you're alright", Cole soothed, as Heavenly became calm and allowed Cole to hold her. "Daddy what's going on? why is everyone crying? mommy what's going on?", Heavenly asked, as she could see everyone was in tears. "Don't you remember?", Prue asked. "Remember what? the last thing I remember was me in my room and I was scared but then I don't remember anything else", Heavenly said. "It's alright baby all that matters is your better now", Phoebe said, as she kissed her forehead.
"I must say you are doing a fine job with that little brat", Jermaine stated. "Thank you", Amira replied. "But how do you do it so effortlessly?", Jermaine asked. "It's all part of my magic", Amira stated. "I wish I could be like you", Jermaine praised. "You flatter me but don't worry you'll be great some day", Amira said. "Of course I will especially if I continue to hang around you", Jermaine said. "Be a doll and go get me about three lower level demons I have a task for them", Amira ordered. "At your service", Jermaine stated, before shimmering out.
"I have to say Heavenly is perfectly healthy", The child psychologist stated. "What about her episodes I told you about?", Phoebe asked, this was the third child psychologist they took Heavenly too and it was the same story. "Maybe she is just seeking attention it is not uncommon for children to act out when they feel invisible", The psychologist said. "Thank you for your time have a great day", Phoebe said. "You too", The psychologist replied, as Phoebe exited the room. "Heavenly what exactly is going on with you...you know you can talk to mommy", Phoebe said, as they entered the car. "I don't know...I just find myself feeling scared for no reason and I don't know what to do", Heavenly said, as she suddenly started to cry like she had been holding in. "Aww Heavenly don't cry", Phoebe said, as she came out of the car and went to the back seat to console Heavenly. "I wish this would be over mommy", Heavenly sobbed. "It's alright baby everything is going to be alright", Phoebe comforted, as Heavenly continued to cry. "I love you mommy", Heavenly said. "I love you too baby", Phoebe replied.
"Who do we know other than Barbas that controls fear?", Paige asked. The four sisters, Cole and Leo were in the attic trying to figure out how they could fix Heavenly, as all the children were asleep. "I don't know but this doesn't seem like Barbas", Cole said. "Yeah I agree Barbas can be sneaky with his attacks but it seems different", Leo stated. "Is there a way we could check if he is the one behind this?", Piper asked. "Yeah I wouldn't want to summon him if he isn't involved with this", Prue said. "I think I could go to the underworld and sneak around and maybe listen to some gossip", Cole suggested. "But would the information be credible?", Prue asked. "If a demon was able to mess with a child of a charmed one demons talk about it", Cole said. "Unless it's being done secretively", Phoebe reasoned. "Yeah true but take it from information always gets out", Cole said. "OK what's the plan?", Paige asked. "I can change my appearance and try to get information and hopefully I can meet this demon", Cole explained. "I think we should be ready for Barbas just in case it's him", Prue added, as everyone nodded in approval.
"Don't you know that I am the one that can take your pain away don't you trust me", A faceless woman said. "Leave me alone I don't want you to help me", Heavenly replied. "Heavenly don't be stupid this might be your only chance to get back to your old self", The woman insisted. "I don't even know you please leave me alone", Heavenly cried. "YOU UNGRATEFUL BRAT", The woman hollered, as she slapped Heavenly. "MOMMY", Heavenly cried as she given another big slap. "MOMMY", Heavenly cried out. Phoebe and Cole ran into Heavenly's room, as she continued to scream. "MOMMY". "Baby I'm here it's OK it was just a nightmare", Phoebe said, as she carried Heavenly in her arms. "She slapped me mommy", Heavenly sobbed. "Who slapped you baby?", Cole asked. Heavenly just started to scream as she jumped out of Phoebe's arms. "GO GET HER NOW", Phoebe hollered, as Cole shimmered after her. By this time the rest of the house were awaken by Heavenly's screams. Cole shimmered right in front of Heavenly, and before he could stop her Heavenly stabbed herself with a dagger that appeared in her hands. "HEAVENLY...SOMEONE HELP HEAVENLY STABBED HERSELF", Cole screamed. The sisters ran into the living room. "Heavenly Oh my God no LEO", Phoebe cried. "He is with the elders he isn't going to hear us", Piper informed. "We have to take her to the hospital", Phoebe said, as she carried Heavenly in her arms. "I'll go with Phoebe and Cole.. Paige Piper you stay with the babies", Prue stated before shimmering out with Phoebe, Cole, and Heavenly who was unconscious in her mother's arms. They instantly arrived at the hospital and Heavenly was rushed into the emergency room. "Heavenly baby mommy and daddy loves you please don't leave us", Phoebe sobbed, as Heavenly was being wheeled to the emergency room. Phoebe and Cole were told to wait outside. "Leo Heavenly is hurt please", Phoebe sobbed. Cole just held Phoebe in his arms as he tried to comfort her. "Code blue", A voice could be heard in Heavenly's room. "NOOO", Phoebe screamed as she ran inside the room followed by Cole. "ONE TWO THREE", The doctor called, as he used the defibrillator on Heavenly. After doing it a couple times Heavenly's heart began to beat again. "Nurse stay with her... can I please speak to the two of you outside?", The doctor asked. "Is my daughter alright?", Phoebe asked. "She's stable and the nurse will be with her", The doctor informed, as he led the couple outside of the room. "What happened to her?", The doctor asked. "It was an accident... I think she may have been playing with the knife when she hurt herself", Cole explained. "If you are going to keep weapons in your home you have to make sure it's kept away from children", The doctor advised. "Yeah I understand thank you doctor", Cole said. "No problem... here's the knife", The doctor said, as he handed it to Cole, and walked away. "I cannot wait to get my hands on the demon responsible for this", Phoebe stated.
"Leo", Piper called from the attic as he finally orbed down. "I'm so sorry I was in a big meeting.. what did I miss?", Leo asked, as he orbed into the attic. "A lot Heavenly had an episode and stabbed herself", Paige explained. "Oh my God is she alright?", Leo asked. "Yes she's fine but she is expected to stay at the hospital", Piper said. "Cole gave us this... this was the dagger that Heavenly stabbed herself with", Prue said, as she handed it to Leo. "Does it look familiar?", Paige asked. "Yes it belongs to an ancient demon of fear", Leo explained. "Wait there are other demons of fear?", Piper asked. "Yes but this particular demon preys on witch children... strange thing is I don't understand how she was able to get to Heavenly", Leo said. "She?", Prue asked. "Yes she her name is Demetria and if she was able to get to Heavenly then she has acquired more power", Leo explained. "Is there a vanquishing spell or potion for her?", Paige asked. "No Heavenly is the only one that can directly vanquish her", Leo said. "Why is that?", Piper asked. "Because Heavenly has to overcome the fear that's the only way she can be vanquished", Leo replied. "We have to inform them", Paige said. "Paige why don't you go and inform them while we figure out a way to hold this Demetria back until she can be vanquished", Prue said. Paige nodded in approval and immediately orbed out.
"What exactly is the plan?", Paige asked, as she and her sisters walked through the underworld. "I want to kill the bastard behind this", Phoebe stated. "I know but we don't even know what we are up against", Prue reasoned. "We have potions and a spell we will be fine", Phoebe said. "I know but we have to make sure we can find the right demon though", Piper said. "I know I have an idea", Phoebe said, as she brought out Heavenly's costume. "What are you going to do with Heavenly's solo costume?", Paige asked. "Well it was during her solo that this nightmare started so I enchanted the costume to take me to the demon that started this nightmare", Phoebe explained. "How does it work?", Prue asked. "like this get your potions ready... take me to the beginning", Phoebe said, as the costume began floating while the sisters followed along. After a while of walking and vanquishing some demons along the way the costume finally stopped and fell to the ground. "So what do we do because Leo said only Heavenly can vanquish Demetria", Piper reminded. "I say we make her angry and lure her to the manor or we try and vanquish her", Paige suggested. "What did I do to deserve a visit from the most powerful witches and their least powerful sister", Amira suddenly said. "Demetria I must say you didn't really age well", Phoebe said. "Oh you must be the mother aww did I hurt your baby", Amira taunted. Phoebe suddenly threw a potion making Amira to fly back. "You are going to pay for every pain you caused my child", Phoebe said, vengeance could be seen in her eyes. "Amira", Jermaine could be heard calling from a distance. "Amira?", Paige asked. "Quick Jermaine go and get some demons and get here quickly", Amira ordered, as the sisters all started to fight her. They fought until Jermaine shimmered in with three other demons to join the fight. Piper was able to easily blow up those demons, as the sisters continued to fight Jermaine and Amira who were stronger. They fought until Jermaine got vanquish with one of the potions, leaving Amira out numbered again. "I know you cannot defeat me only the child can", Amira said. "Shut up", Phoebe said, as she kicked Amira on the back of her neck, knocking her unconscious. "Now what?", Paige asked. "It's time for Heavenly to face her fears", Phoebe said, with tears in her eyes. "I know this is hard but Heavenly is going to get through this", Prue assured. "I hope so", Phoebe replied, as they carried Amira and orbed out.
In the manor Amira who was unconscious was put in a crystal cage, while the sisters, Cole and Leo brainstormed. "It's going to be alright we need to trust that Heavenly would overcome this", Cole said. "I know... I'll go get her... and someone needs to stay with the babies while this is happening", Phoebe stated. "I'll stay with them", Leo volunteered. "Thank you Leo", Phoebe said, as she exited the attic. "But why did the other demon call her Amira I thought her name was Demetria", Paige said. "Yeah Amira is also her name but Demetria was her known name", Leo informed. Then Phoebe walked in the attic with Heavenly who looked like she had been crying. "OK I'll be with the babies call if you need me", Leo stated. "Thanks again Leo", Cole said. "No problem", Leo replied, before orbing out. "Alright Heavenly are you ready?", Prue asked. "I don't know", Heavenly said. "I am the one that can take a way your pain.. don't you trust me", Amira suddenly said, startling everyone. "You we're the one in my dreams", Heavenly realized. "Yes dear I can take away your pain", Amira said. "Liar", Phoebe said. "You know that I am the only one that holds the power to save your child", Amira stated. "You don't even have the power to get out of the cage your in", Paige said. "Are you sure about that? Heavenly get me out here", Amira ordered, and to everyone's horror, with her telekinesis Heavenly moved one crystal out of the way freeing Amira. "Heavenly what are you doing?", Cole asked. "If you hurt her I will rip your head out of your body", Phoebe threatened. Amira laughed in response. "Demetria", Heavenly suddenly called, as everyone turned their attention to the nine year old. "I am the only one that can save you I hope you trust me", Amira said, almost robot like. "I am loved I don't need you", Heavenly stated, as fear filled Amira's eyes. "You lie you need me", Amira stammered. "I am loved and I will never need you", Heavenly said, even more boldly than before. "NO you think everyone loves you well you're wrong those you love will stab you in the back", Amira cried in pain. "I am loved you Demetria will never be important to me", Heavenly calmly stated. "YOU'LL PAY FOR THIS", Amira cried, as flames of fire surrounded her before destroying her. "Heavenly", Phoebe called, as she ran to Heavenly and gave her a big hug. "How do you feel now?", Cole asked, as the rest of the family shared their hugs. "I feel much better", Heavenly replied with a big smile on her face. "LEO", Piper called, after a brief wait he orbed in. "How did it go?", Leo asked once he orbed in. "Heavenly was able to vanquish Amira by just speaking to her", Paige said still amazed. "How were you able to do it?", Prue asked. "I just felt it", Heavenly said. "Through Heavenly's words of rejection Demetria was vanquished", Leo said. "I do not understand", Paige said. "When Demetria or Amira preys on children she attaches various to them but as long as she is rejected and the child is able to overcome the fears that was attached them then she can be vanquished", Leo explained. "Strange I have never heard of Demetria in all my life as a demon", Cole said. "Maybe that's because she works mostly alone and only preys on children but the more powerful the that she kills the more power she gets", Leo explained. "I am glad this is over.. I love you baby", Phoebe said, as she hugged Heavenly tightly. "I love you to mommy", Heavenly replied.
