Chapter 9- Grandma knows best
Today was a typical school night, Heavenly was sitting on Cole's lap and they were watching one of Heavenly's favourite movies Annie. Heavenly didn't have any dance classes today and she was able to finish her homework. Piper and Paige were making lasagne for dinner, while Phoebe and Leo fed their kids in the living room. "This is my favourite part... it's a hard knock life for us", Heavenly sang along, as the door bell suddenly rang. "I'll get it", Prue announced, as she ran towards the front door. "Hello", Prue greeted. "I'm Yolanda Davis", Yolanda said. Yolanda is an African American woman who looked like she was in her late fifties to sixties. "How may I help you?", Prue asked. "I'm looking for my grand daughter", Yolanda said. "What's her name?", Prue asked. "Well I don't know but I know her but I found out that my son Delante and Phoebe Halliwell had a baby about eight or nine years ago", Yolanda explained. "Oh you must be talking about Heavenly come right in", Prue said, as she led Yolanda to the living room. "Everyone this is Yolanda and I think she's Delante's mother Heavenly's grandmother", Prue introduced. "Mr.s Davis", Phoebe said. "So you know her?", Prue said. "Yes I do she was the sweetest person to me how have you been?", Phoebe asked giving Yolanda a big hug. "I have been doing good how have you been?", Yolanda said. "I have been good... Heavenly come say hello to your grandmother", Phoebe called, as Heavenly walked towards Yolanda. "Hi", Heavenly said shyly "Hello baby you're so beautiful", Yolanda said. "Thank you", Heavenly replied. Then Piper and Paige came to join everyone in the living room, as everyone introduced themselves to Yolanda. "How were you able to find her?", Prue asked. "Yeah and where have you been?", Phoebe added. "I have been out of the country and Delante informed me that he got you pregnant years ago but then suddenly it's like I lost my memory... then I got it back and due to my work I wasn't able to come home until now and I haven't seen my son since and I knew if I was able to find you I would also find my grand daughter", Yolanda explained. "It's a long story", Phoebe said. "Yes how about after dinner we talk about this", Piper suggested. "Yes will you stay for dinner?", Phoebe asked. "I just want to know what has been happening", Yolanda said. "Yes and you will know let's just have some dinner first", Phoebe said. "Please grandma", Heavenly said, with a big smile. "How can I resist that face", Yolanda said, as she agreed.
After Dinner Heavenly was sent to her room while the adults discussed the Delante situation. "I don't believe it my son would never kill anyone", Yolanda stated, as Prue handed her a tissue. "Well technically he didn't try to kill her he tried to sell her off to a demon", Paige said. "This is why Delante shouldn't have been using magic", Yolanda stated. "This has nothing to do with magic", Cole said. "Yes it does if he didn't have magic he wouldn't have done it", Yolanda said, which aggravated Prue. "You need to stop making excuses he is a grown man that made his own decisions", Prue said. "This isn't your business", Yolanda stated. "Yes it is this is my family and this is about my niece and her well being your son screwed up stop sugarcoating it", Prue said, as Yolanda stood up angrily. "How dare talk to me in that manner", Yolanda scolded. "Please everyone calm down", Phoebe said. "I am leaving and just know that I will be coming for my grand baby", Yolanda stated, before walking out and slamming the door behind her. "Well that went well", Piper stated in a sarcastic tone. "I can't deal with this", Phoebe said, as she walked out with tears in her eyes.
"Have a great day at school", Paige said, as Heavenly came out of the car. "Thank you love you bye", Heavenly said. "Love you too", Paige said before driving off. "Hello girls", heavenly greeted as she walked towards her friends. "Hello", Shaniah, and Akita chorused. "I got chips for both of you", Akita announced. "Yay what kind?", Heavenly asked excitedly. "Doritos and Lays". "Can please have the lays?", Shaniah asked. "OK..Heavenly do you like Doritos?", Akita asked. "Yes I love Doritos". "OK I'll give it to both of you at lunch", Akita stated. "Thank you", Heavenly said. "Thank you Akita", Shaniah said. "Girls come on get it class", A teacher called, as the trio ran towards the school doors.
Meanwhile at the manor Phoebe and Cole were home with Sophia and Wyatt, while everyone was at work and Leo with a charge. "I don't know what to do", Phoebe muttered. "Say what?", Cole asked. "I'm worried Cole", Phoebe said, as she looked into his beautiful blue eyes. "Don't be", Cole said, as he put her on his lap. "We don't have anything to be worried about", Cole assured. "The last place he was before he died was here what if the police are able to find proof through DNA", Phoebe shared her worries. "He has been here many other times so it wouldn't mean anything", Cole reasoned. "I can't stop worrying", Phoebe said, as a few tears escaped. "I am here for you and I will not allow anyone to take her", Cole said. "I love you", Phoebe said. "I love you so much", Cole replied, as they shared a passionate kiss. The moment came to an end when Sophia started to cry. "Looks like someone wants our attention", Phoebe said, as Sophia shimmered into her arms. "My shimmering angel", Cole said, as he kissed her cheek and tickled her. Phoebe laughed along, due to Sophia's contagious laughter. "So what would you like for lunch?", Phoebe asked. "Anything that's made by you is just fine", Cole replied, as he kissed her forehead. "How about some sandwiches", Phoebe suggested. "That sounds great.. and I can also help", Cole said. "No you stay here if you come with me we'll never finish", Phoebe said, as she handed Sophia to him. "It's not my fault that you can't resist me", Cole said. "Stay", Phoebe teased, as she ran into the kitchen.
That evening everyone was relaxing and enjoying each other's company. "Knock knock", Yolanda suddenly said as she walked into the manor with a woman. "Mr.s Davis what are you doing here?", Paige asked, as Yolanda walked into the living room with the woman. "And who's she?", Piper asked. "The door was opened", Yolanda said. "You didn't answer the question", Prue said. "This is Fiona Carson and she's a social worker", Yolanda revealed. "And?", Phoebe asked in an unwelcoming tone. "Well I am here to talk about Heavenly Halliwell's case", Fiona stated. At the mention of her name Heavenly ran into the living room. "What case are you talking about?", Cole asked. "You know what I am talking about", Yolanda said. "Actually we don't and what exactly is your problem we told you everything that happened", Phoebe ranted. "Phoebe you're sweet girl and I never meant to hurt you", Yolanda said. "You are hurting me by trying to take my child away from me", Phoebe said. "Well it's not my fault that you sent your child to foster care", Yolanda spat. Heavenly gasped loudly those words hurt her. "HOW DARE YOU", Cole snarled. Heavenly then ran out of the living room. "Heavenly", Phoebe called as she and Cole followed her. "It's time for you to leave", Prue stated trying to stay calm. "But we haven't started what brought us here", Fiona said. "No I think we are done here", Piper stated. "Can I please see Heavenly I didn't mean to upset her", Yolanda said. "No please leave", Prue said. Yolanda sighed as Prue escorted the duo out. "The nerve of that woman", Paige said as the sisters made their way to the sun room where Phoebe and Cole were trying to console her. "I am sorry baby", Phoebe comforted, as she held Heavenly who was sobbing in her arms. "Heavenly I'm sorry you had to hear that", Paige said, as she kissed her forehead. Heavenly just continued to cry, and everyone gave her kiss on her forehead before leaving her alone with her parents. After a while Heavenly stopped crying and she just wanted to stay in Phoebe's arms. "I'll take her to her room", Phoebe informed Cole. "OK.. I love you baby girl", Cole said, kissing her forehead before Phoebe walked out with Heavenly in her arms.
"Heavenly over here", Shaniah called, so Heavenly would throw the ball to her. Heavenly, Shaniah, Akita and some other kids were playing catch the ball at recess. "Heavenly", A voice called, as Heavenly looked towards that direction. "I'll be right back I need to go to the washroom", Heavenly announced before walking towards the school door. "Heavenly please wait I'm sorry", Yolanda called. "What do you want", Heavenly snapped. "I am sorry for saying what I said... and I promise I won't do anything that's going to hurt you again" Yolanda promised. "I don't want to leave my family I am sorry", Heavenly stated. "I was wrong to do that to you... I'm sorry", Yolanda said. "OK". "I will come over and talk to everyone and tell them how sorry I am", Yolanda stated. "OK see you then", Heavenly said. "See you", Yolanda replied, as Heavenly continued to walk to the school. That evening, Yolanda arrived at the manor just like she promised. "How do we know that you aren't lying?", Prue asked. "I would have to gain your trusts and I am fine with it and I am really sorry I was blinded by my feelings and I am sincerely sorry", Yolanda said. Phoebe smiled as she went and gave Yolanda a hug. "Thank you", Yolanda said. "Miss Davis can I please call you grandma?", Heavenly asked. "Of course baby I am honoured to be called your grandmother". "I forgive you grandma", Heavenly said, as she gave Yolanda a big hug. "Thank you baby". "Can grandma please stay for dinner?", Heavenly asked. "If you are alright with it then I am fine with it", Cole stated. "Come on let's all have dinner as a family", Piper said. "Thank you all", Yolanda said, as Heavenly held her hand and led her to the dinning table.
