Chapter five:

I immediately fell to the ground as the world stopped spinning and tried to hold in my lunch. I heard laughter, but ignore it as I tried to regain my bearings. Dana moaned, "Remind me why we took that damn thing again?"

"It was the Senior Patronis' oh so amazing idea to have us travel here by magic," Yukina replied causing the laughter to increase, "Remind me why I can bite him the ass again?"

"He's way stronger than us and Gira would kill us," I answered causing all three of us to shiver in fear.

"If you're done acting like idiots," A male voice sounded from the north of us, "Get up so we can introduce ourselves,"

I groan, but slowly got up with Yukina and Dana following. I shook my head before looking around to find that we had been transported into a large room that had a group of chairs and a few tables. I heard a soft laugh and look to see a smiling boy. He had white-blonde hair that looked like he had been struck by lightning from the way it stuck up in spikes. His eyes were a unique shade of Amethyst that glittered in the light with a few streaks of gold in them. His pupils, like most of the Valde Lupis, were pointed at the tips and sides as well as smaller/thinner than any humans. He wore a soft grayish version of the tunic and slacks all Valde Lupis wore to show he was from the northernmost sect known as the Hevania. Another boy stood next to him. His hair was a dark crimson color that seemed to be windswept even if it was short. His eyes were a bright sapphire blue with a dark green and brown center around the pupil. He wore the green/red tunic and slacks to show he came from the southernmost region of Calidorin. Both only had one wolf by their sides, but from what I've been told having two was rare. The blonde's wolf had black fur that seemed spiked much like it's partners. It's eyes were a deep, soulful gold with streaks of Amethyst in them. It had a pair of gold earrings in it's ears to mirror it's partners. The Crimson haired boy's wolf was a bright white color rather than most wolves that hailed from Calidorin. It's eyes were a deep crimson with a dark green/brown center. The blonde's wolf was taller than most and bulkier whereas the crimson haired boys was slimmer and smaller than most. Both had tribal markings one on their shoulders and one on their chests. The blondes' wolf had the adinkra symbol for Loyalty on it's right shoulder. The crimsons' wolf had the Adinkra symbol for Courage on it's left shoulder. The blondes' had the Celtic symbol for protection on it's chest whereas the crimsons' had the Celtic symbol for Guardian on it's chest. The Markings were in opposite colors making it look like yin and yang. I gave the four a raised eyebrow before saying, "My names Harry Potter-Evans and these are my Guardian's Yukina," I gesture to her causing her to smirk, "And Dana."

Dana smiled and nodded before giving the four a look of curiosity. The Blonde's smile grew and he said, "My name's Gabriel Valor and this is my partner Fenrir."

"My name is Hathorn Grail and this is my partner Vali," The crimson boy gave me a cocky smile, "Both our wolves are males what about yours?"

"Female, but I prefer it," I answer causing them to smile, "So any idea as to where we are?"

"Nope," Gabriel answered and took out a bag of something from who knows where, "All I know is my brother Micheal shoved the portkey into my hands while glaring at me for some unknown reason before saying that I would see my oldest brother Luc soon,"

"I do not know either," Hathorn answered before looking around, "It looks like some waiting room-"

"Correct," Came a harsh voice causing all of us to look over.

Standing in the doorway was a bear of a man. His eyes were a sharp black and his hair a ragged black. He wore a black version of the traditional outfit with an added hooded cloak, a shield, a bow and arrow set, and a large sword. His wolf had ragged black fur, but it's eyes were far kinder than the mans and shone a bright crystal grey in the light. It spoke softly as it looked at all of us, "My name is Reyna and this is my partner Garth. We will be your instructors while you're here."

The bear of a man, Garth nodded and turned, "Follow me you brats. From now on you're to call me Mentor."

All three of us gulped as we were led out of the room after we said, "Yes Mentor."

We were led through a long hallway and out onto what looked like a cliff face. Garth turned to us with a smirk and gestured behind him, "Welcome to Terra Vale! Otherwise known as the Hunters Home. Welcome to your new home Maggots!"

I gasp at the sight before me. Spanning for miles around was a city like no other. Trees and other plants grew freely as people and wolves ran around to get things done. Wolf statues lines the streets along with many houses from all over the world. Shops for Blacksmithing, provisions, and all else dotted the streets. A large dome sat in the center as rivers ran along the city lines to go through large holes before coming out on the other side. Large arch ways sat in various places and I let out a whistle at the sight of flowers popping up everywhere. Four great gates sat at the four cardinal points proudly and I stared at the beautiful place. Gabriel wrapped his arm around my shoulders as Hathorn stood on my other. He looked at me with a crooked smile and said, "I can honestly say this is going to the beginning of a beautiful friendship."

I nod and stare at the city below us, "Yeah...I think it will be."

Time skip 4 years later Author P.O.V

All was peaceful in the valley of the Pectus pectoris Lupis as the sun began to rise. Both people and wolves rose slowly as the night gave way to dawn for another day. Away from the city and on the path of the Valde Lupis, Three boys and four wolves appeared. The middle boy groaned as he leaned on the boy to his right while two wolves leaned against another. One wolf had silvery white fur with tribal markings while the left had medium grey fur with tribal markings. The middle wolf stood between the two and held them up with no trouble. The boy on the right chuckled as the wolf on the left rolled its eyes. Each of the boys wore a thick jacket, a pair of slacks, and large, black combat boots. Finally the boy in the middle stood with a shake of his head while and groaned causing the boy he was leaning on to chuckle softly, "I can't believe you still aren't used to traveling by portkey."

"The magic continues to hate me," The middle boy replied before standing up and looking around, "It feels weird...being back here after four years,"

"It's your home after all," The one on the left said with a Cheshire grin, "It will always feel weird to be back after so long,"

The three boys stood together as they looked around. The middle boy looked to be only 15 while the other two looked to be 16 or 17. The middle began to walk forward while saying, "It's time to go home."

He smiled a soft smile at the white wolf and the grey wolf nodded.

Harry P.O.V

Gabriel and Hathorn walked beside me as we walked down the path towards the city. I licked my dry lips as my hand went to the bag at my waist. Gabriel chuckled and wrapped his arm around my shoulder and said, "It'll be fine Harry."

"How can you be so sure?" I ask as we continued on our way, "I mean I stayed a year longer than I said I would,"

"That's because we were being, in the words of our oh so amazing Mentor, 'Bumbling idgets that couldn't fight their way out of a bloody paper bag'," Hathorn chuckled from my left, "We were lazy the second year and paid for it during the exams...can you believe it though? We're going to a fucking wizarding school this year,"

I smiled at the reminder and heard gasps as we began to make our way through the city towards the Academy where everyone would be. I felt many eyes on me, but ignore it with practiced ease. Gabriel chuckled and murmured, "It looks like they recognize you."

"Me?" I ask teasingly, "I think they notice the fact the Demonic Trio has finally come to town,"

The other two laugh at the name. About a month after our first year, we gained that name after decimating a group of poachers. In the words of the Mentors and various others, we looked like we came from hell itself to drag them to their judgement with the way we fought together. We all simply shook our heads and went back to training. We finally reach the academy and I almost sigh at the familiar scents wafted out of the doors. I led the way to Divin's office as many a man, woman, child, and wolf stared at us. We reached the door and I knocked on it three times. Gira barked, "Come in."

I opened the door and we walked inside. The office looked just as it always had along with Gira and Divin. I saw their eyes widen upon seeing me and grinned at them as I say, "Greetings Senior Patronus. I apologize for my absence spanning longer than three years, but some unforeseen," Gabriel and Hathorn chuckled at that, "Events prevented my return."

"Harry Potter-Evans welcome back," Divin replied with a soft smile, "It is good to have you back, but," His face grew stern, "You have come bearing orders have you not?"

"Aye," I reply as I reached into the bag at my waist, "They are orders from the council of the twelve themselves along with the council of the hunters. I am sorry for returning only to give you more work,"

He chuckled and said, "It is not your fault," He took the scroll that held the orders from me, "Why don't you go surprise your friends? They've missed you."

"Is Forsythia doing well?" I ask causing him to chuckle.

"Very well," His eyes sparkled with mirth, "She seems to have taken your role of being a prankster. I believe she should be with your friends at the moment,"

I nod with a smile and we left with the traditional goodbye. Gabriel smiled at me and said, "Told ya it would be fine."

I roll my eyes and do not comment as we left the room. Yukina snorted as she sniffed the air before leading the way towards my friends. I can't wait to see Andromeda and Domeino again! I felt a small smile appear on my face as we walked through the halls and close my eyes as the energy of the academy swirled around me. Energy from all the past Protectors and Guardian's flowed that flowed through the academy to keep it's inhabitants safe flowed against my magic, caressing it and welcoming me home. I felt Gabriel lean against me as we continue to walk and I murmur, "It's so good to be home."

He chuckled as Yukina said, "We're here."

I stood straighter as I recognize the usual training grounds my friends and I used. Feeling nervous, I ran my hands through Yukina and Dana's fur. They leaned against me and Gabriel squeezed my shoulder causing me to take a deep breath before I opened the door. Three human heads and three wolf heads snapped towards us as we walked inside. I stare at my friends and little sister as I drank in the sight of them before smiling softly as I murmured, "I'm home."

They stared at me for a few moments before Forsythia jumped up from her seat and ran towards me. Gabriel and Hathorn backed up a little as I caught the tiger-stripped blur. I held the crying girl to my chest as she shouted, "Harry!"

"I'm back little tiger," I murmur softly causing her to grip me tighter, "I'm sorry I was gone for so long,"

She curled close to me and I cradled her against my chest while Kali cuddled against Dana and Yukina. She murmured, "Don't stay away like that again."

"I'll try not to little tiger, but with my job it may not always be an option," I promise causing her to nod and look at me with tear filled Blue eyes.

"Alright," She agreed and I smiled softly down at her before releasing her, "Big Brother Andy and Dome have been teaching me a lot while you were away,"

Hearing that, I chuckled and gave the two a look of appreciation, "Thank you...Both of you."

Andromeda smiled at me and asked, "Why were you gone so long and who are your friends?"

Domeino glared at me, "What the hell man? Gone for four years and no letters to us...I thought we were friends?"

"We are," I protest causing Andromeda to slap him over the head, "I just...we...I..."

"We weren't allowed to mail anyone outside of family," Gabriel saved me causing me to sigh in relief.

"Really?" Domeino asked while looking at Hathorn, Vali, Fenrir and Gabriel with suspicion.

"Yeah," I answer giving the two an apologetic look, "I'm sorry,"

I saw Domeino smile and shake his head, "You're forgiven, but who are these guys?"

"They are my partners for any mission I go on unless told otherwise," I answer with a small smirk, "You may know us better as the three demonic Trio,"

"No way," Domeino breathed while looking between us, "How the hell-...shit,"

Andromeda smacked him upside the head while I chuckled softly with a shake of my head, "While we didn't come up with the name, it is us."

Gabriel stepped forward and offered his hand, "My name is Gabriel Valor and this," He gestured to Fenrir, "Is my partner Fenrir."

"Andromeda Morningstar," Andromeda replied as she shook his hand, "This is my partner Blade," She pointed to Blade who smirked proudly, "and this is Domeino Gratz and his partner Shikara," She then gestured to Forsythia and Kali, "And these two are Forsythia Lurai and her partner Kali,"

Domeino smirked and nodded while Shikara shook her head with a smirk. Gabriel smiled and said, "Four beautiful names for two beautiful ladies," He then looked at Blade and Domeino, "And two unique names for two handsome and powerful men."

I slapped him in the back of the head, "Flirt."

"You only say that because you're jealous that they have my attention instead of you," Gabriel retorted causing me to snort.

"Only you would be so big headed to say that," I reply and Hathorn cleared his throat.

"I believe you two should stop before you give these guys a stroke," Hathorn interrupted causing me to look at the surprised faces of my two friends and their partners before he turned to them with a soft smile, "My name is Hathorn Grail," He then gestured to Vali, "And this is my partner Vali,"

Andromeda shook out of her stupor quickly and smiled at Hathorn, "It is a pleasure to meet you Hathorn. Are you by any chance related to Victor Grail?"

Hathorn looked surprised as he nodded, "Yes I am. How do you know my uncle?"

"He married my Aunt last year," Andromeda answered with a smile, "It's nice to finally meet the cousin I've been told so much about,"

I watched the two interact while also looking at Domeino. He was at first glaring at Hathorn with jealousy before smiling at the mention of Cousin. I shook my head and cleared my throat, "We can catch up after getting something to eat."

Following my words, a loud growl erupted from everyone in the room. Laughter erupted from us before everyone nodded. Forsythia suggested, "Why don't we go see Mommy and Dad? They will have breakfast for us all and they can see Harry again!"

I felt nervous, but nodded none the less, "I agree it would be a good idea," Even if I would like the reunion to be private, "Let's get going."

We left the room without anymore fan fair and made our way towards the living quarters. I walked silently as I listened to my friends talk around me and felt a small burden leave my shoulders. For the last three days, I had feared that they wouldn't get along, but that fear was gone now that I saw them acting like old friends. We soon drew closer to the apartment that was my home and I felt a nervous feeling flood my gut. It grew worse as we got closer and Gabriel placed a hand on my arm while whispering, "It'll be okay Aysu."

I felt my lips twitch at the mention of my nickname before nodding. He ran his fingers down my right arm before clasping my hand in his. I laid my head on his shoulder before standing straight as Forsythia threw open the door while shouting, "Momma, Dad! Guess who's back and has some friends!"

I stood in the doorway as Kara's soft voice reached my ears, "What did you say puppy?"

"Harry's home and he's brought two new friends!" Forsythia answered with a bright smile.

Kara's head peaked out of the kitchen with her mouth open only to still at the sight of me. I gave her a soft smile and walked inside as I murmured, "Hi...Mom."

Tears gathered in her eyes causing me to panic before smiling as she wrapped her arms around me and murmured, "My little boy...your back."

"Yeah," I reply feeling my own tears gathering, "I back...I came back home...I missed you mom,"

She smiled as I breathed in her soothing scent, "I'm glad you came home son. I missed you so much."

I snuggled into her embrace while I dimly heard the sound of a door opening. I heard a soft gasp and felt a pair of arms surround us both as Jack murmured, "You came home Harry...you came back."

"I had too," I reply while looking at him, "I'll always return...even if I can't stay for long,"

I was slowly released and Kara looked at me with worry while Jack asked, "What do you mean Pup?"

I looked at them nervously before answering, "We came here on a mission for the council."

"What's the missio-" Jack began only to be cut off by many growling stomachs.

Kara giggled and said, "How about we get some food in us before we talk about the serious stuff?"

We all agreed and soon sat at the table while munching on some delicious bacon and other breakfast foods after the introductions were done. Gabriel and Hathorn sat in their customary positions at my side and Jack began the discussion, "So Harry what brings you three back?"

"Well I've been meaning to come back anyway," I began causing Gabriel to smirk, "And I would have come back earlier had we not been-"

"In the words of our, we were being, in the words of our oh so amazing, fabulous, and favorite Mentor, 'Bumbling idgets that couldn't fight their way out of a bloody paper bag'," Gabriel intoned causing me to kick him under the table.

"Gabe!" I exclaim while everyone laughed, "Do not insult Mentor Garth like that. He did put up with us and kept us alive when we fucked-"

"Language," Kara admonished causing me to duck my head and mutter an apology, "There is a child at the table,"

"I meant to say did something incredibly stupid," I correct my statement causing most at the table to look at me in curiosity causing me to blush lightly, "We kind of...well we were lazy in our second year and that proved very bad for our exams...we almost died,"

"What happened?" Kara asked causing me to sigh and look at Gabriel.

He smiled at me and like the storyteller he is began to weave the tale, "It was a dark, stormy day. Rain seemed to come down like a river as we made our path through thick portions of mud..."

Flashback

My sides burned harshly as we moved through the mud. Yukina and Dana having the same amount of trouble with how thick their fur was. Hathorn and Vali seemed to have an easy time as they moved, but as time wore on they two began to slow. Gabriel hissed, "Are we closing in on the target?"

I close my eyes and spread out my senses as we stop. My magic burst forth in soft waves as I mapped out the area around us. A sense of dread pooled in my body as I searched the dense forest we were in for our prey. The purplish energy of the trees pulsed wildly as did every other signature in this damn forest, but I couldn't find the target. I open my eyes as the rain seemed to tapper off and murmur, "Nothing...I can't find it."

The rain seemed to taper off completely, but that only made the purple and black tree's seem even more eery. I gulp and push back my dread just as I felt a prickle on the edge of my sense. Gabriel growled under his breath and hissed, "Damn it! Where the hell did it go?"

"At least the rain has tapered off," Hathorn tried to soothe only for me to freeze.

Dana growled deeply in her throat while murmuring, "This isn't good."

"What's wrong with Dana?" Gabriel asked only for me to ignore him as I turn to her.

"What's wrong Dana?" I ask as the area fell silent.

"Our prey is an Unraic, right?" She asked causing me to nod, "How does an Unraic hunt?"

I froze and felt my dread increase as Gabriel asked again, "What's wrong?"

I spoke slowly as I began to look up, "How does an Unraic hunt?" My voice squeaked as I finally looked up fully, "Shit."

Staring down at us with hungry, evil grey eyes, An Unraic spread itself out overhead. Its' fur a deep purple as magenta streaks splashed across various parts of it's body. Eight long legs gripped the trees around us while five whip-like tails helped to both hold on and steady it. A large sloth-like body draped over head like a blanket while a panther's head stared down at us with those evil eyes. Long claws bit into the trees from each of the legs, four on each paw except three of them where the paws held eight of those daggers. Long sickle-like stingers were attached to the tails with sharp teeth on the inner side. Hathorn summed up all of our thoughts as we stared up at the beast, "Fucking hell...we should have listened to Garth."

It's muzzle opened to reveal blade-like teeth dripping with blood, gore, and saliva as it roared, "Uracccacaca!"

Fear curled in my heart as lightning flashed overhead to give us some light. Covering the tree limbs were bodies of people, wolves, and other manner of beasts, all ripped apart with organs covered in bites or partially melted from poison. Eyes left in tact on face stared forward in blank, everlast horror. Bile rose up in my throat at the sight of the mangled bodies. Bones lined various parts of the field and the tree's seemed to cry the screams of death, despair, horror, terror, and all else of the beasts victims. The beast let go of the tree's and my mind screamed at me to flee, but my body wouldn't move. Fear and dread paralyzed me as I stared at the face of death. I felt numb to the world as I stared up at it before my eyes went to Gabriel. His eyes were filled with terror that made my heart ache and burn at the very sight. I felt my body move and before I knew it, I had pushed Gabriel and Hathorn out of the beast range as Yukina and Dana did the same to their wolves. I saw the grim understanding and horror in their eyes as I stood to face the beast. Yukina and Dana stood by my side and glare harshly at it as we stood ready; We would give our lives to save our friends. I felt their strength and felt my stance become stronger as I glared at the beast. I knew I would probably die, but if they survived...I would be happy. I heard my name yelled as the beast fell in front of me and glared at me. I spoke as I stared into it's eyes, "Gabriel, Hathorn...Go get Garth...go! Runaway and leave me! There is no reason for you to die as well. GO!"

"Harry!" They yelled.

"Yukina! Dana!" Fenrir and Vali bellowed, but were ignored.

I took out my chosen weapon, a scythe gifted to me by Clara a month before her death...fitting that I should use it to protect my friends...Thanatos...Yukina and Dana settled into attack position as we got ready. Memories passed through my mind and a grim grin spread across my face. Yukina's tail swished and she murmured, "It looks like this will be the end...huh?"

"Yes," Dana answered causing her voice to echo through both of our minds, "At least we'll have done something great,"

"A true hero's sacrifice," I finish causing the two to laugh grimly, "May the lady and the mother protect those four...may they watch over everyone,"

"Think they'll let us have another go?" Yukina asked with a wry grin, "I'd like to train harder next time,"

"Agreed," Dana and I chorused.

"We should have trained harder," We all agreed with that statement.

We stood ready as the beast let out another roar, "Uraccacaca!"

It lept forward and...

End of Flashback

"...and got tossed back by a wave of magic," Gabriel grinned, "Mentor Garth and Reyna had appeared,"

Kara and the others had held onto each word before staring at me in shock. I gave a soft smile as Hathorn said, "They killed the beast and berated us for acting like idiots. We did buckle down and train harder. The next time we faced an Unraic we were ready."

"Were you really ready to sacrifice your life for your friends?" Kara asked causing me to nod in a grim fashion.

"Of course," I replied as I looked at each of the people sitting at the table, "I would do it for anyone here..you're my Nakama (I just had to use it) after all,"

I heard chuckles and allowed Kara to check me over. I shook my head in amusement as Jack shook his head while berating me. I love my life.
