Chapter Six:

I sat against the wall as I waited for Divin to stop pacing. He had finally come to a decision regarding the orders given by both council's. He looked towards me with a sigh before plopping down in his chair. I broke the silence that had been there since I arrived, "What is your decision?"

"I have decided that Andromeda MorningStar, Domeino Gratz, Talon Valance," I glare at the old man upon hearing that name, "And lastly Tsuki Valilpup,"

"Who?" I ask with confusion coating my voice, "I've never heard of her before,"

"That's because her father only allows her to come here during the summers," Divin answered with a shake of his head, "She goes to the school you'll be traveling to, so I believe it will be a good idea to have someone that actually knows the terrain. While in the Bagdari's territory, she goes by the name Luna Lovegood and acts like a ditzy girl. Do not be fooled because she is one of the best at search and destroy missions as well as fighting hand to hand and with magic. She has a temper on her, so do be careful,"

I suppress a shudder at the thought and nod quickly, "Anything else you wanna add Divin?"

"Other than you'll be meeting her at the Leaky Cauldron in Diagon Alley, I don't think so," He replied causing me to sigh, "You will be going with a few older Hunters, Correct?"

"Yes," I answer as I slowly stood, "Currently we have Garth Nico, Lucifer Valor, Heather Cold, and Robin Nico. I do not know if the list has expanded or not,"

"Robin Nico..." Divin muttered causing me to look at him in confusion, "I haven't heard that name in a long time,"

"She's really cool," I say with a slight smile at the reminder of one of my favorite teachers, "She was really nice to us and helped us out a lot when we were looking up information about the ancients,"

"I see," He smiled all throughout my explanation, "I'm glad she's okay. I had feared that she would allow the hate to get to her,"

"What do you mean?" I ask.

"She was born here, but was forced out because of her magic," My eyes widen, "She possessed a unique ability that I'm sure you've heard of,"

"The Flowering Vale," I murmured the name as the room became heated as if the words held the strength of that power, "The ability that allows the user to see into the past and understand what any rune does no matter what...it's said that those with the Flowering Vale ability had the power to become a Wanderer, but was unable due to not meeting the circumstances,"

"Correct," Divin said before waving at me, "Go and gather those that are going with you. You only have an hour before you begin your journey,"

I nod and give him the customary salute before heading off. My fingers burned slightly as I walked and I winced slightly, but ignored it. It had been occurring for a whole month and it was getting worse, but I knew that it was merely the awakening of an ability. Yukina bound up to me with Dana following her. I smiled as Dana asked, "What did you find out?"

"We're leaving in an hour with Andy, Dome, and..." I scowl, "Talon. We'll be meeting up with the last member of our group at the Leaky Cauldron in Diagon Alley,"

"Damn we have to take the mutt with us," Snarled Yukina as we walked towards where everyone would be gathered, "Why in the name of the mother and the lady would we have to bring him?"

"Divin's orders nothing more," I murmured causing Yukina to look at me with surprise.

"Why aren't you angry?" She asked causing me to sigh.

"We need to be calm and he will have to listen not only the older hunters, but to me as well or did you forget the Hunter council named me the leader of our little team of 7?" I ask causing both to grin, "Not only will this mission decide if I'm going to become the youngest captain in history it will decide if we're ready to truly take on the name of Evans,"

"We'll have to do our best then," Yukina growled in pleasure at the thought, "Let's not keep our team waiting. We do have work to do after all,"

I chuckled as she practically pranced around as we walked. She radiated happiness and determination while Dana radiated a sense of calm and wisdom. We were an odd trio now that I think about it, but we make a good team. We've hunted many creatures with the help of the others, but also many alone. I remembered the last hunt we were on when we discovered an ability that only the captain class and above hunters had...

Flashback

"Damn it where the hell did it go?" I cursed as I glare at the snow that covered the tracks of our prey.

"Calm down Harry we need to stay calm," Dana soothed while Yukina tried to sniff around.

"I know, but this is getting ridiculous," I growl before sitting down, "If only we could share our sense, we could find our prey!"

"Perhaps, but only the older hunters know how to do it," Yukina muttered and plopped down next to me, "We need to take a break,"

I sighed and began to scratch behind her ears while sending soothing emotions and memories through our bond. She sent some back and leaned against me. We both gasped as the world became coated in light as heat burst along our bond. Dana cried out as well, but it seemed as if she was far away. I close my eyes as the light got brighter and the heat harsher before it all suddenly died down. I groaned and shook my head before opening my eyes and noticing a few things that we wrong:

1) I was way too close to the ground.
2) I could smell things I shouldn't be able to.
3) I didn't feel the cold as much as before, but that wasn't saying much since I've been resistant to it for a while.
4) I could see Dana, but not Yukina though I knew she was there.
5) Yukina was freaking out about me not being there even if I was.

"What the fuck is going on?" I ask aloud causing Yukina to shut up and Dana to stare at me.

Her eyes widen and I quickly came to the same conclusion as she murmured, "You two have merged."

"Holy fucking shit we've taken the sharing our senses thing to the next level!" Yukina cried in happiness only for me to groan, "We've done what only captains have! Oh man I can-"

"Yukina calm down," I order causing her to shut up, "We need to figure out how to demerge because while I love you to bits...I DON'T WANT TO SHARE A BODY WITH YOU!"

I glanced towards Dana and found she was trying not to laugh...failing horribly. I growled at her and tried to stand only to fall on my face. Yukina muttered, "How about we work together to get used to this before we think about demerging."

"Fine," I grumble and for the next hour we worked on getting up and moving.

I soon tackled Dana for her laughter causing her to yelp. I grin down at her until I smelt something off. I jumped off of her and sniffed the air. The scent that floated towards me was of burnt hair and battery acid. I gagged at the scent only for Yukina to shout, "It's our prey! Let's go get it!"

"How are we going to take it down?" I ask as we headed towards the source of the scent, "I can't exactly use magic or fight with my weapons like this!"

"Actually I think you can use your magic," Dana commented for my side causing me to glance towards her, "Think about that demonstration lord Whitestar showed us last month? The one where he and Sarah merged together while using that frost spell?"

"Oh yeah I remember that," Yukina exclaimed and Dana sent the image towards me.

"Hm...maybe I just need to reach for my core?" I mutter causing Dana to shrug.

"It's our best bet," She said before the scent became strong, "We don't have time to test it out,"

I nod and began reaching for my magic as I handed the controls to Yukina. My magic swirled warmly next to another pool of magic that I knew was Yukina's. All Guardians have magic deep inside of them. They just need our help to bring it to the surface. It's why we can bond and share senses while doing so many other things. It's an amazing thing to know and share with our Guardians...one reason as to why I will never regret going with Kara and Jack that day. I shook myself out of my musings and grasped at my magic. It flowed like it normally did and I directed it to where it should go. The magic left Yukina's paws and created spikes of ice that lodged themselves in the stomach of Grizz we were hunting. It cried out as Dana shot forward and clamped her jaws down on it's neck. It cried out and I sent another wave of ice at it while Yukina clamped her jaws around it's spine with bone breaking strength. I gasped at the copper taste that floated to me. Yukina chuckled and murmured, "It's what we always taste when we take down prey. It's enjoyable to us, but humans don't like it."

I shook my head in her mind and felt immense joy as the grizz died. Yukina howled as she let go with Dana following. The joy and freedom that filled me was so intense that it forcefully demerged us. I felt dizzy as I landed next to Yukina on the snow covered ground and muttered, "Damn...we should do that again!"

I heard both of them chuckle as the sounds of howls rang in the distance. Ah the clean up crew will be arriving soon.

End of Flashback

After that day, I had been put under Lord Whiterstar and his Guardians Sarah and Icy. They had begun teaching me what being a captain ment while also what things I could do with two partners that those with one could not. It was hard work, but paid off in the end.

Okay now it's not a long chapter, but I just got inspired today. More will come very soon!
