Over the course of the next week the group helped Rhydian get up to speed on his schoolwork.
It was the weekend once again and the group was at the Kafe as Rhydian ran a hand through his hair. "My god." He muttered shaking his head. "I can't believe I just did two weeks' worth of schoolwork in a week."
Maddy chuckled as she looked at him. "At least it's not a semester and it's better you get it over with as we'll have a test next week."
"At least I can take the weekend to relax and enjoy being a kid again." He said as he sipped on his chocolate milkshake.
As they had often gone to the Kafe after school Rhydian had tasted each milkshake at least once. He'd started to become a regular around the place and everyone seemed to like him.
Except for a few of the other kids at school though that was to be expected.
As they talked about their plans for the weekend Jimi came into the Kafe and rolled his eyes. "Hey guys look, it's the Welshy."
"Here I thought I was going to get a peaceful day to myself." Rhydian said sighing as he shook his head.
"Give it a rest Jimi." Tom said as he looked over at him. "All you're doing is being a bully and that's going to impress no one."
"Oh really? Then how come I'm being scouted by colleges?" He asked as his friends laughed.
"I'm sure your dad had a hand in that. I'd rather get into college on my own terms and not on my parents words." He said as the clapped at the comeback.
Jimi spluttered for a moment. "Well at least I'm ahead of the curve." He muttered as he sat down holding his ball next to him.
Rhydian chuckled a little and shook his head. "He deserved it." He said as he looked to Tom.
"He did but he's probably only going to make it worse for me on the field." Tom said humming as Shannon gasped.
"That's it!" She said as she looked at Rhydian. "You should try out for the team."
"No, no, I couldn't." Rhydian said shaking his head as he crossed his arms over his chest.
"Why not? We could probably use you on the team. Besides Jimi and I we need all the help we can get."
Maddy looked at them and raised an eyebrow. "Guys, aren't you forgetting something?" She asked looking at them pointedly.
Rhydian looked at her as the other's nodded slightly and hummed. "I shouldn't."
"Right." Tom said nodding as he sighed. "Though it would be really cool if you could."
"Too much of a risk." Maddy said as she held her milkshake.
"I know, I know you're right." Shannon said as she finished her milkshake. "Should we order some food or head home?"
"I think Rhydian, and I are going to go for a run." Maddy said humming. "We can meet at my place for movie night?"
Tom nodded as he got up. "I think Shan and I are going to head to my place and get the snacks for tonight."
"Alright, we'll see you there at seven?" Maddy asked raising an eyebrow.
"Yup see you then!" They called as they headed out of the Kafe and went their separate ways.
