A/N: Hey! It's been a while. I honestly don't know when I updated last. I'm spacing them out as much as possible. I will be continuing until this is finished. I hope you continue to enjoy it. I've been dealing with medical issues in the family so it's been tough. We're getting on one day at a time. Thanks for reading!

Jimi had informed his driver that they were going to go on a walk before they started to head out of town.

Maddy had her arms wrapped around her middle as she tried to stay calm. She swallowed slightly as it kept getting harder and harder.

She looked around for something though she didn't know what exactly. Her wolf was right under the surface waiting to attack at anything that posed a threat.

They had been walking for a few minutes in silence as Jimi stayed close but kept his distance. "Are you feeling a bit better?" He asked voice low.

She closed her eyes and tightened her grip on her arms for a moment. "I don't know." She said through clenched teeth.

"Alright." He said nodding as he looked up at the sky. "You know the sky is really pretty at night. I've always enjoyed looking at the moon."

She listened to him and nodded as her eyes darted around their surroundings. "It is." She agreed as they lapsed into silence.

It wasn't as awkward as one thought it would be. If someone had seen them now it would seem like they were friends taking a walk. Not a young couple on a date.

"I'm sorry." Maddy said suddenly as she let out a breath running a hand through her hair.

"It's alright." He said as he looked at her. "I get it. Well not really. I understand to a point. These things happen." He said shrugging as he chuckled a little bit. "I'm probably making a fool of myself."

She looked at him and huffed out a small laugh. "You're doing fine but I have to tell you that I don't think we can be anything more than friends."

He looked at her and nodded his hands in his pockets. "It's okay. I think we both knew that going into it. I did enjoy tonight though. I hope you did as well."

"I did." She said smiling. "That is up until I made that scene." She said groaning slightly.

Things seemed to settle for a moment as they made it to a clearing with the new moon high in the sky. "We're getting ready to start a new Lunar cycle." She said humming.

He looked at her and chuckled a little. "I didn't know that. What does that mean?"

"It's just a part of life though it means change and new beginnings. You picked the perfect time to turn over a new leaf." She said before freezing.

Jimi nodded and raised an eyebrow when he noticed her freeze. He looked around but didn't hear anything.

He was about to say something when he heard a growl before being knocked to the ground.

He grunted as he hit the ground barely catching himself as he scrambled back. He sat up seeing Maddy crouch to the ground.

She held one hand on the ground her other at her side as she scanned the area around them. Her claws had come out and her fangs were bared.

Jimi looked at her eyes wide as he blinked and scrambled back pressing himself against a tree.

Maddy had heard a noise and scented the air making sure there wasn't a threat. She glanced around as she let out a breath standing up still on edge. "Jimi, you need to leave."

Jimi sat there silently as he watched her back before shaking his head. "No…no…that uh…what was that?"

Maddy sighed as she closed her eyes. "I can't tell you. You need to trust me and forget about what just happened."

"Maddy. That's not going to happen." He said as he sat up a little more eyes still wide. "What was that?"

She sighed and gently ran her hand through her hair being mindful of her claws. "Fine. But you have to promise me you won't tell anyone. And I mean anyone." She said as she looked at him.

He took in her features noticing her yellow eyes that glowed in the night. "Yeah, yeah. Of course. Definitely." He said nodding as he stood up dusting himself off.

Maddy sighed as she crossed her arms and looked at him. "I'm a Wolfblood." She said as she watched his reaction.

"A what now?" He asked raising an eyebrow as he stayed where he was.

"A Wolfblood. Though you probably know it better as werewolves though that's an offensive term." She said letting out a breath.

He looked at her and nodded as he put his hands on his knees. "Oh my god." He said scrubbing a hand over his face. "That…they're real?" He asked as he looked at her.

"Yes." She said sighing. "I'm one, so are my parents." She said as she moved to sit down. "Shannon and Tom know I'm one."

He nodded as he moved to sit next to her but stopped as her gaze snapped up to him growling again. "Okay, I'll stay here." He said as he sat down across from her in the clearing.

"Sorry." She muttered as she looked at her feet. "I've just been on edge lately.

He nodded slightly as he watched her. "Does this have anything to do with the full moon?"

"No." She said shaking her head. "Not even the new moon makes me act this way. An eclipse takes away our power while the full moon makes us more agitated usually the day of or a day before."

He nodded as he listened. "That makes sense. Do you know what it could be?" He asked tilting his head.

"I think it has to do with Rhydian. It's happened since he left." She said sighing.

"So, how long before your eyes stop glowing?" He asked tilting his head.

"Are you scared to be out here with a wolf?" She snipped as she glared at him. "Sorry."

"I take it that's why you were annoyed this morning." He said humming. "Have you considered going to see him?"

"It's crossed my mind, but I don't even really know where he is. Not to mention he's with a wild pack and they don't take well to strangers or tame Wolfblood's."

"That's what you are? Tame?" He asked tilting his head. "Never thought you were really tame."

She rolled her eyes looking at him. "To wild Wolfblood's I am considered tame. I don't let my instincts control me."

"Ahh." He said nodding running a hand over his hair. "That also makes sense. I'm assuming Rhydian is a Wolfblood as well."

She nodded as she swallowed squeezing her eyes shut. "I should probably head home. It's getting late."

He pulled out his phone checking it quickly. "It's only nine now." He said putting his phone away. "We can hang out a little longer. Or I can call Tom or Shannon."

"No." She said shaking her head. "Don't call them. I don't want to hurt them."

He chuckled a little and hummed. "So, I'm fair game then?"

"Jimi, I'm sorry." She said as she laid back on the ground. "I didn't mean it like that."

"It's alright, I was just joking anyway. I understand. I might run and save myself if you were to attack while they would try and stop you."

"So, you'd leave me here alone if I went feral?" She asked as she shifted to look at him.

"Well, at first. Though I'd probably run and tell your parents. Considering their Wolfblood's too they would be the most helpful."

She looked at him and hummed. "You're taking this a lot better than I thought you would."

"I've started actually listening and paying attention. So, I've heard you and your friends talking about somethings. Only in passing. I thought you guys were writing some kind of story."

"We'll need to be more careful about that." She said sighing as she looked back up at the sky.

"You seem to be calming down." He said as he moved to lay on his side.

"Talking seems to help but I'm still on edge and I can't figure out what's what."

He hummed as he nodded. "So, maybe you should at least send word to Rhydian. You have to have some way to contact them."

"I don't want to worry him. It's probably just a pack thing." She said as she looked at him. "Can we not talk about this anymore?"

"What do you want to talk about?" He asked raising an eyebrow.

"What do you know about the star?" She asked as she looked at the sky.

"Not much." He said as he watched her. "Though we can't get lost stargazing considering we need to get you home. I'm slightly terrified of your dad."

"Dad's a big softy. It's mum you have to worry about." She said chuckling as she sat up. "We should do this again. Sometime during the day."

He nodded as he stood up and held his hand out towards her. "We should."

She smiled as she took his hand standing up. "So, tomorrow is Christmas Eve, have any plans?" She asked raising an eyebrow.

"Not much. Mum might not be home and I dad probably won't be by. I'll probably hang with the guys play a little football." He said shrugging.

"Your family doesn't do anything? Or your friends?" She asked as they walked towards her house.

"My friends and I aren't into the real gift giving thing." He said shrugging. "I'll probably get a pair of shoes from my dad and a new football from mum."

"You need a new set of friends." She said chuckling a little.

"You're right on that." He said nodding as he let out a breath. "Slowly I'm trying too."

"It's good and I'll help you. Tom seems to like you well enough. Shannon might take some convincing. Though I think she'll eventually come around."

"I can handle not making friends with her for a while." He said as they stopped outside her house. "Well, looks like we're here."

"Yeah." She said nodding as she looked at her house. "Tonight, was pretty great. I had more fun than I thought I would."

"I'm glad I could show you a good time even if it was more of a fancy hang out between friends." He said as he held out his hand towards her.

She looked at his hand and chuckled before pulling him into a hug. "It's okay to hug your friends. Even if they're a new friend." She said as he gently wrapped his arms around them.

Unbeknownst to them someone was at the tree line snapping pictures of the two of them smirking to themselves.

The two pulled away and from the hug. "Ohh, we should take a picture." She said as she pulled out her phone. "Your first Christmas with a friend." She said as she stood in front of him.

He chuckled a little as he smiled and nodded. "Alright. That sounds good. You can send it to me." He said as she angled the phone before snapping the picture.

"Here, put in your number and I'll send it to you later." She said handing him her phone.

He did so quickly and smiled bidding her goodnight and a Merry Christmas before heading back to his house.

He texted his driver letting him know where he was going. As he was walking a message came in from Maddy and he smiled softly saving the picture into his phone.

Maddy walked into her house and sighed as she leaned against the door. "How was it pet?" Her mother asked from where she sat on the couch.

"It was nice actually." She said as she started taking off her shoes. "We've agreed to be only friends." She said as she moved to sit down.

"I'm glad it went well." Her dad same coming in from the kitchen. "I made your favorite tea."

"Were you two listening to us?" she asked taking a cup of tea.

"No, no. We wouldn't do that. We just happened to hear you two walk up." Her mother said smiling softly.

She chuckled a little and hummed sipping her tea. "I may have told him about being a Wolfblood." She muttered before explaining everything that had happened.
