Embry's POV:
Five days have gone by and we still haven't found anything. And I was going crazy with not knowing what he was doing to her. Or if he had killed her…
No! I would know if he had. But that doesn't mean he isn't doing worse things. I just hope she will be strong enough to handle this a second time, when she thought it was over.
When we first found about him kidnapping her, everyone was out searching. Even Dr. Cullen had his family out looking, and Bella asked her father, Charlie to do a background check and search anything that has to do with that monster. Though because of their network at the small town police station, it is going to take a few days. The worst part was telling her mother.
"Becky?" I say hesitantly, knocking on her bedroom door.
"Yes?" she responds, opening the door.
"Can I come in? I need to talk to you," I tell her.
"Yes of course, come on in," she replies.
I step inside and face her," I have some bad news and you may want to sit down," I say to her.
"Okay," she replies cautiously, sitting down on the bed.
"Now what I am abut to tell you is hard but I need you to stay with me. You can't go away. Okay?" I tell her, looking very serious.
"Okay, I'll stay with you, whatever you mean," she replies.
"Artemis… she was taken… she was taken by him," I tell her.
"What?" she says in shock.
"The monster, he took her Becky," I respond.
"No. How could… how could this happen. No…" she replies in sobs.
"Remember to stay with me," I tell her, hugging her as I do.
She cried for a while but then she moved on and wanted to help. Though we couldn't have her out there searching, we have her helping Emily and telling her she is better here helping then out there.
Three days went by and still nothing. No leads. Charlie was taking forever on the any leads, but we did find out that the monster hadn't been at work for weeks. And the days before he stopped showing up, his coworkers say he acted weird, more aggressive and angry. He planned it. He knew what he was going to do. It wasn't just seeing her and deciding to take her. He planned it all and probably had been following her.
God! I was so careless! I just figured that he was gone, that she was safe. So I let my guard slip. I should have never left her side, let her walk by herself.
"Embry, calm down," Sam says to me.
Day four of her being taken and Sam dragged me into the house to eat something but all I wanted to be doing is out there looking for Artemis.
"How can I calm down Sam? He has her, hurting her! I need to be out there looking for her," I practically yell at Sam.
"We will find her," Sam says calmly.
"When Sam? When we find her dead or beaten to no return?" I reply back to him.
"Embry, you need to realize that Artemis is strong. She has been through so much that should put her down, yet she is stronger than anyone else I know. You need to believe that we will find her and that she will make it through. Now be strong for her," he tells me, giving me that knowing alpha look.
"I will, I have to," I reply.
The next day Charlie finally came through with the background check, phone record, banking statements and more.
The monster apparently grew up in California where he got into a lot of fights during his teenage years. He was a single child raised in a middle class. Somehow they put them through business school. A few years after he graduated, his parents died of unknown causes leaving him with their life insurance and everything they owned. He put it all in the bank and that's when he moved here and married Becky. The bank account hadn't been touched til about a month ago where he withdrew it all.
Though we did get his license plate number the rest was no help. His cellphone has no record in week and nothing to do with Artemis. Everything else was useless. We waited on information that was useless to us. With it being useless lead to all of us, the pack, and the Cullens, along with Rachel and Kim, in the Cullen's living room. Emily talked Becky into keeping Becky at home, so we didn't have to worry about secrets. We called this meeting to figure out where to go next.
"Alice have you had any visions that can help?" Dr. Cullen asks.
"No. I didn't know Artemis, so it makes it hard. But I get glimses of her. I think that with the wolves involvement, there are blind spots. I'm sorry," she replies.
"It's alright. At least we know she is alive," Dr. Cullen says.
"But how are we going to find her!" I demand.
"Embry, you need to stay calm, so we can find her," Dr. Cullen says.
"You're right, I'm sorry," I reply.
"Does anyone have any ideas?" Sam asks.
"We have his license plate number. I'll call Charlie and have him put out a search for it," Bella says.
"Okay, anything else?" Dr. Cullen asks.
"What about getting a list of houses that have been bought or rented in the past three months, say a 100 mile radius," Paul suggest.
"Alright but two things. One, what if he left the area completely and two what if he isn't in a house?" Emmett says.
"No, I can tell she is close, not right here but close. As for it being something other than house, it's a house. She's in a basement, old metal bed…" Alice says and suddenly is in a trance.
"Alice?" Edward says.
"Is sh-" Brady asks.
"Yes," almost all the Cullens chime in.
"Alice draw it out," Jasper says, finding a pen and a paper, then guiding Alice to the couch.
"One window, small, not even a foot wide… concrete everywhere… and a metal chair in corner… a girl… laying on the bed… black and blue and purple… she shakes… I hear her talking… she says…he loves me…" Alice says then comes out of her vision-trance state. She looks down at her drawing, and then hands it to me," This is the room she is in."
Though the room looked awful, it wasn't the room that bothers me. What bothers me is what Alice heard her say. He loves me. Exactly what her mother used to say.
So? How was it? Leave me a Review and tell me what you think. I really love hearing what you guys have to say and it makes me want to continue writing knowing you guys love it. Thank you guys!
