Tom made his way into town as Jimi had said he'd meet up with him.
He waited at the Café for Jimi who showed up about ten minutes later. "Hey, Tom. Didn't expect you to message me."
"Normally I wouldn't but it's about Maddie. Can we go talk somewhere?" He asked raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah, of course." He said nodding as they headed out of the café.
They walked for a bit before Jimi looked at him and raised an eyebrow. "So, what exactly is going on with Maddie?"
"That's hard to say. I know you don't know much about this whole Wolfblood thing. I don't know much myself either." He started sighing. "Maddie's going feral, because her and Rhydian are true mates."
Jimi looked at him and blinked for a moment tilting his head. "Okay, what does one have to do with the other?"
"Okay so they've been apart for like two or three weeks now and if we don't get them back together by the full moon they can very likely die."
"Oh wow." He said eyes wide as he looked at him. "So, what exactly do I need to do?"
"Right now, you need to help her parents. Make sure they have meat and anything else they might need while Shannon and I go off to track Rhydian down. Hopefully we don't die either."
"What's happening to Ryhdian?" He asked concern lacing his features.
"Well, if I remember the story correctly then he should be losing his appetite if he hasn't already lost it. He's getting weaker and weaker day by day."
"Oh wow." He said blinking at Tom as he listened to what he said. "Alright well I'll help them in any way I can." He said putting his hands in his pockets.
"You will?" He asked a little shocked at him.
"Yeah, I mean it's the least I could do. Maddy gave me a chance when she didn't have too. I've haven't been the best person and I'll help in any way I can."
He looked at him and nodded. "Alright then. Thank you, Jimi. This means a lot." He said giving him a small smile. "Oh, also Merry Christmas and happy new year as I probably won't see you until the new year."
Jimi chuckled a little as he looked at him. "Merry Christmas to you too and a happy new year. Here's to getting the love birds back together."
The two laughed at that before they headed both headed back to their respective houses.
The next morning at five o'clock Tom said goodbye to his parents who had been up too see him off and for work.
He gathered his things and headed out of the house towards Shannon's to pick her up. They made sure they had what they needed from their places before heading over to Maddy's.
The two whispered quietly to each other as they made their way up hearing growling from the backyard. "You don't think she got out, do you?" Shannon asked as she looked at Tom.
"No, that sounded too far away for her to be out." He said furrowing his brows as the door was answered.
"Tom, Shannon, there you are." Emma said quietly. "Don't worry about her father was just feeding her."
They looked to her mother and nodded letting out a breath. She ushered them inside closing the door as Daniel came back into the house. "Ahh, Morning." He said smiling to them.
"Morning." They said nodding to him as he went to wash his hands. "You two have everything?" He asked glancing back at them.
"I think so." Tom said nodding. "We have some snack stuff no perishables. Winter clothes extra coats and a tent."
"Good, good." Emma said nodding. "We have more food you can take. Make sure you have enough."
They nodded as Daniel turned around to look at them. "Do you have a map? I want to make sure you know the path you're taking."
"Yeah, it's here." Shannon said pulling it out of her pocket as they laid it down on the counter.
"Alright, they're three days away. You should get there sometime on the thirtieth." He said as he marked the spots. "You'll want to stay to the woods. Keep away from the towns. Unless you need food."
Tom and Shannon nodded. "We can do that. We should have enough for the next few days." Shannon said as she helped Emma pack the rest of the food.
"We'll move during the day as much as we can and rest every few hours." Tom said as he looked to Daniel. "We'll rest for about ten to fifteen minutes. Eat a little something every few hours."
Daniel nodded humming. "That sounds good. You have enough water, right?" He asked raising an eyebrow.
"Yes, I've made sure they have at least four bottles each." Emma said nodding as she let out a breath holding a scarf and coat in her hands. "Here, these are Maddy's. She's warn them enough that her scent should still be strong enough."
"What are these for?" Shannon asked looking to Emma.
"Hopefully, they will help when you close to the pack. They'll be able to tell it's a Wolfblood and they may not immediately attack." Emma said looking at them.
"Okay, that makes sense." Tom said nodding as they put the clothes in the pack. "I think that's all we need." He said looking to the two adults.
"I suppose you do." Daniel said nodding as they headed towards the door.
"Oh, I almost forgot." Tom said as he picked up their packs. "Jimi said he would help out if you need it. Like getting groceries and what not." He explained as her parents nodded.
"Okay, that's good to know. Is his number in her phone?" Emma asked titling her head as they walked out the door.
"Yes, it is." Tom said nodding as they waved to them. "We'll be back as soon as we can."
"Okay, be careful and watch out for each other." Emma called as she held Daniel's hand.
"We will." Shannon called waving to them as well as they left the yard and headed into the woods.
