Chapter 6: Give That To You

Their laughter was muted as their lips met over and over, connecting with one another as if they couldn't lose contact. Catching up after time away from each other was on their agenda in that moment. Damon skimmed his hands down to the back of her thighs as he lifted her against him, giggles escaping from the Elena as she slid her arms up and around his neck.

"Hi." Elena grinned, pressing a kiss to his cheek.
"Hey." He lowered himself onto the couch, holding her on his lap.
"Did you miss me then?"
"What do you think?" He asked, a grin making its way onto his face.

Biting her lip innocently, she played with the material of his shirt as the thrumming of her heart was banging against her rib cage as if she were running a marathon, trying to reach the finish line before anyone else. Sliding his hands from her back, he moved them round to her hips and down to her thighs, smiling.

"Did you sort something out then?" He stroked his thumb along her thigh.
"I'm working on it," She smiled shyly, "How's work been?"
"Hectic, this is the first break that I've had all day."
"That bad huh?" She tilted her head.
"That bad, it's better now that you're here."
"Smooth." She smirked.
"I try my best." He replied with a lazy grin.

Hearing the ringtone for her phone begin to blare from her bag, she kissed Damon softly, hopping off of his lap as she dug around her bag, searching for the ringing mechanism. Finding it, she quickly answered before the dial ended.

"Hello?"
"Hey honey, its me."
"Hey Jenna, so?"
"You've got your appearance."
"Yes!" Elena fist pumped, "Jenna, thank you, thank you, thank you so much!"
"You're welcome. It's at 3:00 pm tomorrow, okay?"
"That's perfect, you're a real life saver."

"I know, just PLEASE never lie to your mother again."
"Scouts honor, I'll never lie again."
"I promised her an exclusive song, you do have one right?"
"Uhm, I will?"
"Elena!"
"All will be fine, I will see you tomorrow, okay?"
"Fine, don't do what I wouldn't do."

Laughing echoed down the phone as she was about to reply when the phone went dead. Shaking her head, she dropped the phone back into her jungle of a bag and walked back over, sitting on the couch beside Damon.

"Everything okay?" He stroked his knuckles along her cheek as she turned towards him.
"Mmhm, more than okay, did you want room service?"
"Good idea." He kissed her forehead, getting up, "Everything sound good?"
"Yeah, I like the sound of everything."

Laying her head back against the couch, she slipped off her gladiator sandals and got comfortable as she watched Damon talking on the phone. It had been four months since they went on that first, surprising date and they had officially been dating for two months, two months of romance and surprise. Damon had left a week ago for New York and he wanted to see her, so she told him she would fly out. It had only been two weeks, but she was generally happy and hoping he felt the same way.

"Room service is on the way beautiful."
"Sounds good to me."

It was nice, quiet and peaceful. The only sound being the rise and fall of their breaths as they lay in silence, staring up at the ceiling. Darkness swallowed the room whole as the only source of light was from the moon as it shined down and through the double glazed window.

"You know something?" His voice was quiet, his eyes still trained on the ceiling.
"I know many of things." The brunette whispered softly.
"Things happen for a reason, a lot of things." He rolled onto his side, looking at her.
"If you believe in it, yes." She rolled onto her side, returning his gaze.
"Do you believe in it?"
"I do, but I'm just a naïve young girl right?" She raised an eyebrow, chewing her lip.

"You're a pretty special naive girl." He stroked his thumb along her cheek, smiling.
"You're so...different." Elena leaned into his touch, looking into his eyes.
"How do you mean?" Damon tucked loose hair behind her ear.
"You're are not the guy I met a while back."
"Maybe because I changed?" He grinned, raising an eyebrow.
"You're the same around others."
"I like you, that's why."

Rolling her eyes, she laughed and leaned forward slowly, pressing her lips against his in a gentle kiss as she pulled back and turned over, her back to him. Fisting the pillow, she held it close and inhaled, a blush rising to her cheek as she felt him pressing against her body, his chest against her back as he wrapped his arm around her waist, burying his face into her neck.

"Goodnight Elena." Damon whispered, kissing her shoulder.
"Goodnight Damon."

Elena sat staring into the mirror and watched as the hair stylist finished straightening her hair, giving it a bit of a puff, so that it was styled. Taking a breath, she chewed on her glossed up lip, smiling as the hair stylist finished and walked away. Jenna walked over, standing behind her and squeezed her shoulders with a comforting smile.

"Are you okay?" Jenna raised an eyebrow.
"Scared, incredibly scared." She swallowed, taking a breath.
"Why?"
"She's a top host and the song is so rough and drafted. I've only done one recording, I usually do three or four."
"I know you, you will be perfect," She kissed the top of her head, "How was your night with lover boy?"
"It was," Turning around in the chair, she inhaled, "Perfect, so perfect."
"Is that a good or bad thing?"
"I'm not sure. It seems too good to be true, it's Damon Salvatore, THEE Damon Salvatore."

"Next up, we have our Hollywood Sweetheart Elena Gilbert!"
"This is it, are you ready?"
"No, I wanna puke." Getting up from the chair, she brushed herself down and looked at Jenna.
"You look great and you are going to be fantastic, I'm sure lover boy is at home, watching his girl live."
"Please Jenna, I'm already nervous as it is."

The stage director came up, ushering her along as she gave Jenna one last smile and followed him, nerves circling around in her stomach. Standing stage side, she waited for the count and listened for the music. Hearing a round of applause, she got the go ahead from the stage director and walked on stage, waving and smiling at the crowd. Lyla Mosco watched with a smile on her face as she hugged her, allowing her to sit in the seat next to her. After the applause had calmed down, Lyla smiled at Elena.

"How's our star doing?"
"I'm in New York, I'm splendid, if that's the term over here." She laughed with a smile.
"Splendid works for us," Lyla gave her a grin, "Why come to New York?"
"Uhm.. I have family here and because of... this appearance of course!" Elena bit her lip.
"Are you doing anything while you're staying here?"
"I might go to the hot spots, but staying in my hotel room and stuffing my face with a good programme sounds just as good."

"So, I heard you have an exclusive song for us today." Lyla gave Elena a grin.
"That I do. It's still rough drafted, but I wanted to give my fans something to look forward to."
"What is the name of the song?"
"It's called How to touch a girl." She smiled softly.
"Well, are we ready for it people!?"

Everyone burst into a round of applause and whistling as Elena got to her feet and smiled, moving over to the small stage aside with the black piano and a microphone attached. Slowly sitting down, she took a deep breath and gave a soft smile as the crowd went quiet. She slowly began playing, running her fingers along the keys.

Mmm

I think I could like you
I already do
Feelings can grow but
They can go away too
You're takin my hand
Lookin into my eyes
Don't be in a rush to
Get me tonight

Feel somethin happenin
Could this be a spark?
To satisfy me baby
Gotta satisfy my heart

She swallowed nervously, thoughts of Damon flying to her head. He was watching this, would he know the song was about him? Would everyone catch on that she has someone in her life? Will they try and get it out of her? Did she have a back up plan?

Do you know how to touch a girl?
If you want me so much
First I have to know
Are you thoughtful and kind?
Do you care what's on my mind?
Or am I just for show?
You'll go far in this world
If you know how to touch a girl

Do you know how to touch, know how to touch a girl?
Do you know how to touch, know how to touch a girl?

I think I could like you
But I keep holding back
Cause I can't seem to tell
If you're fiction or fact
Show me you can laugh
Show me you can cry
Show me who you really are
Deep down inside

Do you feel somethin happenin?
Could this be for real?
I don't know right now but tonight we'll reveal

Do you know how to touch a girl?
If you want me so much
First I have to know
Are you thoughtful and kind?
Do you care what's on my mind?
Or am I just for show?
You'll go far in this world
If you know how to touch a girl

Pressing her fingers against the piano, a soft smile covered her face as she forgot about the crowd and just got into the music, her emotions flowing into it, seeping out of her, pure happiness on her face as she forgot where she was. To her, she was in her own world and she was extremely happy.

Bring me some flowers
Conversation for hours
To see if we really connect
And baby if we do
Ooh I'll be givin all my love to you
Ohh

Do you know how to touch a girl?
If you want me so much
First I have to know
Are you thoughtful and kind?
Do you care what's on my mind?
Or am I just for show?
You'll go far in this world
If you know how to touch a girl

Do you know how to touch, know how to touch a girl? (Yeah, yeah)
Do you know how to touch, know how to touch a girl?

You'll go far in this world
If you know how to touch a girl

Her fingers came to a slow stop as she took a deep breath and stood up from the piano, her legs shaking as the whole room got to their feet, sound of applause filling the room as Elena blushed and chewed on her lip, making her way back over to Lyla Mosco.

"Wow girl, you have spark." Lyla grinned, sitting down with her once again.
"Thank you."
"So Elena, it looks like you have a special someone in your life, the song, the emotion, your smile, care to spill?"
"Honestly, there is no guy in my life."
"It doesn't seem that way, you can tell us Elena."
"I...lets just say I'm happy."
"Happy, we can live with that." Lyla grinned, "Elena Gilbert everyone!"

The brunette opened her eyes slowly, watching the elevator numbers as she yawned and stepped out when the doors slowly opened. Reaching down, she took her heels off slowly and stroked her feet along the carpet, feeling comfort. Moving up the hall, she bit her lip nervously and stopped at the door, knocking gently. After a few minutes, the door opened as Damon gave her a smile and pulled ushered her inside.

"Hey." Elena gave him a soft smile, stepping in as she placed her heels down with her bag.
"You okay?" He closed the door over, watching her.
"I'm just...exhausted. I hate appearances, I don't know how you do them."
"Me neither, but...you were...amazing." Damon spoke softly, looking at her.
"You seen it?" She looked at him, a blush rising to her cheeks.
"Yeah, I did," He took her hand, kissing her knuckles and led her into the kitchen, "I cooked."
"You cooked?" She gave him a soft grin of surprise, "What's the occasion?"
"You."
"Me?"

Elena swallowed at the sincerity in his voice and looked at the dinner he had made. New baby potatoes and steak with fresh-cut vegetables. A fresh red rose sat on the side of one of the plates with a candle lit in the middle, setting the mood. Looking at him, she smiled slowly as he pulled out the chair for her, allowing her to sit down. Taking the seat, she exhaled as he pushed the chair in gently and moved around, sitting in the chair opposite.

"Damon, this is just so...perfect." Elena lifted the rose to her nose, inhaling its sweet scent.
"You deserve all the best." He told her, tilting his head.
"You watched the appearance."
"The song, was it-"

"It was about you." She swallowed after her reply.
"Elena, I know you're very...careful and you're thinking about our situation a lot, your having thoughts."
"Damon, I just-"
"I understand, really I do. It's me. I just...I'm Damon Salvatore, I'm bound to mess up sometime, but for now, I just wanna be with you. You make me...different, better somehow. You know what I'm like, but still you gave me a chance. I still don't know why, but thank you for taking a chance on me. I'll try my best with you or I'll die trying."

He laughed softly, biting his lip as Elena stared at him, tears glazing her eyes as she took a deep breath, the lump growing in her throat. This was WAY to good to be true, he was Damon Salvatore. She couldn't let her guard down that easily, could she? Getting up from her seat, she watched as confusion covered his face and moved over, sitting on his lap slowly as she pressed her lips against his, cupping his face in her hands.

"Damon, You're worth the risk. Everyone deserves a chance to prove their best and I'll give that to you."

A/N: Hey everyone, I hope you enjoyed! :D
