Bulla had a plan. A very good plan. She had planned it perfectly. Graphed it and worked it all out on a piece of paper. Making sure to take in account all the possible outcomes, as well as potential bumps in the road. She had consequences that could happen and marked out what paths not to take. It was a very well laid out, flawless plan. No errors. No flaws. Just complete perfection. Now…all she needed was a set time to execute said plan.

She had finally had enough. She was tired of the constant skirting around and near avoidance. She was sick of being the only one to realize that two specific, and very important people in her life cared for another. It was obvious they weren't about to do anything about it. So, she had decided that she needed to force their hand. And, she wasn't the only one. Oh, no, there were others who had noticed and picked up on the attraction between the two. Her mom and Goten being the main two. While, at first, Goten had been a little apprehensive and uncertain – that was his niece after all – Bulla had convinced him that her plan would be good. Who better to take care of Pan than the one person she had in mind? He'd never do her wrong, never disrespect her, or cheat on her. Sure, he had his rough edges, but, didn't they all? No. In Bulla's mind, there was no one more perfect in this world than him for Pan. And that was final. Shockingly, Bulma had immediately been on board with the idea. Claiming that she had an inkling of a suspicion for quite some time now (even before the two had separated) and even offered to help Bulla scheme.

So, this plan was completely and utterly failproof. The only thing that could possibly go wrong was between the two victims affected by her plan. And, even then, she had a way of controlling it. Not even Supreme Kai himself could ruin this.

For two agonizing weeks, she watched her best friend and father be completely miserable. The two had abruptly stopped their daily training sessions. As far as she could tell, neither had mentioned their sudden lack of appearance in the gravity room and had just stopped showing up all together. On top of all that, they seemed to be avoiding each other. One always waiting till the other left a room before entering and was gone not long after arriving. And, if the slim notion that they were in the same room, her father would go completely tense and Pan would flush bright red before darting out of the room.

Of course, the saiyan princess had attempted to bring this up to her father and Pan, but both had shrugged her off. Pan more politely than Vegeta. He had simply given her the cold shoulder and demanded that she leave him alone. At least Pan had had the decency to attempt to make an excuse on why she wanted to be left of alone. Bulla saw right through it, but still, she at least tried to be somewhat polite.

All this avoidance was making them miserable. Pan, who had finally come out of the shell she had formed over the years, had practically retreated into said shell overnight. Nuzzled securely behind the gigantic and practically impenetrable walls she surrounded herself with. Completely guarded. The pink hue that had returned to her cheeks had drained from her face. The warm light in her brown eyes had diminished. And, the faint signs of the old Pan had completely disappeared. Gone from out of sight. She was back to the thing that wasn't entirely dead, but wasn't fully human either. She stayed locked in her bedroom for hours. Never leaving except for the need for food was to overwhelming. At first, Pan had had the bots bring her food to her room. Bulla quickly put a stop to that. Ordering that the robots not take food outside of the kitchen. It took Pan nearly two days to finally pop her head out of her room and scurry into the kitchen.

Vegeta, well, he was a different story entirely. Bulla had never thought it was possible, but, it seemed that her father had gotten even more angrier. He was constantly upset and always on edge. Lashing out over miniscule things or nothing at all. More than once, he had pushed Bulla too far and she had put him in his place. In which, he'd simply scowl or sneer at her before disappearing to who knew where. He wasn't going to the gravity room. He was practically avoiding that place like the plaque and he wasn't in his room when she went looking for him. He just seemed to…vanish. But, when he did reappear, his muscles were always so taunt that it looked painful. His fists were always clenched and the harsh lines of his face set into a deep frown.

In the beginning, Bulla had simply decided that she would let things work out on their own, because, it wasn't the first time her father and best friend had clashed heads and surely wouldn't be the last. She had been watching the two for a while (even before Pan's disaster of a date with her brother) and had determined that they were simply meant to be. If she knew her father wouldn't murder her for such a prissy name, she'd almost consider them soulmates.

Honestly, Bulla had thought that long before Gohan and Videl had been murdered. Pan and Vegeta had spent practically ever free moment they had together. Sparring. Pan opting to choose to spend her time sweaty and locked in a fierce match between the saiyan prince than going shopping with Bulla and their friends or going out. She always chose him, above everything else. Everything she done, she done in hope of his approval. And Bulla wasn't sure if Pan was conscious of all of this. She had the suspicion she wasn't. It was like something inside Pan was desperate for Vegeta's approval and when she didn't get it, well, Pan typically worked her ass off till she more than got his approval. It was how things had always been. Up until the accident.

Strange how things can change drastically in just a small amount of time. It was like a domino effect. First Goku left, then Gohan and Videl were questionably murdered, and then Chi-Chi got sick. Pan's life fell apart so fast that no one honestly expected the young saiyan to recover. She still had Goten, but he was working for Capsule Corp and had been placed out of city. He was constantly moving and at the time, with Pan still in school, the only option was for her to stay at Capsule Corp. It was also the choose that Bulma and Goten had decided would be best for the girl. She was in a fragile state and needed all the ground support she could get. Bulla had stuck by Pan's side through it all. All of them had. She was never truly alone. Though, Bulla knew that despite being in a room full of people who loved and cared for her, Pan still felt lost and alone. She was on a continuous downward spiral that had no end to it in sight.

Then, something changed. Pan slowly began to register some life. There was that faint warm flow in her eyes and the distant, unattached look had begun to fade. Bulla had known instantly what it was. Out of everyone, Vegeta was the only one who could at least feel something like what Pan was. He'd lost his parents to a malicious tyrant and been taken hostage by said person. Not to mention his entire race of people and home. While Vegeta now called Earth home, it would never truly be his home and everyone, including Bulma and his kids, knew it. They knew that he longed for the ruby red planet to still be sitting in the galaxy. And because of this similarity, Vegeta seemed to give Pan some comfort she hadn't realized she needed. He didn't even need to speak. All he had to do was prove that he was there. Whether it was standing right next to her or sitting across the room. He was always there.

Vegeta had been a big help for Pan. He was the only person who could pull Pan from her nightmares that had her shrieking so loud it woke the entire house. The only person to calm her and soothe her back to sleep despite her fears of what lay lurking in the shadows. It was him, and him alone, that helped Pan mourn. Whether either of them realized it or not, they had become dependent on one another long before now.

It was almost dinner time when Bulla finally realized how she could execute her plan and where. Once the bots had finished cooking and the food was all laid out, her father and Pan would make separate yet closely timed visits down to get their food before returning backing to their hiding spots. That's when her plan would go into effect. She'd just have to time it out perfectly.

Bulla took her usually spot at the table, Trunks had left on a "mini-vacation" and didn't know when he'd be back, so it was just her. The bots finished cooking right as she suspected. They spread the food out on the table before instructing to dig in and disappearing back into their cubbies where they were stored. Everything smelled delicious. As it always did. Now, she just had to wait.

Not even five minutes later, she heard the light tread of Pan coming carefully down the stairs. The dark haired girl's head peaked around the corner. Peering into the kitchen, checking to see who was in there, before she fully stepped around the corner and into the room.

"Hey, Pan!" Bulla greeted cheerfully. Pan gave her a small smile in return as she set on the task of fixing her plate.

"So, I was thinking…we've not had a movie night in a while. I think it's time we had one." Bulla watched her best friend's response with keen eyes. She saw when her shoulders went tense and knew that Pan was getting ready to give some excuse, "It's settled. We'll have a movie night tonight, after supper." And, before Pan could even complain, Vegeta walked into the kitchen on que.

Both saiyans went completely still. Their bodies ridged as Pan attempted to avoid eye contact and Vegeta tensed his jaw. The saiyan prince walked over, grabbed the plate that had been set for him, and waltzed out of the room without a word. Pan relaxed when he was out of the kitchen.

"What gives?" Bulla barked out before she thought about it. She contemplated taking it back, but enough was enough. She needed to know what was up. Why were the two of them so keen on avoiding on each other.

Pan opened her mouth.

"And don't say nothing." Bulla warned, "I know something's wrong. I'm not stupid, despite what people tend to think. I've seen the way you and dad are avoiding each other." Pan flinched, "Did something happen?"

Pan's face went flush as she stared down at the plate in her hands. Only half of it was covered, not nearly enough to fend off her appetite, but, if she fled now – she wouldn't have to answer Bulla's questions. She wasn't sure if she could handle the way her best friend would respond. Also, Pan wasn't entirely certain on why they were avoiding each other. She suspected it had to do with the kiss, but, she couldn't tell Bulla that, could she?

"Don't even think of leaving. I'll just follow you to your room. I know the override passcode." The bluenette said smugly.

Pan sighed, dropping into the seat directly across from Bulla, and placed the plate onto the table. "I'm not exactly sure." She mumbled.

"You're lying."

"No, honestly." Pan defended, "I sort of know, but, I'm not sure…I – I think…maybe…I done something wrong."

Bulla frowned, "What?"

Was Pan really going to confess to her best friend that she had had a very heated and very well-liked make out session with her father? She wasn't sure how to approach that subject. What to do when you had the hots for your best friend's dad wasn't something in a magazine. How did you even start something like that? Let alone, mention the part that had caused everything to turn to chaos so fast it almost made her head spin. She hadn't intentional rolled her hips against his. It had been a reflex. Her body was craving something – she now knew was a release – and it was dead set on it being because of the saiyan prince. Her brain hadn't even processed what she had done until Vegeta was already long gone.

"I know you like my dad." Bulla smiled. She hadn't meant to blurt it out, but she just couldn't take it anymore. She knew that her dad was the main issue and could tell it was making Pan uncomfortable. So, why not go ahead and put it out there that she knew? "I also know, that my dad likes you."

"I'm not so sure about that." Pan sighed.

"Why do you say that?" Pan kept her eyes trained on the food in front of her. Not saying a word. "Does it have something to do with why you two won't even be in the same end of the house was each other?" Bulla pushed.

Pan nodded.

"What happened, Pan?" Bulla was starting to get concerned now. Maybe she had been wrong. Maybe, her father didn't like the young saiyan after all.

Pan guessed it was now or never. "Do you remember a little while back, when I told you to go tell your dad I wouldn't be training because I felt bad? Then I spent three days in bed." Bulla nodded, "Well, I didn't exactly tell you the whole truth." Pan felt her face flush. Was she honestly about to blurt this out loud, "I had – I had…a dream. It was a different kind of dream, not a normal one, and…well, it affected me. It made my skin hot to the touch and I was…uncomfortable…for a few days."

Bulla started to smile. "So, you had a dream about having sex with my dad and it turned you on?" She laughed.

"Bulla!" Pan shrieked, causing the bluenette to laugh even harder. She honestly hadn't expected her best friend to be as calm and cool about this as she was. Sometimes, Pan questioned Bulla's mental state. Most people would be freaking out to know that their best friend had dreamt of having sex with their dad. Not gossiping and laughing at it.

"What?" Bulla chuckled, "Well, it's the truth, isn't it?" Pan's face went even redder as she lightly nodded her head. "Okay, so you got hot and bothered and didn't feel like facing my dad…what's this got to do with you two avoiding each other?"

"Well…after I – I got to feeling better and returned to training. Something happened." Pan whispered.

"What happened?"

Pan's gaze was locked firmly on her intertwined hands, fumbling in her lap. "We…kissed." The last part was barely just above a whisper and Bulla had to lean forward just to even remotely hear. And even then, she could only assume what the word was based on what it sounded like.

"You kissed?" Pan nodded, "That's great!" Bulla exclaimed.

Pan looked up from her hands and stared at the beaming girl across from her with shock filled eyes. "What do you mean great?! How could you think this is great? Most people would be freaking out right now! Especially finding out that their best friend and father had a make out session." Pan clamped her hands over her mouth quickly.

Bulla's grin got wider, "Make out session, huh?" She smirked, "Well, well…looks like I don't have to work some magic after all."

"What do you mean? Magic?" Pan arched a brow.

"Oh, nothing." Bulla waved her off, "Okay, so you had a steamy dream about my dad, then you two had some hot, quality lip locking together… that still doesn't explain what's going on between you two."

"I done something." Pan admitted, "While we were…well, you know…and your – Vegeta, freaked out." She sighed, "I messed up and I didn't even mean too. It just happened. We were laying there, him over top of me, and all those feelings from that morning after my dream came rushing back and hit me full force. My body was desperate for something that I didn't know what until later, and that's when I screwed up. He pulled away so fast, you'd thought I'd hurt him. And, before I even realized he had moved, he was out the door." Pan rested her head against the table with a small thud, "I screwed up."

Bulla mulled over Pan's declaration. So, Pan and her father had an intense and heated session in the GR and apparently, Pan done something to freak her dad out. But what could Pan have done to freak her dad out so bad? She knew he had to at least like her somewhat, because there was no way in hell Vegeta, cocky Prince of the Saiyans, would make out with just anyone. Also, what feelings could have Pan's body craving – Oh, well…that explained a lot. She knew exactly what all of this was about and was honestly foolish for not realizing it sooner.

"These feelings, the ones from the dreams," Bulla started, "Was it like your skin was on fire and no matter what you done it wouldn't cool off?" Pan nodded, "And, was there like an ache?"

For the second time that night, Pan looked at Bulla like she had just sprouted a second head. "Yeah, how – how'd you know that?"

"Because, I think I know what's going on." Bulla stood up, "Come on, let's go to my bedroom. This is a conversation for private ears only."

Pan wearily followed Bulla out of the kitchen and up to her bedroom. Both leaving their untouched plate of food on the table. They hadn't even bothered with raking the food of the plates. The conversation they were about to have was far more important.

"Okay," Bulla said once they were seated on her overly pink bed, "First things first, what you were feeling…that's completely normal."

"Huh?" Pan asked.

"Just hear me out, okay?" Pan remained silent, "You were never told this, because well, no one expected this to affect you because technically, you're more human than saiyan. You know, since your mom was full human and your dad was only half saiyan. Everyone, that being my dad, mom, Goku, Chi-Chi, your dad, and mom, had always suspected that because of that, you wouldn't go through this."

"Go through what? What are you talking about?" Pan questioned.

"You were in a heat, maybe still are."

"Heat? What does that even mean? Like a dog?"

Bulla wanted to laugh, not because of how naïve Pan sounded, but because that had been the exact thing she thought of when her parents had sat her down and gave her the most embarrassing talk of her life. For both them and her. The three hadn't even brought it up since the minute it was over and done with. Bulla knowing everything she needed to know and her parents knowing more about their daughter than they ever wanted.

"Sort of. Every so often, about every six months, female saiyans go into heat. It's the time when, one planet Vegeta, they would either find a mate or would be impregnated if they already had a mate. Women were warriors just like men, so usually, a woman only produced one or two children in her lifetime, and even then, once the baby was born – she was back out in the field. Because of this, the women developed a time, twice a year when they become of age, where they would go into heat."

"Their bodies would go through some changes, so mom suspects that is pretty much starts when puberty hits. For anywhere from 3-4 days, you'll suffer through erotic dreams, a fever, and the need for sexual contact. Also, during this time, your scent changes. It becomes – sweeter – and it lets all the other male saiyans know that you're in heat and would often compete to become your mate."

"So, the reason your dad kissed me was because I was in heat?" Pan deflated.

"No, I wasn't finished." Bulla scolded, "In some cases, there are what are called, set pairs. Two specific saiyans who were basically meant or well, destined, to be together. It's apparently very rare, especially among lower level saiyans. But, with royalty it's a lot more common."

"How do you know the saiyans are a set pair?"

"Well, my dad didn't really go into a lot of detail, but – because the chance was there, he did explain a little bit. Okay, so, according to him, a set pair are usually very close. Even before the female goes into heat. And, once the female does go into heat, all she wants is him. Normal females, non-set pairs, just have heated dreams. It's not with one specific person. It could be someone she knows or someone she's never meet and each dream is always different. With a set pair female, her dreams are always revolved around the male because, only he can ease the pain. When the female goes into heat, it can affect the male a lot too."

"How?"

"He's more sensitive to her scent and, if he knows she's in heat, physical contact can break his resolve and make him act brashly. A lot of the times, the males are always the first ones in a set pair to realize that they are, in fact, part of a that. The female is always the last to figure it out."

Pan just stared at Bulla. Her friend's words buzzing around in her head. The noise was so loud it was almost like she had stuck her head in a beehive. Constantly buzzing around her head. What if, what Bulla was saying, was true? Of course, it was true! If anyone would know about that stuff, it would be Bulla. So, that meant, she and Vegeta were destined to be together…All the signs added up to it, or at least she thought they did. All her dreams during those three days, and after, had all revolved around him. He had been the only one who her body had thought would give her what she craved. Needed. Then there had been the fact that right after, Vegeta had completely evaded any contact with her. He hadn't touched her until he had pounced her after her blast. And, when he had, the next moment they were entangled together, lips locked brutally, on the cool tile floor.

"Dad isn't upset with you." Bulla pulled Pan from her thoughts.

"Then why's he still avoiding me?"

Bulla sighed, "I'm not sure…but, I think it has to do with the fact that he's afraid of what might happen if he touches you again. You know, since he almost jumped your bones last time. Which, I think we both know you wouldn't have a problem with." Bulla joked.

Pan laughed. She felt relieved. For the first time in days, she wasn't depressed or upset. She was relaxed, content, and happy. Sure, she was still a little upset that Vegeta was avoiding her, especially since now she knew why. It felt good knowing, and still a little embarrassing, to know that Bulla was apparently completely cool with Pan having a thing for her dad, and even, supportive of it. She still wasn't sure how or why, but found it was probably best not to question it. That was common when it came to Bulla. You never questioned the bluenette's actions, you simply went along with it.

"Okay, so how do we get him to stop avoiding me?" Pan questioned.

Bulla hummed, tapping her perfectly manicured finger against her chin. A sinister smile broke out across her face, and Pan wasn't sure whether she should be excited or concerned. "Okay, so here's what we'll do…"

What devious plan does Bulla have in store? And, should Pan or more importantly, Vegeta, be concerned? Find out next chapter!

As promised, a longer chapter! :D

Also, important note, I know that there may be grammar errors or something is worded funny…I usually post my first draft (even though I probably should wait till I revise it, but I don't…teehee…) and, after looking at the words for so long, they all kind of make sense to me. So, I go back and read it a second time a day after to see what errors I made and fix them. Then I update the chapter on here.

I know it sounds like a lot of work, but oh well….if there are some errors that you see and they don't change after a day or so, feel free to let me know so I can correct them!

Anyways, thank you all for reading my story! I hope you're still enjoying it! :D Plan to update soon. If something happens and I can't update as soon as I like, I'll make a note on here to let you know. -thecosmicowll. 3
